Som för de flesta filmprojekt så måste vi anpassa planeringen en hel del efter när stjärnskådespelarna är lediga. Vi inledde veckan med de två dagar som vi hade Dogge tillgänglig. På onsdagen och torsdagen hade vi inspelning med Marika Lagercrantz. Marika hade ett plan till Tyskland att passa så det gällde att få alla hennes scener klara innan torsdag klockan 14.00. Vädergudarna har ju hittills varit goda mot oss, men under torsdagen passade de på att demonstrera sin makt genom att ge oss alla väder – efter en natt med regn och åska fick vi en dag där det växlade snabbt i mellan hällregn, sol och hårda vindbyar. Periodvis allt på en gång. Omväxlande väder gör det svårt att få scenerna att klaffa. Om man filmat en del i regn måste ju även resten utspela sig i regn och vice versa. Regn är dessutom ett ständigt hot mot utrustningen (kameror, lampor, bildskärmar, datorer och kablar). Just när det slutat regna och vi skulle börja rulla igen fick vi strömavbrott. Långa kablar innebär många skarvar som kan bli blöta. Ronald löste det dock med blixtens hastighet.

Vi han klart i tid för Marikas plan och det blev hög kvalitet på det som filmades. Sista timmarna innan Marika skulle åka var stressnivån hög. När sista scenen med Marika var klar jublade alla och man märkte hur regissören Jocke slappnade av.

När man får jobba med Marika så märks det tydligt varför vissa skådespelare har gott om jobb. Hon är ett superproffs! Hon är även en underbar person att jobba med. Marika verkade gilla att för ovanlighets skull spela ful, hon gör en fantastisk tolkning av rollen som häxa.

Under den här och kommande vecka på hela teamet i stugor på Rörviks Camping. Vi är gäster med lite annorlunda önskemål, men personalen på campingen har varit mycket hjälpsamma. De har snällt lånat ut brandsläckare, extra bomnycklar, parasoller etc. Vi också fantastiskt stöd ifrån Hornbore By samt lokala markägare som lånar ut inspelningsplatser.

På torsdagen hade vi besök av Strömstad Tidning (Buhuslänningen) som gör ett reportage om filmen.

För att summera veckan – det har varit slitigt men fantastiskt roligt.

* Detta är den första veckan på denna inspelningsperioden, vi hade en veckas inspelning i juni också.

Now in its 28th year - they must be doing something right!

Apologies for not mentioning this year's Largs Viking Festival sooner, and giving anyone interested, but unfamiliar, better opportunity to make a visit. Since I can't make the trip this time round, it wasn't in my mind, and it was only noticing the date that reminded me of the omission.

There are lots of events on during the festival, it started on Saturday, August 30, with a parade through the streets of Largs, official opening and lots of fun activities and displays. During the following week, a Viking Village on the promenade populated by the Vikings where you can learn more about the how the Vikings used to live and concludes with the grand finale - the symbolic re-enactment of the battle along with boat burning and fireworks on Valhalla Day at The Pencil monument - on Saturday, August 6, 2008.

Our absence might lead to the success of the event, especially the re-enactment and fireworks, as our occasional visits have always been ruined by the arrival of dreadful weather. Last time, it took over half an hour for the the participants to get the beacon fire to light and burst in a wild... smoulder. It was almost funny as the local Fire Brigade was in attendance - no doubt due to some cowering minion that that had been obliged to carry out a Health & Safety Risk Assessment, and determined that a burning straw bale on the Largs shore half a mile away from the town was likely to cause the Great Fire of Largs, and they'd be held liable. Doesn't really help the atmosphere, having a big red fire engine following the parade - somebody needs to get a grip.

There's also the aspect that the place is so damp that the outbreak of fire from a spark has to be one of the most unlikely results of the firelight parade - a few years ago we never even had the parade. After waiting for over two hours, the word was finally passed down that the Vikings were'nt coming, having been flooded out of their camp site the previous night due to torrential rain. They'd tried their best to pull things together for the procession along the front, but eventually had to admit defeat at the hands of the Scottish weather.

Idag hade vi inte samma tur med vädret. Men eftersom det var inomhusscener så påverkade det mest alla vi som stor på utsidan och jobbade. Men med hjälp av två rejäla partytält så funkar håller vi utrustning och team torra.

Det är ett fantastiskt filmteam. Gänget jobbar bra ihop och det är en underbar stämning. Trots långa dagar och högt tempo är alla glada. Eftersom vi har en tajt budget har vi begränsat med utrustning krävs det ständigt kreativs lösningar. Men alla tar glatt tag i problemen och löser dem.

