Men under de nuværende kampe i Libanon mellem regeringshæren og Hizbollah er der ingen rapporter om civile tab, grædende kvinder foran ødelagte huse eller dramatiske billeder af følelsesudbrud i forbindelse med begravelsen af uskyldige børn.

Enten er de aktuelt stridende parter bedre til at undgå civile tab end andre, eller også har Ritzau og Reuters en politisk dagsorden, som danske medier videreformidler uden at blinke.

A violinist who left his 285-year-old instrument in the back of a New York cab has played a concert to thank the driver who returned it to him.

Philippe Quint gave a private 30-minute performance on Tuesday in the taxi waiting area at Newark Liberty International Airport. He left his violin, a 1723 Kiesewetter Stradivarius, in a taxi on the way back from the airport last month. The driver, Mohamed Khalil, got in touch the next day to return it. "I cannot describe it in words, the feeling that I was going through at the time. I was frantically looking for the violin that whole morning," Mr Quint said. After leaving it in the taxi on his return from a performance in Dallas, Mr Quint rang the police and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The following day Mr Khalil was put in touch with Mr Quint, and soon the violin was returned.

"He just saw it in the back seat there. He had no idea how priceless this instrument was," Mr Quint said.

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

Terry Inskip, recently sent me a list of Inskip departures from these shores between 1890 and 1929. It is interesting to observe that at the height of the British Empire, the largest formal Empire the world has ever known (yes larger than the Romans!), that to travel abroad the passengers simply had recorded initial, surname, age, sex, year or departure, destination country and port of departure and arrival. Contrast this to the growing list of 'biological' data we are supposed to give to travel from the new Heathrow Terminal 5 to Manchester - let alone to destinations such as the USA.

Armed with this meagre data I tried to discover from census and other data I have who these Inskip travellers were. Some are emmigrants, some travellers, and some have 'business' abroad.

The earliest is Samuel Inskip, a blacksmith from Bedford who emigrated with his family to America. Then there is Walter Inskip and wife Florence Thurley from Bedford who went to live in Tanzania in the 1920's.

Charles H and Mary Inskip from Shefford retired on a round the world voyage in 1928. Meanwhile Charles' brother William, who was a bank director, appears to have a range of exotic locations including Chile, Argentina and Japan.

Major Percy Inskipp and brother Frank Warren Inskipp from Sussex are regular travellers to Africa, whilst Alfred T Inskip the rancher from Devon, regularly criss-crosses the Atlantic to Canada with his siblings.

But I'd love to know more about Alice Stott from Oldham, who married a John Inskip in 1893 and went to Boston in 1901 alone with her 4 very young children, Hannah, Arthur, James and John.

   We cannot afford a president who thinks that chatting with governments whose official media spews the most absurd and despicable lies about America and Israel is a serious exercise in diplomacy.  We must, instead, have a president certain that America and Israel are the good guys and that the triumphant of these nations - with as little violence as possible - is the only sure answer to peace.  Is Obama this sort of president?  Nothing suggests he is and everything suggests he is not.

In exchange for their arms deal, will the Saudis do more to stop the smuggling of cash and suicide bombers into Iraq? A recent Pentagon report showed Saudi aid to the Iraqi insurgency dwarfs that of other Muslim nations, including Iran.

It has become painfully obvious that the Saudis are playing a dangerous double game of privately supporting Islamic terror while claiming to be our friends. How many times will Washington allow this nation to be betrayed?

Last Friday the UN's Human Rights Council took a direct swipe at freedom of expression. In a unanimous 32-0 decision, the Council instructed its "expert on freedom of expression" to report to the Council on all instances in which individuals "abuse" their freedom of speech by giving expression to racial or religious bias.

The measure was proposed by paragons of freedom Egypt and Pakistan. It was supported by all Arab, Muslim and African countries - founts of liberty one and all. European states abstained from the vote.

The US, which is not a member of the Human Rights Council tried to oppose the measure.

Men forklaringen ligger selvfølgelig lige til højrefoden, journalisterne kan jo slå 2 fluer med et smæk: USA- og kristen-bashing på en gang - mums!

Det er jo sådan, at når Hodjas blog skriver om kombinationen 'islam' og 'Porno' eller 'Erotic', så vælter det ind med besøgende fra de der lande I ved nok.

Og nu er der en iransk kunstner, der har lavet en udstilling med overskriften 'Islam Erotica', så dette er jo en meget seriøs postering, men husarerne vil alligevel flokkes om den.

Claremont artist pushing boundaries

Max Emadi’s surging notoriety does not come without a price. The artist has received upwards of 20 death threats for his controversial paintings, which have garnished more and more attention in recent months.

His latest work, entitled Islamic Erotica, will be on display at the dA Center for the Arts in downtown Pomona throughout the month. An exhibition opening is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 beginning at 6 p.m. The work will be on display until April 26.
