Not Michael Palin from Monty Python... Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Savage was convinced on Friday that McCain and/or his handlers were trying to throw the election. One bad move after another. Her lack of experience was cited as making the "electablity" of this ticket weak.

Others have cited her stands on other issues as a plus. We will see...

More to come as this unfolds.

*** Now the 17 year old daughter is unmarried and 5 months pregnant, but is gonna marry the boy. Drama?

You just know she is gonna be on The View at some point. The word "vetting" keeps coming up and with any more "unknown" information or oops... Then we are back to McCain's judgement.

But, please...that was lost when he wouldn't make a commitment to even try to return the invaders... even the incarcerated ones...

So, this will end up as some "who is least liberal?" race.

And NONE of the media... (Not even Savage) is giving Nader a fair shake. Please, this is a race FULL of novices now.

And still wondering where Jesse Jackson and Sharpton are... and when newly reprogrammed mommy will emerge.

Where did they do with Al Gore? haha O yeah... And then there's Jimmy Carter that referred to Obama as... that boy? What?

Still don't wanna live in China or in that America... and hopefully straight Mex McCain will dump Carly Fiorina and grow some conservative values... yeah right.

In this time of political polarity, new media management and production studio Generate is hoping to bring the country together with its new online series, Republicrats. Debuting today on MSN, Republicrats follows the comedic presidential aspirations of Sean Masterson.

Masterson's political platform is his lack of one. His character doesn't harbor any of those pesky strong opinions on topics of the day. There will be 24 episodes of Republicrats with new episodes launching twice a week. Episode budgets weren't disclosed, but MSN picked up the production tab for the series after seeing the pilot Generate created.

Because of Masterson's political malleability, future episodes of the show will be determined by fan interaction. People can post comments or videos that help dictate which direction the series will take. For example, in the second episode, Masterson will start looking for a first lady (no virgins, please), and the fans can weigh in. Episodes are still being shot, which makes for an interesting production that has episodes with gaps being left for the audience to fill.

"From the production standpoint, the challenge is to get ahead of it so each episode is self-contained," said Jordan Levin, founding partner and CEO of Generate. "We need to be able to add and fill in those episodes."

Will Republicrats win over voters? When asked if he was looking for a specific success metric, Levin said "Buzz. That it's something that people can point to and say that this was one of those projects that was able to stick in people's heads."

That might be fine for a show MSN paid for, but after taking $6 million in funding back in March, Levin's going to need a metric a bit more concrete for the Generate-financed series Pink.

We have come to think of the range of political viewpoints as falling somewhere between the extreme

We have come to think of the range of political viewpoints as falling somewhere between the extreme right and the extreme left. In general the “right” represents a conservative, and possibly Republican, orientation, while the “left” represents a liberal, and possibly Democratic, orientation. The very idea of “right” and “left” begs a visual image of a horizontal line with the “left” leaning political point of view to the left of center and the “right” leaning political point of view found to the right of the center. Interestingly, I think most people feel that they themselves are in the “middle” while extreme points of view are found to the right and left of their central position. In this political landscape, the “right” and “left” are separated from each other along this line. And the further one leans one way or the other, the further they find themselves from those of the opposite point of view. This extreme polarization of the political spectrum pits one side against the other in such a way as to make it that common ground is only to be found in the “middle”, and that those on the other side of the “middle” are the enemy, the other, the problem. For those who see that they are not part of the “middle” and actually revel in their “right of center” or “left of center” position, those on the other side of “middle” are so far away from their political viewpoint that the distance seems insurmountable and leads to real animosity, even hatred.

I propose a different visual representation of the range of political opinion. Rather than a horizontal line running from left to right, I think that the political spectrum is better represented by a clock. In this visual representation, 12 o’clock would be the center position with conservative thought traveling in a clockwise motion and liberal thought traveling in counter clockwise motion. At the bottom of the clock, at 6 o’clock, you get a very similar viewpoint between extreme left and extreme right. This would be where the Libertarians gather. Recently, Presidential candidate Ron Paul has made an attempt to stake out this position. His appeal to both conservative (the US out of the United Nations) and liberal (legalization of drugs) is much easier to understand as the point where extreme views on both sides meet (at 6 o’clock), rather than the apparently confusing view of a horizontal line political spectrum where those two sides are constantly going in opposite directions.

