<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">Há uma grande variedade de desafios nesse fim de semana, como por exemplo, múltiplos tipos de asfalto ao longo da pista; um desnivelamento entre a ponte e a retomada do asfalto em terra de 8 milímetros, além dos temerosos muros ao fim de uma reta aonde os carros chegarão a mais de 320 km/h.</p>
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">Ao observarmos  tantos desafios a pergunta que fica no ar é: quem, afinal, poderia tirar vantagem desse novo circuito, como poucos dados para as equipes e pilotos terem como referência em sua preparação?</p>
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">No que se refere às equipes, não é preciso dizer que quase todas basearam suas preparações em dados simulados, tentando antecipar quanto de downforce será necessário para essa pista, que tipo de material e quanto desgaste terão os freios, além de outras variações na configuração do carro.</p>
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">E é nesse ponto que a McLaren parece sempre estar à frente das outras equipes. Sua preparação é sempre soberba, com técnicos e engenheiros recolhendo dados das novas pistas meses antes da realização do Grande Prêmio, dados que são posteriormente alimentados no melhor simulador da Formula 1 hoje.</p>
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">Na outra extensão do desafio, no que concerne os pilotos, uma pista urbana exige, com tantos muros beijando os pneus a cada curva, uma enorme dose de precisão na pilotagem, além de um forte senso de desafio para se arriscar em pontos sem áreas de escape a quase 320 km/h. Robert Kubica, pelo que demonstrou esse ano na Austrália, Canadá e Mônaco, além de Lewis Hamilton pelas vitórias e performances dominantes nestas mesmas pistas, são os pilotos que vêm imediatamente a mente quando olhamos para o desafio que será o Grande Prêmio da Europa nesse fim de semana.</p>

<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">O problema, para Kubica, é que a BMW parece nesse momento ter ficado para trás no desenvolvimento de seu carro, preferindo talvez concentrar forças no modelo de 2009, restando a Lewis e em uma proporção menor, aos dois carros da Ferrari, todo o favoritismo.</p>
<p class="Estilo2" style="text-align:justify;">
<p style="text-align:justify;">Contra uma previsível vitória do inglês, resta o calor do verão espanhol e a capacidade que tem a Ferrari de extrair o máximo dos compostos super macios que a Bridgestone levará para Valência sob tais temperaturas. O ponto crucial, contudo, pode estar nos períodos de safety cars que estão sempre presentes em pistas urbanas, com esta configuração.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>BMW Sauber F1 Team have vowed not to sit down and do nothing the 3 week gap between Hungaoring and the European GP at Valencia, and are planning some upgrades to their F1.08.</p>
<p>Mario Theissen believes the team needs to concentrate on getting more consistency.</p>
<p>"We were not just slow, we were also inconsistent," Theissen said of his team's performance in Hungary. </p>
<p>"Obviously we aren't going to sit down and twiddle our thumbs as we still have developments in the pipeline - aerodynamic as well as mechanical," Theissen added. "We definitely won't stop the development of the F1.08 because of one unsatisfying result."</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Peter Sauber former owner of the team that morphed in to BMW claims that the team needs to find some of its earlier season surge and get some results as they are coming under pressure from Toyota;</p>
<p> "It has not escaped me that we have made less progress than the teams around us." Sauber told <em>The Blick</em></p>
<p>"For us, the development curve at the beginning of the season was particularly steep. Now, it has flattened a little," </p>

Los candidatos a ganar el mundial parecen empeñados en deshechar cualquier favoritismo a base de errores propios y ajenos.<br />
<span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"><strong>Hamilton </strong>encabeza la clasificación y ha mostrado mayor solidez desde el triunfo en Silverstone, pero el inglés, que tropezó con estrépito en Montreal y Magny-Cours, arrastra todavía el estigma de 2007, cuando dejó escapar un título sentenciado bajo el diluvio en Japón.<br />
