Confesso que quando o Twitter estava começando a conquistar os brasileiros, assim como o Orkut, relutei para não me cadastrar. Pensava: poxa mais uma coisa pra tomar conta e fazer parte dos momentos fúteis da semana?! mais uma coisa para receber spam no e-mail ou para ficar entrando de vez em quando só para acompanhar o que tá rolando?! Pois é, como trabalhava com internet, e a maioria de meus amigos se cadastraram, lá fui eu me enfiar em mais uma mídia social (afinal são inúmeras... Orkut, Messenger, Facebook, hi5 e por aí vai).

A princípio não via graça naquele treco de fundo azul e detalhes em amarelo, onde só podia escrever frases com até 140 caracteres. What a hell?! Eu não escrevia nada, só acompanhava meus amigos mandando inúmeras mensagens xis, e uma vez ou outra alguns links interessantes.

Essa rede social funciona como um mini-blog, o usuário atualiza quantas vezes quiser, porém esse texto deve conter no máximo 140 caracteres e pode ser atualizado através do próprio site, programa especializados, e-mail e também pelo SMS. As atualizações aparecem no perfil dos usuários e também para as pessoas que a seguem (amigos, conhecidos, admiradores por ai vai...).

Após relutar, hoje passo meus momentos fúteis do dia atualizando a página do Twitter (simmmmm, a página do Twitter, pq o Firefox 3 não deixa o TwitterFox* funcionar!!!!) para saber o que anda rolando com as pessoas, quais são as fofocas (sim, é possível pescar algumas coisinhas... rsrsrs), músicas e links bacanas.

O Twitter se tornou um grande fenômeno, e grande parte do povo já faz parte dessa nova rede. Uma rede em que com 140 caracteres é possível: dizer o que vc está sentindo, o que está te incomodando, qual são suas dúvidas (as respostas são instantâneas, afinal todo mundo tem momentos fúteis!); pedir sugestões de sites, músicas, vídeos; expressar seu amor, ódio, rancor; relatar fatos verídicos e inéditos a qualquer momento entre outros.
