So I just got back last night, and... let's see. I still have to listen to SHINee's new album, and FT Island's.

So what else has happened? In list form because there's a lot! XD

1. Ice released a new song, called I See U... and it's really cute! And there's a Japanese rap that Ice wrote himself, and it's a fun dancy song that's very much in Ice's style. To me the song sounds pretty Japanese, but then I'm not that familiar with Jpop, so iono. The MV should be out sometime this month, and the nang ek is Peak, and when I heard that I was just like FUDGE MY LIFE! Why does it have to be the only only only girl I don't like?! UGH I CAN'T STAND HER FACE! And her trying to be cute! Ugh. But it's Ice, sooo whatevs. Listen to I See U here!

2. Tor+ released a new song, called มั้ง? (Munk?), and IT'S SUPER SUPER SUPER CUTE!!!! And Tor+ rocks! Watch the MV! My only problem with this MV is that I WISH HE WOULD JUST GET A DAMN PIANO BENCH ALREADY!! He looks so awkward playing the piano like that! XP Watch it here.

3. B.O.Y has a new MV! It's for their latest single, Ter Narak, which I think is a really cute song except for the really cheesy English. Tengneung is cuuuuuuuuuuute! :D This MV is footage of them and their fans. Watch it here.

4. C-Quint has a new MV. Iono why I bother with this, because they really can't sing, and I really hate that. -_- Watch it here.

5. SHINee has a new MV! It's for Love Like Oxygen. How I could save this for after C-Quint, I don't even know. Watch it! Love it! Love SHINee! I really wish Minho wouldn't look at the camera like that, though. If he keeps doing that, I'm gonna get carted off to jail for sure. *flail*

7. I saved the best for last, really! Peck Aof Ice's We R One concert VCD FINALLY FUDGING CAME OUT!!! Not too long before I left. So of course I ran out and bought it and watched it immediately. WAH I LOVED IT SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! I want to post Peck's Gun Lae Gun! If no one uploads it, I'll do it my freakin' self. I might also want to upload the part where Ice cries. AWWWWWWWW poor Ice, being sick and fresh out of the hospital and everything. But he gives his all every time. SU SU! But for now, here's Ice's Kon Jai Ngai with Chompoo Araya.

Über Oli Kahn weiss ich deshalb auch nicht viel, aber alles was ich von ihm weiss und gesehen habe, bringt mich zu dem Schluss: Er ist eine verdammt coole Sau und absolut liebenswert! Und sicher werde ich sein Torwartkünste und seine Interview-Statements nach den Spielen sehr vermissen.

Von ihm kann man lernen, daß Talent nicht alles ist. Mit Willenskraft, Fleiß und Ausdauer kommt man auch sehr weit. Er hatte immer Biss, war fleissiger als andere und sich nicht verarschen lassen; er hat in seinen Interviews richtig schön auf die K... gehauen! Das war immer wunderbare und authentische Unterhaltung! Da will ich mir gern ´ne Scheibe von abschneiden. Mit Talent bin ich ja gesegnet ohne Ende (*g), aber ich könnte noch fleissiger sein und eben mehr auf die K... hauen. Ich bin viel zu nett, müsste viel öfter aufkochen und austeilen, meine Vorderleute anschreien und ausrasten, wenn mir irgendwas nicht passt:

"Ach Herr Kahn, schade dass Sie keine Gedichte schreiben...(oder vielleicht doch? Ihnen traue ich fast alles zu...")

The Don't Be Evil Empire has just released a new browser, called Chrome.

It's not just a new browser. It's a new way of doing browsers.

It's mind-blowingly... unnecessary.

But don't just take my word for it. You can read their Meet Chrome 'webcomic' - all thirty or so pages of it - replete with demi-flattering caricatures of real-life Googlegineers.

These Googlegineers will tell you, in as simple yet funky a way as words and pictures can manage, that they've redone the whole way that the browser works.

Wow.

In solving all the problems of the interbox, they've also managed to make your experience of the interbox even more Googlecentric.

Well done, that boy there.

My favourite part is the incognito window, which lets you watch zoo porn plan a surprise party without your girlfriend finding out.

But they do explain in the fine print that the FBI can still trace your IP address back to you from your accesses to that kiddie-porn ring in Stockholm.

Why didn't the Googlegineers just drop in Googletor, so that their browser users could move about the web invisibly? Or mostly invisibly anyway...

