I'm beginning to wonder. Are these fears of getting hurt standing in my way to have a relationship or am I just not a relationship type of person? I know I still miss my hideaway. Sometimes I just like to be left alone although I enjoy the company of my friend(s).

I don't know. Maybe I still need some space for myself. Perhaps all I need is just a friend, not a boyfriend. I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just confused. It could be that I'm just a scaredy, not a loner --or vice versa.

A tam... No cóż wiadomo, że Snoop nigdy nie należał do grzecznych muzyków. Zawsze lubił zaskakiwać i krążyć wokół tematów seksualnych.

Dziewczyna zgłosiła swoją prośbę do menadżera muzyka.

via Hip Hop DX

When Snoop Dogg paid homage to the late Johnny Cash on the record “My Medicine,” it was obvious that his influences ran far deeper than just Hip Hop. Taking that idea to the next level, Snoop is gearing up to release a clothing line solely inspired by men like Cash who push their success to the limit.

Titled Rich & Infamous, the clothing brand is described on the official website as “A fraternity of sorts -- from presidents to gangsters -- who've been able to endure the burden of gaining wealth at any cost. Garnering equal parts admiration and disdain, these men savor the fruits and relish the spotlight.” Jimi Hendrix, Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, and Muhammad Ali, among many others, are all included in Snoop Dogg’s euphoric aspirations to make Rich & Infamous a powerful brand.

The clothing line will make its first public appearance at the Magic Fashion Tradeshow in Las Vegas this week, presented by Snoop Dogg himself. Being savvy promoters though, Snoop and his brand manager Robert Thorne are looking to make Rich & Infamous the brand of choice for men ages 18-35. Setting up cross promotion networking, they plan to have Rich & Infamous heavily featured in Snoop's E! reality TV series Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood, as well as other outlets like music videos, CD packaging, and film spots in the very near future.

Thorne, who is the CEO of the Robert Thorne Company, explained to Variety that his and Snoop Dogg’s decision to integrate the clothing line into countless media outlets is a venture few entertainers choose to take. “Big stars usually don't spend a lot of time promoting the brand,” he said. However, with Snoop, he sees a man who is creating a brand that is designed to stand the test of time. “This is no longer 'I'm going to make a few extra bucks.' Now it's about 'How am I going to make this about who I am and make this last a decade or two or more?”

A funeral director and ex-drug addict have an organization called Scared Straight that targets young drug addicts and tries to scare the s**t out of them. This article is pretty interesting and the tactic Scared Straight uses with youth is controversial.

James Lathlin used to be hooked on crack cocaine.

Now the addict turned activist is warning youth about the destruction caused by drug abuse.

He's teaming up with funeral director Curtis Monkman of Prairieland Aboriginal Funeral Home on Selkirk Avenue to show children drug victims in their caskets.

"I tell kids you only live once, and you've seen where my old lifestyle took me," said Lathlin. "I could easily be dead but I chose education instead."

Lathlin, who runs counselling workshops called Scared Straight, aims to use this approach to persuade youngsters to stay away from drugs.

This is about two disparate TV shows. One is now history, the other continues. Both focused on drug

This is about two disparate TV shows. One is now history, the other continues. Both focused on drug dealers in the early 21st Century. The shows are The Wire and Weeds. I'm not going to promote the latter, and as the former has finished it's run, I'll just state the obvious. If you want them they are available for purchase or rent.

Weeds has as its premise, upper middle class wife in California, suddenly widowed, & heavily in debt becomes a pot dealer. In the most cloying flashbacks ever, her late husband is shown as some kind of saint. The barf factor is high and doesn't stop. The writer(s) obviously got their street smarts from an old Starsky & Hutch show. This woman wouldn't last a day in the real world of dopers. In fact, she'd more likely be a vic on a CSI slab, for a nice crossover sweeps stunt, those network humps love.

The cast, who I decline to mention by name, is so filled with cliched posers & over-acters, it appears that was the goal in casting them. It's garbage, the kind of program that thinks having a cameo by Snoop Dog is the height of clever. There is a character named Snoop in The Wire. That Snoop is one of the scariest bitches in history. Not TV history---all of history. If only she'd shown up on that MILF Meets Dogg ep! Now that would've been stunt casting!

The Wire is nothing short of the best TV show ever. Sure it has cops, lawyers & drug dealers. The like of which has rarely been seen in a major television production. The writing & acting burned with verisimilitude. Partly because, some of those people were from the streets of Baltimore, where The Wire is set. Characters were multi-layered and had story arcs which went from the first episode of the first season to the last of the series, a five year span.

I've stated before, nothing on TV, especially the so called news is that real, all the time. No work of fiction puts you there, it just can't do it. Even when you're there, you miss some things. Life is Rashomon, like it or not. By accident, the news gets it correct occasionally. When a TV writer gives the extra effort to give the viewer a genuine catharsis, it's as gratifying as it is rare.

The characters of The Wire are written and acted so well, you can't help but care about even the bad guys. As with most good writing, it was a close call, who was good. No one was left without a flaw. Most of them the tragic kind. Any attempt to choose the standouts in this would virtually demand a cut & paste of the cast list. Even as I write this, I keep thinking of how to limit it to maybe three, and it's impossible.