I morgon fortsätter vi att filma scener ifrån häxans hus, fast utomhus så hål tummarna för att vi får hyfsat väder. Just nu är det åska och regn…

Arbetet löper på bra även om om det blev en del förseningar och vi drog över rejält igen. Skådespelarna är jätteduktiga med det är ett tajt schema. Idag var sista dagen med Dogge, han är en skön snubbe och han har klar skådespelartalang. I filmen så spelar han egyptier, men med tanke på hans skägg så skojjar han en hel del över att han ser ut som en taliban.

På eftermiddagen var det en badscen. Jocke (regissören) peppade skådespelarna genom att först hoppa i havet för att demonstrera hur de ska aggera. Tobbe verkade inte allt för glad i dagens nakenbad. Han var nog glad att de satte scenen på första tagningen.

Idag anlände Marika Lagercrantz, i morgon är det dags att filma scenerna där hon spelar häxan Sjöunn.

Medias intressa är fortsatt stort. Idag var TV4:s lokalnyhter här och gjorde ett reportage, senare var det radiointervju med Jocke för Rix megapol.

Dagens scener handlar om när Osvald (Tobias Lundqvist) träffar Upplands befrielsearmé – spelade av Dogge Dogelito, Björn Starrin och Mikael Forsberg. Det mesta utav detta utspelar sig i skogen och dagens solsken och rök ifrån lägereld gav snyggt ljus. Det är ingen tvekan om att detta kommer att bli en både snygg och rolig film. Vi blev tvungna att ta om scener på grund av att teamet (främst regissören) fnissade så högt att det hördes i filmen.

Nu håller vi tummarna för att regnvädret ska dra över snabbt…

Runes. Runes. Runes. What are they? How should you use them?

The Runes have been around since time immemorial. In recent history (the past 2000 years) they have surfaced three times in the affairs of man. The first time was about 1000 years ago when the Vikings held sway in the world. They took them on their Dragon Long Ships and left traces of them on stones and monuments throughout the world.

Vi hade en kort inspelningsperiod i Foteviken dagarna efter midsommar. Men nu i september är den huvudsakliga inspelninsgperioden och pågår till den 26/9.

Hela juli och augusti har det varit full rulle med förberedelser inför inspelning. Det är mycket som ska planeras, fixas och tillverkas. Det har även jobbats hårt med att sy ihop finansieringen. Finansieringsgruppen har gjort ett fantastiskt jobb med att få ihop avtal med privata finansiärer så att det ska finnas pengar för inspelningen. Vi vill även passa på och tacka alla investerare och sponsorer som stödjer oss och gör denna fantastiska film möjligt.

Kommande vecka är vi i Hamburgsund och spelar in.

And, because I've never met a dead horse that I didn’t want to kick, at least three times, I’m staying on the subject of the culture of winning.

Larry Robinson briefly referred to winning in Montreal.

There is also a family that personifies winning – the Sutters, from Viking, Alberta.

“If I had to be adopted,” Pat Burns once said, “I'd want to be a Sutter. Those guys have a special mixture."

Six of the brothers played in the NHL (Brent, Brian, Duane, Darryl, Rich and Ron), and four (Brian, Darryl and Brent, and Duane) became NHL head coaches.

I have talked to Duane Sutter on a few occasions.

He’s the Director of Player Personnel in Calgary. For eleven seasons prior to this, he was either: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Director of Player Personnel, or scout with the Panthers.

Before Florida, he spent two seasons as a scout for the Blackhawks, before taking over as head coach of their IHL affiliate in Indianapolis, for three years.

Duane explains some of the Sutter qualities:

“It was our overall approach to the game. We hated to lose, and we’re noticed more for our second and third efforts, rather than our first effort, because we weren’t some of the more talented guys in the league. It’s because of the work ethic, and because of the second and third efforts that we get noticed every night.”

“We’re all our own people,” he’s quick to point out. “I think each of us has tried to create our own identity, especially now with us being out of the game.”

If Duane’s schooling was his family and junior hockey, his grad school was the New York Islanders – the Past Masters of the culture of winning. Or, at least they were at one time.

They now have become the apparent successors of the New York Americans.

There was no better hockey environment than Long Island, during the early 1980’s.

Sutter was their first-round pick in 1979 (17th overall). He played on four consecutive Stanley Cup winners, during his 11-year playing career - eight seasons with the Islanders, and three more with the Blackhawks.

Duane explains why the Island was such a positive environment.

