Nel corso degli incontri verranno presentate le particolarità di questo Yoga, così antico ma anche così diverso da tutte le altre tecniche di meditazione conosciute in occidente.

Un gruppo di musicisti eseguirà dal vivo musiche tradizionali dell'India, scelte fra quelle relazionate all'energia evolutiva presente in ciascuno di noi: la Kundalini, l'energia madre. Il suo risveglio, dice Sahaja Yoga, ci offre la possibilità di affrontare la vita in modo diverso, perché apre nuove vie nel cammino della nostra evoluzione.

Sarà allora possibile diventare "maestri di se stessi", grazie alle informazioni che la Kundalini risvegliata invierà al sistema nervoso centrale.

Attraverso l'acquisizione di una nuova sensibilità si impara quindi ad intervenire sui problemi fisici, mentali, emotivi e spirituali che possono disturbare la nostra esistenza e si accede a quello stato di benessere profondo e pieno di vitalità descritto nei testi sacri di tutte le culture.

Come anche profetizzato, viviamo una fase molto buia chiamata Kali Yuga, dove però molte persone possono ottenere la Realizzazione del Sé e riportare la pace e la moralità.

Shri Mataji dice: “Nei Puranas, l'età moderna che stiamo ora vivendo è detta Kali yuga, Età della confusione e del conflitto. Gli "yuga"; sono periodi di tempo, lunghi migliaia di anni, che ricorrono secondo una progressione ciclica a spirale. Il Dwapara yuga è la seconda età, nella quale la gente comincia a perdere alcune delle grandi qualità che aveva nella prima età, Età dell'Oro o Satya yuga, mentre nel Kali yuga (l'epoca moderna) segna il punto più basso di sviluppo morale e spirituale di ciascun ciclo. Il Kali yuga è seguito dal Krita yuga, l'età della trasformazione, ovvero quella in cui l'esperienza spirituale diventa un fatto concreto. Questa riconduce finalmente al Satya yuga, l'età della verità o della realtà, nella quale ritorna l'Età dell'oro, e tutte le facoltà dell'uomo cominciano a manifestarsi un'altra volta nella loro piena gloria."

Un segno di questo Kali Yuga è il materialismo, la brama per il potere e l'avidità dell'intera società.

Il seguente filmato chiamato "La storia delle cose" porta all'attenzione come sia ingenuo e ingenuamente difendibile il modello economico lineare propostoci sin dalla prima età. La concatenazione di Estrazione-Lavorazione-Distribuzione-Consumo-Smaltimento viene scomposta e presa in analisi sotto l'aspetto delle sue conseguenze e sotto l'aspetto delle sue cause economico-politiche.

L'analisi è cristallina e ottimamente argomentata. Le parole scorrono accompagnate da animazioni molto elementari che non distraggono ma sottolineano i nodi della questione. Sfatato il mito del riciclo, più palliativo che efficace, propone altri modelli... (lezioniamericane).

La Grande Madre è una divinità femminile primordiale, presente in quasi tutte le mitologie, rappresentante la terra, la generatività, il femminile come mediatore tra l'umano e il divino.

Il culto della Grande Madre risale al Neolitico e forse addirittura al Paleolitico, se si leggono in questo senso le numerose figure femminili steatopigie ritrovate in tutto il mondo.

l periodo storico è antichissimo (dal 30.000 al 1000 a.C.): la fase più fiorente si situa dal 7000 al 3000 a.C. (Neolitico). La spiritualità della Grande Madre si rivolge verso l’aspetto femminile e materno di Dio.
La Madre Terra diventa il simbolo della Grande Madre, Dea della Natura e della Spiritualità. Fonte divina di ogni nascita dà e sostiene la vita; è a Lei che la vita ritorna per rinascere come nei cicli della vegetazione. La Dea è, in tutte le sue manifestazioni, il simbolo dell’unità di tutte le forme esistenti in natura. Il suo potere è nell’acqua, nelle pietre, negli animali, nelle colline, negli alberi, nei fiori. La grande creatività di quel periodo caratterizzò la cultura come cultura dell’arte. Templi, abitazioni, ceramiche, statuette, abitazioni, portano evidenti tracce di questo culto. Sono state rinvenute molte veneri che presentano i simboli della Dea. In esse sono incisi o dipinti semi, boccioli, germogli, uova, crisalidi e segni acquatici come rappresentazione della rinascita e rigenerazione, del divenire e della trasformazione.

