Ranmaru Shindou se ha graduado como agente de policía, y le han asignado a una división con encargos de dudosa utilidad. Se ve envuelto en incidentes que conllevan mucha sangre y cadáveres mutilados.
Esto le recuerda a una pesadilla recurrente, en la que aparece una mujer con una espada, quien le resulta muy familiar, en el escenario de la muerte de sus padres y muchas otras personas: un barrio ruinoso que tiene un enorme agujero en el suelo. Y de ahí salen demonios.
Pronto Shindou tendrá alguna relación con estos demonios, y con sus respectivos exterminadores, la división Tokkô.

En general no está mal. El diseño de los personajes no termina de convencerme, y los demonios (aquí llamados Phantom) no son nada del otro mundo. Los efectos son bastante buenos.

Sonido: 6
Las voces japonesas están bastante conseguidas, excepto la de Shindou (Kenichi Suzumura: Lavi (D. Gray-Man) y Okita Sougo (Gintama)). ¡Es una voz más cómica que otra cosa! No puedo tomármela en serio.
Los efectos son normalitos tirando a buenos. Y la música, aunque adecuada, pasa desapercibida. El opening y el ending no tienen ningún sentido, pero son inevitablemente pegadizos.

Argumento: 8
El final es demasiado abierto, y quedan varias preguntas en el aire. (Sí, igual que con Loveless) Aunque los 13 episodios están bastante bien aprovechados.
En un principio es acción/gore contra demonios. Sin embargo hay una enorme tendencia a la intriga, y quizás a la ciencia-ficción. Casi se puede valorar mejor esta parte que los combates, que resultan demasiado rápidos.
Hay comedia, pero poquita.

Personajes: 7
Como ya dije, diseños buenos hasta cierto punto. Al menos intentan innovar un poco con el pelo. Cuesta bastante definir a Shindou, pero su empeño por meterse en la boca del lobo puede resultar alarmante. El de carácter más complejo diría que es su jefe Kunikida, que parece un yakuza. Pero apuesto a que la más atrayente será Kureha, por lo despreocupada y erótica que puede llegar a ser.

Conclusión: 6,75
Historieta para adultos de héroes predestinados con un argumento relativamente complejo en 13 episodios. Los que busquen sangre, tetas y "acción invisible" no se sentirán defraudados. Sin embargo, recomendaría más Claymore. (Quizás otro día escriba sobre este anime, o lo haga otra persona)

Potrebbero forse essere aiutate dalla società Kantea GMBH di Bolzano che con bando del 30.8.2008 (dopo conferenza stampa di presentazione del 26.8.2008 a Fortezza) ha offerto un corso per un profilo professionale innovativo, l'Esperto Facilitatore della Trasformazione Territoriale, quale operatore tecnico specializzato in processi di informazione, comunicazione e partecipazione, esperto in tematiche ambientali, territoriali e di promozione culturale, da impiegare come "facilitatore" nei contesti dei grandi progetti culturali, promozionali e di trasformazione territoriale e infrastrutturale, "quali ad esempio il progetto del Brenner BasisTunnel"; il progetto è cofinanziato dal Fondo Sociale Europeo, dal Ministero del Lavoro della Salute e delle Politiche Sociali, dalla Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano ed ha una durata di 1116 ore, di cui 776 ore teorico-pratiche e 340 ore di stage "presso strutture pubbliche e private dell'Alto Adige coinvolte dall'infrastruttura Brenner Basis Tunnel, oppure all'estero (Germania o Inghilterra) presso Enti di Gestione di importanti infrastrutture di comunicazione/trasporto" (dal sito www.kantea.org, 30.8.2008). Scrive in proposito il quotidiano "Alto Adige" del 22.8.2008: "BOLZANO. Sembrava una comunicazione di routine, quella arrivata ieri dalla Provincia. E invece potrebbe sollevare un delicato caso politico con al centro Sandro Angelucci, che era stato il candidato della Sinistra Arcobaleno per il collegio senatoriale in Bassa Atesina alle ultime elezioni politiche. La notizia comunicata dalla Provincia è questa: "Per i lunghi lavori del tunnel del Brennero sono in arrivo nuovi professionisti, i mediatori-informatori. Quello di esperto facilitatore della trasformazione territoriale è infatti il nuovo progetto di formazione professionale finanziato dal Fondo Sociale Europeo. La nuova figura è chiamata a lavorare nei contesti dei grandi progetti di trasformazione del territorio e dell’assetto istituzionale, come ad esempio il tunnel di base del Brennero". La presentazione del progetto è in programma per martedì prossimo, ma si sa già a chi il Fondo sociale europeo lo ha affidato (tra gli sponsor ci sono anche la Provincia e il ministero). Si tratta della cooperativa Kantea, ente di formazione senza fini di lucro a cui il FSE nel 2007 ha affidato una serie di incarichi esterni, in molti casi per alcune decine di migliaia di euro. Ciò che ha fatto storcere il naso a più d’uno dei contrari all’Eurotunnel (ma non solo), è il fatto che l'amministratore delegato di Kantea è Sandro Angelucci. L’accusa che viene mossa è che il candidato principe dei Verdi - il partito ambientalista era il cuore dell’alleanza della Sinistra Arcobaleno che alle elezioni di aprile aveva appoggiato Angelucci nella corsa al seggio senatoriale in Bassa Atesina poi andato a Oskar Peterlini e rappresenta il movimento politico anti-tunnel per eccellenza - ora tiene i corsi per facilitare proprio la realizzazione dell’opera".

