How to respond to false manifestations?

As I am writing this article, I am dealing with a situation where someone in our meetings manifested some “mixture” in the area of signs and wonders. They were helping God out. They had experienced the true phenomena of God in the past many times and yet gave into the temptation of the enemy to fabricate a sign. In this case, it was the planting of gemstones in a meeting that were not given by God. There was mixture. The true and the false can operate through the same person.

When the Lord revealed this to our team, of course we were devastated. The initial reaction was shock, pain, and in some of our team, anger. We had trusted and now felt deceived. We went back and forth at first with doubt that this could even be happening. We did not want to believe that someone had violated our trust. What about the people who came to the meetings trusting and believing? What about their innocence and the violation of that? How are we to handle situations like this? How are we to respond?

The Lord helped us through with the following insights:

1. Confrontation. We had to lovingly but firmly confront the offender. They denied it at first. We continued to pray for the Lord to give us the Word of the Lord on the situation and to give us more “evidence”. He did! The main goal in confrontation is to bring a brother (or sister) to repentance so they can be restored. This is part of the LOVE WAR the Body is in. Oftentimes individuals get hurt when they confront and the response is denial. This can produce more pain and more uncertainty. It is important to rest in the love of God in the midst of confrontation. Let His peace fill you. Never confront when you are angry for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. It is important not to jump to conclusions but to wait until you have the facts completely in place.

2. Admit Pain. We cannot deny our pain, anger, and disappointment, but we cannot let these things build walls around our hearts. I cried before God bringing my pain to Him and asking Him to keep me strong so that I could help heal the offender and the Body.

3. Rightly Discern between the True and False. We did not want to throw out the true due to seeing a manifestation of the false. We have seen the true many times over. We have had credible ministries like Joshua and Janet Mills and many others labor with us in the area of supernatural manifestations. They have been real valid experiences flowing through pure hearts. The minister who manifested the lying signs had also manifested the true. We must keep our faith strong in times like these and discern objectively.

4. Don’t over-react. It is easy at this point to want to shut down everything – especially your heart. Jesus taught us in the parable of the wheat and the tares not to react in fear or in haste. He assured us that HE will take care of it and will send angels to remove all stumbling blocks out of His Kingdom. In the meantime, we must not lose faith or trust in Him.

5. Wisdom. Wisdom from above is: pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. (James 3:17) If we ask for wisdom, God will give it. (James 1:5). Wisdom is very important. It is vital that we only proceed as the Father directs. We need to know what steps to take, what to share and what not to share, how to approach the situation, and how to respond. The Lord will instruct us if we WAIT on Him. God showed us how we could walk in love for this individual, to help them get restored and also to help the Body process. He gave us wisdom on how to uphold righteousness in the midst of an unrighteous act. He is so good and His wisdom is perfect.

6. Exposure. We are going to see exposure of the false in 2008. Jesus warns us that the things done in secret will be shouted from the roof-tops. Great wisdom is needed in how things are exposed, but there will be increased exposure coming. We must not cover things up even though we want to cover each other during a time of healing and restoration. We cover in love but we expose in truth with sensitivity. We need to walk in the integrity of the truth. We must not compromise.
7. Keep faith. The enemy desires to produce doubt in our hearts. If he can do this, he has won his battle. When the Lord exposes the false in 2008, many will fall away due to disillusionment. Beware of this. Do not close the door of your heart. Remember, the exposure of tares is inevitable. Jesus told us that wheat and tares would grow up together in the same field. Learn to rightly divide but keep your faith strong. Do not shrink back.

8. Press on. I always like to make the devil sorry he ever tried! Press on for more of God. We are pressing on for more of all that He desires to reveal. If it is of Him, we want it! Allow your love for Jesus and His Kingdom rise up in you like never before. 2008 is going to be amazing!

The heart of God is always, always, ALWAYS redemptive toward us. Even when we blow it, when we sin. Because that is the heart of God toward us, that needs to be our heart toward one another.

Patricia was violated by this minister. His violation not only destroyed her trust in him, but it could have had serious consequences for her ministry and damaged her credibility with her partners. Yet her main concern was how to help heal not only the damage done to the Body of Christ, but to heal the offender as well. She and her team made a conscious decision to walk in love toward this individual and help them.

1 Corinthians 13 shows us the heart of God, because God is love:

1 If I speak in human or angelic tongues, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 but do not have love, I gain nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body [to hardship] that I may boast,

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I have been appalled at the tone of many of the things I have seen written on the Internet concerning Todd Bentley. I am not concerned about people's disagreement with his theology or teachings. There are many people in the Body of Christ that I disagree with, but I am not out on a campaign to destroy them. They belong to God and it is up to Him to discipline His children, not me. I may spat with people on this or other forums, but when it comes down to it, they are fellow believers and there is a line that if I cross, I will have to answer to my Father for how I am treating His children.