In this circular political model, the Republican party covers the 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock area, with the Democratic Party covering the 10 o’clock to 12 o’clock area. There is obviously some overlap between the two, but for the most part the RepubliCrats cover the 10 to 2 o’clock position. That leaves a lot of political ground to be explored, and the idea that the extreme views are really not that far apart from each other, though they are both as far as possible from the “center”.

This model also has the advantage of showing that differing political positions are never all that far from each other. They are at most right across the political circle from each other, with any move one way or the other bringing people closer together rather than farther apart.

Unfortunately, those who hold to the old horizontal viewpoint maintain their hold on the political process by convincing us that they hold the “center” and that without their political expertise we would be in a constant state of political drift that would be dangerous to the stability of our country. Nothing could be further from the truth. The RepubliCrats in power actually hold down a very small portion of the available political spectrum. We should feel free to explore the rest of the political circle. We should listen to people who represent these other areas of political thought and we should certainly not relegate them to outsider status. In truth, most US citizens think in these other areas already. One reason our political campaigns go on for so long and people take so much time making up their minds as to which candidate best represents their own views is that we are constantly trying to reconcile our 2 o’clock to 10 o’clock political views with their 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock views. So most of us are spending all our time trying how much political backtracking we are willing to do to fit into the prescribed political spectrum.

Let’s just get it over with quickly. President George W. Bush is an idiot. He is by far the most inarticulate, uneducated, unqualified person to hold the office of President of the United States that I have personally witnessed, and I suspect that those qualities apply to the entire history of this country. The fact that he should not have been allowed to occupy the office in the first place aside, he has single-handedly damaged the political and moral authority of the office both here in the US and around the world.

Here is a short list of abilities G.W. Bush lacks:

· Statesmanship

· Leadership

· Historical perspective

· The ability to speak in complete sentences

· The ability to use the English language correctly

Every time I hear him speak I can’t help but think, “How did this guy get elected to anything”? He is constantly using the phrase “in other words”. He uses it to further explain a dead simple idea he has just articulated with as few basic words as possible. There is no way that the original statement was unclear, and the further explanation is no more enlightening than the statement it seeks to further explain.

When all is said and done, the administration of G.W. Bush will have the following to answer for:

· The only foreign terrorist attacks (4 of them) on US soil

· Taking the sympathy of nearly the entire world after 911 and throwing it away

· Doing absolutely nothing to help the Israeli/Palestinian crisis

· The overthrow and occupation of a sovereign nation

· The murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians

· The degradation of the integrity of the US armed forces

· A rapidly failing dollar

· Economic crisis at home

· The highest gas prices in history (this despite his secret meetings with the titans of the energy industry and the occupation of one of the richest supplies of oil)

· Incarcerating people with no access to legal representation

· Suspending Habeas Corpus

· Torture/Extreme rendition

This speech from the Revolution March, reprinted at Lew Rockwell, has coined a meme that will be very useful to us: the permanent party. Charles Goyette uses this term to refer the the Democrats and the Republicans, those two hemispheres of the same criminal mind.

I like it: the Free Independents versus the Permanent Party.

It subtly echoes Mexico's quiet revolution against the Institutional Revolutionary Party that ruled with an iron fist for 80 years.

Partly due to flaws in our electoral system (see RangeVoting.Org for an explanation), the older generation often thinks in lesser-of-two-evils terms: "if I vote Republican, my kids might die in Iraq and the Federal Government will go bankrupt; if I vote Democrat, my kids might starve on the street and the Federal tax burden will skyrocket. Either way, we're all going to carry National ID Cards and virtually stripped searched every time we fly a plane." So, if it's an older, wealthier male, he votes Republican, and vice versa. Yet, we're all told time and again to 'get out the vote.' Why? What an exercise in pointlessness.

I say if you're voting for the Permanent Party, it's a wasted vote. Why cast that symbolic ballot of support when the PP is going to win every election anyway, and they don't represent your beliefs? Use that one day of energy to write a letter to the editor asking for an electoral reform referendum on the next ballot. Now, that's worth your time (and you won't spend any money on gas).

