According to Russell Simmons, its because Jessie Jackson loves Obama so much, thats why he made his recent off color comments. Hmm!!!

“You can judge someone you love, and I would say Jesse Jackson loves Obama so much that maybe he had a judgment,” Simmons said at a party for his Hip-Hop Summit Action Network’s get-out- the-vote ad campaign on July 9.

“He’s done so much good for so long that I give him a pass for all of his statements.”

Besides, the vegan Simmons has his own Obama issues on his plate, like getting the candidate to tell America to “eat one less hamburger a week”:

“That would be nice.”

Hmm!!!! One less hamburger? That should fix all the problems. Zen is good, but is Russell Simmons waaaaay beyond Zen? Closer to idiot, perhaps?

No word yet on the exact date when the show that takes viewers inside the world of the model, mogul mom will be available for purchase.

However, a recent statement by Lionsgate says it's part of a new partnership between them and the Comcast Entertainment Group.

Other shows set for DVD release starting August, 2008 include Sunset Tan and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Jermaine Dupri continues to display why he has a grill piece only his mother and Janet (yep only a mother cause a grandmother could have picked up that baby and dropped it like "Oh sh*t!") could love. Swizz and Mashonda were also spotted at the party not together though. There must have been a shortage of oxygen also in the place being that KRS-1was not only in the spot but actually performed, so you know he had to take more than a few deep breaths. Vote For It 08', a one of a kind public service announcement, was created by the network and CPX interactive to encourage young people to register and vote in the upcoming presidential election. In addition to it’s premiere on Youtube, the video is expected to run across national networks such as BET and MTV later this year.

“While the youth vote increased dramatically during this season’s primaries, there are still 44 million young people unregistered in the United States,” noted Valeisha Butterfield, Executive Director of HSAN.
The video features Russell Simmons, Snoop Dogg, Egypt, George Lucas, T.I., LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Jim Jones, Ciara and a host of others.

Honestly, I was a fan of The Source before XXL.  But, when one person or company has control of the market and/or media they control pretty much your preception.  Sort of like major media in America with CNN and MSNBC and shit like that.  So more competition, more mediums is always a plus.  In this case it goes double in Hip-Hop becuase we love to be heard and there are artists who need to be heard (cough OBA ROWLAND).  Plus, The Source is Hip-Hop.  How can they not be relevant.  Thats like Jay-Z not being the best.

After years of turmoil as a result of the Dave Mays/Benzino era, The Source is finally looking to reclaim the throne in the magazine game. During the post-Mays/Benzino era, The Source has been looking to find financial footing while remaining competitive in the dwindling space of print magazines. It seems that they now have it.

B.E. Greenwich, a division of the highly successful Black Enterprise magazine, and the North Star Group, led by entertainment lawyer L. Londell McMillan (who has represented the likes of Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Prince and Michael Jackson) have purchased stake in The Source and look to revitalize the self-proclaimed "Hip Hop Bible."
