Flipping your car in the middle of the night does (some parts of) the body good!

The man touted to be "the boy next door" Shia LaBeouf has been transformed into a such a desirable man. The change has been very drastic. If you recall when Shia first came into the scene with Transformers back in 2007, the words we associated him with was, 'young, cute, baby-faced' . The emerging star is now making countless magazine covers with his grown-up looks and the best of the lot must be GQ and Arena as shown below. We will be watching him with our very keen eyes, especially in the upcoming movie Eagle Eye in Oct 2008. Give him to us please!

In theaters Friday, September 12th

Righteous Kill (rated R) stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as two tough cops on a case to track down a serial killer who has a taste for bad guys.  The evidence screams "killer cop" and the race is on to bring this serial killer (vigilante?) to justice.   Whether you are on the side of the law or the side of street justice, This looks to be a case of "who can you trust".  I saw the trailer for Righteous Kill at one of the last movies I saw, and it looked really good.  It also left me wondering who I should root for.  The good guys, the serial killer, or someone in between.  Hmmm???  Also starring 50 Cent, Carla Gugino, Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Dennehy, John Leguizamo, Dan Futterman, Trilby Glover, Rob Dyrdek, Mark Famiglietti, Denis O'Hare, Katie Chonacas, Brett Granstaff, Saidah Arrika Ekulona and Alan Blumenfeld.

Burn After Reading (rated R) stars good chums Brad Pitt and George Clooney.  What we have here is a dark comedy that looks rather promising.  An ex CIA agent (something tells me he left on bad terms) misplaces a disc chocked full of sensitive information.  Two gym employees (of the not so bright variety) find said disc and figure they can cash in on this new found treasure.  There was no Official Site to link to this time around, so I linked to a YouTube Trailer instead.  Burn After Reading also stars John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton.

In theaters Friday, September 19th

Blindness (rated R): an outbreak of blindness ravages a city leaving all of its residents blind with the exception of one woman, the wife of a doctor.  Blindness has lured me in with its mysteriously vague trailer.  Again no Official Site was available so I linked to a trailer on YouTube.  The movie appears to revolve around the scenario of "what do you do with a whole city of suddenly stricken blind citizens?" and it would appear the answer is isolation and abandonment, or is it???  The hook is set deep in my lip, dragging me along.  I just gotta know.  Starring Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, Gael Garcia Bernal, Danny Glover and Alice Braga.

In theaters Friday, September 26th

Eagle Eye (rated PG-13) stars Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as pawns in a crazy game of violence and death.  Think Neo getting his first call from Morpheus, telling him to climb out on a window ledge, but instead of a well intentioned Morpheus on the other end of the line, it's a crazy power hunger woman that can somehow see your every move.  "The FBI will arrive at your apartment in 30 seconds, you must flee the premises..." or be set up as a terrorist with no way out.  "Follow directions and you'll live through this, disobey and you die" and that's just the tip of the iceberg.  This movie is at the top of my "must see list" for September.  Also staring Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, Michael Chiklis, Anthony Azizi, Anthony Mackie and Lynn Cohen.

Miracle At St. Anna (rated R) is a Spike Lee Joint on a whole new level.  On December 19th, 1983 a man walks into a post office and requests a 30 cent stamp "please". Hector Negron looks up at the man making the request.  Negron then pulls a gun from under the counter and kills the man while a five million dollar Italian artifact sits in his New York home.  Flashback 39 years to World War II, behind enemy lines to unravel this mystery.  Starring Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, Laz Alonso, Omar Benson Miller, Matteo Sciabordi, Valentina Cervi, Pierfrancesco Favino, John Leguizamo and Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Parce qu'en stage au Monde.fr, en plus d'apprendre des choses folles sur la présidentielle américaine, la vie en entreprise de presse, et le code html, et ben je me suis cultivée linguistiquement parlant.

En anglais, on écrirait Shia Labeouf: nothing to talk about, mais en français il faut un espace avant toute ponctuation dite haute (? ! : ;). HA! Etonnant non?

