Press TV: Daei: Dejagah will not play for Iran

Ali Daei, Iran's national soccer head coach, says he has no intention of calling upon the services of Iranian-born Ashkan Dejagah.

“I never intended to invite him to play for Iran,” the former captain of the national team told reporters on Monday. “Besides, FIFA rules set an age limit for players switching nationality.”

FIFA allows a soccer player to change nationality if he has dual citizenship and makes the request under the age of 21, rendering Dejagah, 22, ineligible.

“Dejagah considers himself a German and is currently playing for German teams,” Daei, Iran's all-time leading scorer with 109 goals, added.

In 2007, Dejagah sparked an outcry in Germany after the VFL Wolfsburg player announced he would not accompany Germany's under-21 national soccer team to Tel Aviv, out of respect for his homeland.

"I have more Iranian blood than German in my veins," Dejagah said.

In October 2007, Iran's Vice-president Mohammad Aliabadi had expressed willingness to have the Iranian-born German soccer player join the Iranian squad.

Ferydoon Zandi, another Iranian-German soccer player, is currently playing for the national Iranian team.

The Western Media still talks about Tibet and China as if both were separate countries. Before talki

The Western Media still talks about Tibet and China as if both were separate countries. Before talking about this soc called Tibetan Issue, let us separate politics from sports. Politics and Sports are to be separated with the people participating in the Olympics with the objective of doing their best to win and have a good time. If a country does not win a medal in the Olympics, the most important thing is to enjoy the Olympics and to enjoy the venue.
The idea of Chinese Mistreatment of Tibet is all a misunderstanding concocted by the Western Mainstream Media as a response to being envious that an Asian Country such as China is hosting the Olympics. Whether the people want to accept the reality or not, Tibet has always been a part of China. There is one China and that is the People's Republic of China. The People's Republic of China extends from Central Asia and includes Taiwan and 300 miles of maritime territory after Taiwan. I have said this many times in the United States of America and in China.

According to the studies made by Dr. Hu Yan, the British invaded Tibet three times [1888, 1903, and 1904] in an attempt to separate Tibet from China. The purpose was to create a buffer state against China and Russia. Historical Papers that were released by the Hoover Institution, Stamford University, and the Soong Institute revealed the same subject in a telegram between Kuomintang Leader Chiang Kai Shek and his Finance Minister T.V. Soong. The telegram verbatim states the following which was dated the 21st of May 1943:
"Soong: Churchill [Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1940-1945 and 1951-1955] said that recently it has been alleged that China has concentrated troops in order to attack Tibet I replied that I have never heard of such a message."
"And meanwhile, I said that Tibet is not an independent nation, as Churchill had claimed. All previous agreements between China and Britain have recognized that China possesses sovereign rights in Tibet, and I believe this fact has already been under your careful examination."
Chiang replied with the following: ""By treating Tibet as an independent country, Churchill has denied the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country. It's a great insult. I did not expect Britain would make such a statement Tibet is part of China's territory, and Tibetan affairs are China's domestic affairs."" This was the end of the telegraph.

Another article by Paul Mazza recounts how China introduced Buddhism to Tibet
and how Tibet has been an integral part of China for more than 700 years. Paul Mazza talks about how the British attempted to create a Foreign Bureau inside the so called Tibet and once forced the Thirteenth Dalai Lama to leave Lhasa. In fact, Tibet should be addressed as the Tibetan Autonomous Region. This effectively buries the lies of Hollywood and the Western Media who want to destabilize the Olympics.
The Beijing Olympics will be a success whether Hollywood and the Western Mainstream Media likes it or not. The Beijing Olympics will be a game that will be different from previous Olympics in that politics cannot harm any good will at this game. I want to reiterate my best desires for the People's Republic of China, China Radio International, and the International Olympic Committee in creating what will be the Olympic Games that will be better than the ones that occurred in the twentieth century

Scientists believe taking cholesterol-lowering statins prevent from dementia in individuals at a high risk of developing the condition.