First of all, it started at the top - the shrewdness and leadership of GM Bill Torrey, who would later take Duane to Florida.

”They drafted very well in the early part of the Islanders’ franchise,” Duane continues. “They did their homework. They were patient with young kids coming along.”

“It started right from management and coaching, and the depth we had, and the understanding what role you had to play, to carry your weight on the team. And we had the superstars, the big guys to score the big goals, the goaltending. There was an overall great chemistry.”

And the Islanders had one of the best coaches in NHL history, Al Arbour.

"When he walks in the dressing room,” Duane explains, “he has an impact on everyone, whether he’s silent, or chalking out strategy on the board, or whatever. It’s what he brings - the impression he leaves on people. He’s a smart hockey man. He was really good technically, and he knew when to give you a boot in the rear end, and when to pat you on the back.”

Duane later played for another coach, who used his foot more than his hand. “Iron Mike” Keenan was coaching in Chicago, and is now with Duane and the Flames.

"Mike has a lot of different motivation tactics that people don’t agree with,” Duane explains, “He’s a really good technical coach. If you give Mike 120%, he’ll treat you great. If you give less than 120%, then you’re going to have trouble with Mike Keenan. Bottom line, if you look at his winning percentage, he’s won a Stanley Cup. He’s a good bench coach.”

So, what’s the basic principle of a winning culture?

“Number one,” he states, “the coach is only as good as his players, and the players are only as good as their coach. If everyone works together, you’re going to have some kind of success. You have to believe in each other. Money has become a big part of the game, but with teams that win, there’s a really good cohesiveness between the staff and the players.”

One of the ironies Duane learned, was what it takes to win as a player, isn’t necessarily what it takes to win as a coach.

“I’m an awfully intense individual [as a coach], much like when I played the game … I struggled early in my coaching career, in the minors, not winning a lot, but it was a great coaching experience … I believe I have a good understanding of all the strategies that can be used. More the technical side of the game … Probably my biggest downfall [was] poise as far as handling myself in front of the team. I learned a lot from [former Florida coach] Doug [MacLean], because he’s a very poised individual, and he’s short and to the point. [I learned] that a kick in the rear end isn’t always the best way. You’ve got to hand out more pats on the back … There’s always new ways you learn to motivate people”

Which helps, of course, to create the culture of winning.

Neat Instructable on making a wooden spoon. Interesting tools too. I've made several over the years but never had a special tool to cut the bowl of the spoon out with. Gonna have to see about making one next time I get the forge fired up.

Legenda 1, Aremania - Bonek
Siapa yang tidak tahu rivalitas kedua suporter ini. Harga diri kedua kota di Jawa Timur bisa dikatakan dipertaruhkan oleh kedua suporter ini . Gesekan panas yang timbul sudah sangat sering terjadi, dan tidak sedikit kerugian yang diakibatkan gesekan-gesekan kedua suporter ini. Rivalitas kedua suporter ini juga tidak kalah panasnya, Berbeda dengan Aremania dan Bonek yang memburu prestise tertinggi di Jawa Timur. Dua suporter ibukota ini tidak jelas latar belakang rivalitasnya, seolah - olah kedua suporter menganggap bahwa mereka memang ditakdirkan bermusuhan. Tapi sayang ada gesekan - gesekan yang terjadi padahal itu di luar konteks sepakbola.

Benang Merah 1, Aremania - The Jak
Hubungan akrab kerap terlihat di kedua suporter ini, mulai dari mendukung tim masing-masing dalam 1 stadion (final Copa Indonesia), Pembuatan film dokumenter Dirijen Aremania oleh Wong Atrakaj, hingga demo bareng. Keakraban ini sangat indah dilihat karena mereka sama - sama berkomitmen untuk memajukan persepakbolaan Indonesia.

Benang Merah 2, Viking - Bonek
Sayup-sayup saya mendengar lagu yang berbunyi "viking bonek sama saja, asal jangan The Jak, The Jak itu ...." ini merupakan tanda bahwa kedua suporter ini memiliki ikatan emosional yang sama. Mereka akrab karena mempunyai musuh yang sama yaitu The Jak.