Bref, pour en revenir au petit Shia, fils d'Indiana Jones et héros de transformers, c'était la victime estivale des tabloids, celui dont on parle en montant tout un pseudo scandale en épingle alors qu'en fait il ne se passe rien...

Dernière semaine de juillet, ça y est, c'est l'été, les people sont en vacances et les magazines se meurent d'ennui, au point de sauter sur la moindre bribe d'attitude un tant soit peu scandaleuse. Etude de cas: Shia Labeouf, et son arrestation pour conduite en état d'ivresse à cause d'un accident qu'il avait causé ah-en-fait-non-c'était-pas-sa-faute.

1. L'accident

Dimanche 27 juillet vers 3h du matin, la voiture conduite par le jeune Shia se retourne après un accident. Il en sort blessé, direction l'hôpital avant que la police de Los Angeles l'arrête dès sa sortie après avoir constaté sur les lieux de l'accident qu'il avait l'air franchement pas net.

Puisqu'ils n'avaient rien d'autre à faire -Britney va bien, Lindsay est amoureuse, Amy... Amy est toujours aussi à l'ouest, c'est même plus drôle- les blogs et tabloïds se sont lâchés sur le cas.
Il faut dire que Shia a tout du coupable parfait: il a été arrêté l'an dernier complètement saoul, alors qu'il refusait fermement de sortir d'un Walgreens, une chaîne de parapharmacie américaine.

2. Les antécédents
Dans une toute récente interview donnée au magazine Details, il affirme: «Je ne sais pas boire comme un gentleman. Je ne sais pas boire juste un verre». Plus tôt cette année, il s'est fait griller en train de fumer dans un endroit non fumeur (ça rigole pas avec les lois anti-tabac aux Etats-Unis) et il a décidé de ne pas se présenter le jour de son procès... Il y a à peine un mois, il se faisait de nouveau prendre en train de fumer dans les toilettes d'un musée national, où quelques scènes de Transformers 2 se tournaient.

Bref, rien de bien scandaleux en temps normal, mais au milieu de l'été c'est devenu l'affaire du siècle! L'association des «Mères contre la conduite en état d'ivresse» lui a écrit une lettre ouverte, demandant qu'il installe sur sa voiture un de ces éthylotests anti-démarrage. La mini célébrité Khloe Kardashian, soeur d'une fille presque connue aux Etats-Unis pour cause de sex tape + télé réalité, lui a même prodigué des conseils (elle a été propulsée experte en la matière après avoir passé 173 minutes en prison suite à une arrestation pour conduite en l'état d'ivresse). Message de Khloe à Shia : «Sois plus malin. Réfléchis à tes actions, et engage un chauffeur!»

3. Ah bah ouais mais bon
Sauf que... Sauf que voilà. Shia n'était absolument pour rien dans son accident de voiture, la police l'a totalement innocenté. Alors que l'autre conducteur a grillé un feu rouge, Shia a lui été le petit homme parfait: sur place, quelqu'un lui a conseillé de partir aussi vite possible de la scène de l'accident, mais Shia a dit «pas question», et s'est mis à faire un constat, s'occuper de sa passagère, responsable comme tout.

D'après un témoin, Shia avait l'air saoul parce qu'il était choqué par l'accident, et donc tout désorienté. Vivement qu'Angelina Jolie (re)tombe enceinte, histoire que les tabloïds ne nous inventent pas Julia Roberts en accroc aux bonbons ou Johnny Depp en dangereux terroriste...

Looks like the Transformers sequel will be back on track.

Shia LaBeouf was snapped walking out of a medical building in Glendale, CA this afternoon. Hand it to Shia -- he makes recovery look good.

Shia has now returned to the set and filming is underway once again. LaBeouf has returned to the set two weeks ahead of schedule which is very good news for the movie. Hopefully he drives safe for the rest of the filming process and we can get this movie in theaters.

Sportin' busted up black fingernails due to bruising and bleeding, the accident-prone star was snapped in Glendale, Calif. on Wednesday.