La última generación de la Tomografía Axial Computerizada –TAC–, popular por su eficacia para detectar enfermedades en los vivos, se muestra ahora como una herramienta estrella para las prácticas forenses o diagnósticos post mortem. Así lo demuestra un trabajo realizado por varios expertos de la Universidad de Maryland, en Estados Unidos.

Según estos especialistas, las imágenes tridimensionales proporcionadas por los TAC resultarían especialmente interesantes en caso de muerte violenta, como accidentes de tráfico o asesinatos. Las ventajas con respecto a las autopsias tradicionales, en las que se abre en canal al finado, son su rapidez –30 minutos frente a varias horas– y la limpieza, ya que al no ser un procedimiento invasivo no se destruyen pruebas esenciales para esclarecer el motivo del fallecimiento. Además, falicitaría que los familiares con escrúpulos morales o religiosos dieran su consentimiento para que la medicina explorara el interior de sus seres queridos difuntos.

The only downside of it is that it's quite expensive. But after checking the breakdown of charges. The most which make up of the price is the Transport Accident Commission(TAC). According to the website, these charges are used to pay for treatment and support services for people injured in transport accidents. So I'm okay with it and applaud the efforts of the Victorian government on their responsibility for the people.

Another point I really must complement is the easily accessible information that I can get from the internet from these government related websites. Compared to Malaysia, I see that we are going in that direction with the Malaysia's government web portal. But what I see is the lack of standards in technology and design between different ministries. Just look at this website - It's so 1990's. However, I do see some good ones such as the the Ministry of Tourism website and the Ministry of Education site. I have to say, the most web2.0-ish website design would be the Road Transport Department. And what's most interesting while I'm trying to finish up this entry, I found out from the RTD website that you can actually renew your road tax here http://www.myeg.com.my/. And yes, Maya Karin includes with the package ;). Looks like RTD commisioned a third party company to handle a government online system. Typical.

Pilotos de todas as unidades de caça da Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB) estarão em Campo Grande (MS), de 25 de agosto a 3 de setembro, para uma das mais tradicionais competições operacionais da aviação militar: o XXVIII Torneio da Aviação de Caça (TAC). São mais de quatro décadas de disputa no país.Por dez dias, os 11 esquadrões de caça da FAB disputarão entre si o título de campeão da competição, em provas de ataque ao solo e navegação à baixa altura, além de provas esportivas, como corrida de orientação e tiro.