Lungo le generazioni, con gli spostamenti di popoli e la crescita di complessità delle culture, le "competenze" della Grande Madre si moltiplicarono in diverse divinità femminili. Per cui la Grande Dea, pur continuando ad esistere e ad avere culti propri, assumerà personificazioni distinte, per esempio, per sovrintendere all'amore (Ishtar - Astarte - Afrodite - Venere), alla fertilità delle donne (Ecate triforme), alla caccia (Artemide - Diana), alla fertilità delle sementa (Demetra - Cerere e Persefone - Proserpina)  analoga alla domanda dell'uomo di rinascere come il seme rinasce dalla terra.

L’area geografica analizzata riguarda Africa, America e l’Europa. In Africa la Grande Madre viene chiamata Nana e Iside; in America la Dea dall’abito di serpente;presso i Navajos e gli Apache la Estsanatlehi era la Madre di tutti gli esseri viventi che all’alba del mondo, quando si unì al sole, partorì due gemelli che sconfissero i mostri che popolavano il suolo terreste. In Asia, in area mesopotamica (V millennio AC) e in area anatolica (II millennio AC), viene adorata come Ninhursag, Cibele, e Anahita, in Cina è chiamata Quan-Yin, in India Durga. Per l’Europa in Grecia con Gea e Athena, l’Italia con Cibele, Bona Dea, Minerva ed Uni, con l’antica Dea Mater Matuta degli etruschi, Spagna e Malta con la Dea Astarte, l’Irlanda con la Dea Brigit, la Russia con la Dea Lada ( famosa incarnazione di Lada è Matersva, la dea uccello ).

Reperti molto interessanti si trovano in Bulgaria, in Russia ed in Lombardia (Val Camuna) del 2000 a. C. dove vi sono incisioni rupestri in mezzo alla natura con evidenti simboli che appartengono al culto della Grande Madre: serpentine, labirinti reti, bande ondulate, motivi a zig-zag. Per Jung questi sono i frutti interiori che emergono dall’inconscio collettivo, il regno della spiritualità della Grande Madre. Per lui la Grande Madre è una delle potenze numinose dell'inconscio, un archetipo di grande ed ambivalente potenza, salvatrice e distruttrice degli aspetti negativi della nostra personalità, nutrice e divoratrice. delle nostre ossessioni.  Altri reperti significativi sono due statuette della Dea rinvenuti in Turchia e a Creta. In quello della Turchia, risalente al 6000 a.C., la Dea è rappresentata seduta in trono, maestosa e regale con 2 fiere accanto; le sue mani sono posizionate in modo forte e tranquillo sulla testa delle fiere.

In quello di Creta ha in mano 2 serpenti. Il serpente era il simbolo della saggezza oracolare della Dea, infatti nell’antica Delfi la sacerdotessa che dava consigli ai capi di stato era raffigurata in associazione con il serpente. Anche il serpente era un simbolo collegato alla Grande Madre; il suo movimento verticale ascendente rappresentava la forza vitale e l’energia (la Kundalini) mentre il letargo e la muta rappresentavano il divenire e la trasformazione, l’immortalità ed il risveglio ciclico della natura. Questo tipo di cultura e di spiritualità si inserisce in una società di tipo agricolo dedito alla cura della vegetazione, dell’artigianato, del commercio. Fu un periodo di stabilità e pacifico.