<span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Cinco puntos separan a <strong>Kimmi Raikkonen</strong> del liderato. A priori, una diferencia mísera para el actual número 1 de la parrilla. Sin embargo, la apatía del finlandés desde Montmeló, donde consiguió su último triunfo, convierte la distancia con Hamilton en una barrera, quizá, insalvable. En Italia, están que trinan con <em>Ice Man</em>.<br />
<span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"><strong>Felipe Massa</strong> tiene a Hamilton a tiro de 8. Si el motor del F2008 no se hubiera fundido en Hungaroring, <em>Felipao</em> estaría disfrutando del sol de Sao Paulo como líder del campeonato. El brasileño es capaz de todo: Capaz de firmar la mejor salida de la temporada en Hungría y de convertir su Ferrari en un trompo sobre el asfalto de Silverstone. Demasiado irregular, una cualidad poco aconsejable para pelear por el mundial.</p>

El arranque de temporada del equipo de <strong>Mario Theissen</strong> fue fastuoso. Ferrari y McLaren siempre estuvieron por encima de los monoplazas alemanes, sin embargo la eclosión de un tercer equipo con capacidad para luchar por el podium en cada carrera, le añadió un toque de pimienta al campeonato. El cénit de BMW llegó en Montreal: primer triunfo, primer doblete y primer lugar en la clasificación de pilotos para <strong>Robert Kubica</strong>. Después de Canadá, nada. Un chasco detrás de otro.<br />
Las malas lenguas dicen que en Hinwill sólo piensan en el coche del año que viene, el F1.09. Theissen lo ha negado hasta tres veces. Faltan 7 carreras para que demuestre lo contrario. En todo caso, <em>chapeau </em>para <strong>BMW </strong>y para <strong>Kubica</strong>.</p>

El destino del ovetense se ha relacionado con casi todos los equipos del <em>Paddock</em>: Ferrari, Honda, Toyota, Red Bull, BMW-Sauber... Alonso da largas cada vez que le preguntan qué coche pilotará en 2009, sabedor de la importancia de la prudencia, cuando decides con qué volante te ganarás la vida. El anuncio del fichaje por McLaren llegó a bocajarro, por sorpresa. Seguro que el destino del asturiano llegará de la misma manera. La moderación que Alonso emplea para hablar del futuro hace sospechar que lo más prudente es continuar en Renault para recalar, por fin, en <strong>Ferrari </strong>en 2010.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Da harkt Heiko Waßer ständig auf Kimi Räikkönen herum, dass er in der ersten Hälfte des Rennens nicht schnell genug unterwegs war. Also bei dem Rennen, das ich gesehen habe, steckte der <a href="http://www.focus.de/sport/formel1/bilder-2008/formel-1-szenen-vom-hungaroring_did_20076.html?slide=34" target="_blank">Finne mit der Finne</a> das halbe Rennen hinter Alonso fest. Und erst als er ihn indirekt in der Box überholt hatte, konnte er endlich loslegen. Und sich bis an den Auspuff des Toyotas von Timo Glock wieder aufschließen. Räikönnen hat das Beste rausgeholt. Denn selbst ohne akut verordneten Schongang nach <a href="http://www.motorsport-magazin.com/bilder/zoom.php?ID=0156224" target="_blank">Massas Motorschaden</a> glaube ich nicht, dass Glock ihn einfach vorbeigelassen hätte.</p>
<p>Der Finne ohne Finne, also Heikki Kovalainen im McLaren, bekommt Dank Ferrari einen ersten Platz geschenkt, was sich sicherlich gut anfühlt und Timo Glock einen zweiten, für den er wohl zu fertig war, um sich so richtig zu freuen.</p>
<p>Welches ist eigentlich das Geheimnis, das die Opfer dramatischer Unfälle auf der Strecke im nächsten Rennen so erfolgreich beflügelt? Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere war Robert Kubica nach seinem Unfall in Montreal auch plötzlich in einer anderen Liga. Und etliche andere Fälle, an die ich mich gerade nur zu dunkel erinnere.</p>
<p>Und BMW wird auch froh sein, dass Ungarn nun durch ist.</p>

This was the race in 2007 when the McLaren team began to tear itself apart as Hamilton and Alonso worked to their own agendas during qualifying. 12 months later, Hamilton and Kovalainen are best mates after giving McLaren the front row for the first time since Monza last year.</span></p>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;"><!--more-->They've every reason to look pleased since the McLarens were capable of seeing off the Ferraris. Felipe Massa put on a brave face by saying he couldn’t warm his tyres properly on his final out lap and his last qualifying run was compromised. But at least he’s on the clean side of the track whereas Kovalainen is not, an important point at the start on a track where going off the racing line takes drivers into a gripless world of dust and rubber marbles.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">As for Kimi Raikkonen, the world champion’s refusal to speak to the waiting media as he climbed from his Ferrari said everything about a mistake on his best lap and a yet another disappointing sixth place.</span></div>