According to a study published in the Neurology journal, taking statins for about 5-7 years, reduces the risk of dementia by 50 percent.

University of Michigan School of Public Health researchers believe statins prevent from Alzheimer's disease by influencing cerebral insulin pathways.

The study concluded that apart from the benefits of statins in protecting individuals against heart attack by lowering cholesterol levels, these drugs can be used as a preventative treatment for dementia.

Several studies have enumerated high cholesterol levels, type-2 diabetes, obesity and hypertension as the main risk factors for dementia.

The following is Press TV’s exclusive interview with Cindy Sheehan, a US congressional candida

The following is Press TV's exclusive interview with Cindy Sheehan, a US congressional candidate widely seen around the world as an anti-war movement leader.

Press TV: When you began your campaign soon after the Iraq war and of course, after your son's death, you didn't really have the support of the American people, how do you think the American people's point of view about Iraq has been changed since you launched your campaign.

Sheehan: Since my son died, of course when Casey died, an overwhelming amount of Americans still approved of the war and still approved of George Bush and the time I have been doing my activism since he died and especially since august of 2005 when I was sitting in a ditch in Crawford Texas.

The shift in American opinion has shifted dramatically to being overwhelmingly now against the occupation of Iraq and against George Bush, he has a very low approval rating.

Congress's approval rating is even lower is only 9 percent and today like you said they had the hearing on executive abuse of power without being able to say George Bush's name, without being able to accuse him of any crimes or any lies.

They had this very weak hearing and of course we believe and I believe the American people are ready for some accountability, George Bush and Dick Cheney should be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths and the pain that they have caused in the world.

Press TV: Because of course you kind of bowed out last year, saying that you were exhausted and then you were running against Nancy Pelosi after the scooter Libby case? What role are you playing in all of this now?

Sheehan: Well, I really believe that even though the hearings were imperfect and they were very weak, I believe that my campaign which is picking up momentum and excitement in San Francisco was one of the reasons that Nancy Pelosi took the small baby step forward and said that the hearings and the House Judiciary Committee may happen.

There has been so many people working for impeachment, they have been lobbing John Coniers, they have been lobbying member of the House Judiciary Committee, they have been really working with Nancy Pelosi encouraging her to do this, but in the last few weeks or so my campaign, we're getting money pouring in and we're getting signatures pouring in to get me on the ballot and I think that happened because people in America are really disappointed with the lack of leadership in Congress to really take this country in a different direction.

In the past few weeks, congress has approved $163 billion more dollars for George Bush's occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. They have given George Bush the permission to spy on Americans without getting a warrant and they have given the telecom companies immunity from breaking those FAISA laws that have been in place since 1978, and even more importantly, people like Karl Rove and Harriet Mayors and Josh Bolton are able to resist congress and not show up for petition.

I mean when they have been subpoenaed they do not show up, the congress won't hold them in contempt, they won't use their powers to have them physically brought in….

Press TV: Why would the Congress do that? There was so much hope wasn't there? because people widely saw that the Democratic victory in Congress as being an anti-war vote, and yet the congress does not seem to be doing any thing about that, they voted for the surge and as you said they are not even doing anything about people failing to turn up after being subpoenaed.

Sheehan: Well, we do have some great testimony from people who are in Congress right now; I don't blame the entire Democratic Party for the weakness of the leaders, and for the actual complicity of the leaders.

We found out last December that Nancy Pelosi was briefed on George Bush's torture methods and what our country was doing to innocent human beings; waterboarding, the stress positions, the torture prisons, Nancy Pelosi and Jay Rockefeller in the senate and both of them have come out strongly against impeachment and we believe it is because congress is complicit in many of the crimes, especially the leadership in Congress.

They're briefed on what the president is going to do, they don't make a public stand against torture, they don't make a stand against warrantless wire-tapping or holding people, detaining people without their basic human rights of due process of a fair and speedy trial and to not be tortured.

