Ok, I'm not really in the mood to write this, but...I can force myself to write this for an anime this damn good. You know how many anime have epic moments, but they are few and far in between? Well TTGL does those epic moments, but they aren't few and far in between. You'll be treated with epicness every episode and it alway somehow seems better than the last. This is one of those anime that sets the par for new anime to come.

Animation - 10/10
It really seems like I've been giving quite a few 10 in animation recently (except with Monster), but that's because I like different sorts of art styles and animations. Even characters that are drawn very basically with no real detail is fine with me as long as it's not often. I love the animations in TTGL and all the characters are well done. When they are happy it shows and when they are sad you really can see and feel the change in their appearance to show that intense sadness. The battles between the Gunmen (it's been awhile, that is what the mechs are called right?), which are piloted by beastmen, are always awesome to watch. I love how the Gunmen show expressions on their faces like the characters even though they are just mechs.

Sound - 10/10
I had no problems with the music. I thought the opening and ending (even though I can't remember them as I type this) fit well with the anime. You also gotta love "ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWA." They did a really good job during the epic battles or emotional moments with the music because it just adds to your excitement or whatever your feeling.

Story - 8/10
No I did not give the story a 10, but don't get me wrong...the story is still really good. Humanity lives underground because above ground is the threat of the Gunmen. Simon is a young boy who digs holes to...what exactly is he doing it for again? Was it to find things or to expand the village? Whatever. That's what he is doing and then their's Kamina whom Simon looks up to and calls Bro. Kamina is a very strong willed individual who is tired of living underground and wants to go to the surface like his father before him. Simon is willing to go where ever Kamina goes and any attempt they make at getting to the surface fails and they get caught and it trouble by the village elder.
One day however, they get there chance as a Gunmen falls through the roof and attacks the village. A mysterious girl wielding a sniper rifle appears and helps Simon and Kamina fight the Gunmen. Simon just recently found a mech underground and they head to this mech and now the real fight begins...
The story has excellent twists and again action scenes. I won't lie, I'm not a fan of mech animes, but TTGL just knows how to do it right. This anime takes EPIC to a whole new level as the story progresses.

Character - 9/10
The characters are all very well done. Everyone has their own values and even the bad guys have good reasons for their actions which changes your views of them. Simon and Kamina though and we'll throw in Viral from the bad guys, are just so awesome because they are...they don't need a reason. Don't worry, I DO like Yoko just these three are my favorite characters...heck, I like almost all the characters. The character development is done pretty well especially with Simon who at the beginning is a unsure, fearful boy, but by the end is a man looked up to by practically the whole world. I haven't even mentioned that this anime is funny. The character are great at doing or saying hilarious things even in the midst of an epic battle. They are able to make serious moments funny without losing the seriousness of it.

Overall - The average is...9.25/10. My personal score not caring about average is a 10/10. This anime is just too good to pass up and is a must see. The action and comedy are well blended and even the sad moments are well placed and very sad. Even if you don't like mechas, remember, neither do me and Wej and this is one of our favorites.

This is the one anime that really opened me up to mecha's. I don't think any other mecha (except Code Geass) can compare to the brilliance of this anime.

This anime brakes the chain of crazy. It starts out with Simon fighting to see the surface world, and ends very very VERY far past that. Some people might think that it happens all too fast, but I say thats what really makes it entertaining.

Simon finds this tiny robot/mecha thingy while trying to expand the village he lives in underground. Kamina, one of the most lively characters I have seen, is who Simon looks up to. Kamina is convinced there is a world on the surface, and he plans on going to it. One of the mecha thingys brakes through the ceiling of their village, and Kamina starts to fight it without really thinking about it.

Well, eventually they get to the surface and find another one of those mecha things, and Kamina is fucking awsome! I don't want to ruin anything for you guys, so I won't say much more about the main stuffs.

Animation: 9/10
Hmmm.... It has been awhile since I have seen the anime, I am not sure what to say about the art style. It is good, I know that, but I don't remember it being anything special. They did have these cool looking drawing things, as a fade out, at the end of almost every episode I believe.
The only thing that really bugged me though:

She is cute, but I hate her eyes. The flower things in them don't look good...

The other songs however, I really don't like, but don't hate. They do fit the anime really really well. I just don't really like them...like the "Fight the POWER" song, just not my type of music.

As explained above, the story is beyond crazy. It has everything from awkward moments with the gay mechanic, to one of the saddest turns you will find in an anime! Yes, it made me cry a little...