Anyway, the speech linked above is worth a read. As far as I'm concerned, there is no two-party system, only members of the Permanent Party and the rest of us.

As reported at wired.com, John McCain's got a lot of telecom connections. He even thinks that Bush's wiretapping is legally "ambiguous." Yeah, the US Constitution *miiight* mention it somewhere near the end. /roll eyes

Below is a list of some people close to McCain:

Charlie Black, a top McCain political adviser, worked for lobbying firm BKSH until March of this year. AT&T paid the firm $120,000 for the first three months of 2008, in part to lobby for the FISA amendments. Black was listed as one of AT&T's lobbyists.

The influential Wayne Berman, one of McCain's national finance co-chairs, works for Ogilvy, a prestigious lobbying firm which represents AT&T on FISA. Berman was listed in the first quarter of 2008 as having lobbied for the company.

John Green, also from Oglivy, lobbied on wiretap bills and amnesty for AT&T. He now reportedly works as a full-time liaison to Congress for the McCain campaign.

Dan Coats, a member of the McCain's Justice Advisory Committee, <del>formerly</del> lobbies for Sprint on FISA reform.

This November, don't vote for a corporate, money-pandering tool like McCain or Obama. Ralph Nader would never conspire with telecoms to secretly listen in on your personal conversations.

Vote for Ralph Nader and an America you can be proud of!

Forget the sham election "choices" and vote for the only candidate who will work for real changes, ending our wasteful occupation of Iraq, giving you "none of the above" on the ballot, calling for universal healthcare, and a check on corporate power. Vote for Ralph Nader and a better America!

Whenever I voice my opinion that Nader is the best presidential candidate with the most progressive

Whenever I voice my opinion that Nader is the best presidential candidate with the most progressive platform, many people quickly agree and say they "wish" they could vote for him, as though there were something preventing them from ticking the box on the ballot. I try to press them on this and they always say something to the tune of "it's a wasted vote" or "then a Republican will win the election." This goes to show just how deeply ingrained the Democrat party's rhetoric has become in our society, as well as the twisted logic of a "wasted vote." Democrats use progressives Americans' fears of Republican rule to trick them into voting for the "lesser" of two evils ("Lesser" because the Democrats are equally complicit in maintaining American militarism and corporate power -- they just actually allow minorities to take part in the process).

The logic behind the "wasted vote" mentality really isn't logical at all: "He won't win anyway, so why should I vote for him?" This is tantamount to the reasoning one makes when betting on a football game. Americans want to back a winning side more than they want to empower themselves by voting for a likely loser. But democracy's not a football game and a ballot isn't a betting slip. Democracy isn't a gamble, it's about saying what you believe should happen in the face of adversity. If you are so sure one of the other two parties will win, it's a bigger waste NOT to vote for someone else.

To use the football analogy again: It's a playoff game, your team is down by two scores in the fourth quater. Do you keep punting on 4th down or do you start using every opportunity left to scrap out a victory? Those who will vote Democrat based on the expectation that Nader won't win are essentially punting away a playoff game, accepting defeat.

Isn't it funny -- Americans are told not to accept defeat when our young men and women are dying by the thousands in an ill-conceived and illegal "war," but when it comes to voting, our one chance to empower ourselves, we shut up and vote for the same bunch of people who created all of our problems in the first place. Is that the America you grew up believing, the America you want to live in? It's time to empower ourselves and make our voices heard by the corporate-owned Democrats and Republicans. Don't punt away your democracy.

Sheldon Richman writes:

I can predict the winner of the presidential election even now: the government. In a one-party system, that's how things work. One-party system? Yes. The American political scene makes much more sense if you think of the two parties as two divisions of the same party.

Admittedly that is hard to do at first. All American politics is presented as a tooth-and-claw rivalry between Republicans and Democrats. It is certainly true that elections determine who holds office among the parties' candidates, and who holds office determines whose cronies get sinecures and contracts. That does give the appearance of real competition.

