New Themes: Colinear and Franklin

Introducing Colinear and Franklin, two amazing themes for your delight.

On this Theme Thursday, we have two new free themes for you: Colinear and Franklin.

Colinear: Homepage

Colinear — our update to the older Coraline — is a squeaky-clean theme featuring a custom menu, header, background, and layout. Colinear supports featured images and six widget areas — up to three in the sidebar and three in the footer.

Primarily designed for magazine-style sites, Colinear is a flexible theme that also suits any personal blog or content-rich site.

Check out Colinear on the Theme Showcase, or activate it on your site.

Franklin is a lightweight blogging theme, designed by Michael Burrows.

A flexible combination of elegance and readability is evident in Franklin’s design, which can be extended by adding widgets to the sidebar and footer widget areas.

Check out Franklin on the Theme Showcase, or give it a spin on your site.

Nice update to Coraline, which has been popular for a long time.

I use Colaline now and I like it. If Colinear is an update to Coraline, does this mean that Coraline will be discontinued? If that’s the plan, when will it happen?

I see what you did there WordPress, Coraline, Colinear, clever way to use all the same letters to rename a most heard of theme. Hats off to the WordPress team, this is fantastic :-).

They look pretty similar to other WordPress themes, yet Colinear is great for foodies.

I’ll eat my hat if Colinear doesn’t prove to be one of the most popular themes this year! 😉

Liking the customizability (is that a word?) of Franklin. I played around with it and it looks like it’ll be a good one. I think when I’m ready for a change I’ll give it a whirl.

I love Colinear. There are Multiple Layouts and Color Schemes and many other cool features. Thanks so much for this theme.

Franklin is also a very clean minimalist theme that also appeals to me.

I spent the whole weekend playing with Franklin and I love it. I wish it had a single-column template for posts and pages, but I’ve already figured out a way around that, so no biggie.

Wow, both themes seem very suitable for my blog. Very well thought out clean design, and it gives my blog a little extra little touch!