So many times I believe that the two party system and the system is so correct that people who are in high leadership positions they can't do anything to resist the system because they are a part of it.

Press TV: And if it's so systemic, you were mentioning the wiretap program and people who have been saying that the Democratic convention is sponsored by AT&T, the company and a few other of those companies. We have been covering Obama's trip to Europe. He is of course very much in favor of the war in Afghanistan. Do you really see any difference can be made given the two party system?

Sheehan: Like the grassroots level, the Democrats here in America are very progressive. They want the same things that I think are important to this country.

They want the troops to come home from Iraq and Afghanistan, they want universal single pair healthcare, they want their environment clean, they want the United States to eliminate its addiction to fossil fuels so we can have peace and so we can have a clean environment and sustainable future.

The grassroots Democrats want that, but now if they say Barack Obama is their candidate they have to demand this from him. I don't think there is any difference between killing innocent people in Iraq and killing innocent people in Afghanistan.

The people of Afghanistan and indeed the government of Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11 and they were willing to give up Osama bin Laden to an international tribunal if the Unites States gave them the proper evidence, the proper warrants and the US refused to do that.

Now, two countries are destroyed. Thousands of American families have been devastated and over a million Iraqis and Afghans have been killed and or are refugees and their country is destroyed and I think somebody needs to be held accountable for that.

Press TV: Yes in deed, there was a wedding party of course and the ISAF massacre just days ago but Obama isn't for that. Isn't there a problem about being part of a grassroots movement…well I remember this Ralph Nader, the green party candidates, of course they don't really stand a chance of power in the United States, do they?

Sheehan: Well, the way the electoral system is set up right now is very hard and the way our media is, its very hard. Like Dennis Kucinich was a very strong anti-war, pro-peace, pro-impeachment candidate and he gets shut out of the debates. Ralph Nader gets shut out of the debates, Cynthia McKinney the green party candidate is a very strong candidate for peace and accountability and she gets shut out of media coverage.

So it's hard to get people to vote for you if they don't even know that you exist and in America unless you're on CNN or on the mainstream debates the people don't hear your position and that's very unfortunate.

Press TV: And finally Cindy Sheehan, Iran…Obama was again making comments about Iran. I think he has made them in every city that he visited on this tour. We have had so many comments coming from the White House leaks, press reports, pressure in the IAEA, leaks from Vienna, do you think the US people would be able to have a stomach for war on Iran?

Sheehan: Well I think that of course the corporate media and the administration they are pushing for an invasion of Iran and I want to trust Mohamed ElBaradei from the IAEA commission who said there were no weapon of mass destruction in Iraq and he turned out to be correct and he has said that Iran is not enriching uranium for a nuclear bomb program that theirs is a peaceful program for energy, and Iran is a sovereign country, if they want to - I don't agree with nuclear power as a form of energy but if the government of Iran, if the people of Iran want that - they should be able to with the proper restraints and with the proper oversight. And the IAEA is the perfect group to do that and to make sure that Iran's nuclear program stays for energy purposes.

But then nobody talks about the fact that Israel has nuclear bombs, nobody talks about the fact that the United States has an overwhelming nuclear arsenal and we have to start talking about that, disarming all nuclear weapons, using alternative forms of energy, solar energy and wind energy and clean fuel for our power needs, and not to use nuclear power which are the very dirty and dangerous form of energy.

Former Democratic candidate Mike Gravel says President George W. Bush should be taken to The Hague for war crimes rather than being impeached.

In a Monday video conference with Press TV, the former Alaska senator said President Bush does not 'deserve' to be impeached for invading Afghanistan and Iraq, which has resulted in the loss of 'millions of lives'.

"An Impeachment just means you would only take away his (Bush's) presidency. Well, he is almost done (with) his presidency. What really needs to happen is that these people have to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed," the 78-year-old Libertarian said referring to the US president and Vice President Dick Cheney.