Here is a piece that I came across today that blew my mind. This was a copy of an email a blogger sent to Destiny Image Publishing.

“How can you claim to be a publisher of ‘foundationally spirit-filled’, ‘biblically sound’, and ’spiritually inspirational’ books, when you published Todd Bentley’s book ‘The Reality of the Supernatural World’, which as well as containing numerous scriptural contradictions and deceptions, also contains deliberate intentional lies and false testimony?

Notably I draw you attention to the sex changes of Todd’s alleged encounter with the angel Emma from female to an unnamed male angel on page 230 of the book. (See more details here). This is appalling and indefensible and means that you knowingly publish a liar’s books - why, is the money in it too tempting for you? Or do you not care about scriptural truth, general honesty and integrity any more?"

Now, I don't know about you, but I would beat my kid if I found out she had sent such a rude piece of correspondence out, just on a natural level. It seems that if you are the doctrine police, the rules of polite conduct no longer apply to you.

This person did not even attempt to confront Todd Bentley. They took it first to the publisher and then posted the email on the internet for the world to see, without having ever once sought Todd and tried to reason with him about the issues raised here. Contrast that with what Patricia did. Contrast that with 1 Corinthians 13.

If you think Todd Bentley's a heretic, fine. You have that right. If you believe you are attempting to defend the flock of God, you even have a noble motive. But scripture is clear about how these things are to be done. Confronting Todd is the first step. If that gets you nowhere, he has publicly submitted to a group of elders in the Body. Take your concerns to his leadership. That is the godly thing to do.

But whatever your actions, you have to love the guy. You have to pray for him. You cannot dishonor him. Scripture says so. And those of you who continue to attack with the desire for the destruction of this man, you are going to find yourself with God opposing you. Scripture says so.

My answer is we loved developing it and owning it and we love the act of selling it, this is our business. The second part of my answer actually is not palatable to people, "We make effort to sell to a buyer who would do justice to the site". Most of the people find the answer a guilt cover, which it is not as selling is a pleasure and not a guilt. A VISION FROM GOD

My wife and I and my youngest son were in St Louis for a weekend break a couple of years ago. We were driving from the hotel to listen to the St Louis Symphony on a Saturday night and the Holy Spirit came upon me. As usual this would not be a time of my choosing yet I know from experience that the Holy Spirit is not a respector of time.I kept on driving and I knew my wife was talking but I was caught up in the Spirit. Tears were falling from my face and the car was pretty dark so my wife did not notice. The Holy Spirit continued to move in my Spirit for the next couple of hours, all through the performance, and came in waves, one “scene,” unfolding after another. The grandness of the orchestra seem to only heighten my experience. I am sure people around me may have thought that I was deeply moved by the music, and the truth is I was somewhere else altogether.

The beginning of the vision was a loud booming voice calling all Christians to awake , “Awake you sleepy Christians.” “Who will ascend Gods Holy Hill? Those with a pure heart and clean hands." This was scene 1, a call to arms. Then the second scene unfolded. I saw thousands of baby turtles heading from the dunes towards the sea. They had a wide beach ahead of them. Before most of them could cross the beach and reach the water they were attacked by birds of every kind. The power of the air had come to attack them, seagulls by the hundreds making a horrendous shrieking noise as they feasted on their helpless prey. Birds of every kind joined the attack, swooping down and pecking and carrying the baby turtles off. Then from the dunes from where they came, came raccoons and critters of every kind to join in the frenzy and drag these hapless baby turtles away. Just when I thought the slaughter could not get worse, out from under the sand came crabs, crabs with large pincers which tore into the turtles and they dragged them into holes in the sand to be devoured. As all of this was going on, I could see Scripture framing this whole scene. “Many are called but few are chosen,” “Broad is the road that leads to destruction, narrow is the path that leads to life.”

Suddenly the scene changes, I am on a beach, but it is the scene from Saving private Ryan. Death was all around me. Young men being killed right where I stood and the severely wounded all around, desperately seeking for a place to hide, for some kind of barrier to protect them from the onslaught. There were kids with there innards hanging out and they were trying to stop them from spilling onto the beach, while screaming for their mothers. Men with their limbs blown of, the one man walking around in shock with his right hand carrying his left arm which had been blown off.

Suddenly the scene changes again. There is a Rock with a sword embedded into it. This sits right in the middle of a large arena. This is also the scene from Braveheart. On strolls a man that is dressed like William Wallace in the scene from the movie where he addresses his vastly outnumbered army who are thinking about fleeing from the battle. The man, who is actually Jesus dressed in full Scottish battledress, reaches forward , and with both hands, pulls the Claymore from the Rock and turns to address the crowd in the arena.