Word is he won't have to have any fingers amputated.

On a final note, i'd like to say im sorry for getting so pumped up about the whole vanessa hudgens thing, i mean what she did was wrong, and believe me it brought my piss to a rapid boil, But that doesnt mean i can just judge her like that. I guess what i said and shit made me just as bad as perez. And for that im sorry and i would like to apologize to VH and her fans. Although i still dont think she should have won that award. Now that i've made that retraction i would like to ask everyone to think twice about how they feel about someone or shit they've said about someone. Just think hard try to put yourself in they're shoes. And just think really really hard, Where is the love?

I noticed yesterday that Entourage star Adrian Grenier just dumped his girlfriend, Isabel Lucas, star of the upcoming Transformers 2.

Usually I leave the subject of celebrity breakups in the very capable hands of my co-author Lark, but this one interested me for two reasons.

Lucas, you may remember, was the chick riding shotgun at 3am when that boozy little girl Shia LaBeouf tried to test the laws of gravity in a pickup truck last month.

When I read that Shia's co-pilot was none other than Vinnie Chase's main squeeze, I knew their relationship had died that night.

Plausible explanations for why the pair would be rolling around La-La Land drunk at 3 am together be damned -- most guys would disapprove if their woman was was caught doing that.

Grenier is no exception.

He waited a respectable amount of time (in this case 2 weeks) -- careful not to seem callous after Lucas had just been in a car accident -- and then he threw her on her ass.

A source told People, "Adrian saw her with Shia and that was kind of it -- the crash, their hanging out. He obviously didn't appreciate it."

But in addition to being able to empathize with Grenier on this, his breakup caught my attention for another reason.

Grenier was blessed with absurdly good looks. Guys like him usually take their pick when it comes to women ... such is the way of the world.

But when I read about situations like this -- where superstuds like Grenier are humiliated by their lady friends -- it's like the Relationship Gods are restoring a little balance to the universe.

And I'm not ashamed to admit the quiet satisfaction this gives me.

Adrian Grenier and his girlfriend Isabel Lucas are done, it was announced Tuesday.

They pair split up right after the accident Lucas was in with her Transformers 2 co-star Shia LaBeouf.

A source said: "It wasn't working out. Adrian saw her with Shia and that was kind of it – the crash, their hanging out. He obviously didn't appreciate it."

What an understatement. Adrian must have been pissed!

The accident happened at about 3 am in the morning. We're guessing they were headed to someone's pad to do some sexy time!

Isabel's wasted no time moping over Adrian, though. She and Shia have been "hanging out" again!

A TOY LINE.

So, if you're going into this movie expecting Citizen Kane or The Godfather, please, think again.  If there's one thing that drives me crazy, it's people dissecting summer blockbuster action movies like they're art house films.  They're not.  And Transformers is as big of a summer blockbuster action movie as you're going to get.  And it's based on a toy line.  Repeat: a toy line.

That said, this baby actually was much better than I anticipated.  While the plot was just the sort of thing you'd expect to keep the action going full throttle without any speed bumps (like coherence), there were actually some very strong attempts at giving each human character a very distinct personality.  I actually was surprised by the charm and charisma of Shia LaBeouf who definitely gave this film its heart and soul.  Shia's parents were a riot, and appearances by legitimate actors like Jon Voight and John Turturro gave the film some acting credence it didn't really need-but I like the effort.  Bernie Mac also makes a hilarious appearance. 

But, let's get to what this movie was really about-Transformers.  They were awesome!  I have no idea what a robot turning into a car would actually look like, but what I saw in the movie seemed pretty spot on.  Moreover, I love the fact that the robots were actually to scale.  Meaning, if a robot turns into an eighteen-wheeler, when that baby stands upright it's going to be pretty big.  Bumblebee, coupled with Shia, stole the movie by far (as I'm sure they were intended to), but nothing beat Optimus Prime voiced by Peter Cullen, the guy who did it back in the cartoon from the eighties. 