<p><span style="font-size:x-small;">Robert Kubica was happy to talk, fourth place being even better than he expected after struggling during the first two phases of qualifying, particularly after flat-spotting a tyre at the first corner in Q2. Nick Heidfeld, on the other hand, was fit to be tied when blocked by Sebastien Bourdais at the end of the BMW driver’s last lap in Q1. Bourdais may have received a five place grid penalty for his trouble but you had the feeling that, even if Heidfeld had made it into Q2, he would have been continuing the struggle he’s experienced all weekend. Heidfeld starts from 15th, a complete disaster at a track where overtaking is... difficult, if not impossible.</span></p>
<p>Two drivers who have been on the case all weekend: Timo Glock and Nelson Piquet. Glock qualifying handsomely in fifth place and it makes you wonder about the effect of a good accident similar to the big shunt when the German driver’s rear suspension broke during his home Grand Prix. Piquet, his confidence soaring after finishing second at Hockenheim, made it into Q3 after attacking the track (where he dominated GP2 two years ago) from the moment practice began on Friday.</p>
<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">Renault team-mate Fernando Alonso starts from seventh and he will be interested to see Jenson Button take an excellent 12th in a car that looks a pig to drive. Why should Alonso be interested? Word is that he is going to Honda for one year in 2009 before moving on to Ferrari in 2010.</span></div>

No bolo dos contratos que eu achava que deveriam ser confirmados esse ano, estava o de Nick Heidfeld, um piloto pelo qual eu tenho uma enorme simpatia.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">No entanto, as três convincentes atuações de Nick, um pódio na Inglaterra, um quarto lugar na Alemanha, além de sua ajuda crucial na vitória de Robert no Canadá, deixaram-no a apenas 7 pontos de Robert e 17 do líder Lewis. O melhor desses bons resultados é que Heidfeld emergiu mais confiante de que a BMW jamais abandonaria a sua fidelidade e experiência, mesmo desistindo do talentoso Fernando Alonso.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">A BMW tem hoje na média a dupla de pilotos mais equilibrada e talentosa do grid, um interessante mix que une a experiência e habilidade de Heidfeld com a velocidade e agressividade de Robert Kubitza. Com a renovação do contrato quase certa, fica claro que mesmo que Fernando Alonso seja hoje o piloto mais completo da Formula 1, a BMW não precisa dele para vencer.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Já faz um bom tempo que eu vi todos os vídeos que fazem parte deste post (alguns já faz anos). Mas, mesmo assim, resolvi postar sobre eles. Por quê? Bom, hoje um amigo me mandou a seguinte matéria: "<a href="http://autozine.com.br/esporte/cinco-momentos-inesqueciveis-da-formula-1" target="_blank"><strong>Cinco Momentos Inesquecíveis da Fórmula 1</strong></a>"; do <a href="http://autozine.com.br/" target="_blank"><strong>Autozine</strong></a>. Ela me fez refletir sobre o meu fascínio pela <strong>Fórmula 1</strong>. Muitos dos que me conheceram recentemente devem estar se perguntando: "Que porra de fascínio é esse?". Pois, com certeza, nunca me ouviram falando (ou assistindo uma corrida) de Fórmula 1. E eu tenho que admitir: "Esse fascínio ficou em algum passado distante.".</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">A que conclusão eu cheguei? Sem exageros, acredito que esta minha descrença (na Fórmula 1) foi causada por dois fatores. O primeiro, e talvez o mais importante, é o conjunto (de regras, pistas, tecnologias, etc.) que impossibilitam, cada vez mais, a existência de <em>pegas emocionantes</em>. E, o segundo fator, foi a ausência (por muitos anos) de um brasileiro competente na categoria.