"If you impeach the president and vice president, Nancy Pelosi is going to become president; that is not going to happen," Gravel added.

Gravel is an outspoken advocate of impeaching Bush and Cheney over the disinformation campaign they have led in support of their go-to-war policies.

"There is a lot of very good news that makes me tremendously hopeful that we as a nation are starting to wake up and insist our congressional representatives act to make impeachment happen now," he had said in a statement in January after congressman Dennis Kucinich announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush.

While the world prepares for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 under the guise of “Forever Friends”,

While the world prepares for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 under the guise of “Forever Friends”, the Republican and Democratic Elite who ruin the United States of America under the guise of a so called “US Representative” Gus Bilirakis has decided to imitate Castro and Chavez by proposing a law called HR 1308 which would censor Press TV and IRIB. This proposal does not surprise me since the Republicans and Democrats as well as their puppets in Cuba and Venezuela are experts in censoring opposing viewpoints especially when it comes to the truth.

I have the honour of viewing Press TV as well as IRIB on the internet as well as on shortwave radio. On Press TV and IRIB, I have also seen different viewpoints while channels such MSNBC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and all other mainstream media with initials inside America repressing viewpoints that are not of the Republican and Democratic Origin.
I have not seen any proof of incitement to Anti American Violence in IRIB and Press TV. On the other hand, I have seen the Mainstream Media in America incite racial and ethnic hatred in their programmes since the Republicans and Democrats have been known as harbingers of hypocrisy and hate against anything they do not understand [including American Political Parties such as Libertarians and Greens].

The “US Representative” Bilirakis has the audacity to claim that IRIB and Press TV incites Americans to Islamic Radicalization yet many people in America have not become Muslim. In fact, many are waking up and finding Press TV and IRIB as a healthy and credible alternative to the trash that is coming out of stations such as CNN and FOX. Many people are waking up to the fact that they have been lied to, deceived, and abandoned by the Mainstream Media and the Governing Elite. If there is any radicalization, it was secondary to the indifferent attitude of the Republican and Democratic Adinistration to what happened to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma in 2005. Other reasons have been the encouragement of corruption and destruction of family values by the American Mainstream Media including the encouragement of false accusations against men and women with the intent on destroying families.

It is not enough to censor the true voices of freedom within America such as Ron Paul and Bob Barr, the Republican and Democratic Monsters that have sucked America dry wants to deprive the people of the United States of America of the freedom to listen to the media that they prefer. The right to listen to any viewpoints however disagreeable is part of the fabric of the US Constitution. The right to dissent against the Republicans and Democrats is also a part of the US Constitution. If the people of the United States of America does not have the will to do something, the world has the right [after all the USA Governing Elite intervened in Iraq] to force a regime change by peaceful means within the United States of America. It is with this reason that I support the efforts of Francis A. Boyle to represent Iran [and maybe IRIB and Press TV] if they should ever decide to initiate legal proceedings against the Republican and Democratic Clique in Washington. I express this thought as an individual who is a US Citizen by Birth and who still lives in America.

A law allowing women to wear the headscarf at university was overturned by Turkey’s constitutional

A law allowing women to wear the headscarf at university was overturned by Turkey’s constitutional court yesterday, a decision that threatens the ruling party with closure for allegedly promoting Islam.

The powerful 11-member court, the stronghold of secularists, voted 9-2 to reverse changes made this year relaxing restrictions on the wearing of the headscarf.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister – whose headscarf-wearing daughters study in the US, where no such restriction exists – had maintained that prohibiting the scarf in higher education was an infringement of women’s rights. But the court said that the changes required to allow the scarf to be worn infringed the secularist principles of the constitution.

In February Turkish MPs voted to amend the constitution to lift curbs on the headscarf in universities by 411 votes to 103. President Abdullah Gül, who helped to found the ruling AK party, approved this two weeks later. Yesterday’s decision has been heralded as a precursor to another case being heard in the same court regarding Mr Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AK). The headscarf vote in parliament is a mainstay of the case against AK, which a top prosecutor wants banned for pursuing an alleged Islamist agenda since it came to office in 2002. He also wants to exclude 71 party members, including Mr Erdogan, from politics for five years. A ruling is expected soon.