And there are astonishingly fluid relationships. Things you don't see coming, even when you're looking for it. Some of these actors created characters so indelible, they will be forever recognized. Sure, that happens a lot. But I assure you mostly it happens due to quantitative reasons. This is purely qualitative.

For me, there is more evil in a scene of Weeds where a leering Snoop Dogg is rapping how he'd like to fuck Mary Louise Parker, than any sociopathic hit Snoop executes in The Wire. She is doing her job from her POV, as we see it, a reprehensible job, given impetus by a world she didn't create, just uses her regrettable skill to survive it. The teleplay of the other Snoop has him being him all right, but it's a contrived scene born of the fevered imagination of a lameass, sitting in her SoCal dreamland.

Weeds, named after one of the many slang terms for marijuana, belongs in the weeds. The Wire, which is cop talk for a phone tap, electric with a message, pumped along a wire from the twisted soul of an inner city nightmare to the true heart of art.

Before Jay-Z had his "Izzo". Before Snoop found his "Fo' schizzle bizzle". Frankie Smith was plizzayin' dizzouble dizzutch and introducing folks to hip hop's version of Pig Latin. The guy in the funny hat above was the one who introduced the "Izz" to hip hop culture back in 1981 with his song Double Dutch Bus. Since the track was regarded as R&B - the true introduction apparently came from E-40 (ahem...Ben).

Millze cillzan sillzome ....plilzay dilzzouble dilzutch!
Hilzzoo?
My gizzirl!
Brillzing her izzin!

Straight from the Wiki:

Although there are no hard-and-fast rules governing its usage, in general, the izz infix technique is performed by inserting izz, usually after a word's last pre-vowel consonant in its final syllable without deleting any letters.

Examples: minute becomes minizzute, and Kazakhstan becomes Kazakhstizzan. One-syllable words generally translate better with this technique: cream becomes crizzeam, for example.

It can also be performed by inserting izz at the beginning of a lone vowel: I becomes Izzi and O becomes Izzo. This specific technique is implemented in Jay-Z's song "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" found on his album The Blueprint. (more here...)

Give the song a try. It starts doin' the Izz around 1:52.

Frankie Smith's "Double Dutch Bus" - HERE

The most straight-up homage to it would most likely be Missy Elliot's "Gossip Folks" (below)

This track inspired me to make a roller skating mix that I'll post next week...

So, here we are at part III of the

(To see the most up-to-date entries go to www.drivebywriter.com)

So, here we are at part III of the most inane songs and this one will be fun. To appreciate Gin and Juice you have to listen to The Gourds version. That’s how I realized just how lame this song is. Snoop’s supposed to be representing and the song represents nothing. Coming to you from South Central there’s no mention of cops or riots. Ice Cube captured South Central perfectly with The Predator, a gut-wrenching powerhouse album where even the weakest song, It was a Good Day, was full of drama.

Let’s look at the lyrics:

With so much drama in the L-B-C
It's kinda hard bein Snoop D-O-double-G

As you will discover in this song there is no drama. Mr. Dogg sets us up thinking there’ll be a drive-by and we get nothing. No looting, no rioting, no nothing. I think it’s harder being me than the D-O-double-G.

But I, somehow, some way
Keep comin up with funky ass shit like every single day
May I, kick a little something for the G's (yeah)
and, make a few ends as (yeah!) I breeze, through
Two in the mornin and the party's still jumpin
cause my momma ain't home

I never realized Dogg was a mamma’s boy. What kind of pansy are you anyway, Mr. Dogg? You’re a hardcore rapper. Have your party, bitch slap your mamma into San Diego if she objects to your party. What a wuss.

I got bitches in the living room gettin it on
and, they ain't leavin til six in the mornin (six in the mornin)

I think you exaggerate Mr. Dogg. You’ve already told us you’re a mamma’s boy. You’ll probably whine and tell them they can’t stay later than 10 because you have to clean up.

So what you wanna do, sheeeit
I got a pocket full of rubbers and my homeboys do too

Any cool rapper is going to call a condom anything but a condom or a rubber. I bet the only rubber you and your homeboys have are party balloons you can twist into a poodle.

So turn off the lights and close the doors
But (but what) we don't love them hoes, yeah!
So we gonna smoke a ounce to this
G's up, hoes down, while you motherfuckers bounce to this

The only bouncing going on at this party is on the outdoor trampoline with safety doors so Dogg won’t hurt his head when he falls off.

Chorus: repeat 2X

Rollin down the street, smokin ENDO, sippin on gin and juice
Laid back [with my mind on my money and my money on my mind] Most likely money his poor mother gave him.

Uh-huh.

Verse Two:

Now, that, I got me some Seagram's gin
Everybody got they cups, but they ain't chipped in
Now this types of shit, happens all the time
You got to get yours but fool I gotta get mine

That is the only drama in the song. Some of Mr. Dogg’s friends haven’t chipped in for the gin. At least shoot one of them. You don’t even give us that. You tell us there’s so much drama in LBC but you do nothing but whine about how your freeloading friends haven’t given you money for booze. You’re a millionaire rap star, you can afford the gin.