As missões reais serão realizadas num cenário fictício, no qual a Base Aérea de Campo Grande é o centro de operações aéreas das forças de coalizão lideradas pelo país “Carandá”, sob ordens da “Organização do Tratado do Atlântico Sul”. Nesse ambiente, a FAB participa do esforço mundial contra a guerra iniciada por “Sarandi”, país que tenta impedir de modo violento a independência de “Xaraes”.

Na segunda-feira (25), as aeronaves chegarão a Campo Grande, a partir das 13h. Participam da disputa os caças F-5EM, F-2000, A-1, A-29 e AT-26, além de aeronaves-radar (E-99), helicópteros de transporte H-1H e H-34, e um avião SC-95 Bandeirante da Aviação de Busca e Resgate. “O TAC é uma atividade operacional que tem como objetivos, dentre outros: consolidar e aprimorar a doutrina de emprego, além de permitir o intercâmbio de conhecimentos entre os Esquadrões participantes e a avaliação da nossa aviação de caça no emprego operacional”, afirma o Brigadeiro-do-Ar Gerson Nogueira Machado de Oliveira, comandante da Terceira Força Aérea (IIIFAE), que comanda das Aviações de Caça e de Reconhecimento da FAB.

Na primeira semana, os esquadrões receberão relatórios de reconhecimento dos alvos e planejarão missões reais de ataque. Entre os dias 28 e 29, serão realizados 94 ataques contra as posições inimigas do cenário fictício de combate, com o emprego de uma bomba inerte de treinamento, que não explode nem causa danos à área de emprego. A localização dos alvos será mantida sob sigilo até a emissão das ordens de ataque, nos primeiros dias da competição.

A imprensa poderá conhecer de perto o torneio operacional nos dias 25 de agosto (de 13h às 17h), quando da chegada dos caças a Campo Grande, e no dia 28 de agosto, no primeiro dia de decolagens para as missões de ataque, a partir de 8 horas (horário a confirmar). Be honest. Look at the following two pictures. What words would you use to describe them?

Fun? Artistic? Creative? Youthful? Energetic? Innocent?

OR

Boring? Mature? Useful, but not creative? 1 colour. Business. Serious.

OK, I'll admit, there are some people who can be pretty darned creative (and mighty) with a pen and, if you tried to write that cheque or sign that contract with a crayon, you might get kicked out of the bank. But for the most part, I think we can agree that on the face of it, the crayons would seem to be a more creative tool. So, when's the last time you coloured? Was it with your child, your grandchild, niece, nephew, ...? When's the last time you said "I'm going to colour today!" and not have a child involved. Why is that? (gee, I guess I'm getting my question quota in today aren't I?)

I'm reminded of a friend who tells a story of her son who, when looking at black and white photos, asked when colour was invented. Afterall, if he looks at current photos, they reflect the colour he sees in the world, so, in his little boy logic, the world used to be black and white. Sadly, I think that what happens in our daily, so called mature, responsible lives, is that we forget to bring colour into it. We hide behind the safety of black and white. That co-worker who writes with the purple pen - do you really take her seriously? This even applies to clothing -- what's the serious business person's uniform -- a little black dress or a black suit. Occasionally you'll see a guy with a fun tie, but it's not usually the CEO. You don't often see vibrant purple dresses in the office either. It's a shame really. I think we should all have a bit more colour in our lives.

So, what do I do when I want more colour? -- well, that often involves a can of paint. But, if I'm trying to do something a bit smaller than a room, I pull out my Many Marvelous Markers (aka Stampin'Write Markers), my Stampin' Pastels and my Watercolour crayons (seriously, who knew you could make stuff look like watercolour painting when you just need pencils). These three tools allow me to help colouring grow up but still have a great deal of fun. If you don't know what those are, check out Page 163 in the Stampin'Up Catalogue and you'll see. I'll be posting some samples of what I've done with these, but it's currently 8:30 am in Beijing, I think they're going to start some sporting event soon so I'm off to watch TV.

