Leval two you are running away from the cops picking up gold bars you dropped in a bank heist. Three puts you in a helicopter trying to bust the mob and leval four has you as a cop trying to chase down a mobster. In leval five you drive a semi and try to help out your fellow mobsters.

Summary:

Deffinitly a fun game. It's all vehicle based and some of the controls are diffacult. In the leval in which you are chasing the mobster's sports car it is nearly impossible to drive without crashing and catch up to the car. The game is a bit easy and the only challenge is racking up the highest possible score. You don't have to pass a leval to move on, as all levals are availible from the start. That is nice but it is also not very gratifying when you do well on a leval. Some complaints I had were that shockwave.com, which I assume is the devolper of the game does not let other sites embed it and you have to go through schockwave to play it. The game takes a long time to load and sometimes never loads. Bottom line: Play it!

Dont even bother to find out the meaning of Transgundamers as stated above, it's my own silly combination of the word Transfomers and Gundam. All these years, the description of pro-modeller for gundam kits to me personally is someone who applies 110% of his effort into constructing his model kit. Heavy modifications, colors, weathering and almost real details that are added to kit to make it look unique. EBASENET is an example of a Gundam pro-modeller site. You can see for yourself how he modifies the model kits right to the extreme. What I want to emphasize here is another type of pro-modeller, where he combines the gundam model kit with a selected character from the Transformers series.

Interesting? If given a chance, I would prefer to combine something from the Beastwars franchise with any unit from the Gundam Astray kits. Its nice to try this unique kitbashing myself, but because of the high cost for both of the items involved, I'll think its enough just to watch other individuals work for the time being :D

Also as expected were the numerous news coverage that were published today in our local newspapers as I observe some of these people using used mineral water bottles to show the difference between before and after the oil price adjustments.

I suppose the above image taken from the leading English daily (The Star) says it all. After all, a picture does paint a thousand words and I doubt one will require further explanation with the illustration above.

At this moment, I believe the oil price increase has yet to sink in for most people. Call me a pessimist for painting a negative picture but maybe someone out there can explain to me how an abrupt 40% increase (40.6% to be precise) in one of the most prized commodity can be a good thing not just for you and me but the nation as a whole. The keyword here is ABRUPT. Sure I am all for a free market but sending a shockwave like this is like playing Russian roulette with 16 million people for we will never know what kind of reaction it can or will generate.

Only time can tell.

As mentioned above, what was obvious today were the psychological reactions to the adjustment instead of physical ones. Of course there were already news of companies who are directly affected by the increase making contractionary statements of future expectations. Some of them have announced that there will be price increments of services while others fear the end of their hard-built businesses.

If we try and imagine this being the first layer of the ripple effect, it doesn’t take a genius to try and anticipate what other industries will be affected next. For example, with transportation taking the first hit, fast-moving consumer goods will definitely see an increment in price as well. This could possibly come some time next month when the dust have settled and counter-measures to minimize loses by these FMCG companies are well in place. The percentage of increase is anyone’s guess but I reckon the band could be anywhere from 15% to 30%.

Prices were already increasing even before the announcement and I cannot tell if it was more rumor-based or inflationary-based but one thing is for sure, we won’t see the end of this ascending trend anytime soon.

I wonder what Alan Greenspan would have done.

Anyway before I end today’s observation, 2 comments caught my attention:

1. A drastic abrupt increase such as this is truly unbelievable. How can the price of oil, which is intertwined with so many different and important industries be adjusted by a 40% increment while wages and standard of living stays the same?

2. High automobile import tax causing a double-blow in terms of owning a vehicle. If price of oil need to be adjusted, so should the fair price of a vehicle. You can read the complete comment in the article below.

Can we call this protecting protectionism? I'll leave this thought for another day.

I'm running out of ideas on what to write about wapanese stuff so I'm sticking to computers for the moment.

I remember the days where having PC was a still luxury and having an internet connection even more so. I got my first PC, a 100Mhz, 128MB RAM 16MB video when I was a third grader, the latest at that time was still Pentium 3 and DOS games rule the market, plus the internet here was still running on 56K and an hour costs more than $2 and monthly subscriptions are only limited to 10hrs, cheapest plan.

Well, there's nothing to download in those days, except for MP3s and wallpapers, plus I wasn't using the internet but Hyperterminal,I don't even know how it works back then, I just follow what my geek neighbor told me: dial this number, wait till it says connected, go to hollywood and type what you're looking for. It doesn't even have pictures, just text. (imagine MS-DOS)

When I learned how to use Netscape Navigator (which came from the ISP's CD) I only visited three sites, www.hotmail.com, www.pokemon.com and still a baby, www.yahoo.com. (well, you can't blame a gradeschooler for going along with the pokemon boom).

Websites back then are simple, blue sites are owned by boys and pink sites are by girls. Flash was still Shockwave, and the only shockwave site I visit was Cartoon Network. we'll I was the "kid" before.

I learned P2P when I was in grade 6, i was still using audiogalaxy before but I moved to kazaa since some of the songs I like are for sale or doesn't have enough "seeds" in today's internet lingo. I discovered bittorrent around late '02. Animu wasn't even in bittorrent so I was stuck downloading pron mag scans at dial up speeds (wasn't resumable, though it's in acceptable file sizes). I think animu on torrents started with Gundam SEED, around '03. Still, I can't download them because of their insane filesizes, it wasn't even in the standard 170+MB. On the other hand, I was reading scans since my elementary days (bad kid, rily), and the popular manga scans back then are H-Mangas released in US (like Super Taboo, Slut Girl and Silky Whip to name a few).

Nowadays, Computers and the Internet are common words even faggots and kids know how to use it. You can assemble a good Computer set with roughly $150 (Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, 128MB Video, basic peripherals etc.) and internet service becoming cheaper roughly $10 a month for DSL.

And because of the birth of scum sites like friendster, youtube, myspace, crunchyroll, etc that gives reason for scum kids to access the internet, the once digital utopia is now what you call a slum.

1) Extract the contents of the Firefox 3 package into a folder, say firefox, in /usr/lib folder. Then navigate to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins. If you don`t find a file named libflashplayer.so then you`re in trouble, but don`t panic.

2) Goto http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer. And select the .rpm version of the plugin. It is approx 2.9 MB in size and should download easily. Install the package, and then extract the libflashplayer.so file from the package (yes you can extract files from an rpm package too, just right click on the rpm package and select extract) to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins folder on your computer. Now start your firefox3. The browser will report the presence of the flash plugin.

3) NO-SOUND Issues: If you find that you cant hear the sound in the flash content which is played on various sites, then your borwser most probably doesn`t have libflashsupport. Just, start a terminal and install it by issuing this command as root,      yum - y install libflashsupport. Restart firefox. The sound problem will now be fixed.

Update: You could also try installing the swfdec-mozilla plugin instead of the adobe-flash plugin, via yum. I am currently running it on my fox, and there doesn`t seem to be any problem at all.

Still, finally if all the above don`t seem to work, or may be you can`t turn things around then do the following:

1) Download firefox 2.0.0.14 again and extract the contents to your home folder in a firefox folder and install the flash plugin for it.

2) Delete this firefox folder and Don`t delete the .mozilla and .firefox directories from your home dir.

3) Now download the firefox 3 package and install it at the same firefox folder.