Benang Merah 3, The Jak - Bonek
Ini adalah rivalitas yang bisa dikatakan masih ”hijau” karena baru berumur beberapa tahun, tapi kerugian yang dihasilkan tidaklah sedikit. Dan hal itu memang bisa dimengerti karena kedua kubu merupakan anggota resmi dari 2 legenda yang ada di Indonesia. Dan bukan tidak mungkin akan menjelma menjadi legenda rivalitas ketiga bila tidak ditindak lanjui dengan sikap positif

Mistery Aremania - Viking
Aremania dengan Viking, sejauh ini hubungan mereka adem ayem. Artinya, tidak ada gesekan panas yang terjadi ataupun suasana yang terlihat akrab di keduanya. Melihat fakta yang ada besar kemungkinan kedua suporter ini akan membentuk rivalitas baru, tapi tentu saja hal ini dapat ditanggulangi. Yaitu dengan saling memberi rasa respek antar keduanya, Apalagi mereka mempunyai warna yang sama yaitu BIRU . Saya yakin baik dari pihak Viking ataupun Aremania tidak ingin ada rasa permusuhan diantara mereka.

Ya, that's right. Vikings kick so much more ass than pirates do. Don't get me wrong, pirates are pretty badass, but vikings are about 10 times more badass. And I'm not just talking out of my ass here. I have reasoning.

Part One: The Head
First off, the hat. A pirates hat is stupid. It's like a cowboy hat, but a little bit cooler and it has a skull on it. On the other hand, a Vikings hat is made of metal and has sweet horns. A viking could kill a man with his hat, a pirate couldn't.
Secondly, Vikings have much cooler facial hair.

Part Two: The Build
Vikings are HUGE, they could make someones head explode by slapping them. Pirates are either fat or scrawny, none of them could bench press Rosie O'donnell.

Part Three: The Weapons
Let's take a look at the armory for a second. Pirates are equip with guns, cannons, and flimsy pussy swords. Viking have either a big ass broadsword or a sweet battle axe. No pansy guns. Vikings fight like men, not babies. And even without guns, vikings would still win in a fight. Their huge bodies (see part two) could absorb the bullets. He would take the entire clip directly to the chest, and then as the pirate is taking five minutes to reload, the viking whips out his axe/dick and proceeds to cut his head off/beat him to death with it.

Vikings win, because I said so.

Projection

Up to this point in our lessons, we have been learning how to attract the energies of the Runes out of the Quantum Ocean and into our Auras.

Runes are creative, universal energies and the Runic energy you bring into your Aura, will create similar things in your physical reality. You attract Rune FA into your Aura and you will attract physical money into your life.

Attract Rune UR energies into your aura and you will attract physical health.

The Laws of Quantum Physics explain to us that ALL is energy. That there exists an infinite ocean of thinking, intelligent energy called the Quantum Ocean. In reality, it is the Mind of God who created everything, including the lesser Gods.

The God who has remained hidden down through the ages, couched in so many religions. Now with the Age of Aquarius, we can not only know who this God is, but we can know the Laws of Creation.

Runes are very powerful tools to use to co-create and recreate your life.

Since the Quantum Ocean responds to our thoughts, we can think these Runic energies into our lives. I call it the Science of Mental Radionics.

Once you have your Aura charged with the suitable runic energies, you can project these energies to others, to family or other loved ones or to the soldiers on the battle field.

Here is how you can project runic energy while in your favorite chair, which by now has become your outer Rune Realm due to all the Meditations and Breathing exercises you have been practicing while sitting in it.

Inhale the runic energies you intend to use out of the Quantum Ocean. Mentally chant the specific Rune Mantras over and over.

Hold your right hand up and imagine the rune energy flowing from your Aura to the index finger.

You can either have the person you want to project runic energy to in the room with you or you can use a photo or simply a mental image.

Take a deep breath and exhale the runic energy out from your hand and into the Aura of your partner or the person you wish to project to.

As you are projecting, chant the rune mantra three times. While exhaling, imagine the runic energies flowing through your hand into the Third Eye of your partner.

You can proceed and project this energy to each of your partner's chakras. Or simply to their Aura in general. If you intend to heal using the Rune Ur, point directly at the Chakra which is associated with the ailing organ, or directly at the organ itself.

All is Energy, your are energy, your chakras are energy, your organs are energy, your loved ones are energy, Runes are energy. Learn how to project Runes and help bring them into the 21st Century.

I've only just started reading, so this is not a review, except to say it is an accessible book, easy to read, not bound up tightly in a lot of scientific jargon. The chapters aren't overly long, and succinctly put each science problem in an informative narrative.

In the table below, I've listing the chapter titles and sub-titles.

I plan to take my time on this book to soak it in; also I working on reading a couple of other books at the same time. I'm especially looking forward to reading chapters 5, 9 and 11 and may post some comments after I've finished those chapters.

Again, just thought I'd give this book a mention as many of its chapters, at least five I believe, concern subject matter I've written about in previous posts.