The Constitutional Court verdict issued Thursday says amendments that were passed by Parliament in February ran counter to constitutional provisions which say Turkey is a secular republic and that this principle is unalterable, a court statement said.

Secularists claim the move would undermine the secular state.

The headscarf reform plays a central role in a separate court case that seeks to shut down the AK Party for anti-secular activities, and ban 71 members, including the prime minister and the president, from belonging to a political party for five years.

Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek was reported by broadcaster CNN Turk as saying he would comment on the matter once he had read the court's ruling.

"We must see the justification for the decision," Cicek, who is also government spokesman, was reported as saying.

Lifting the headscarf ban was one of the most significant moves on religious issues in predominantly Muslim but secular Turkey since a military coup in 1980 that led to a crackdown on individual rights.

Dr Nicholas Kollerstrom, a respected astronomer and author, is the latest scientist to discover the

Dr Nicholas Kollerstrom, a respected astronomer and author, is the latest scientist to discover the limits of academic freedom in the Western world.

Until recently Dr Kollerstrom was an honorary fellow of University College London. His views as a science historian were sought by scientific journals and media organisations, such as the BBC in its
report on new research concerning the planet Neptune.

Yet on 22nd April University College abruptly terminated his fellowship, without any consultation or right of appeal. Dr Kollerstrom's offence was to have published sceptical views about scientific aspects of the Holocaust on the CODOH website, based in America. At no time had he promoted these views within University College, or done anything to bring the college into disrepute.

The London based Jewish Chronicle duly boasted about Dr Kollerstrom's dismissal on the front page of its 25th April edition.

On 7th May Dr Kollerstrom first became acquainted with Lady Renouf to seek advice on whether he could expect to travel safely to Germany where he hoped to present his paper The Walls of Auschwitz - a review of the chemical studies to the Berlin Conference on 15th-18th May.

This conference (Extermination in Gas Chambers in National Socialist Concentration and Extermination Camps) was designed to refute the revisionists' case on the alleged mass murder weapon - the gas chamber.

Lady Renouf advised in her observation that: a) it was unlikely that the organisers would include a revisionist paper in their unchallengeable conference (as opposed to the entirely open to allcomers Tehran Conference in 2006 on The Holocaust - A Global Review). And to prove the case she asked the Berlin Conference organisers whether she could be included as press, but received no response;

b) if Dr Kollerstrom were to open his scientific mouth in Germany, or in any of the ten countries where it is illegal to bring forensic science in to question the Holocaust legend "in full or in part", he would risk certain prosecution and a long term of imprisonment.

About to appear herself on a Press TV live panel discussion Lady Renouf suggested to the channel, which at last offers UK viewers a democratic choice of information sources, that they interview Dr
Kollerstrom, who had been persecuted by the mainstream media, thus to provide him with some redress for the vilification and libel he has recently suffered following his scientific article published on a U.S. website.

On 14th May the channel duly filmed an interview with the science historian Dr Kollerstrom and a second interview with Lady Renouf, who provided the background regarding the stark contrast between the open
democratic approach she had experienced at the Tehran conference, as compared to the tyrannical and closed programme of this year's government sponsored Berlin conference, where no revisionist was
invited - though the conference was supposed to be all about revisionists and their (source) criticism.

Kollestrom and Renouf at Press TV Dr Nicholas Kollerstrom and Lady Michèle Renouf on set at Press TV after recording each of their interviews. Lady Renouf is holding a copy of The Rudolf Report

The substance of Dr Kollerstrom's interview is his hope that a scientific journal will sponsor his own on site chemical analysis of the walls of Auschwitz, in the tradition of the Leuchter Report and the Rudolf Report. These authors, like Dr Kollerstrom himself, came to this work out of scientific curiosity and with no political interest.