“ I am Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I am maker of heaven and earth and I am the Holy Son of the Living God. I hold in my hand the two edged sword. And with this sword I will surely destroy all the enemies, this vast army of evil that you see here before you. This army that has dared to challenge the living God, this army that has exposed itself on the battlefield will be completely destroyed this very day. I see another army here before me, the army of the Living God. You have gathered here today in defiance of darkness and tyranny. You have come here to fight as free men and free men you are, for it is I that gave you that very freedom. So you see with your eyes that you are few and they are many, you see that you are vastly outnumbered. Will you fight today?

“No, we will run and we will live,” shouts a man from the crowd. “Yes, if you run now you will live a while. If you stay and fight you may die, but I have called you here this day to die in a battle that will be celebrated for all eternity. Yet for those who run and “live,” what kind of life will you live? When you are dying in your beds, many years from now, how many of you will cry out with regret, having lived a life of compromise and shame and know in your heart that you would be willing to trade forty years of compromise for one day of glory in this great battlefield of the flesh. This light against darkness. To be able to say to your enemies “eye, you may kill me this day and I may have to lose everything this very day but one thing you will never take, you will never take my spirit!!!!

Now the scene changes again. I am in the stadium or arena . Men of God form a semicircle in front of the crowd of young people. Behind the men are a sea of flags. The flags are blowing in the wind. The flags represent the enemies that the Holy Spirit had just showed me. The enemies that attacked the turtles each had names and the names were written on the flags. Some of the names were Rebellion, lust, sex, drugs, beer, abuse, suicide, bitterness, hatred, greed, materialism, incest, rape, murder and many many more.

The call is made to the crowd, its the call that Jesus has just made, “Will you come forward and die to these thing this day?” They respond to the call to arms and begin to move forward in obedience to the call. They run towards the enemy, they kneel and pray with the men of God and then move past them and with pure hearts and clean hands they make their way towards the flag that represents what they have just laid down, they pull up the flag and they break it over their knees and throw it to the ground. Freedom rings out into the night sky, the rejoicing rises up into heaven itself and all of heaven rejoices to see Satan’s kingdom torn down and Gods young people taking back that which is theirs, that which is Gods, their very heart. And Satan trembles at the rise of this army…………..Amen

Subject: Personal Report of Lakeland Outpouring

As all of you know, what I believe to be God-orchestrated circumstances over the past three weeks or so have brought me mainstream into the Lakeland Outpouring and the controversies surrounding it.

I am writing this from Lakeland. The night before last Doris and I attended the meeting in the tent along with 10,000 others, the largest crowd yet since meeting in the tent. It was the 82nd day of the Outpouring. Todd Bentley used his speaking time in giving the most detailed testimony so far of the “dark night of the soul” that he experienced for 18 months 2005-2007. It was a very remarkable and transparent confession of his pride during the ten years previously and details of the wilderness that God took him through to break the pride. He was very clear about his lack of discipline, his emotions out of control, his rejection of God, his dislike of reading scripture, public meltdown on the platform, memories of childhood rejection, loneliness, sexual abuse, his marriage on the brink of divorce, etc. He was so burnt out he cried 4 hours per day for 21 days straight.

When it was over, God restored everything related to his staff, his marriage, his ministry, and his newly-refined personal character. This was a very remarkable and touching presentation. There was no hint of victimization or wanting a pity party. It was a confession of his own sin and the consequences he paid for disobedience. Doris and I were very touched by this, and we were thankful to God for a window on Todd’s character that we didn’t expect to be so wide open to us

Let me remind you that Doris and I have been very close to other similar outpourings, especially the John Wimber signs & wonders phenomenon of the late 70s and 80s and well as the Argentine Revival of the 80s and 90s. We believe we have paid our dues in terms of the ability to discern truth from error and also in receiving severe and often painful criticism for some of the judgments we made in supporting those two movements. As we observed and participated in the meeting in the tent, we became very nostalgic about Wimber and Argentina, even noting some physical resemblance between Todd and Wimber. His accuracy in words of knowledge reminded us of both John Wimber in the past and Robert Henderson in the present. The worship time was similar to the worship we experience in Freedom Church in Colorado Springs except on a larger and more exuberant scale. We saw or felt nothing that would cross the lines we have previously experienced in high-profile revival. We have learned that God-driven revival is often messy, tending to pull some out of their religious comfort zones, but at the same time opening gates for new seasons of the movement of God.

All this was in preparation for last night, June 23, when we held a ceremony of apostolic alignment for Todd Bentley. As you will see from the document I will attach, the gist was that Todd would be aligned with Ché Ahn, Bill Johnson and John Arnott, representing Revival Alliance, who would then commission him as the evangelist to lead the Lakeland Outpouring. A few of us met with Todd personally before the service, and we found him to be a wonderful individual. Doris and I had never met him before. I explained to him what the ceremony would be like, and he agreed. I thought that it was interesting when he wanted to change one thing I had written in this document, because I could then run a quiet test of his humility and his respect for authority. Keep in mind that this was Todd’s ministry and Todd’s meeting. However, he had delegated the leadership of the ceremony to me. I suggested that his change was not wise, and he immediately accepted my decision. We were on the same page! In fact, we like each other!