Le donne erano considerate e valorizzate – regine, sacerdotesse, artigiane, membre anziane del clan – la società era di carattere egualitario. Si evidenziava un particolare rispetto verso la Madre Terra come simbolo della Grande Madre. Il potere della donna era inteso non come dominio ma come capacità di illuminare e trasformare la coscienza umana. Più tardi nell’epoca medievale tutto ciò sarà simboleggiato nel vaso femminile: il calice del Sacro Graal. Un potere, quindi, non terreno ma spirituale che si estrinseca non solo nella conoscenza e nella saggezza, ma soprattutto nella verità, nell’amore, nella giustizia. Queste qualità verranno in seguito attribuite alla Vergine Maria. La dispensatrice della nascita e la Madre Terra si fusero con la Madonna. Alla fine di questo periodo la spiritualità antica della Grande Madre gradualmente si attenuò fino a scomparire come risultato delle scontro tra culture diverse e del successivo affermarsi delle religioni patriarcali.
Seguì l’alienazione dell’uomo dalla natura e da se stesso i cui effetti sono ben evidenti nella società odierna. Per nostra fortuna il culto della Grande Madre ed i suoi simboli non sono andati perduti in quanto hanno costituito lo strato primario dell’inconscio collettivo, presenti come archetipi e visibili nelle fiabe, nei miti, nei sogni. I cicli storici non si fermano mai; e la spiritualità della Grande Madre riemerge in tutte le sue forme (ecologia ed interesse verso i temi dell’unione, dell’integrazione, della pace) a donarci speranze per il futuro ricollegandoci alle nostre più antiche radici.

Iside

Iside è spesso simboleggiata da una vacca, in associazione con la Dea Hathor, ed è raffigurata con le corna bovine, tra le quali è racchiuso il sole. Nell'iconografia è rappresentata spesso come un falco o come una donna con ali di uccello e simboleggia il vento. In forma alata è anche dipinta sui sarcofagi nell’atto di prendere l’anima tra le ali per condurla a nuova vita. Solitamente viene raffigurata con una donna vestita, con in testa il simbolo del trono, che tiene in mano un loto, simbolo della fertilità. Frequenti anche le rappresentazioni della dea mentre allatta il figlio Horus. Il suo simbolo è il tiet, chiamato anche nodo isiaco.

Cibele

Cibele fu un'antica divinità anatolica, venerata come Grande Madre, dea della natura, degli animali (potnia theron) e dei luoghi selvatici. Cibele viene generalmente raffigurata seduta sul trono tra due leoni o leopardi, spesso con in mano un tamburello e con su il capo una corona turrita. Il culto di Cibele, la Magna Mater dei Romani, fu introdotto a Roma il 4 aprile 204 a.C., quando la pietra nera, simbolo della dea, vi fu trasferita da Pessinuntee collocata in un tempio sul Palatino.

Anahita

Anahita era una divinità dell'antica Persia, delle sorgenti d'acqua della fertilità e della maternità. I suoi simboli erano la colomba e il pavone, era la madre di Mitra, il nome con cui Zoroastro attribuiva a Dio. Il tempio selucide di Kangavar in Iran (c. 200 a.C.), è dedicato a "Anahita, l'Immacolata Vergine Madre del Dio Mitra". La terminologia cristiana della vergine Maria è fortemente legata a questa dea che era insieme madre e vergine immacolata.

Durga

Presso la religione induista, Durgā è una forma della Devi, la Madre Divina (che assume anche molte altre forme, tra cui Sarasvati, Parvati, Lakshmi, Kali). È raffigurata come una donna che cavalca un leone, con numerose braccia mani che impugnano diversi tipi di armi e fanno le mudra (gesti simbolici fatti con la mano). Questa forma della Dea è l'incarnazione dell'energia creativa femminile (Shakti). Secondo il racconto del Devi Mahatmyam del Markandeya purana, la forma di Durga fu creata come dea guerriera per combattere il demone Mahishasura. Grazie ad intense preghiere a Brahma, Mahishasura ebbe la grazia di non poter essere sconfitto da alcun uomo o essere celeste. In virtù di questo potere, attaccò i Deva che andarono in aiuto della Trimurti (Brahma, Viṣṇu e Śiva), ma Mahishashura sconfisse tutti gli dèi compresa la triade stessa. Scatenò un regno di terrore sulla terra, in cielo e negli inferi. Dopo diversi giorni di battaglia durante i quali l'esercito di Mahishashura venne decimato, Durga uccise finalmente Mahishashura il decimo giorno della luna piena. Questa vittoria viene ricordata nella festa del Navaratri in autunno.