After recording his interview Dr Kollerstrom appeared live on Press TV's Between the Headlines 14th May edition.

Despite Ms Bevan's earlier hypocritical stance in favour of scepticism (during a discussion of Le Monde's recent admission that it had misidentified photos supposedly of Hiroshima after the 1945 atomic bombing) in her subsequent unthinking mandatory denunciation of revisionism one recognises at once the archetypical parroting response of the mainstream journalist, confronted by a taboo source-critical attitude towards what Jewish historians term the "holy of holies".

According to a Press TV release on the 26th of May 2007, FIFA has announced that it is banning Iraq from International Football as a response to the decision of the US Installed Iraqi Government to abolish all of the Sports Organization in Iraq. This runs contrary to the rules of FIFA and International Football in which Sports and Politics must be separated. What the US Installed Iraqi Government has done is an injustice to those who love sports. The people who suffer the most is the Iraqi National Football Team who won the Asian Cups after defeating Saudi Arabia. If this situation does not resolve, Iraq will have to forfeit all of its games leading to the 2010 World Cup because of the myopic views of a Puppet Government in Iraq.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says capitalist systems are on the verge of collapse and can no longer bring economic development.

"There are some who believe we can improve the economic situation with the formulas that are prescribed by the West; they must know that capitalist systems are falling apart," said Ahmadinejad, who was addressing clerics in Iran's western city of Hamadan on Thursday.

"The fundamental philosophy of Iran's Islamic Revolution was that it should not be based on Western systems," he continued.

According to Ahmadinejad, the problems Iran now deals with are the direct result of disregard for the ideals of the 1979 revolution.

Ahmadinejad added that his government intends to pursue policies that will bring justice, maintaining that if there is to be development in the country, poor areas must come first.

A true leader!

US President George W. Bush has revealed the great sacrifice he has made for America

A true leader!

US President George W. Bush has revealed the great sacrifice he has made for American troops fighting in Iraq by giving up playing golf.

In an interview with Politico and Yahoo News, President Bush admitted that he has been touched by the true cost of war in Iraq.

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," he said.

"I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."
President Bush added that he made the decision several months after the invasion of Iraq when the top United Nations official in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello, was killed in the 2003's bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad.

"I remember when de Mello, who was at the UN, got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life," Bush said.

Pundits believe in the mind of the US president, who waged the war based on faulty intelligence against oil-rich Iraq, no sacrifice is too great for the troops who have sacrificed life and limb, mental health and family integrity.

Some say Bush deserves praise for the recent revelation -the decision to take a five-year hiatus from the game-, recalling a post 9/11 appearance by the president in 2001.

"We must stop the terror. I call upon on all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers," said President Bush in a golf outfit. "Now, watch this drive."

Yesterday, I saw this reported on LGF:

Iran bomb blast kills 8, injures over 50 - agency.

TEHRAN, April 12 (Reuters) - A bomb blast in a mosque in southern Iran on Saturday killed at least eight Iranians in southern Fars province and injured more than 50 people, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

This, of course, made me raise an eyebrow. Charles at LGF notes that there are few details, but that

one suspect would be the MEK: Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (Iranian rebels).

But the Iranian media wants us to rest easy.

I mean, Iran is a beautiful Islamic paradise. No one would ever feel uncomfortable, oppressed, or intimidated in the Islamic Republic, right?

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A blast in a mosque in southern Iran that killed at least 10 people on Saturday was not an attack and was probably caused by negligence, Iranian media on Sunday quoted a police official as saying.Iranian news agencies had reported that a bomb exploded in a mosque in the southern city of Shiraz, also wounding more than 160 people.

But the English-language Press TV said on Sunday the blast "may have been caused by explosives left behind from an earlier exhibition commemorating" the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

Well, that's enough info for me folks. If PRESS TV says it, you know it's true. Also, this makes perfect sense! Of course the explosives were stored in the mosque! Where else would they be kept?