Moreover, the major news media are willing participants in the charade that Republicans and Democrats have substantially different ideas about things. Generally, we are asked to believe that Republicans want less government and more war, while the Democrats want more government and less war.

As you may have noticed, that makes no sense. War and government go hand in hand, and both parties want more government. Each side tends to dislike only the wars started by the other side.

I refer to them as Republicrats. Maybe they should be called the War Party.

The following essay was written by a member of a Ron Paul Meetup group that goes by the name of Geor

The following essay was written by a member of a Ron Paul Meetup group that goes by the name of George Washington (his essays have appeared here before). As administrator of this blog, I will tell you that when this individual speaks, I listen. Every time I open my email, I hope to find his messages waiting for me.

Thanks Mr, Washington, for putting things into perspective for t he rest of us. My offer to come on as a contributor still stands.

-Todash19

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any of you still think my identifying the GOP elites (the GOP party boss thugs) as Nazi fascists as "too caustic" and simply "name-calling"?

Delegates are, in some degree, like members of Congress, representing the people of their precinct and Districts. To so nakedly undermine and attempt to subvert the People's will and voices is as fascist as it gets. More of the same agenda: Black out, shut out, undermine Dr. Paul's voice and message at all costs; Keep the MSM from reporting on his campaign and message; Block him from participating in Republican debates; Rig and fix the voting results.

This is genuine fascism - it's how it was done in Europe- through corrupt manipulation of the political process, the fascists were "elected" into power by "fair electioneering" just like this! The carefully controlled mass media and propaganda convinced the masses to go along in lock-step with "the Party's platform."

Also reminiscent of communist states as well -- Fascists have "elections" and "open party deliberations" -- And the candidates and representatives that have been pre-selected and approved by the Committee give the People a "fair choice" of who to goosestep behind: Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, McMussolini --- You see, the Party's Select Committee gives the people choices. See, we have choices. . . What's the problem?

It took FORTY YEARS for the Republican Party to regain the majority - they did this in 1994 under the Contract with America that contractually promised a restoration of Constitutionally limited government. I believe the young fresh conservative Republicans sent to Washington were sincere and committed to restoring control over the runaway government. But the powers that actually control our government quickly shut them down. Ever since then, Congress has behaved as though they've had a gun to their heads - going along and passing unconstitutional draconian legislation with little to no opposition from "the opposition party." And the average person can't seem to make sense of it all. The American People absolutely do not support the unconstitutional wars of aggression and demand the US cease and desist and bring the troops home - The Dems hear their voices and could politically capitalize on this issue - but instead, advocate and support the continuation of the same foreign policies . . .??? No impeachment proceedings; no Congressional investigations into the nearly incalcuable felonies, high crimes and misdomeanors, including defiant contempt of Congress. Where's the Congressional will and voice of the People?! They're undeniably afraid and intimidated . . . . By who?! and By what?!

The Grand Old Party is imploding -- Elitist Insiders, backroom dealing, unethical, lawless undermining the will of the People and fair and impartial elections -- If the core conservative base departs and forms/joins a new party, the GOP will forever be a "third party" out of power, as it has abandoned its historic principles and Americanism. Once it's credibility as the conservative party is gone, the GOP party will forever be fractured and finished as a major party.

Like I stated at our last quorum delegate meeting: Be prepared and expect to play hardball with the fascists of the party at State. Don't think the WA state GOP elite will conduct themselves any differently than NV - This is a centrally managed and directed National Party agenda: Install the elite's select puppet. The state and county officials (yes, there are exceptions to this) are goosesteping to the directives of national GOP thugs attempting to manipulate and undermine the People's will in the GOP in order to install another neo-con fascist committed to advancing the Homeland [IN]Security Surveillance Police State of the New World Fourth Reich Fascist Order (North American Union, SPP, open undefended national borders, open uncontrolled immigration, the Fed Reserve criminal syndicate, etc. etc.).

The more the GOP thugs spit on and mock the core conservative base of the Republican Party, openly violate the laws and rules and openly attempt to openly subvert the will of the Republican majority and the People (pushing a pre-designed outcome), they are guaranteeing the GOP will lose both the Presidential election and perhaps several more Congressional and Senatorial seats. John McCain absolutely does not have the support of the core base, and will not excite Democrats to vote for another neo-con republicrat for four-more years!