Quan-In

Conosciuta In cinese Quan-In o Guan Yin, in giapponese Kannon o Kanzeon, in coreano Gwan-eum o Gwan-se-eum, in tibet come Avalokitesvara.  E' una divinità molto venerata, soprattutto come dea della misericordia: una sua statua è presente in tutti i piccoli altari che si trovano nelle case, nei negozi e nei laboratori dei Paesi in cui il buddismo è diffuso. In tutte le lingue, il primo nome sta per "Osservatrice dei suoni del Mondo".

Sempre in Cina, Guanyin indossa generalmente una lunga veste bianca, e spesso una collana delle famiglie reali indocinesi; nella mano destra regge una brocca d'acqua pura, e nella sinistra un ramo di salice.

Una leggenda Buddhista presenta Guanyin nell'atto di far voto di non riposarsi fino ad aver liberato tutti gli esseri senzienti dal Saṃsāra. Nonostante il suo strenuo impegno, realizzò che c'erano ancora molti esseri infelici che dovevano ancora essere salvati; sforzandosi di comprendere le necessità di tanti, la sua testa si divise in undici parti. Amitabha Buddha, vedendo la situazione, gli donò undici teste con cui udire le suppliche dei sofferenti; avendole ascoltate e comprese, Avalokitesvara cercò di raggiungere e soccorrerli, ma così facendo le sue braccia si divisero i mille pezzi: ancora una volta, Amitabha venne in suo aiuto e gli assegnò mille braccia per soccorrere le moltitudini.

Gea

Gea o Gaia nella mitologia greca è la divinità femminile che impersona la Terra. La Teogonia di Esiodo racconta come, dopo il Caos, sorse l’immortale Gaia degli ampi seni, progenitrice degli dei dell’Olimpo. Da sola e senza congiungersi con nessuno ella generò Urano rappresentante il cielo stellato, l'universo.

Dunque, per primo fu Caos, e poi

Gaia dall'ampio petto, sede sicura per sempre di tutti

gli immortali che tengono la vetta nevosa d'Olimpo,

Teogonia di Esiodo (Versi 116-119)

Gaia per primo generò, simile a sé,

Urano Stellato, che l'avvolgesse tutta d'intorno,

che fosse ai beati sede sicura per sempre.

(Versi 126-132)

Alcuni studiosi credono che Gea fosse la divinità che originariamente parlava per bocca dell’Oracolo di Delfi.

Athena

Nella mitologia greca, Atena era la dea della sapienza, particolarmente della saggezza, della tessitura, delle arti e, presumibilmente, degli aspetti più nobili della guerra.

Atena ha sempre con sé la sua civetta, indossa una corazza di pelle di capra chiamata Egida donatale dal padre Zeus, ed è spesso accompagnata dalla dea della vittoria Nike. Quasi sempre viene rappresentata mentre porta un elmo ed uno scudo cui è appesa la testa della Gorgone Medusa, dono votivo di Perseo.

Non ebbe mai alcun marito od amante, e per questo era conosciuta come Athena Parthenos (La vergine Atena), da cui il nome del più famoso tempio a lei dedicato, il Partenone sull'acropoli di Atene. Dato il suo ruolo di protettrice di questa città, è stata venerata in tutto il mondo greco anche come Athena Polis (Atena della città). Il suo rapporto con Atene era davvero speciale, come dimostra chiaramente la somiglianza tra il suo nome e quello della città.

Minerva

Minerva fu la divinità romana della guerra, e la protettrice degli artigiani. La figura di Minerva deriva da quella di Atena, suo corrispettivo nella mitologia greca.

Publio Ovidio Nasone la definì divinità dai mille compiti. Minerva fu adorata in tutta l'Italia, nonostante solo a Roma assumesse un aspetto da guerriera. Viene solitamente raffigurata mentre indossa una cotta di maglia ed un elmo, completa di lancia.

Astarte

Astarte fu una dea venerata nell'area semitica nord-occidentale. Astarte era la Grande Madre fenicia e cananea, sposa di Adone, legata alla fertilità, alla fecondità ed alla guerra e connessa con l'Ishtar babilonese. I maggiori centri di culto furono Sidone, Tiro e Biblo. Era venerata anche a Malta, a Tharros in Sardegna, ed Erice in Sicilia, dove venne identificata con Venere Ericina. Suoi simboli erano il leone, il cavallo, la sfinge e la colomba.

