There you go... Each quiz says that I'm pretty liberal.  In fact, I tend to identify more with the Green Party than with the Democrats; I still support the Democratic candidates over the Greens because everyone knows that no third-party ever has a legitimate shot at winning anything.  Maybe I'll change that someday; I'll run for state legislature (though not here) as a Green.  Maybe I can pull a miracle.

Niccolo Adami, an Agorist and Christian Anarchist whom I have a profound respect for has written his thoughts on the importance the Agorist theory of class and its importance to Agorism as a movement.  He, quite rightly, states that Agorist class theory is an essential understanding that explicitly defines friend from foe, binding the Agorist and providing a sense of purpose and belonging amongst his fellows.  It leads the Agorist to reject political solutions to statism, for failing to strike the root of the problem.  But most of all it tells the Agorist who he can trust.  Agorist Class Theory, is a rarely focussed upon element that is essential in setting Agorism apart from movements such as Marxism, and even mainstream libertarianism.

To keep things simple, Agorist Class Theory is the understanding that the state, by nature, exists by plundering the people at the point of a gun.  Those that benefit from the state and have a vested interest in the continuation of the state are thereby deemed the political class.  Their relationship with the rest of society involves one of coercion, theft and parasitic living of the labour of others.  However, those that would use violence and coercion for their own ends - the red market - are seen by Agorists as an extension of the state.  These thugs merely spar with the legal thugs of the state on a dailey basis, both sides relying on violence and force to meet their goals.  Those who must suffer this plunder and violence are the people, the counter economy.  These have been called "The Entrepreuneriat" and are the real producers in society and the only ones who can legitimately own property.  And yet this is the greatest distinction, the political class and its subclass of the Red Market, can own no property.  They produce nothing for society.  They are parasites who navigate their way through society by plunder alone, use force to attain what is not rightfully theirs.  But then the question of the 'middle class' arises.  Who in this spectrum of exploiters and producers can we call the middle class?  The 'middle class' of this spectrum are those who are neither greatly exploitative or productive, but instead mix statist and counter economic actions.

Every action can hence be judged either counter economic (and thus "positive, Anarchist and productive") or statist (inherently statist, coercive and destructive).  As Agorism is a philosophy influenced greatly by individualism, each individual will find themselves judged on an individual basis.  Their actions can be consistantly evaluated in order to determine where along the scale that individual lies, and to what extent the Agorist can trust them.

Then the astute listener would naturally throw in what appears a question, such as, "what about single mothers on welfare?"  Which has all the elements of a very sticky question, for a single mum with a young child can hardly be considered a politician in office recieivng a public salary.  Due to the lack of information, the individual can only be judged to sit among the 'middle class' of the spectrum.  Although she deserves no disrespect from any Agorist, there isn't enough information to determine effectively where this women stands.  Although she can recieve goods and services provided from the Agorist counter economy, she should not be trusted by the Agorist.  If she had no other alternative than to go on welfare or starve, she would be a prime candidate for Agorist mutual aid projects or even employment in the counter economy for cash payments.  However, if it was learned that the women was a public, aggressive advocate for an increase in welfare payments for single mothers, she suddenly becomes untrustworthy.  She has little to no right to demand a bigger cut of the money that belongs to other people -- some probably in the same situation as herself.

Another interesting issue that arises out of class theory is that of wage slavery.  A particularly favourite topic among libertarian Communists and Syndicalists, wage slavery is one that can be easily defined with Agorist class theory.  As Brad Spangler writes in his foreward for Agorist Class Theory,

"There isn't anything virtuous in subtly coercing compliance with demands for labour on dictated terms, including wage rates."

Wage slavery, whether people wish to admit it or not, does exist.  Those supporters of the state often require large amounts of labour.  Rather than properly negotiate with the worker on mutually agreeable terms, as is done on the freed market, social and market pressures can be manipulated into 'convincing' the employee to work on the terms of the employer.  In short, the market is tilted in favour of employers deeply involved in the political class.  This is maintained through subsidies, restrictions on market entry, the specific designing of bigger factories and plants specifically to atomise and control workers, regulations and the restriction on the ability for competitive organisations to operate.

Anyone who doubts the revolutionary or left designation Agorists claims for themselves need only look at Agorist Class Theory to verify the movements credentials.  Agorist Class Theory defines Agorism, setting it apart from Anarcho-Capitalism, Libertarianism and Marxism.  Anyone who would like to read a fuller, more detailed explanation of Agorist class theory and its origins can find the file located at the bottom of this page in the 'box.net' widget.  Enjoy.

Det har varit långa och tuffa dagar även denna vecka. I torsdags arbetade man ifrån tidig morgon till nästan två på natten. Det tar på krafterna men är motiverade och jobbar på. Hellre att det får ta lite extra tid för att få till en riktigt bra film.

I torsdags var det dags för en komplicerad scen inne på ett "värdshus" där de olika svärdsmännen utmanar varandra. Detta utspelar sig i långhuset på Hornbore By. Att ta scener med många skådespelare och mycket rekvisita kräver tålamod och full koncentration hos alla, framförallt eftersom inpelningen inte sker i kronologisk ordning. Bara att hålla koll så alla levande ljus har rätt längd kan driva ge även drivna skriptor och rekvisitörer gråa hår. Att ha en levande eld mitt i bild ger det en dimension till - fast man slipper ha rökmaskin. Konstaterade just att mikrofonen på dokumentärkameran är ordentligt inpyrd...

Vi har haft vädlig tur med statister. Vi har fått tag på duktiga statister som i de flesta fall även har egna vikingakläder. På torsdag morgonen var det dock lite kris. Det saknades två män för att fylla ut värdshusscenen. Men Anders lyckades hitta två tyskar på campingen som glatt ställde upp. De skulle egentligen just checka ut och åka vidare. Men det är ju inte var dag man får chans att vara med i en film, så de ändrade resplanerna och ställde upp. Annars så söker vi statister via olika förmedlingssidor, där hittar som som är intresserad information. Men nu är det inte många dagar kvar.