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Não entenderam nada? Então, irei explicar melhor estes dois fatores:</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Primeiro</strong>: A partir da década de 90 a <a href="http://www.fia.com/" target="_blank"><strong>FIA</strong></a> passou a impor regras, que visam aumentar a segurança dos seus pilotos. Tudo bem, isso (a segurança) é realmente uma coisa necessária. Além do mais, quantos pilotos já não morreram dentro das pistas? Inclusive, nós brasileiros, lamentamos até hoje a perda de um ícone (eu diria até: <em>um herói</em>). Mas, na minha opinião, algumas destas regras só serviram para empacar o espetáculo.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Vocês não sabem de qual ícone me referi? Então, vocês mercem permanecer na ignorância (rs).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bom, continuando. Para completar ainda temos as pistas obsoletas (ou muito <em>travadas</em>) e as tecnologias. Como assim? Muitas das tecnologias adotadas na Fórmula 1 ajudaram a tornar o espetáculo, cada vez mais, monótono. Um exemplo? O controle de tração que, finalmente, a FIA decidiu proibir. Esta tecnologia ajudava (em muito) os pilotos, pois deixava os carros mais firmes nas pistas. Porém dificultava as ultrapassagens.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Não estão acreditando que esses detalhes estão atrapalhando o espetáculo? Então, vejam o vídeo de um pega sensacional entre <strong>Gilles Villeneuve</strong> e <strong>René Arnoux</strong>:</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Estes vídeos foram extraídos da década de 70 e 80 (respectivamente). Agora parem para pensar: "Quanto tempo ficamos sem ver um <em>pega</em> desses?". Quase trinta anos? Sendo que, toda esta ressaca só foi quebrada graças ao <a href="http://www.felipemassa.com.br/" target="_blank"><strong>Felipe Massa</strong></a> e <a href="http://www.kubicarobert.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Robert Kubica</strong></a>:</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">É disso que eu sinto falta na Fórmula 1! Para mim, o que importa, é o piloto por trás da máquina, e não a equipe que tem mais dinheiro.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Segundo</strong>: Sobre este pequeno detalhe, eu prefiro não dizer nada. Deixo apenas um vídeo que ilustra bem o que (eu acho) é o sentimento de todo brasileiro:</p>

<p>F1 teams Toro Rosso and BMW-Sauber may be interested in accommodating rising GP2 driver Sebastien Buemi in the near future.</p>
<p>The Swiss daily Le Matin quotes BMW boss Mario Theissen as praising the developing talents of the 19-year-old, who is currently a test driver for Red Bull.</p>
<p>With Sebastian Vettel moving on to the senior team in 2009, speculation has linked Buemi's name with the vacant seat at Toro Rosso.</p>
<p>But Theissen may also be interested, particularly following Buemi's run of good form in GP2, the F1 feeder category.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>"When he was in formula BMW, he was very young but immediately very fast.</em></p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p><em>"He can still make the odd mistake, but I am following the GP2 championship very closely and I find that Sebastien is making consistent progress." </em></p></blockquote>
<p>He would not, however, be drawn on suggestions that Buemi is at the top of the list for a BMW-Sauber contract, perhaps initially as a test driver.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>"Let's see how his season progresses, but I am not saying no.</em>"</p></blockquote>
<p><strong>Neal's View:</strong> With Hiedfeld under pressure there may be a seat at BMW for next season. Unless Kubica signs a new contract there will be a spare seat at BMW next season. A Swiss driver would satisfy the needs of the Swiss-based team, and Swiss sponsors, Credit Suisse. Toro Rosso have a spare seat after Sebastien Vettel was promoted to the Red Bull squad and the Red Bull-backed racer could be next in line.</p>

<p>McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen was frustrated to endure yet another difficult race after he missed out on a podium finish for the sixth consecutive grand prix.</p>
<p>The Finn looked on course for just his second top three finish of the year at Hockenheim after running strongly behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa in the race’s first half.</p>
<p>But, not for the first time in 2008, the safety car period and ensuing pit lane melee cost him three positions and although he gained one back with a brilliant overtaking move on BMW’s Robert Kubica, was disappointed to end up fifth.</p>
<p>Kovalainen said:</p>