This is actually one of the first anime's Avalon downloaded and had me watch. It fit my wide screen monitor perfectly, and was great quality too. So that made me happy.

Each day for the past 365 days, has been a ride in a spiral not a circle. I would like to say a circle--a full circle-- but, it is not so. It is a spiral where we sometimes go up and sometimes we slide down gently. For me the gentle slides are fewer than the express slide to the blues. Lately, the express has made less stops or else I have stopped getting on that route a little less.

My youngest daughter has grown a lot over the last 365 days. The medication no longer exists in her life and the highs and lows are back, but she is taking control of them rather than letting them take control of her. My grandson is starting to walk and begin his second year of life. As we celebrate his birthday soon, I will be celebrating that these last 365 days are behind me. The future is still in a spiral, but at least I feel there will be a future where there are less slides and more love.

Whenever I watch So You Think You Can Dance I end up leaping around the house, throwing my arms wildly about, and generally making a fool of myself in front of a mirror.  The kids on this show are SOOOO talented and I just finished the Tivo'd episode where they unveiled the top ten dancers.  I love the group that is left!  And they had their first Bollywood routine which was fantastic.  Yippy for getting off our bootys and shaking them!

On the other hand, I'm still not sure where I stand with Nancy. We're getting together tonight so maybe we can clear things up a bit, but I'm mostly OK with the gray area. Even though the whole sex thing has been on my mind (constantly), we're not exclusive and I'm free to fulfill that need elsewhere; I just need to develop that kind of a relationship with someone else or I might go crazy.

Sex is a very important part of a romantic relationship for me, though. In fact, it's a deal breaker. If a woman won't have sex with me, then the relationship is over. Period. And if it doesn't happen soon enough, then I'll lose interest and pursue someone else. It isn't an ultimatum, though. It's something I need, something I want them to need, and something to bring us closer together.

For me, sex-or rather lack thereof--is really a cruel spiral. The less sex I have, the more sex consumes my mind. Soon I stop thinking about who I'm meeting and start thinking only about how I can get in their pants. Of course, that just makes it all the more difficult to meet someone worthwhile and get to know them, and then I'm turning off all the decent women who I'd really like to be intimate with, physically and otherwise, while attracting relationships I won't pursue because I am so uninterested.

• You need to confess the sin to others. This is the single most difficult step you will ever take, but the only way to break free. I assure you, if you do not take this step then at some point your secret will be found and the consequences will be so much higher. It will be a pain and emotional ache like you have never felt before.

1. Confess it to someone, anyone, even if it is a comment left on this blog.
2. Confess it to an individual of authority at a safe church. If you do not feel safe confessing at your church then find one that is safe.
3. Confess it to your closest family.

• Find a purity group and an accountability partner immediately.

• Start reading books on the issue of sexual addiction and sexual purity.

• Start a daily journal on your struggle. Don’t just write about facts, but dig deep into the emotional impact of events and situations. You will have to get in touch with your feelings and emotions to have lasting victory. Journaling will help you gain that grasp.

• You may need professional counseling from a Christian based expert in this area.

Each of these points can be expounded on more, and hopefully I will go into more detail for each in future posts. I urge you take the step to confess your struggle. This will not be an easy battle, and it will certainly not be pretty, but the alternative is so much worse. You will always be a slave to this hell without fighting against it.

Pride was a little extra large this year, seemingly taking up more park space and I'm proud of that growth and support by the Michigan Community. 

That night the group of us headed to Spiral, one of the better gay clubs in Michigan.  Although there were moments where I couldn't move because of the crowd, I was surprised we were able to make it in.  There was a moment where I brushed up against 4 cops trying to brush through the crowd, probably checking capacity for fire safety.  The music was awesome: I didn't stop dancing all night, and it cured my vertigo I was experiencing after enduring heat exhaustion at Pride.  I guess if you have enough fun you can mix beer with liquor, in that order.

Of course I met some gorgeous guys, but I had the most fun dancing with my girl friend, Autumn.  I think, having enough experience going to clubs, I know what guys want, just like the song.  But, I don't need that to have fun, and last night I had one of the best club experiences of my life.     

If it is the only Pride I attend this year, I am glad it was in my great state's capitol with some of my greatest friends.

For those that know me my hair is almost always in a ponytail or bun. Especially when I'm doing a daily sport.