The scenario was that I took the podium and called around me Todd, Ché, Bill and John. I then called to the platform a number of apostles whom I had chosen to stand behind us: Stephen Strader of Lakeland FL, Karl Strader of Lakeland FL, Jeff Beacham of Sydney, Australia, Rick Joyner of Ft. Mill SC, Doris Wagner of Colorado Springs CO, Sharon Stone of Burton, England, Paco Garcia of Chiclana, Spain, Clarice Fluitt of Monroe LA, Richard Maiden of Scottsdale AZ, Michael Maiden of Phoenix AZ, Joshua Fowler of Orlando FL, Barry Boucher of Ottawa, Canada, and Wesley Campbell of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Unfortunately Bishop Bill Hamon had to cancel because of a travel problem. I then read the paper I am attaching and, despite several requests, I even desisted from telling a joke! When I finished, I handed the microphone to Ché and he was in charge.

Ché, Bill and John laid on hands and anointed Todd with a special new “Be Revived” oil that Chuck Pierce (who was in Africa) sent for the event. Todd went down under the power of the Spirit and the three prophesied over him, commissioning him as the evangelist to lead the Lakeland Outpouring. Then most of the backup apostles prayed and prophesied as well. The power of the Holy Spirit was so heavy on that event that you could almost have cut it with a knife!

It was quite evident to those present that this was a groundbreaking event. A serious public problem had been growing in the body of Christ revolving around concerns about Lakeland from respected leaders. Even “schism” had been mentioned frequently. Because of the extensive media coverage through GOD TV, it was much more than a private or a trivial matter. Something was called for to set things in order, and this is the stated role of apostles. We are now in a place in what I see as the Second Apostolic Age that apostles can agree publicly to bring alignment. The seventeen apostles involved in this event represented three distinct apostolic streams: ICA (10 were ICA members), Revival Alliance, and Morningstar. Even though we are not networked formally, we believe in and support each other and we stand together when a crisis such as this one comes along. I may be wrong, but I cannot recall an event of this nature in the recent history of the church.

There was a notable prophetic dimension accompanying the event. Around a month ago, Bob Jones prophesied that on June 22 the outpouring would increase so much that it would appear that the revival would really begin at that time. Of course no one knew that June 23, the day after June 22, would be the date of Todd’s apostolic alignment which could well be the event to release increased spiritual power. Parenthetically both June 22 and June 23 broke previous attendance records in the 10,000-seat tent.

There is a great deal more to say, but I will leave it as it is for the moment. My paper, “Lakeland Outpouring Apostolic Alignment,” which I am sending you will fill in many details. Although I am writing this primarily to you who are mentioned above, I will also send it to some others to whom I feel responsible for a report of Todd’s alignment and commissioning.

Among other things, he used Chuck Pierce’s “Be Revived” anointing oil to personally anoint the 1,000 or so pastors as “carriers of fire” to their churches. Forty-seven nations were represented in the meeting. He admonished them to receive it here in Lakeland and then give it away!

in Africa Regarding Revival!

Dear Friends,

We have had several people write with great concerns about the current move of God that has been stirring in Lakeland, Atlanta, Dallas and other areas of our nation. Let me share some things with you. I actually believe this letter would be worth reading as you continue praying for us in Africa.

We have made our way into Northern Nigeria. Continue to pray for us. Life here is what you may have imagined in Africa: tin roofs, raining, hazy mountains in the distance and bugs buzzing. When we got five miles from the Compound in the rural area of Kafanchan at the Throne Room Trust Ministry, International Prayer Village, you could feel the tangible Presence of His Spirit. I love being here, even though the surroundings are not what I am normally accustomed to; the food is different, and well, yes, there are many different creatures. The main issue is this: in the midst of this environment, I am not afraid of being infected by malaria or getting dysentery because I am in a different land. The people here are some of the most gracious in all the world.

I see that some individuals view “moves of God” this way: they see all the dangers, they are afraid that they will have a demon transferred to them, they analyze every move and shake and scrutinize doctrinally everything that is happening. This may be the only way that some can process their relationship with the Lord and the Body of Christ. I know that many would not like to be here in northern Nigeria in this rural area, nor would they like to be wearing the kingly, African traditional clothing that I am wearing this evening. Some of us are more adventurous than others. Some need to fully test the water before they swim. Personally, I have found that there is great joy in watching God’s people express themselves, work through their issues, learn to discern both good and evil and continually mature in Him.

I was just in Zambia. We saw a great reconciliation of the nation and people with the ex-President. This man had a great reproach from his terms in office. However, God in His grace chose to bring him forth, humble him and forgive him, and use him to change a nation. From a political standpoint, many would have wished he would have stayed estranged from the Body. However, I chose to go with the Spirit of God above political party divisions and reconcile him back into God’s Kingdom plan.

