FSE is kicking my butt. Not a fan of it as a casual blogger.

It definitely has a learning curve, though it is possible to pick a Block theme that you like “as is” and have minimal interaction with the Site Editor, allowing you to continue focusing on the Page and Post editors. It is also possible to activate a theme that isn’t using the Site Editor at all. You can find those by searching for Classic or Hybrid themes in WordPress.com. But we hope that you’ll give the Create Your Site course a try to learn the basics of working with the Site Editor too. We also have live webinars (and replays) available to help you progress.

Although I’m a Jetpack-enabled WP.org user, these are quite resourceful, thanks!

That’s great to hear! Thanks for you sharing. While most of the materials focus on WordPress.com sites, we do try to cover information that is useful for self-hosted WordPress sites as well.

Glad there’s a link to watch replays of webinars that I missed! /Learn is a great dedicated resource.

I moved my smaller blog from a Hybrid theme to a Site editor theme and was very successful. However, attempting to move my larger blog became most difficult. So for now, I’ll let it be until I become more adept with the Site editor.

Great news, thank you! I somehow got lost and could no longer access your learning materials; this post has put me on course again.

The move to an open platform is fantastic; all free, all the time. Thank you! Please say that all the Blog Archive posts will remain available for reference. I especially found “the raw basics of site design” particularly helpful for folks new to FSE. 🤞

Thanks for the great feedback JenT! And yes one way or another those archived blog posts will be available. We’re working on the best way to handle them, so for now they’ll stay where they are. Then we’ll either move them into /learn as posts, or we may connect them to specific courses, not sure yet 😊

This is brilliant, especially for people who are not just unsure of which platform to go with and want to know that they can get access to the write guidance without paying loads of fees but, it is also great for people who have made the decision but don’t have any or much of a budget at the start but still need help and guidance immediately
