Anders Norén is a theme hero!

It seems he has a liking for naming his themes after authors. So it’s a pretty safe bet that this theme was named after JK Rowling.

I love how clean and bright it is, with white space used to give maximum contrast to the elements.

I use Rowling on my site. Be warned, there are some limits (ex. only one widget area), but it still is simplistically beautiful!

I spent weeks trying to update my site earlier this year and ended up with simple and clean Revelar theme. Now I saw Rowling and it just “clicked” for me in an instant! Darker default base font, more menu customization options (e.g. Social Media menu), marked sticky posts, site description in the header… It’s just plain perfect! I always wanted my widgets in the sidebar rather than at the bottom (better visibility by far) but all the themes I tried (and I tested plenty) looked messy with widgets in the sidebar, so I used the clean Revelar and learned to live with widgets at the bottom. Somehow, Rowling makes sidebar widgets work great with the main column and it all looks absolutely neat on all screens, with posts and featured images beautifully exposed. And it keeps my images (featured and those in posts) at the resolution of my choosing without scaling them to whatever resolution the theme prefers. Thanks a lot! I finally feel my site layout is “complete”, with nothing bothering me.