Okay, enough sarcasm. I don't believe these reports at all, but that doesn't mean it's not possible that it was just an accident. I will remain skeptical, meaning, I'm suspending belief in the truth of these reports until there is more evidence.

Taking into account the election campaign in Zimbabwe, the Alvarez Galloso News Hour [El Noticiero A

Taking into account the election campaign in Zimbabwe, the Alvarez Galloso News Hour [El Noticiero Alvarez Galloso] has decided to reissue an article it wrote about the Press TV Coverage of the Zimbabwe Situation. The article was previously published on the 25th of July 2007.

Press TV Journalist Yvonne Ridley dedicated a segment in "The Agenda" to Zimbabwe and Mugabe. Among the people interviewed were A Representative for MDC [Movement for Democratic Change] from Great Britain and Ireland; Mr. Julius Sal Mutyambiza-Dewa, Stephan Chen who is Professor of the School of Oriental and African Studies, and Wilf Mbanga; Editor of The Zimbabwean.

Ms. Ridley stated in "The Agenda" that an official from the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe refused an invitation to appear in the programme to explain the position of Mugabe.

The subject was whether Mugabe was a liberator or a tyrant. The response from Dr. Chen was both. The Independent Journalist and the MDC Representative for the UK and Ireland stated that Mugabe was a tyrant.

There were comments about how Mugabe has created conditions for either a violent revolution or civil war. The three interviewees agreed that South Africa has the leverage to force change but does not want to since South African President Mbeki supports Mugabe.

The interviewees also agreed that Mugabe is using the nationalist card for his own ends and that there is a general dismay at the situation in Zimbabwe. Press TV also interviewed a group of demonstrators in the Zimbabwean Embassy in London.

Ms. Ridley added that investors are lining up into Zimbabwe, the response of Mr. Mbanga was that opportunists can make money even in unstable times. Mr. Mbanga struck a chord since we have the same situation in the American Continent in terms of opportunists and speculators.

Ms. Ridley also asked the question of what would happen if MDC was accused of "sell out". The response of Mr. Sal Mutyambuza-Dewa was the need for global trade, term limits, and transparency in a governmen with separation of powers.

Another invitation was a Human Rights Activist who talked about radio and TV with sanctions against the ruling class. In this part, there is disagreement on the part of the underwriter since there are blogs such as the ones existing in blog.co.uk, short wave radio stations like SW Africa FM.

After seeing "The Agenda" on Press TV, many conclusions have to be drawn.

Press TV and Ms. Yvonne Ridley have done their homework concerning Zimbabwe. Press TV has done a coverage of Zimbabwe at the same par as the BBC, RNW [Radio Netherlands], CBC/RCI [Canada], and CRI [China]. This type of special in depth coverage does not exist in the "Mainstream Media" of the USA except for PBS [Public Broadcasting Service]. Press TV deserves a 100% for their report.

Mugabe is nothing more than a tyrant with a desire to maintain power at any cost. Mugabe is willing to sacrifice Zimbabwe por his personal gain and could care less about the hyoerinflation, lack of basic necessities. Mugabe is creating a replica of North Korea as Ark-888 has said.

With all due respect to the people who think that soccer teams limit their success by appointing ex

With all due respect to the people who think that soccer teams limit their success by appointing ex players, appointing ex players have their pros and cons. It all boils down to the individual. For example, no team would ever appoint someone like Diego Maradona who has excess baggage in spite of his professional victories. Examples worth mentioning have been China, the Kurd Stars FC, Africa, and Iran.

China appointed Bora Multinovic as their national coach taking into account the experience he had. Multinovic may not have won the 2002 World Cup for China but he was able to help China take football [soccer] to a new level. We should also take into consideration that China has been a success in itself by surprising the Football [Soccer] World with its victories in the 2007 Asian Cup. What Multinovic did was construct the bases for a better football [soccer] in China, what China did was improve itself and became known as a Football [Soccer] Powerhouse.