Since it's Wednesday, it's also time for me to update this week's fun link.  This time, I'm sending you to Tetes-A-Claques TV.  For the francophones in the audience, you probably already know TAC.   For the Anglos, you're in for some fun.  For a couple year's now, we've been enjoying the hilarity of these goof balls.  Now, they've translated some of their content to English.   Unfortunately, one of my early favourites "le Willy Waller" hasn't been translated to English yet, but frankly, even if all you have is a little bit of French, I think you can appreciate it.    So, go laugh and let the creativity flow.

A iniciativa é um artifício utilizado pelas casas lotéricas de Cuiabá (e de todo o País) como forma de ampliar as chances de prêmios dos apostadores nos sorteios da CEF (Caixa Econômica Federal).

Na semana passada, o Procon, por meio de uma determinação cautelar, suspendeu a realização dos chamados ‘bolões’ porque as apostas feitas nessas circunstâncias não garantem ao apostador o recebimento no rateio. “A Caixa só premia o portador do título, não os espelhos de apostas feitas pelos proprietários das lotéricas.

Queremos garantir que o apostador não seja prejudicado pela inconsistência no processo de distribuição do rateio”, disse Ricardo Siqueira.

Na manhã de hoje (18-08), o secretário de Governo de Cuiabá, Andelson Gil do Amaral, o diretor do Procon, Ricardo Siqueira, o presidente da Junta de Conciliação e Julgamento do Procon Municipal, advogado Eduardo Rodrigues, reuniram-se com os lotéricos, quando ficou para a próxima quarta-feira (20-08), a elaboração do termo que vai impor normas para garantir não apenas o título premiado, mas os espelhos das apostas – ou bolões.

Ricardo diz que o Procon não pretende punir ou proibir por proibir. “Queremos apenas que sejam definidos instrumentos que dêem segurança a todos os apostadores em caso de acertarem os jogos”.

A ameaça de se proibir de se fazer os bolões por parte das lotéricas estava deixando bastante gente preocupada, inclusive com o desemprego. As atendentes das lotéricas seriam as mais prejudicadas, já que muitas ganham comissão sob o faturamento dessa modalidade de jogo. Prevaleceu o bom senso.

Yesterday, Mr Ho, an analyst from Singapore, gave a speech in an investment seminar held by Kim Eng Vietnam on the stock market of Vietnam. During the speech, he shared with investors the following:

Market Direction
Mr Ho told that investment in the stock market needs to be taken in perspective of other alternative avenues of investment, including the investment in fixed deposits at the bank. He felt that the market has moved up too far and too fast and the earnings yield (inverse of PE ratio) is now rather high compared to the high rate of interest that you can earn from putting your money in the banks.

• Focus on their core business; Avoid those that branch out into unrelated businesses like real estate or securities business etc.;
• Strong underlying business, i.e. businesses that fulfill a basic need of the economy and are not as exposed to economic fluctuations
• Selling prices of the companies' goods are not regulated by the government
• Stable operating costs, with little need to keep investing in capital expenditure to generate business
• Good operating cash flow

He advises investors to avoid "bad" companies which are:

• Diversified into non-related business lines
• Uses raw materials which are prone to rising costs and the selling price is capped by the government
• Negative operating cash flow which necessitates the company to keep going to the banks or equity markets to raise additional capital to maintain the business

An example that Mr Ho gives of companies which are not good investments are those that produce cement. These companies have their selling price regulated by the government and need to import clinker overseas of which the price has risen dramatically. With a fixed selling price and rising costs, the profit can only drop.

Mr Ho feels that this is now the time to identify companies that will be superior investments for the long term. These superior investments will have the following chacteristics:

• Benefit from long term economic trend
• Competitive advantage (e.g. brand name/distribution network)
• Financial and management strength to endure economic hardship
• Good operating cashflow

As an example of companies that fit the bill, Mr Ho cites 3 companies: Phy My Fertilizer (DPM), Petrolvietnam Drilling (PVD) and Tuong An Vegetable Oil (TAC).