<blockquote><p>"<em>A very difficult race for me.</em>"</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p><em>“I had a good start and almost managed to pass Felipe but, unfortunately, my speed was not good enough, and I couldn’t make the tyres work to their best. </em></p>
<p><em>“The safety car period didn’t help me either, and I lost positions during my pit-stop. </em></p>
<p><em>“Then I lost time behind Kubica. </em></p>
<p><em>“However, I managed to overtake him again two laps later and, from then on, it was a rather uneventful race.” </em></p></blockquote>
<p>Kovalainen now hopes his luck will turn at the next round in Budapest.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>“Fifth position was not what I had hoped to achieve here,” he admitted. </em></p>
<p><em>“But I am now looking forward to the Hungarian Grand Prix, where I will try my hardest to fight for a podium finish."</em></p></blockquote>
<p>McLaren boss Ron Dennis reiterated his faith in Kovalainen to start scoring stronger finishes soon and praised the Finn’s move on Kubica on the exit to the complex section of the lap.</p>
<p>Dennis said:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>As I've said before, Heikki's time will come.</em>"</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p><em>“In difficult circumstances he raced tremendously well today – his overtaking manoeuvre on Robert Kubica was just sensational – and once again he showed a winner's grit and determination. </em></p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p><em>“It's a joy to have two drivers who are not only super-competitive but also super-cooperative."</em></p></blockquote>
<p><strong>Neal's View:</strong> Kovy hasn't performed as strongly as he would have liked. The silly season has started and Rosberg is being linked with his seat. If McLaren are to finish in the top two of the Constructors' Championship they cannot rely on Lewis alone.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Se busca Campeón del Mundo]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>O por lo menos yo busco uno. Recientemente hemos oido por el paddock de todo: "Cambiaría la F1 por los rallies", "La vida en la F1 es estresante", " Tengo contrato por tres años ¿recuerdan?" y otras muchas declaraciones. Estos "palabros" son de aspirantes a Campeones del Mundo, las cuales ya habreís reconocido. Y dan un buen feeling de lo que ocurre esta temporada que es como si nadie quisiera llevarse de manera clara el gato al agua.</p>
<p>Tengo varias sensaciones hacia los 4 claros candidatos al Mundial, a saber Kimi Raikonnen, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton y Robert Kubica. Estos hombres que pueden hacer lo que muy pocos, tienen diferentes actitudes con respecto a la victoria final. Unas me gustan más que otras.</p>
<p>Para empezar Kimi. Un hombre de un talento extraordinario que tan sólo necesitó doce carreras en monoplazas para que Peter Sauber se fijara en él. Al año siguiente pilotaba un Sauber de F1. El "pero" de Kimi reside en su actitud, bajo mi siempre cuestionable opinión le falta la "sangre" de los grandes campeones. Le escasea, por su finas y congeladas venas finlandesas tan solo fluye talento (que no es poco y le ha dado un merecido Campeonato del Mundo) pero le falta esa "sangre", que no solo hace grande campeones sino que arrastra a la afición con él.</p>
<p>Por contra tenemos a Felipe Massa. Que bajo de nuevo, mi nuevamente cuestionable punto de vista, tiene más "sangre" que cualquiera de los demás, mientras anda algo falto de talento (que ya quisiera tener yo ese talento que digo es escaso). Dentro de esos niveles de talento extraordinario que pueden presumir los 20 hombres de la parrilla, creo que Massa se encuentra un pelín por debajo de pilotos como Kimi, Lewis o el mismo Kubica. Y cuando hablo de esa "sangre" es la actitud del piloto. Me imagino el incidente en boxes de Canadá, pero en vez de Kimi con Massa. Massa habría saltado al cuello de Hamilton (no literalmente, espero) pero la bronca habría sido considerable y no la palmadita de Kimi. Es como el GP de Europa del año pasado en Nurburgring con Alonso, la bronca que tuvieron es por que los dos quieren ganar, pero de tal modo, que que no pueden reprimirse. Es ser más Senna, que lejos de su calidad como piloto, lo que tenía era una tremenda pasión por ganar y lo demostraba si hacía falta a puños con Schumacher.</p>