They give me the creeps, Google.

Happily, one thing that Chrome can't fix about the web is plugins.

I love the way that the webcomic character goes all melancholy about that, but then perks up because, after all, it's only one thing that they couldn't fix, and all the rest is so well fixed that it'll stay fixed forever.

The Google Chrome user-agent shows that Chrome is actually WebKit 525.13 (Safari 3.1), which is an outdated/vulnerable version of that browser.

I feel safer already.

Yep. The interbox world will be a much better place when we all start using Chrome to search for things with Google, to check our Gmail, to write up our Google-owned Blogspots, to update our Google Docs, and to watch movies on our Google version of YouTube (when they buy the software from someone to do that...or have they already?).

Jo Walton offered some notes on the singularity and the problems it seems to be causing for SF writers in a recent post at TOR.

Here's what was said:

"What irritates the heck out of me is that so many other people have come to have faith in this, despite zero evidence, and that this is inhibiting SF. "..."Yet somehow the Singularity resonated to the point where Charlie Stross called it "the turd in the punchbowl" of writing about the future, and most SF being written now has to call itself "post-Singularity" and try to write about people who are by definition beyond our comprehension, or explain why there hasn't been a Singularity." (bold face mine)

I mentioned before that I agreed with the assessment that there would never be a singularity event, but that opinion obviously shared by some hasn't prevented the seeming need to adequately explain away the singularity for readers who are concerned about such bible-esque armageddons.

Now admittedly I haven't read all that much POST Nineties SF (some, and I'm working on it), but I've yet to see anyone use the most simple, straight-forward explanation of all.  What I have seen are authors who simply leave the entire concept out of their world building (which works for me), but may not work for others in the 'believeability' department.  (How some folks can believe in one fictional concept and reject another fictional work because it doesn't embrace the first piece of make-believe is beyond my understanding. Selective sense-of-wonder disorder? Adult Willing-Suspension-of-Disbelief Deficit?)

Anyway.  The simplest work-around to the singularity 'problem' is - it didn't happen.

As some have pointed out, the progression towards technologies that could engender a singularity that will occur within our life times (or close enough) requires that the current rate of change remains unchanged.  Moore's Law describes an exponential increase and the path towards the singularity assumes that that will continue, while prior experience with other technologies will easily illustrate that this is not the case; at some point, a wall is reached, the exponential growth ceases and only cosmetic changes occur until a new technology comes along to supplant the old one, at which point the roller-coaster ride begins all over again.

Fortunately, we don't even have to wait to see if we come to the end of the exponential growth cycle in computing to know if such will occur before or after the singularity, because there are numerous, plausible future events that could curtail such growth tomorrow.

Natural disasters, biological events, warfare, alien invasion, cosmic blow-offs are just the few off-the-top-of-my-head, easily imagined future events that could slow or even stop technological advancement next year, next month, or even tomorrow, because, if the research stops, so does the development of technologies that could lead to the singularity.

If you presume that a post-apocalyptic* society remembers our concerns about run-away technology - or even blames such for the downfall, and you presume that their cultural attitudes embrace some small piece of 'just because we can doesn't mean we should', and then give them a little time to recover from the apocalyptic* event, you've created any number of plausible post-non-singularity futures, futures that can embrace just about any stripe of SF you might imagine.  If you really want to have astrogators plotting their interstellar routes on punch cards fed into the electronic calculator - now you can. (Gotta keep those machines down...).  If you're full-on with steampunk - there's your background for coal-fired FTL drives.  And if you really want to get nasty, you can have your pseudo-Victorian Era Earthmen run afoul of an alien species that embraced a singularic future .  The coal-fired Earthmen will win, of course, because their 'old world tech' can't be affected or influenced by mere electronics.

Hmmm.  I like that one so much I think I'm going to start taking notes...

Google finally unveiled Chrome, the beta edition of its web browser. Long ago, Google has predicted - 'The browser is the platform', keeping it in mind, it released Gogle Gears, now the Chrome. The tab button stikingly resembeles like he Yahoo toolbar, did anyone note that?? Of course, the Yahoo toolbar adds the tab functionality to older IE editions. Cold this be the next big application that will spy on people from now? I remember writing a link on how Google has exploited privacy and security of users..Wow...Is this the biggest spyware we have ever seen?? A note to Paranoids - I cant say for gurantee that Google Chrome is the official spying tool released by Google, but given its past and privacy pundits worried over Google tracking its users habits, trends etc...but in that case, I can safely say - Orkut is the biggest spyware. Enter Orkut, and you will find all fizzy stuff ranging from click trackers, url trackers, content crawlers, etc.