Of course, what will a Hillary or Obama presidency mean?

The continuation of the war-mongering interventionist foreign policy

Moving the New World Fourth Reich Fascist Global Order to power (Just like the neo-con Republicrats)

The North AmeriKan [Soviet bloc] Union

The SPP

Further empowering the criminal syndicate known as the Federal Reserve

Furthering the establishment of a fully functioning totalitarian police state in the US, Canada and Mexico

The complete dissolution of the American Constitutional Republic

Based on the numbers of voter turnout (Dems v. Repubs) Dems will bury the Republicans this year. Like it or not, the Dems are as enthusiastic and fanatical about their candidate/s, and are very motivated by anti-neo-con Republicrat sentiment (HATE) as Ron Paul supporters. Many of them mistakenly believe the Dem candidate will actually end the illegal foreign wars and destructive military foreign policies. No matter - what they do know for certain is McCain will absolutley carry on perpetual illegal offensive wars, including initiating a war with Iran that will most likely bring the US to war with Russia, China and North Korea and will commit further war crimes in our name, and act against the will of the People and the Constitution.

The ONLY ONE candidate who can change this outcome and the course of America - Dr. Ron Paul. Only his message of Americanism that embraces ALL Americans can win a majority of support from all Americans, not just Republicans. That is why so many RP supporters are disenfranchised Democrats and liberal Americans.

Compare Dr. Paul's reception to his speech to the NV Convention to the dead silent response McCain's spokeswoman received here in Clark County. While other former candidates had supporters who were deeply passionate about their candidacy (Romney, Huckabee) McCain does not have such broad support. Romney's abandonment of his supporters will not allow him to be the water-boy for McCain - Romney's campaign debate messages clearly idenfying McCain as unfit are not forgotten. Conservatives of real conviction and principle simply cannot and will not vote for McCain, period.

The NWO fascists and their MSM propagandists are betting on one thing: FEAR. "If you don't vote for McMussolini and suport the neo-con Global fascists, America will have a woman or black Marxist communist Global fascist as president, Osama Ben Laden, the omnipotent evil one, will come to your house and kill you and your family and the Demican puppet won't answer your phone call at 3:00 a.m. to come and save you and -- and we simply can't have that. . . " The illusion of the Matrix is finally beginning to fail.

While I thought our county convention was, for the most part, very balanced and respectful (we most certainly didn't face this type of militant fascism, and Clark County GOP officials were actually very respectul), our intelligence conference calls reported similar lawless unethical tactics at other county conventions. ALL of the WA State GOP elite will be joined together. No doubt the fascists are strategizing over what transpired in NV this weekend and how to thwart the Ron Paul majority in Washington and other conventions around the country.

One item worth noting of the NV Convention: Chairwoman Lowden pointed out that she afforded Dr. Paul the opportunity to speak to the delegates directly (She should be commended and thanked for this!!) -- AND ALL OTHER CONVENTIONS ARE NOT ALLOWING DR. PAUL TO ADDRESS THE GOP DELEGATES! More fascist gatekeeping, more bias, more manipulation.

Is it possible to push for Dr. Paul to speak at the WA State Convention? What about scheduling a speech within close proximity to the Convention, even outside so Delegates can hear Dr. Paul for themselves before deciding?

Imagine a vast land mass some 3.5 million square miles across. Such a large body of land would include some of the worlds hottest deserts and coldest mountain tops. There would be oceans lapping at its shores, powerful rivers running through it, and lakes of all sizes. It would have deep forests and endless grasslands. You could find some of the world’s oldest and tallest trees, abundant plant life, and countless types of animal life.

Of course this land would be inhabited by about 300 million people. People of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. In fact it would be the most diverse human population on the planet. There would be an infant mortality rate that would be the envy of the world and health care so good that citizens lived well into their 80’s and 90’s. There would be people speaking every language known to man. These people would be among the best educated population on Earth. Through the course of history, people from this land would create great art, invent the most amazing machines, find cures for diseases, and redefine life as we know it.