<p>Mas parecido a Kimi que a Massa tenemos a Robert. Talento que sobra, y ya podía repartir, pero me dejó muy frio su actuación en Francia. Defendía liderato en el campeonato y fue como si no se jugase nada, veía como no empujaba, que no quería ir a tope, y me dió mucha rabia. Su declaración, que ya comenté hace días "Prefiero los rallies a la F1", pues lectores no se vosotros pero desde luego creo que alguien que puede estar donde quiera y no está agusto en F1... En fin que tengo muchas esperanzas de espectáculo en este hombre y espero que con el tiempo su actitud hacia la F1 mejore.</p>
<p>Y por último el innombrable, Lewis Hamilton. Para mí, el más equilibrado de los cuatro. Tiene sangre, pero no demasiada, pues de vez en cuando sale con alguna tontería o panochada y tiene talento pero también la caga. Pero en el baremo total sumando lo que tiene de talento y sangre creo que sale ganador en esta temporada. El otro día creo que en Silverstone se puedo ver de forma clara, pues pilotó soberbio, con cagada incluida, pero empujó hasta el final queriendo demostrar que es el mejor, doblando a cuantos más mejor, cosa que a mi me encanta. Pues si se ha de ganar, se gana arrasando.</p>
<p>Para mí la cosa al final de temporada creo que será una cosa entre Kimi y Hamilton, que Massa estará ahí sino deja que los errores como los de principio de temporada, los de Silverstone, o los de Francia (ojo que sino llega a ser por el tubo de escape de Kimi...) sean su rutina, ha de ser mas regular. </p>

<p>It's a three way tie for the Formula 1 Championship now with more than half the season gone. So who will take the top come season end? Will it be Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa or Kimi Raikkonen? Or perhaps Robert Kubica who is just two points shy of this fight for the championship.</p>
<p>My bets are on Lewis Hamilton this year. The McLaren-Mercedes MP4/23 may not be as balanced as the Ferrari F2008 but do not count it out. It is still a great car and they have significantly improved areas in which Ferrari has historically been the best. Silverstone is known as a Ferrari track, yet even in the dry practice and qualifying sessions the McLaren came out on top.</p>
<p>Kimi Raikkonen is the top rival to Lewis. He has been consistent and quick for the most part of this season. Marry that to arguably the best car on the grid and you have yourself one formidable contender. Keep an eye out for this Flying Finn.</p>
<p>It is uncertain on where Felipe Massa will end up in this battle for the championship. Two retirements and a poor performance in the wet at Silverstone has prevented Felipe from retaining the championship lead. Only the next few races will tell what will happen with Felipe Massa.</p>
<p>The surprise in this fight comes from BMW's Robert Kubica. Although it is obvious the BMW F1.08 is not quite on the same pace as Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes, the BMW Sauber team has made vast improvements to the team over the past two years. Whether or not Robert Kubica will be in the final fight for the championship, he has been consistent and will definitely be one of the top finishers. Only time will tell if this team will push this season with development of the car or hold off for 2009.</p>
<p>So under the circumstances, I expect Lewis to take the championship for 2008. Although there is that certain thing called unpredictability that clings to this sport. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.</p>

<p>Hoje foi um dia histórico para o automobilismo brasileiro:a 23 anos um brasileiro não ganhava em Magny Cours,a última tinha sido Nelson Piquet em 1985 com uma Brabham,e a 15 anos um brasileiro não liderava o mundial de F1,a última vez foi com Senna em 1993.</p>
<p>Na largada Massa continuou em segundo e Alonso que largara em terceiro perdeu 2 posições,Trulli e Kubica,Kubica parte para cima de Trulli,mas fica por fora e Alonso o passa.</p>
<p>Massa estava mais pesado,mas na volto onde ele teria que abrir muito tempo Lewis Hamilton o atrapalhou e ele ficou em segundo(Hamilton tinha largado de 13 e depois recebeu um <em>Drive tour</em> por passar Sebastian Vettel indevidamente)</p>
<p>Mas aí a sorte bateu a porta do brasileiro:um pedeço do escapamento saiu do caro de Raikonnen fazendo ele perder rendimento,ele foi e passou o atual campeão do mundo.</p>
<p>No final a corrida ganhou um clima dramático:começou a chover pouco na pista e os pilotos tiveram que ter muito cuidado para não rodarem.</p>