Brigid

La celtica Brigid era una triplice dea sposa di Dagda, potente signore della fertilità. Egli era il dio dell'abbondanza in quanto il suo magico calderone dava sostentamento, non solo materiale ma anche spirituale, a tutti i popoli della Terra, essendo custode del sapere infinito.

Questo portentoso oggetto fa parte della tradizione di molte culture antiche, come quella asiatica, per esempio, secondo cui esso è il "progenitore" del Graal. Si narra, infatti, che alcuni messaggeri degli dei, forse angeli, sarebbero scesi dal cielo e fermatisi nel deserto avrebbero insegnato agli uomini tutto ciò che sapevano, facendoli partecipi della loro cultura superiore. Prima di partire, avrebbero lasciato quattro oggetti magici: una pietra, un calderone, una lancia e una spada, che sono rispettivamente la pietra nera de la Ka'ba, la spada di Re Artù, il Graal e la lancia di Longino.

Aveva altre due sorelle, anche loro chiamate Brigid, considerate come una sola triplice Dea. Brigid era associata al sacro fuoco perpetuo. Il suo culto è sopravissuto come Santa Brigida. La figura della Signora del lago nel ciclo di Re Artù potrebbe essere ispirata a Brigid.

La dea Brigid aveva come oggetti sacri a lei dedicati la coppa, la ruota del filatoio e lo specchio. La coppa era il simbolo dell'abbondanza ed anche il ventre da cui ha origine tutto il creato, il filatoio simboleggiava il centro del cosmo, la ruota delle stagioni e la durata della vita degli uomini.

I suoi animali totemici erano in primis i serpenti come simbolo di della vita che si rigenera, il gallo che annunciava il nuovo giorno e la mucca immagine della fertilità per antonomasia (fonte).

La spiritualità della Grande Madre è oggi presente in 100 paesi del mondo per merito di Shri Mataji che il 5 maggio 1970 ha permesso il risveglio della Kundalini a livello collettivo, l’energia spirituale materna che tutto sostiene e tutto comprende.
Attraverso Sahaja Yoga (fondato e sviluppato da Shri Mataji) ognuno può mantenere risvegliata questa energia fonte di benessere, equilibrio ed armonia. L’archetipo della Grande Madre si è destato dal suo millenario letargo e, grazie a Shri Mataji, è completamente attivo e pronto a manifestarsi in tutta la sua bellezza e potenza.

Wir sind umgeben von Coolness. Dies kann cool sein oder jenes, dieser Mensch, jenes paar Schuhe, dieser Ort, jenes Buch. Coolness lächelt uns von Plakatwänden an und Topdesigner versuchen uns ihre nonchalante, meist untragbare Mode (teuer) zu verkaufen.

Doch letztendlich entscheidet jeder selbst nach seinen ganz eigenen, undurchschaubaren Kriterien was für ihn/sie cool ist oder nicht.

Cool oder nicht cool ist dabei aber gar nicht so relativ. Alle Gegenstände, Menschen, Orte, ja sogar Klamotten! :) haben coole oder warme Vibrationen - ganz unabhängig von unserer Meinung darüber. Cool ist alles was der Wahrheit entspricht (auch die Wahrheit ist kein relatives Begriff) und was die Menschen in ihrer Entwicklung, Schönheit ihres Wesens etc fördert.

Shri Mataji hat eine einfache Methode entwickelt wie man Vibrationen fühlen kann und hat sie allen Menschen geschenckt, damit wir endlich aufhören können im Kreis zu laufen.

Damit man Vibrationen fühlen kann, muss man zunächst die Selbstverwirklichung bekommen. Als erstes fühlen wir dann den Zustand unseres eigenen Subtilen Systems auf den Händeflächen (ob wir cool sind oder nicht quasi)... später dann mit ein bisschen Übung, oder auch ohne (je nach dem Zustand unseres Systems) können wir die Vibrationen eines jeden Menschen und jedes Gegenstandes fühlen.

