I’m looking forward to seeing how Gravity does this year. More than any other year, the Best Actress category may be interesting as well. I’m anticipating one of the tightest races yet!

I recently just posted an academy award best animation post on the nominees. If Disney’s Frozen wins best animation for that category it will be the first time in history Disney would do so.

Forgive me, one and all, for I could not give a toss about the self-congratulatory piffle, fol-de-rol, poppycock, twaddle and cringeworthy public self-abuse. For pete’s sake, this is only an entertainment industry.
The people worthy of praise and recognition are volunteers out there saving lives and being paid next to zip.
For me, watching the Oscars or caring who wins what, comes a distant second to sitting around in my underwear drinking beer and reading Kerouac.

As for Hollywood, we might a big The Wolf of Wall Street show this Academy Awards.
Really hoping the Best Foreign Film category sees a true winner in terms of cinematic contribution and experience for viewers transcending all countries!

Saw this post after I watched the Oscars. I enjoyed them. Next time I’ll be more prepared, and undoubtedly enjoy them even more.

I saw this after the show as well. Agree that it was one of the better years with a lot of strong films being represented. I think the Documentary category has deservedly gained a higher profle, esp. this year with Darlene Love breaking into song after “20 Feet from Stardom” won. Granted, that’s my subject, but still. Only wish that Bruce Dern won as well…
