May Wrap-up

Another day turns into another month and brings us another wrap-up post. I’m currently in a remote undisclosed location but nothing could stop me from blogging to you. It’s not all bad — here’s my desk at the moment:
What more could you need?
Here’s the action from last month:
- 221,343 blogs were created.
- 245,156 new users joined.
- 2,638,958 file uploads
- About 1,074 gigabytes of new files.
- 417 terabytes of content transferred from our datacenters.
- 3,415,871 posts and 1,120,407 new pages.
- 5,862,782 comments.
- 4,865,114 logins.
- 693,555,035 pageviews on WordPress.com, and another 441,241,199 on self-hosted blogs. (1,134,796,234 pageviews total across WordPress blogs we track.)
- 71,351,276 pageviews in RSS feeds.
- 965,041 active blogs, where “active” means they got a human visitor.
- 156,693,165 unique people visited WordPress.com-hosted blogs.
We introduced some cool stuff in May including the Monotone theme, Identicons, a new admin bar, and threw a bitchin’ party to celebrate WordPress’ fifth. What’s in store for June? I don’t know, but it’ll be hawt.

I like your work desk. I am just returned from a vacation in northern Wisconsin. It was great and the view of Lake Superior was wonderful. However, the weather was a good deal colder than your picture indicates.

In your April message introducing Monotone, you mentioned “if I remember” I’ll post some of the sites using this template. Since I was just joining WordPress at the time as a photoblogger and can attest to how “cool” it is, (50 entries and counting) I would like to help you remember. I can’t compete with the view from your “desk”, but on certain days a visit to http://singleforareason.wordpress.com is almost as good as a drink with an umbrella in it.

Wow those stats are fantastic….I am fairly new since April and I love this…Anway have fun working, why didn’t you ask me to come along. I would have been nice enough to rub lotion on your back, so you don’t burn…Have fun and keep up the good work…

As I read this post I realized what a small blog on this huge blogosphere I am.. and i was so proud of almost reaching 4000 views…man….wow….now I don’t feel so, well, special. However, I am, like you, in an undisclosed location…far far away…surrounded by a bunch of noisy children, one pot belly pig, one snake, one guinea pig, one lizard and…geez I wish i was in your undisclosed location. It looks much nicer then mine! LOL

A laptop + iPone + a glass of good drink @ a place exposed to some healthy sunlight and a pool in front of you. Sooo… relaxing.

I can’t believe those figures that is absolutely amazing! I haven’t seen the monotone thing yet but i am extremely jealous of your work desk!!! And i want your phone!!! The cat i can’t have as my dog would probably think it was a toy!
Since i have had my blog i have passed on the link to several people and they have used it for their blogs and think it is ten times better than blogger! I used to have blogger so i can definitely confirm it is better!