The Old Testament
In the OT the spirit of the Lord (ruah yhwh; LXX, to pneuma kyriou)
is generally an expression for God's power, the extension of himself
whereby he carries out many of his mighty deeds (e.g., 1 Kings 8:12;
Judg. 14:6ff; 1 Sam. 11:6). As such, "spirit" sometimes finds
expression in ways similar to other modes of God's activity, such
as "the hand of God" (Ps. 19:1; 102:25); "the word of God" (Ps. 33:6;
147:15, 18); and the "wisdom of God" (Exod. 28:3; 1 Kings 3:28; Job
32:8). The origins of the word "spirit" in both Hebrew (ruah) and
Greek (pneuma) are similar, stemming from associations with "breath"
and "wind," which were connected by ancient cultures to unseen
spiritual force, hence "spirit" (cf. John 3:8, note the association
with air in English; e.g., "pneumatic," "respiration, " etc.). The AV
uses the term "Holy Ghost" for "Holy Spirit" based on an obsolete
usage of the word "ghost" (from Middle English and Anglo-Saxon,
originally meaning "breath," "spirit", cf. the German Geist). Thus it
is understandable that God's creative word (Gen. 1:3ff.) is closely
akin to God's creative breath (Gen. 2:7). Both ideas are identified
elsewhere with God's spirit. As an agent in creation, God's spirit is
the life principle of both men and animals (Job 33:4; Gen. 6:17;
7:15).

The primary function of the spirit of God in the OT is as the spirit
of prophecy. God's spirit is the motivating force in the inspiration
of the prophets, that power which moved sometimes to ecstasy but
always to the revelation of God's message, expressed by the prophets
with "thus saith the Lord." Prophets are sometimes referred to
as "men of God" (1 Sam. 2:27; 1 Kings 12:22; etc.); in Hos. 9:7 they
are "men of the Spirit." The general implication in the OT is that
the prophets were inspired by the spirit of God (Num. 11:17; 1 Sam.
16:15; Mic. 3:8; Ezek. 2:2; etc.).

The phrase "Holy Spirit" appears in two contexts in the OT, but is
qualified both times as God's holy Spirit (Ps. 51:11; Isa. 63:10-11,
14), such that it is clear that God himself is the referent, not the
Holy Spirit which is encountered in the NT. The OT does not contain
an idea of a semi-independent divine entity, the Holy Spirit. Rather,
we find special expressions of God's activity with and through men.
God's spirit is holy in the same way his word and his name are holy;
they are all forms of his revelation and, as such, are set in
antithesis to all things human or material. The OT, especially the
prophets, anticipates a time when God, who is holy (or "other
than/separate from" men; cf. Hos. 11:9) will pour out his spirit on
men (Joel 2:28ff.; Isa. 11:1ff.; Ezek. 36:14ff.). who will themselves
become holy. The Messiah/ Servant of God will be the one upon whom
the spirit rests (Isa. 11:1ff.; 42:1ff.; 63:1ff.), and will
inaugurate the time of salvation (Ezek. 36:14ff.; cf. Jer. 31:31ff.).

Intertestamental Judaism
Within intertestamental Judaism several significant developments
shaped the idea of "Holy Spirit" as it was understood in NT times.
After the OT prophets had proclaimed the coming of the Spirit in the
messianic age of salvation, Judaism had developed the idea that the
spirit of prophecy had ceased within Israel with the last of the
biblical prophets (Syriac Bar. 85:3; 1 Macc. 4:46; 14:41; etc.; cf.
Ps. 74:9). Consequently, there arose from time to time a hope of the
dawning of the new age, especially within the apocalyptic movement,
which generally pointed to a supposed messiah and/or prophetic
reawakening of some kind (cf. Acts 5:34ff.). The Qumran community is
illustrative of this, since it understood itself to be involved in
the fulfillment of Israel's messianic hope as the "preparers of the
way of the Lord" (Isa. 40:3; cf. 1QS 8. 14-16). The Qumran literature
also shows increased identification of the spirit of prophecy
with "God's Holy Spirit" (1QS 8. 16; Zadokite Documents II. 12). The
phrase, "the Holy Spirit," occasionally occurs in Judaism (IV Ezra
14:22; Ascension of Isa. 5:14; etc.), but, as in the rabbis, it
generally meant "God's spirit of prophecy." Thus, the messaianic
expectation of Judaism, which included the eschatological outpouring
of God's spirit (e.g., 1 Enoch 49:3, citing Isa. 11:2; cf. Sybilline
Oracle III, 582, based on Joel 2:28ff.), was bound up with the
conviction that the Spirit had ceased in Israel with the last of the
prophets; the Holy Spirit was understood as God's spirit of prophecy,
which would be given again in the new age to a purified Israel in
conjunction with the advent of a messiah.