Of course there would also be terrible suffering and injustice. Some people would be mistreated and even die needlessly. But what would you expect from such a large and diverse population. Such an incredibly rich culture would manifest both the best and worst of human experience.

Now imagine that all the political decisions this society had to deal with came down to a choice between only two possibilities. In this land of seemingly endless ideas and orientations, there are only really two political points of view that can be tolerated. Wouldn’t that be the most ridiculous and narrow minded situation imaginable?

Unfortunately, that is the situation the citizens of The United States of America find themselves in.

We tell ourselves that we have a multi-party political system. We don’t. There is very little difference between Republicans and Democrats. Their main difference simply being they will take the opposite side of most issues. It doesn’t really matter what issue, or what side. As long as they can convince us that one of them has the right answer and the other is wrong, we seem to have a choice. In fact, they have done their job so well that the “choice” between two things has come to permeate our entire lives. Coke or Pepsi? Mac or PC? McDonalds or Burger King? XM or Sirius? Black or white? Its no wonder the very words “diversity” or “multi-cultural” send lots of people into a tizzy. What could be wrong with a diversity of people? Or religion? Or political ideas? What could be wrong with a multi-cultural society or education. Too many choices. Sweet or unsweet? For or against? Republican or Democrat? They even have us convinced that the dreaded “third party” candidates weaken the system and take votes away from the “viable” candidates. You will be told that you are throwing away your vote if you don’t vote for a RepubliCrat and dare to think that someone else might have a political point of view that could be credible.

You would have to crazy to think that the two main political parties represent the incredible diversity of opinion of our vast population. The RepubliCrats hold political power in this country. They are the same people. Each is the others reason for being. They are two sides of the same coin. They will not solve our political, economic, or social problems. They are, for the most part, the problem.

Most of the “issues” facing our country could be solved fairly easily by changing the behavior of our elected officials.

Social Security: get rid of Congressional pensions (taxpayer money) and require all Congressional delegates of retirement age to live on their Social Security money.

Health Care: get rid of the Congressional health care plan (taxpayer money) and make Congress pay for their own health care. (Oh yeah, and support Organic farms and a clean environment so folks don’t get as sick as often. But that’s another rant).

Mortgage Crisis/Rising gas prices/Credit crunch/Ethics violations: each person in Congress should receive a salary that represents the average salary of their constituents. No perks. No special deals. No special interest group gifts. I imagine most of the problems that working class Americans face would disappear if our lawmakers had to play by the same rules we play by.

I don’t know if any of this makes me a Liberal or a Conservative (choices, remember?). I don’t think those terms have any real meaning. Once again, they are just part of the political landscape that seeks to blind us from our real options. I believe that trying to solve our problems from inside the box is doomed to failure. We should be rewriting the script. Don’t just think “outside the box”. Forget about the box. A box is only there to keep something from getting as big as it want to get. Get big.

Firstly, I had a terrible day, but not as bad as Charlie..who was sporting a black eye on the left side. His comment was that he tripped and fell on the pavement. Yikes.

He did a show on how over the weekend JPMorganChase has agreed to buy a failing BearStearns bank for $2/share in some super conference call involving the FED and other major banks.

Something about liquidity (available cash) being in jeopardy as some had demanded their money investments back from BearStearns.

The word "recession" keeps getting said but now "depression" and "run on banks" is creeping more and more into these discussions.

It seems that everyone is in a "wait and see" mode as more and more of the foreclosures in the housing markets come to completion.

Frankly, I didn't come away with much hope about the economy for the next few years. Not good...

I would love to hear Bill Maher or Michael Savage discuss this...

A very surreal interview where Terry Moran checks in with Heidi Fleiss to better understand the recent alegations and public acknowledgements of the Democratic governor from New York. What drives a man to do this?

What I learned was...

- It's been going on since Adam and Eve (Eve was a hoe? wow...)

- Men just wanna get laid (check)

- Her issue with what happened was that he was a zealot and then involved in it (fair enough)

- He could have gone the Bunny Ranch (Where is that again?)

- prostitution needs to be regulated, make it fair

That Terry Moran just clears it right up.