I suggest - take a break..Stay away from the web for some time, maintain a random click pattern that will make Google;s life difficult. ;) Install this wonderful tool, Tor

2 years ago, I remember downloading an IE based slim browser, it was called Browzar. The site's still alive, except that it didnt get a grand attention Chrome's getting.. I think it hasent come out of its beta stage even after 2 years later I downloaded it. Browzar claims to be a paranoid web surfers friend..but as its based on IE, I wont assume anything..Wow, the date matches exactly...Take a look @ this article I had written lonng time back describing Browzar.;)

Als passionierter Fußballfan sollte man auch selbst das runde Leder von Zeit zu Zeit treten. Dies wird bei mir durch die Tatsache erschwert, dass meine Füße nicht meine schnellsten Körperteile sind und deren  Technik von meinen Händen in den Schatten gestellt wird.

Ein schöner Moment zum Ausleben meiner Passion war der Retro Cup in Stuttgart am 9. August. Acht Teams stellten sich der Herausforderung, Fußball wieder weg von Fahnenschwenkern, Aperoltrinkern in VIP-Logen und rosaroten Fußballschals hin zu Schweiß, Tränen und dem Staub eines Kunstrasens zu führen.

Nachdem Günther Schäfer uns den letzten Glauben geraubt hat, dass alle Fußballer etwas im Hirn haben, ... Das Team "Wurst Ullis Millionentruppe" war mit knapp acht Mann und einem unstillbaren Durst nach Erfolg angetreten. Die bunte Mischung hatte es aber schwer gegen die "Springbocks", "Die linke Hand Gottes" und der Mannschaft deren Namen ich vergessen habe.

Nach 11 bekommenen Toren, mein Eigentor mitgerechnet, und einem sebst erzielten, war die Vorrunde schon überstanden und wir konnten uns dem günne's und dem brauch des Stiefeltrinkens widmen.

Kulinarisch gesehen war der Ausflug nach Stuttgart ein Highlight: Sauerbraten mit Spätzle, bizarre Palatschinken-Kreation als Dessert und der erste Tag seit sicherlich zehn Jahren ohne einen einzigen Kaffee. Das Lokal fürs Abendessen möge mir verzeihen: so gut wie das Essen, so beschissen war der Kaffee, weshalb ich letzteren und den Namen des Lokals vergessen habe.

När vi kom hem på kvällen var jag sugen på att spela lite Guitar Hero, det la jag ner ganska fort eftersom jag kände mig hängig och snorig. Och inatt när jag vaknade med en mun torr som en öken insåg jag att förkylningen var här :( Usch usch och inte var det bättre i morse.

Nu sitter jag bara och väntar på att få åka till svärföräldrarna och äta lunch :) Perfekt när man är sjuk att slippa laga mat själv

Interesting enough, I suppose. Other than a brief moment of "what a delightful, noble goal," I didn't give the project much thought...

...until I realized that this exact same piece of technology could get me around Mobile Wrench's corporate firewall.  If the Freedom Stick could circumvent the Chinese Government's web resrictions, odds are it can get by a mere corporate firewall.

And lo-and-behold, a far less noble use for this great development is born; using their software package on a $5 jumpdrive, I can now Facebook and Reddit and Flickr to my heart's content while at work - other than bandwidth & speed concerns (the Tor network tends towards slow at the best of times, so some stuff'll time out regularly), I can go wherever the fuck I feel like online.

Freedom Stick è un software portatile, quindi installabile su una chiavetta USB, che ci permette di navigare su Internet aggirando i firewall hardware presenti in alcune nazioni, come ad esempio la Cina.

Asatroende får begravningsplats

För första gången på 1.000 år får de danska tillbedjarna av de gamla nordiska gudarna Tor, Oden och Loke sin egen begravningsplats. Odense kommun har gett tillstånd till att en hednisk gravplats etableras på Assistenskyrkogården mitt i Odense redan detta år, skriver Kristeligt Dagblad.