We at Glory of Zion International have chosen to number ourselves in intercession with what is happening in Lakeland and other places throughout the world. Some have written asking me to reject Todd Bentley. GZI does not have a philosophy or mindset to reject anyone. We watch, pray, and then try to communicate what the Lord is saying to help the overall Body of Christ advance.

I have seen others get offended because key leaders commissioned Todd as a modern day evangelist. We at GZI have no problems with this. Please know that we are living in an age where the Apostolic gift in the Body has come into a new position and era of authority. I was very excited to read Peter Wagner’s report (you may go to our web site to read this) on the commissioning service in Lakeland. I admire Ché Ahn, Bill Johnson, and John Arnott. I can now rest in Him, knowing that if things get way out of sync, they can help Todd make adjustments so the Spirit can keep moving.

We will continue to pray that the Lord raise Evangelists all over the world who can reach the harvest fields today. Yes, they may look different than Billy Graham, and they may have experienced some unusual happenings that perhaps will be better communicated as they grow in the Lord. But overall they are stirring the Body of Christ, leading people to the Lord, and doing the works of Jesus.

Let me share with you a personal experience. When Pam and I were in the Baptist Church in the early ’80’s, we were in a “move of God.” The Fullness Movement had touched the Baptist Church in the late ’70s, led by Jim Hylton, Ras Robinson, Jack Taylor and others. We had had some incredible meetings at our church. Many had gotten saved, gotten right with the Lord and filled with the Spirit of God. I loved this time. Pam and I both reminisce over it and call it “the Glory Days”. Then James Robison had his annual meeting and invited John Wimber to minister. Many of you remember our story of Pam’s barrenness. You can read about it in two or three of the books that we have written. We were told by all of our leadership how this “move” had gotten way out of hand, and now that John Wimber (who had no Baptist roots), was invading James Robison’s meeting, we should all stay away from these gatherings. (You should know that John Wimber and Peter Wagner helped revive signs and wonders in the ’80s.) Well, I heard God very clearly tell Pam and me to go in January, 1984 to the James Robison meeting where John Wimber was speaking. While we were there, the Spirit of God fell on my wife and sovereignly filled her. His power knocked the clots out of her uterus and He dramatically healed her. When the Spirit of God fell on Pam she said, “You were right! There are demons everywhere, but I AM HEALED!”

This was not about John Wimber. This was not about Baptists. This was not about controversy. This test was ours! The situation was about us following God without fear so He could reward us with an incredible blessing. Pam became pregnant two weeks later and continued to be pregnant for the next 10 years of our life. We had six wonderful children. I’m so thankful I listened to the Spirit of God and did not let religious fear rule us. There were others with us that were not touched at all by the meetings. As a matter of fact, they did not appreciate at all the way John Wimber ministered. However, in the midst of his ministry, the Spirit of God ministered to us and changed the course of our lives.

I am honored that God brought me into alignment with Peter and Doris Wagner after I embraced the move of God that had been stirred by he and John Wimber. We have now been together for 17 years. During that time, I have continued to get the best God has to offer from the revivals in Argentina, Toronto, the “Laughter Movement”, Brownsville, and any other fresh breath of wind that blows. I have many friends who have great cautions over experiential manifestations and extra-Biblical sensational happenings. I heed those friends’ voices and listen carefully. This does not keep me from experiencing what God is doing. I love what Bishop Bill Hamon says, “Eat the meat and spit out the bones and you will find yourself nourished.”

Recently, I have been pondering the first several verses of Genesis. In the midst of a wreck and ruined, chaotic, without-form earth, the Spirit of God began to hover. Once the Spirit began to hover, God could speak into the earth realm and pull forth creativity. He did this for six straight days. But notice God’s order: He didn’t try and set in order the sixth day before the first day. He didn’t try to place the fourth day before the second day. Little by little, as the Spirit hovered, order came and man was offered a new position as a result. That is how I view every move of God.

What I would encourage you to do is to keep discerning by the Word and the Spirit, but to be open to see the Lord move in a new way. The disciples could not understand why the Lord would go to Samaria and visit with the woman at the well. However, because of His love and boldness to break a religious standard, a whole city was saved (John 4). The Lord is preparing to save entire cities today.

Thank God that Jesus talked to this woman - a person with a past, a Samaritan, and a woman. He was not afraid of His reputation being marred. Recently, a letter from one of the major Bible churches in Denton went out to leaders in our city on the doctrine of women and how they should have a subservient role in the Body of Christ in public ministry. Prior to this letter going out, I had invited Cindy Jacobs to minister at Glory of Zion on Sunday, July 6. I want you to know that I have been a champion for women ministers throughout the years. I am so very excited to have Cindy with us on July 6th because women are welcome to minister in Denton, Texas. I would never shut the door of ministry for her to come into this city because of man’s opinion.

