Incredibly popular in the U.S. and parctically unknown here in Italy, Alfred Matthew Yankovich, aka Weird Al, is a singer, a comedian, a parodist [mmm???], accordion player, a director (he directs all his videos) and television producer. Grammy Award winner with albums at the top of the charts, Weird Al is specialised in satirical covers of famous songs, that he usually will accompany with a video resembling the one of the original song. Two examples are the videos under here.

Avevamo già dato un'anteprima del suo lavoro qui, ma finalmente abbiamo raccolto un pò di videoclip, corti e spot più rappresentativi in questa monografia, prima di una serie sui principali registi di videoclip.

Cunningham oltre ad essere uno dei più grandi clipmakers è anche il creatore degli effetti speciali di film come Alien 3 e Alien Resurrection, e ha collaborato con Kubrick nella preparazione di "A.I.", progetto sfumato con la morte del regista e successivamente fatto da Spielberg.

Su tutti c'è proabilmente un video, il più importante: Come To Daddy, di Aphex Twin

You somehow missed the right moment:

Alcuni di voi ricorderanno Ed Holdsworth per il video dei Radiohead, Sit down stand up (qui), altri forse per il video dei Placebo, Infra red (qui), altri per Half of what dei Prefuse 73 (qui) ed altri, infine, per She moves She di Four Tet (qui). Sullo stile di quest'ultimo video, abbiamo trovato un lavoro di questo interessante regista londinese, datato 2003 e prodotto dalla Onedotzero. Il video racconta dello straniamento che si prova arrivando a Tokyo, non appena ci si immerge in quella esplosione di luci e colori che è la megalopoli Giapponese. Ed è proprio su quste luci e questi colori che Holdsworth pone l'accento, esaltandoli ed rendendoli astratti attraverso una serie di effetti video che rendono l'intera città un grande caleidoscopio. La visuale è quella del passeggero di un treno, la musica di sottofondo è a cura di Dom Mino. Il lavoro si intitola Arrive.