The concept of the Holy Spirit was broadened through the Wisdom
Literature, especially in the personification of wisdom as that idea
came into contact with the idea of Spirit. As early as Prov. 8:22ff.
and Job 28:25ff. wisdom is presented as a more or less independent
aspect of God's power (here as agent in creation), and wisdom is
credited with functions and characteristics that are attributed to
the Holy Spirit in the NT. Wisdom proceeded from the mouth of God and
covered the earth as a mist at creation (Sir. 24:3); she is the
breath of the power of God (Wisd. Solomon 7:25); and by means of his
wisdom God formed man (Wisd. Sol. 9:2). The Lord poured out wisdom
upon all his works, and she dwells with all flesh (Sir. 1:9-10).
Moreover, wisdom is full of spirit, and indeed is identified with the
Spirit (Wisd. Sol. 7:22; 9:1; cf. 1:5). Thus the Jews of NT times
were familiar with the background of these ideas as they are
variously expressed in the NT, ideas which use these background
concepts but move beyond them to some unexpected conclusions. Indeed,
Jesus taught that his messiahship and the corresponding outpouring of
the Spirit were firmly rooted in OT understanding (Luke 4:18ff.,
citing Isa. 61:1-2), and, similar to intertestamental Judaism,
understood the messianic Spirit of the Lord to be the Holy Spirit
(Matt. 12:32), the spirit which had foretold through the prophets
that the coming Messiah would inaugurate the age of salvation with
the pouring out of the Spirit on all flesh....

Advocate, (Gr. parakletos), one who pleads another's cause, who helps
another by defending or comforting him. It is a name given by Christ
three times to the Holy Ghost (John 14:16; 15:26; 16:7, where the
Greek word is rendered "Comforter," q.v.).

Comforter, the designation of the Holy Ghost (John 14:16, 26; 15:26;
16:7; R.V. marg., "or Advocate, or Helper; Gr. paracletos") . The same
Greek word thus rendered is translated "Advocate" in 1 John 2:1 as
applicable to (the Comforter to be sent by) Christ. It means
properly "one who is summoned to the side of another" to help him in
a court of justice by defending him, "one who is summoned to plead a
cause."

Spirit, Breath
Ruah: "breath; air; strength; wind; breeze; spirit; courage; temper;
Spirit." This noun has cognates in Ugaritic, Aramaic, and Arabic. The
word occurs about 378 times and in all periods of biblical Hebrew...

Ruah frequently represents the element of life in a man, his
natural "spirit": "And all flesh died that moved upon the earth,...
All in whose nostrils was the breath of life ..." (Gen. 7:21-22). In
these verses the animals have a "spirit" (cf. Ps. 104:29). On the
other hand, in Prov. 16:2 the word appears to mean more than just the
element of life; it seems to mean "soul": "All the ways of a man are
clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits
[NASB, "motives"]." Thus, Isaiah can put nepes, "soul," and ruah in
synonymous parallelism: "With my soul have I desired thee in the
night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early ..."
(26:9). It is the "spirit" of a man that returns to God (Eccl. 12:7).

... the Bible often speaks of God's "Spirit," the third person of the
Trinity. This is the use of the word in its first biblical
occurrence: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness
was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters" (Gen. 1:2). Isa. 63:10-11 and Ps. 51:12
specifically speak of the "holy or free Spirit." "

that by jumping, or by paying money? They felt the cool breeze in the
hand. It's written in the Bible, even in the Bible very clearly, that
it's the cool breeze, cool breeze is the sign of the Holy Ghost. You
start feeling the cool breeze in your hands and you start feeling the
cool breeze on your head. This is the actualization.

Of course, you people don't read other books which are very good,
like Adi Shankaracharya, People don't even like the mention of his
name who has really and clearly said that it is the cool breeze; the
chaitanya is to be felt like cool breeze in the hands. They do not
want that you should know the truth. And this is the truth that when
you get your realization, you have to feel the cool breeze in your
hands yourself. You have to judge yourself. I'm not going to tell
you. It is you who has to see, it is you who has to feel, and then
you have to grow and you have to know all and everything; all the
secrets of Divine Science. You become the master then, you are the
guru.