Neither would I, Robert Heidler or any leader that is aligned with me, shut the door to Keith Miller or Todd Bentley to come to Denton to minister what the Spirit of God is doing in their lives. We consider it a privilege that God has opened the gate for Spirit-led ministry to come into Denton. We are glad that He “needs” to come to Denton just like He “needed” to go to Samaria. You are always welcome to come to Denton. As a matter of fact, you might “need” to come here to gain your next release from the Lord. You can go to Keith Miller’s meeting. You can come to our Firstfruits Gathering. You can come be with Cindy Jacobs on Sunday, July 6. You can come to Tuesday Morning Prayer. You are invited to come any time and you will not be rejected as you come into this city.

You can read what John Arnott of Toronto said here about angels going around all the past revival locations with new backpacks of anointing here.  Prophets Bobby Connor and Bob Jones, like the shamans they are, claim that the Lakeland blessing/revival to America must go through the Native American 'Gatekeepers' first here.

Todd Bentley says of open heavens here, in a great distortion of scripture (for heaven opened in the sense scripture means it, when the veil to the Holy of Holies was rent in two after Christ's death on the cross):

"Open heavens occur over certain geographical areas that are marked by God. For example Jacob experienced an open heaven at a place which he named Bethel (located near a village called Luz, Israel) where he had an amazing dream about a ladder that stretched from earth to heaven with angels ascending and descending on it. When he awoke he “was afraid and said, ‘What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God – the gateway to heaven!’”

Some places, because of their spiritual history, are noted to be locations where people will often experience an open heaven. In fact, there are places where the heavens are open more than in other places. Most of you are familiar with previous moves of God in places such as Toronto (The Toronto Blessing), the meetings in Pensacola, and Argentina, just to name a few. Just like in Jacob’s day, today, there are certain places where heaven is open, geographical locations where you are more likely to have an encounter with God.

In certain places I’ve been blessed with an open heaven, where, in prayer, God gives me His perspective and His heart. Then I have an encounter, an impartation, a heavenly download that I receive out of being in His presence. I begin to see things. I begin to hear things, and I carry that out of the prayer closet, out of that place of having ascended into the heavens in prayer  — bring that revelation into the here and now — and the manifestation of that revelation then begins to take place.  The bottom line is that God is glorified.

In fact, at the time of the release of this teaching, there is a kingdom invasion happening in a certain place—Lakeland, Florida—dubbed The Florida Outpouring! To God’s glory, what is so amazing is that an open heaven, one open heaven, over one city, literally touches ends of the earth! Just praise Him!!" (Todd Bentley)

Encounters with God

"Encounters with God" in specific locations or specific periods of time hint at a sporadic and intermittant relationship with a distant God more befitting the Old Covenant (though still not agreeing with it) - it certainly  does not reflect the New Covenant ongoing relationship with a continually indwelling God who never leaves us or forsakes us, wherever we may be. Todd's saying is the sort of thing someone who does not really know God or the gospel would say.

I have noted many times where Todd talks about Jesus Christ or the angel of the Lord "coming to him" - sometimes in physical one-on-one visitations - yet apart from the unscriptural, dubious and often contradictory nature of Todd's visions, the Bible says that Jesus and the Father is already there   dwelling within us by His Spirit if we are truly born again (John 14:23). God does not need to "come" to us in this sense each time, He is here by His Spirit continually already.

The claim that there are places where you are 'more likely' to have an encounter with God is not a Christian idea, and is more akin to Babylonic Roman Catholicism (which Todd is associated with and has never renounced). For scripture tells us that not only does God make His home in us always, and He will never leave us or forsake us, and that 'in Him we live and move and have our being' but that God's ears are 'ever attentive to our prayer' and that 'with faith we can confidently approach the throne of grace boldly' and the veil is ripped in two, so we can forever now have access to the Father. It also says we can all with unveiled faces reflect the gloy of God within each one of us.

God does not fragment or compartmentalise Himself into little boxes. If we have Him, we have Him and Have all  of Him, all His character and all His resources and all His promises in Christ. How can we then have 'more' of Him or more of His glory in this sense, when he and his glory is already within our 'jars of clay', let alone when in a certain 'anointed' city - even Jerusalem? More submitted to Him, yes. More obedient to Him, and more like Him in character, yes certainly, as with knowing Him more - all through the process of sanctification and an act of our will regardless of locale, but obtaining more of Him and getting better access to Him through a certain man, ministry or a geographical area? No, impossible and Christ denying, as Christ has already given all  of Himself, the new and living way is already opened, and we are seated with Christ in all His fullness already.

Even under the less glorious Old Covenant, King David knew God was present everywhere and knew all things and was with him always. Compare what David says in the beautiful Psalm 139 to the current talk of portals and hubs. it is incomparable and ludicrous! Todd's is another God to David's that is somehow more reached through these portals than in and through Christ Jesus!

"You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Where shall I go from your Spirit?  Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!  If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you."