Everything is fine when you listenin to the D-O-G
I got the cultivating music that be captivating he
who listens, to the words that I speak

Yes, everything is fine. There is no drama.

As I take me a drink to the middle of the street
and get to mackin to this bitch named Sadie (Sadie?)
She used to be the homeboy's lady (Oh, that bitch)
Eighty degrees, when I tell that bitch please
Raise up off these N-U-T's, bitch you gets none of these

You’re selfish, Mr. Dogg. You won’t even let these lovely ladies have any Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts. I’m sure you hid the Honey Roasted ones, too.

At ease, as I mob with the Dogg Pound, feel the breeze
beeeitch

The only breeze I feel is the hot air coming from your mouth.

Chorus

Verse Three:

Later on that day
My homey Dr. Dre came through with a gang of Tanqueray
And a fat ass J, of some bubonic chronic that made me choke
Shit, this ain't no joke
I had to back up off of it and sit my cup down
Tanqueray and chronic, yeah I'm fucked up now

It’s really hard to get gin. You go to liquor store and buy it. You make it sound like Dre cut through red tape to get it. Why didn’t you have him rob the liquor store?
Then you tell us what a pansy you are. You can’t even smoke a joint. Come on Dogg, suck that thing down like a man. I don’t believe Dre brought pot, probably just candy cigarettes.

But it ain't no stoppin, I'm still poppin
Dre got some bitches from the city of Compton
To serve me, not with a cherry on top
Cause when I bust my nut, I'm raisin up off the cot

I’m not sure what that means but whatever it means I’m sure you didn’t do it. I’m more hardcore than you could ever be. (Note: After thinking about what this means I think I know what it means but since Snoop didn’t really have sex, it matters not if the girl was on top or bottom. If I’m wrong please correct me.)

Don't get upset girl, that's just how it goes
I don't love you hoes, I'm out the do'
I'm out, peace

I’m sure you’re out, Mr. Dogg, out with your friends after you lied to them about the cool party you had when all you really did when your parents were gone was study for your math test.
This song is a disappointment and the first to score a perfect 10. You can’t set us up with the promise of drama and not deliver, Mr. Dogg. Next time, at least give us a mild brawl.

Next: Seasons in the Sun

A sword with flash led blade and with a rotating ball in the middle of the handle. I never done light photography as of yet and just want to do some test. This toy made that opportunity possible. I grabbed my tripod set me camera to manual, configure the settings, pre focused, set the time and off I went. I tried to make letters but since the sword flashes it did not work out very well. So instead I grabbed some string and tied it to the sword and began raving with it. I was actually pleased with the two shots I got and at the same time it was very enjoyable. Without further ado here are the two shots.

Here we go again with the lists, but I can't help myself. I was having a conversation (IM) with your boy Jackpot and we were going back and forth on who gives the best interviews, inspired by none other than Jim Jones, who was my most recent interview on Behind The Grind which we put on Global Grind last week. So we came up with a list of the most entertaining interviews in hip hop. We agreed on the first 3, but then went off on our own for the last two. here they are.

1. 50 Cent - no one entertains us more than 50 during his interviews. We are not sure whether this is a brilliantly structured deliberate publicity move on his part and that of his team, or just downright foolishness when the camera light goes on. We are leaning more towards the former, because we know that 50 is that calculated with his career. Either way, it makes for a helluva show, whether it's a 5-min internet clip he throws up on thisis50.com or a 30-minute sit down with MTV. We luhs it.

2. Kanye West - Kanye is also a great interview. Although he doesn't do them as much, we wish he'd spare us the internet written bloggin and go full speed ahead with the all-out videos. Just imagine how much fun it'd be to watch Kanye do the vblogs a la Diddy. In the middle of the video, he'd straight spazz on himself and break his own computer.

3. Jim Jones - Unlike 50, we are all going to vote that Jim Jones' on camera tactics are not deliberate, but rather unintentionally comical. It's his animated delivery, his Jimm-er-ish speech and disregard for subject matter that we love the most. He is one of the very few interviews where you never know what you're gonna get but can pretty much bank on the fact that you're gonna get something good. I love that he will dis anybody anywhere and not give a fidduck.

4. Khia - I'm not sure if Khia has actually ever been interviewed, or if she has only really interviewed herself, but either way, I love to watch her talk about nothing. Even in the longest of clips, she manages to entertain us with her blatant disregard for industry politics and ghetto-fied drama.

5. Yung Berg - (I thought about giving this last spot to a former employer whose name I'll neglect to mention, but then I realized he really isn't that good at anything, even if he is delusional and entertains during his interviews by making most of it up). So I easily crowned Yung Berg with this achievement because how can such a newbie in the game get so much attention in such a short amount of time. A great interview, that's how. He says the most outlandish stuff, so much so that i even thought of rating each of the artists in this lists with "dark butts." 5 dark butts for a good interview, 1 dark butt for a bad one. You get the hint.

An honorary mention goes to Snoop Dogg, who I haven't seen interviewed in quite a while, but is always a good one, nonetheless.

bye.