You are the Spirit, and you should get it. It's your own which is
given to you. I have nothing to do about it. I'm just a catalyst."

In Japan we had a great master whose name was Vidhitama. He was the disciple of Lord Buddah and he went to Japan and started the Zen system. Zen means meditation-dhyana - and he wanted people to become "thoughtlessly aware". He found out many ways of making people "thoughtlessly aware" - the tea ceremony and the temples that they have, are all meant to create thoughtless awareness.

I was amazed that none of the Japanese knew what the purpose of these gardens were. There is one garden which has some moss on top of a hill in a very small area and it is very interesting. You have to see the flowers and other foliage there through a magnifying glass. And this should amaze a person and one should become thoughtlessly aware.

wrote: "It is . . . the enlightenment of the holy souls, the
steadiness of the heavenly powers" (Spiritual Homilies V.8.)

"Cultivating the Awareness of the Light Within

The heart and mind can find peace and harmony by contemplating the
transcendental nature of the true self as supreme effulgent light

Patanjali is often called the father of yoga because he was the first
person to codify and write down yoga practices. In this meditation
instruction, he is telling us to let go of all distracting sights,
smells, and sounds and meditate on our spiritual nature, our luminous
true self. He is telling us to look inside and experience the
radiance within.

All cultures, peoples, and religious groups through all times have
talked about the phenomena of light in the context of the religious
or mystical experience. Those who have seen visions of holy beings
typically see them surrounded by white light. People have always
described going to the light, finding the light, being called by the
light, dissolving in the light. We read about light in The Egyptian
Book of the Dead as well as The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Men, women,
and children who have had classic near-death experiences vividly
describe arriving in a place of white light; they speak of themselves
and others as being bathed in white light.

Prior to being described as the light of any religion, light was just
light. Light is a part of the primary source material. Later, as the
history of mankind developed, the concept of light became
institutionalized; it was then interpreted according to cultural and
religious beliefs. Pure light thus became light of God, light of
truth, light of Buddha, light of Jesus, cosmic light, and ocean of
light depending upon where you were born and what you were taught.

Light, however, is constant. It is fundamental energy.

The New Testament, referring to John the Baptist, reads: "He came for
testimony, to bear witness to the light that all might believe
through him." Later Jesus says, "Put your trust in the light while
you have it so that you may become sons of light."...

British mystic George Fox, who founded the Quaker religion, used the
term "inner light" to describe our ability to personally experience
God within ourselves. He himself had such an experience, which left
him with the lifelong conviction that everyone can hear God's voice
directly without mediation by priests or church ritual. This is the
central tenet of the Society of Friends.

According to Buddhism, all beings are imbued with a spark of inner
divine light. In describing our original Buddha-nature, we use such
phrases as innate luminosity, primordial radiance, the unobscured
clear natural mind, and the clear light of reality.... The Jewish
mystics use similar words when they speak of the inner spark or the
spark of God. The Koran, referring to man, talks about the little
candle flame burning in a niche in the wall of God's temple.

Almost inevitably a spiritual search becomes a search for divine or
sacred light. By cultivating our inner core, we search for this light
in ourselves as well as the divine."- Lama Surya Das, Awakening to the Sacred

"We are now Sahaja Yogis but we were ordinary human beings. We had no
Light within us. Now the Light comes within us and we see the Light
then what do we become? We have to become the Light itself. Christ
was the Light. He did not have to become. We have to become the
Light. And now you have to guard on the way this Light might get
disturbed, might be reduced or maybe completely extinguished.

So carrying on yourself with this Light first thing you should
know that if you see the Light is not proper means you are not the
Light. You have to become the Light. When you are the Light, then in
that Light you can easily see how your mind works, what ideas it
gives, what affects your mind while you're ascending. Is this the
worry or is this the responsibility that you have? Or is this from
the bad habits you had, that there is an impediment in your growth as
a spiritual personality?

So you have to guard yourself all the time and see for yourself how
you are progressing. It's a very beautiful journey — very, very
beautiful journey."