Furthermore, 'an encounter with the Father' is NOT just about spiritual experiences, feelings, manifestations and prophecies. That is a shallow and ignorant faith indeed, and a shallow and ignorant teacher that teaches it! Alas, how many in these times have a crisis of faith when they do not 'feel' or 'experience' God with them anymore.  Scripture says we walk by faith and not by sight, and  "sight" in this context can also include feelings, manifestations and spiritual experiences.  Sadly today people's experiences and emotions have become their God as they are led by them over faith. In hard times they often lose it because they have never known or clung hold of the real God as they do not have real faith - which comes through hearing and knowledge of the word.

I am not saying we should not have experiences with God. I am not saying that the reality of our prayer life and relationship does not spill into the present with visible signs and wonders. BUT if that is all there is to our so-called "relationship with God" - feelings, emotions, experiences, signs and wonders - there is a problem. A major problem. An apostate problem. A life and death problem - away from me, I never knew you!

Ascending into the Heavens

Furthermore, note the arrogance and the scripture twisting in Todd's phrase; out of that place of having ascended into the heavens in prayer  — [i] bring that revelation into the here and now.   Todd is claiming HE brings answers to prayers into fruition through his actions of ascending into heaven and then bringing it into the present. He claims to bring the manifestation and glory of God through his own works. What an arrogant Christ-denying man! Even Abraham, a far more godly man than Todd, could not bring the trustworthy revelation of God into the here and now. He tried through his own actions and wrongly birthed Ishmael - an action which the world is still suffering from. Man's actions in this sense leads to spiritual death.

Note here too Todd's other arrogant boasts of ascending on high that mimic Satan's almost word for word such as in this article Lofty Supreme Ruler -

“You see, I want to be fruitful; I want to be far above. I want to be a conqueror; I want to be a mountain of strength; I want to be greatness. You know, we like that word greatness. Well, he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High automatically comes into everything that the Almighty is. It happens.” (Todd Bentley)

Compare this and out of that place of having ascended into the heavens in prayer   to Satan's speech:

“I will ascend to heaven. I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly in the sides of the north. I will ascend the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14: 13-14)

On 23rd June, I heard Todd Bentley blasphemously applying the messianic promises of Psalm 2 to himself. He claimed to be that King that could climb and sit on that Holy Hill (although generously allowed the Wagner's apostles commissioning him to sit on that Holy Hill with Him, and others that would accept this kingly anointing).  He claimed the nations for himself as his inheritance.   The nations are Christ's,  nobody else's. The Lord rebuke Todd and the new apostles for their blasphemy and arrogance! The kingly anointing imparted at Lakeland was an antichrist anointing, as Jesus is the anointed one who inherits the promises of Psalm 2, nobody else - He is that king on that Holy Hill. Todd is claiming to be another anointed King who dares to take Jesus' throne and therefore removes Jesus off his throne. How dare he!

Rob De Luca's prophecy of Jesus getting off his throne here is far more chilling in this context. In this false prophecy, Jesus knelt and put a ring on the "bride" - and the apostles commissioned Todd and gave him a ring on that night that Todd preached on Psalm 2 and claimed it for himself and the apostles. There is far more to their action than meets the eye - it was not just about having some kind of fraternity ring!

Portals, Hubs, and Jacob's Ladders

"Jacob experienced an open heaven at a place which he named Bethel .... ‘What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God – the gateway to heaven!’” (Todd Bentley)

The place Bethel means the 'house of God', and the New Testament shows that the house of God is now the body of believers and not in a temple built by human hands, or indeed a specific geographical area.

We heard him say, 'I'll tear down this temple made by humans, and in three days I'll build another temple, one not made by human hands   (Mark 14:58]

For we are the temple of the living God!   (2 Corinthians 6:16b)

“In whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit”   (Eph. 2:21-22). 

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple”  (1 Cor. 3:16-17). 

 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body”  (1 Cor. 6:19-20)

“I will ...  set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”   (Ezekiel 37: 27)

As Jacob says 'Bethel is the gate of heaven' so Jesus says  'I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be safe, and will come in and go out and find pasture.'  (John 10:9) and I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me   (John 14:6)  Jesus is the gate and way to heaven.

Scripture demonstrates that Christ is the true Jacob's ladder and the one who opens heaven.

Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man'   (John 1:51)

Adam Clarke comments on this scripture -

"That by the angels of God ascending and descending, is to be understood, that a perpetual intercourse should now be opened between heaven and earth, through the medium of Christ, who was God manifested in the flesh. Our blessed Lord is represented in his mediatorial capacity as the ambassador of God to men; and the angels ascending and descending upon the Son of Man, is a metaphor taken from the custom of despatching couriers or messengers from the prince to his ambassador in a foreign court, and from the ambassador back to the prince."

Todd Bentley has taught on "hubs" at Lakeland (eg on May 30th). He said God was restoring 'hubs' by restoring the apostolic. Todd called Capernaum an example of a HUB, because of the great miracles that Jesus did there, and how Jesus couldn’t perform miracles in His own town, because it WASN’T A HUB! This of course is not even remotely true. Scripture specificaly says it was because the people in Jesus home town lacked faith.