Somehow, the digital artists made these robots fit seamlessly into the scenes with the live actors.  It honest to God looked like they were really acting alongside the real folks.  That sort of stuff can drive me crazy if it looks fake and I usually have a good eye for it, but they passed with flying colors.

Now, I realize the old schoolers out there are upset about the modifications made to their favorite cartoon characters, and to them I say, "Get over it."  It's a movie based on a toy line.  While they didn't resemble their former cartoon selves in the least, the upgrades were necessary for the complex age we live in.  And I have to say, those freaky robots honestly looked like they could turn into something.  There were layer-upon-layer of gizmos and parts on them that were always spinning or percolating; it was visually most impressive.  I will give the haters one inch, though, it got kind of hard to tell everybody apart except for Optimus Prime (very blue) and Bumblebee (very yellow).  All the rest, in robot form, sort of blended in with each other.  Hard to tell the good buys from the bad.

I also thought it was sort of funny that there were only three female parts in this movie, and two of them were, as the kids would say, pretty smokin'.  (The third role was Shia's mom.)  Most of the men, though, were fairly on the nerdy side.  Funny, huh?  Do the marketers know their target audience or what?

Finally, I appreciate a subtle, disciplined, contemplative film dealing with the nuances of the human condition, but sometimes I need those big summer ka-boom action movies.  Transformers director Michael Bay is the Leonardo da Vinci of over-the-top action movies, especially the summer blockbuster variety.  I mean, this guy brought us The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and Bad Boys I and II.  Oscar winners?  Well, no; but they sure were fun to watch.

In summary, the Transformers looked awesome (if not always recognizable), the action was spectacular, the acting better than expected, the plot exactly-as-expected (but it kept the action going; it kept the action going), the humor surprisingly well placed, and the charisma of Shia LaBeouf proved a nice surprise (we'll see more of him in the next installment of Indiana Jones).  If you're into this sort of movie, you will not go disappointed.  But, for the love-try to remember: it's based on a toy line.  A TOY LINE!

For a while there I thought I'll be seeing the last of Indiana Jones with the entry of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Frankly, I was surprised that George Lucas decided to resurrect the franchise -- and that Harrison Ford agreed. I haven't watched it, actually, but it's been almost two decades since its predecessor was released... and Harrison has aged considerably. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Harrison (I think he's a terrific actor), but he is a bit old to be playing the swashbuckler again.  But since I haven't seen the movie, I'm reserving my judgment.

For now let me just say that I'm happy George isn't planning to create more Indiana Jones movies with Shia LaBeouf front and center.  I mean, really... It shouldn't be called Indiana Jones then if that happens, now should it?

Anyway, check Pineapple Express of my list of Movies To Watch. I saw it the other night. It was pretty good. Some glaring plot issues, but hey, it kept me entertained. Next up: X Files. I keep forgetting about it. I also have an amendment for my List. I'm adding Eagle Eye. Shia LaBeouf is really impressing me lately. I hope he keeps heading in this direction.

Doctors have told Shia LaBeouf they may have to amputate one of his injured fingers, Star has learned exclusively.

The young star, now working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is likely to lose the pinky on his left hand, a source on the movie set says.

"Shia called producers yesterday and told them," the source on the set in Alamogordo, N.M. says. "It's really thrown the movie into turmoil."

Despite Star magazine's claims that actor Shia LaBeouf would have to have his pinky amputated because of his car crash, his rep has said the reports are a "complete fabrication."

On Wednesday, Star Magazine claimed that LeBeouf might have his left pinky amputated as a result of his car accident in Los Angeles on July 27. LeBeouf was cited for DUI following the crash and is currently wearing a large cast on his arm as a result of his SUV rollover.

According to the publication, an unnamed source on the set of LeBeouf’s latest film, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” claimed, “Shia called producers yesterday and told them” about the possible amputation, and that “it’s really thrown the movie into turmoil.”

His rep told Access, “that story is a complete fabrication. Absolute gossip.”

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for the magazine said they stand by the story.