De asatroendes största förening i Danmark, Forn Sidr, har tredubblat sitt medlemsantal sedan det blev godkänt som trossamfund av kyrkoministeriet 2003. Därför behövs också begravningsplatser, påpekar föreningens vice ordförande Sören Fisker. Tidigare har de asatroende haft att välja mellan att få sin aska utströdd till havs eller att bli begravda på en kyrkogård.

När vi några timmar senare kommer hem ser jag att något inte är som det var när vi åkte. En skjorta som legat i min väska i hallen ligger lite haffsigt utslängd på golvet och väskan är borta. Hmm...  Fortsätter in i köket och mitt på golvet ligger min väska alldelses platt och ljummen :) Då har stackars morsgrisen Tor släpat min väska som var relativt tung med böcker och allt, från hallen till köket för att ha att ligga på eller bredvid. Han är bara för söt. Inte första gången det händer, han har även hämtat nån av mina tröjor, handduk, skjorta för att ha i bädden eller där han ligger. Så även de har hittats alldeles skrynkliga, håriga och varma. Men vad gör väl det, det är ju en kärleksförklaring på hög nivå! :D

Questo programma sta riducendo fortunatamente il numero di utenti di Internet Explorer, il peggior browser esistente che per anni ha avuto il totale monopolio.

Uno dei numerosi vantaggi di Firefox è la possibilità di aumentarne velocemente le caratteristiche, installando le cosiddette estensioni. Non sono altro che piccoli file scaricabili dal sito ufficiale, alla pagina https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/. Si scaricano in pochissimi secondi e si installano con un clic!

Vista però la loro grande quantità, analizzeremo solo le estensioni migliori, le indispensabili che non devono mai mancare!

NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/722)
Se non lo avete mai utilizzato all'inizio vi farà sentire spaesati, ma dopo averci fatto l'abitudine non potrete piú farne a meno! NoScript blocca infatti tutti i contenuti potenzialmente dannosi o fastidiosi (JavaScript, Flash, l'orrendo Silverlight...). L'utente può creare una lista dei siti affidabili — e quindi abilitati ad eseguire gli elementi suddetti — attivandoli attraverso la piccola icona blu che apparirà in basso a destra. NoScript, inoltre, protegge Firefox da eventuali bug, impedendo il furto di dati personali attraverso la protezione anti-XSS. Un'estensione quindi utilissima, specialmente su Windows.

La maggior parte dei naviganti utilizza Google come motore di ricerca; CustomizeGoogle è fatto apposta per loro! Permette una totale personalizzazione del famoso sito, migliorando l'esperienza dell'utente. Alcune delle sue utili e numerose caratteristiche sono: rimozione delle pubblicità (i riquadri gialli mimetizzati tra i risultati delle ricerche), streaming delle pagine (ovvero navigazione automatica tra le pagine senza doverle sfogliare manualmente), riscrittura dei link in Google Immagini (cioè apertura diretta dell'immagine senza dover passare per il sito da cui è tratta), protezione della privacy (blocco per evitare a Google di memorizzare cookie traccianti)...

Con molti ben sanno, Firefox è in grado di aprire i link in nuove schede facendo clic con il tasto centrale del mouse. Quando però ci imbattiamo in un sito che fa pesante uso di Javascript, non è raro fare clic su un collegamento per aprirlo in un altro tab e ritrovarsi con una pagina vuota! Smart Middle Click permette di correggere questo bug.

Lo ammetto: questa non è assolutamente un'estensione indispensabile, ma può tornare utile se visitiamo spesso determinati siti. Potete buttare via il bottone per tornare alla pagina iniziale: con Throbber Button potete aprire una, due o quante pagine volete facendo clic sul simbolo di caricamento in alto a destra! Una simile funzione era già presente in Firefox 1.5, ma permetteva solo di aprire il sito di Mozilla (non c'era quindi possibilità di personalizzazione).

Ovviamente Torbutton vi sarà utile solo se avete installato Tor: in caso affermativo, permette di attivarlo o disattivarlo, permettendo cosí la navigazione anonima in modo veloce e sicuro. Il breve elenco termina qui: non dev'essere considerato come completo né come reale classifica delle migliori estensioni. Ognuno ha infatti diverse preferenze e utilizza siti differenti: è quindi indispensabile sfogliare manualmente il sito di Mozilla alla ricerca delle estensioni che riteniamo effettivamente utili.

Considerate quindi questo come un breve elenco di alcune estensioni che consiglio per la loro utilità, altissima (nel caso di NoScript e CustomizeGoogle) o meno.