<p>No final Massa foi primeiro,Raikonnen segundo e Trulli(ganhando um lindo duelo com Kovalainen) foi terceiro.</p>
<p>Mas o grande destaque do dia foi Nelsinho Piquet que ficou em sétimo pilotando com maestria e passando Fernando Alonso na última volta,boa Nelsinho!!!</p></div>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Quando cruzou a linha de chegada no GP da França, Felipe Massa quebrou dois tabus. Há 23 anos o Brasil não vencia em Magny Cours e há 15 não liderava o mundial de F-1. Felipe Massa tem talento de sobra! Suas vitórias calaram alguns de seus críticos fervorosos que o detonavam pelo campeonato inconstante de 2007 que o mantinha atrás do Kimi. Ainda, Felipe Massa não peca pela boca. É muito melhor nas entrevistas do que Rubens Barrichello. E talvez por isso não receba tanta pressão, tantas críticas, piadas e ofensas injustas.</p>
<p>Está de parabéns! Campeões precisam de sorte. O maior exemplo recente, Michael Schumacher, era inegavelmente genial. Mas tinha uma sorte incomum. Pelos últimos desempenhos em GPs, Massa torna-se o piloto a ser batido. Mas não devemos dar tanto tempo de mídia para essa liderança. O tombo pode ser doloroso. Uma liderança se ganha num GP e se perde no seguinte. Felipe Massa tem de manter o foco. E a sorte.</p>

<p><strong>Alonso de saída?</strong></p>
<p>Robert Kubica, da BMW, afirmou que o espanho da Renault pode integrar o time alemão no ano que vem: <em>"Sim, acredito que Fernando Alonso pode vir no         ano que vem para cá (...) Claro que gostaria de correr com Alonso, já que         no final das contas é um bicampeão do mundo e penso que poderia         trazer muito para a equipe porque é um grande piloto"</em>.</p>
<p>Não duvido. A BMW tem dinheiro e um bom carro. A Renault não promete muito. Alonso está perto da aposentadoria, segundo o próprio. Aposto que ele gostaria de deixar a F-1 numa última temporada competitiva, correndo sério risco de deixar Ron Dennis e Lewis Hamilton para trás.</p>
<p>E, cá pra nós, Kubica e Alonso, que dupla!</p>
<p><strong>O patrão elogia Piquet</strong></p>
<p><em>"Nelson fez uma corrida extraordinária, bastante consistente e         agressiva. Estou bastante satisfeito em tê-lo visto marcar seus         primeiros pontos neste domingo"</em>, afirmação de Flavio Briattore. Piquet tem muito talento e não merecia as cobranças imediatistas que sofreu. Daqui pra frente, só com pistas conhecidas, aposto em mais pontos pra ele.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many pundits have apparently been getting at Lewis Hamilton in the British tabloid press. I gave up reading UK newspapers some years ago they invent and write what they want just to sell advertising, no longer the truth as was once the case. But that's another story.</p>
<p>Whatever, the situation certainly hasn't been made any easier by McLaren who have completely mucked up Hamilton's race stategies lately, perhaps because they are giving the second year rookie just too much slack.  I mean, he even chose his own teammate this year. Then there's the McLaren race strategy record which seems to be stuck on "Try to win every race" rather than 'Focus on the long view and win the Championship".</p>
<p>That's very strange because last year Hamilton was Mr Consistency, and was peacefulness and calm personified. This year he has transformed into the rookie that he patently was not last year. This year, the Mr Consistency badge has been taken over by Robert Kubica, who has managed to lead the championship already despite being in a slower car than his rivals.</p>
<p>The problems seemed to begin in those last two races last year, when Lewis only needed 4 points from the 20 available in the last two races to clinch the Championship. Instead of playing it safe, and going for those points, Lewis and the team focussed on winning, winning, winning, on seemingly showing the whole world how superior Lewis was - at all costs.</p>
<p>OK, anyone can make a mistake in their first season, but you would have expected such a harsh lesson to have been learned back then, and not repeated again in 2008. You can clearly see that Kimi aims for every last point: he clearly did learn from last year.</p>
<p>But there we were in Canada, with Lewis not content to just be first, he seemed to be attempting to lap everyone as well. Naturally, he is a gifted driver, and can do things in a car that many others cannot, but clearly he should have been told by his team about the red light, if they didn't drum it into him before the race. So many drivers have been caught out by this silly rule this year.</p>