The Kurd Stars FC who is the only Kurdish Team to play in an English League has Kinan Midhad Kadir as their coach and Sarkhell Nawroly as its Chairman and Player. Kinan Midhad Kadir and Sarkhell Nawroly have brought the Kurd Stars FC to higher levels in football [soccer] as well as promoting Kurdish Football [Soccer] to the Kurdistan Olympic Committee, Kurdistan Football Association, and The Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Kurdistan of Iraq. Kinan Midhad Kadir and Sarkhell Nawroly have been able to promote Kurdish Football [Soccer] through their years of experience as ex player, player, as well as manager and coach. The Kurd Stars FC has managed to advance to the leagues in England, Kurdistan, and the remote areas of the world. They even gained a supporter in Miami Florida.

African Countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, and even Rwanda have had ex players from other countries as managers and coaches secondary to their experience in the field. Africa in the end has advanced in the World Cups and is expected to make a strong impression in the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa. For example, the coach of Cameroon who was an ex player for various German Teams whose name is Winfried Schafer took Cameroon to the near top of the African League. Winfried Schafer also managed to help instill discipline, tactics, continuity, and a pro active play into Cameroon that was instrumental in converting Cameroon into an African Powerhouse in Football [Soccer]. Winfried Schafer also asked Germany's Coach Rudi Volli to respect Cameroon as a team in a show of defiance against his country and in defence of the country that accepted him. This show of defence occurred in the preparations for the 2002 World Cup.

Cameroon was such a success that Press TV reported that Iran offered Winfried Schafer but what transpired was that nothing came to fruit and Iran finally offered the job of coach and manager to a trainer for Persepolis Tehran with experience as a player in Iranian Football [Soccer] named Afshin Qotbi. Whether Iran can progress to the 2010 World Cup is another matter. I think Iran will progress since Iran has chosen experienced players and trainers in the past to coach and manage its national team. Football [Soccer] teams do not limit their success by restricting appointments of managers to ex players. Football [Soccer] teams appoint what they think is the best person who can help a team win or at least take a team to "higher levels" [using the quote by Joel Osteen].

QOTBI NEW COACH IN IRAN

The Iranian Football Federation has presented Afshin Qotbi as a new coach of the Iranian National Football Team after the last coach chosen Javier Clemente refused to live in Iran. Afshin Qotbi previously served as a trainer for Persepolis Tehran and has a lot to deal after Iran lost to Syria. Everything hinges on Qotbi and Iran to win its classification for the World Cup.

Trajan75 has been calling the raving mad, barking moonbat Keith Olbermann “Tehran Keith”

Trajan75 has been calling the raving mad, barking moonbat Keith Olbermann "Tehran Keith" for a while now in the comment section of this blog. I had always thought that Trajan was being hyperbolic, but earlier today he sent me a link to OlbermannWatch, which illustrates how the Iranian propaganda machine Press TV has fallen in love with K.O.:

Olbermann: "You are a liar Mr. Bush"

Keith Olbermann a MSNBC commentator has declared that President Bush is guilty of terrorism because of his warrentless eavesdropping program.

As the segment on OlbermannWatch notes, Tehran is putting an awful lot of weight in the comments of K.O., but it gets worse:

Press TV highlights some of the most Islamofascist-friendly comments from one of Keith's shows:

"The lot of you," he said, speaking of those who sought to pass immunity, "are the symbolic descendants of the despotic middle managers of some banana republic, to whom 'Freedom' is an ironic brand name, a word you reach for, when you want to get away with its opposite." Keith Olbermann added.

He also called Bush a fascist,

"If you believe in the seamless mutuality of government and big business - come out and say it!" he said. "There is a dictionary definition, one word that describes that toxic blend. You're a fascist - get them to print you a T-shirt with “fascist” on it! What else is this but fascism?"

I actually have the audio of that particular comment here.

Tehran Keith is certainly making his Islamic Revolutionary buddies proud.