<p>So, there we were with Lewis going for track position even in the pit lane when it was clear the other cars were on a lighter fuel load and so not really a threat to him despite being in front coming out of the pits. That was the team's fault, of course. They have the strategic displays of possible outcomes on their laptops, they should read the race better and provide Lewis with better info in a more timely manner. Like, er, shouting "Red Light!" a bit earlier, perhaps...?</p>
<p>Anyway, after the ten grid position penalty was imposed, it should have been clear that the team should not be focussing on a win in France, but on gathering more points. It seems they took the risky option again though, allowed Lewis his head, and while overhyped and possibly over-confident, the unrestrained Hamilton once again tried to barge into the lead from thirteenth on a track renowned for being difficult - if not next to impossible - to overtake on.</p>
<p>Pre-race interviews with Lewis Hamilton himself clearly showed his over-confident, rap-star influenced ego poking through, and a strategy of light fuel load and soft tyres added to the disbelief that there was any focus at all on winning over the course of the season, rather than just at this race.</p>
<p>Post race interviews with Martin Whitmarsh show this emphasis is unlikely to be changed by anything he will do or say to Hamilton. The <a href="http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/68593">McLaren Managing Director went on record</a> saying that Lewis "has got to believe that he can win in Britain and come out on equal points." Again, no mention of the long haul or the Championship, just another attempt at full points again, like scoring 8 or 6 points is somehow failing.</p>
<p>The team really should be giving Lewis more direction, and more capable direction at that. Still, maybe they are and Lewis listens more to his "friends" now. In one pre-race interview he was talking of a text message he received from a great friend before the race about how greatness comes not from winning a race from the front, but from the rear and fighting your way through. A shame that person didn't remember how difficult passing at Magny-Cours always is...</p>
<p>Churchill said that "Politics is the art of the possible" and maybe that's a lot more transferable than we think. But maybe Whitmarsh just doesn't have the broad grasp of things that Lewis needs him to have. Whitmarsh seems to be no chess player.</p>
<p>No wonder Anthony Hamilton looks glum in the pits these days.</p>

<p>Aproveitando-se de um problema na Ferrari do finlandês Kimi Raikkonen, que largou na pole, o brasileiro Felipe Massa venceu neste domingo o Grande Prêmio da França e tomou a liderança do Mundial de Pilotos do polonês Robert Kubica, com 48 pontos somados.</p>
<p>Quando tudo parecia estar encaminhado para mais uma vitória de Raikkonen em Magny-Cours, um problema no escapamento do finlandês permitiu que Massa tirasse uma desvantagem de seis segundos e assumisse a primeira posição da prova a 32 voltas do final.</p>
<p>Na ponta, o brasileiro apenas administrou a vantagem e, mesmo com as ameaças de chuva, não teve mais a posição colocada em perigo. Ao receber a bandeira quadriculada, o piloto da Ferrari vibrou bastante ainda dentro do carro.</p>
<p>Além da liderança, a Ferrari comemorou a dobradinha no pódio da etapa francesa, com o atual campeão em segundo. O italiano Jarno Trulli, da Toyota, segurou a pressão do finlandês Heikki Kovalainen no final e acabou com a terceira colocação.</p>
<p>Primeiro brasileiro a liderar o Mundial desde 1993, Massa também colocou fim ao jejum de 23 anos sem vitórias verde-amarelas em Magny-Cours. A última e única vez que isso aconteceu foi com quando Nelson Piquet protagonizou uma zebra ao vencer a disputa com uma Brabham.</p>
<p>Outro destaque brasileiro na prova foi Nelsinho Piquet, que ultrapassou o companheiro da Renault, Fernando Alonso, nas últimas voltas e somou os primeiros pontos na categoria, com o sétimo lugar.</p>
<p>Largando em 13º lugar por conta da punição graças à batida em Raikkonen no GP do Canadá, o britânico Lewis Hamilton fez mais uma de suas besteiras. Extremamente agressivo no início da prova, o piloto da McLaren passou Sebastian Vettel por fora do traçado, cortando caminho, tomou um drive-through quando era nono colocado e acabou em décimo.</p>