Scripture makes it abundantly clear that all who deny these essential truths as to Jesus being the ONLY gate and the ONLY true ladder are antichrist. Stating that a gateway or portal is found anywhere other than in Christ Jesus (as Todd Bentley et al do) is then not just foolish and wrong and biblically illiterate. To claim that a geographical place is a portal to heaven, or is under an open heaven in this sense, is antichrist.  It is an antichrist Jacob's ladder or an antichrist gateway as it replaces or supercedes Christ, the true gate and door (or portal) that men enter by.

"But Todd preaches Jesus!"  some will say. Do not mistakenly think an antichrist has to deny the existense of Jesus to be antichrist! Do not think an antichrist is afraid to use Jesus name for his own end and to preach on Him! Many cults use Jesus name, but their Jesus, though sharing the same name, is different to the real Jesus in character or destiny - hence he is "another Jesus". All an antichrist has to do is take away from what Christ has done and achieved, effectively create another Jesus and another gospel, and create new gates and portals of his own  to 'heaven' and thus lead the flock astray from the true Christ and the true gospel. And this can be apparently done in Jesus name as Todd Bentley and the new prophetic movement aptly demonstrate.

Jacob the High Priest and Man-Built Towers Reaching to Heaven

In a vision I had last year, I saw the antichrist 'priest' who sat 'in the temple' (that is sat extolled among the people of God as they are the true temple of God - he does not need to sit in a literal third temple in Jerusalem) taking blasphemous names upon himself. This 'High Priest' had a symbolic blue sapphire stone over his third eye area on a linen strip of cloth wound around his forehead, and his name was figuratively called "Jacob".

A couple of months ago, I had a dream of this same Jacob being birthed through Todd Bentley's "revival", and in another vision, God called what was happening through Todd at Lakeland 'Babel', and I saw the tower of Babel (that is Babylon) being built up high heavenwards with the work of human  hands.

I understand now that this antichrist "Jacob" is a symbol of an antichrist Jacob's ladder, in that the man (and his group) and his and their words, actions, anointing and impartations and/or his and their geographical places, was in some way claiming to be a ladder to heaven for blessing to come up and down on. This is in place of Jesus Christ - although they use Jesus' name and mention the cross, it is another Jesus, another cross and another gospel they really point to, as they subtract away from its real victory and message as well as lead to another gate. In the same way, a figurative man-made Tower of Babel made through man made religious works seeks to rise up to heaven's heights and bring up and down blessing and revelation - bypassing and replacing Jesus Christ, the ONLY living way.

It is noteable that the colour blue I saw on "Jacob" the priest's forehead is symbolic of the new prophets - for instance they claim the coming religious civil war will be between the blues (them) and the greys (those that adhere to scripture over the new revelation). I also note the blue stone was placed over the third eye area which is the occult chakra gateway for revelation and enlightenment. It is also clear the connections that the new prophetic-apostolic movement have with Babylon, with their pushing for unity, regardless of truth, and their leading to converge with Rome. I also find it interesting that Orosius, the historian, said that the tower of Babel had 25 gates each side. C Peter Wagner has 25 inner apostles in one group as his 'gates'.

The name Jacob also means 'deciever'.

Other Leading "Christians" Statements re Open Heavens and Portals

Randy Clark (a key player in imparting the Toronto Blessing) says of open heavens and portals:

“I believe Tommy Tenny is right in stating that wherever there has been a visitation in the past that the heavens are thin there and it is easier to receive another visitation.  It is easier to punch through, so to speak, through prayer where the heavens are thin.”

John Paul Jackson, a Kansas City prophet, says of portals:

"A heavenly portal is a spherical opening of light that offers divine protection by which angels and heavenly beings can come and go, without demonic interference. God has designed portals to begin in the third Heaven, travel through the second Heaven, and open upon Earth."

Patricia King (Todd's spiritual mother) says on 'Opening “PORTALS OF GLORY” here  -

"A “portal” is an opening (door, window, or opening). A heavenly portal or a glory portal is a heavenly opening through which God’s goodness manifests. I have seen a portal in a vision and it was a circular opening where a column of light poured down into the earth. There were angels ascending and descending."

Note how the angels ascending and descending refers directly to Jesus claim in John 1:51 to be the ONLY Jacob's Ladder and 'portal' to heaven, and so any other portal to advance up and down on "heavenwards" is biblically antichrist. Patricia King prophesies by the spirit of the antichrist, though she does it "in Jesus' name"!

Patricia King then goes on to say that:

 "Portals can be opened over:

Your personal life. When you have a portal of glory opened over your life, everywhere you go, the blessings and favor of God are evidenced.

Any land that you own.

Your church.

Your community.

Your nation. 

The following are ways that you can position yourself to open portals of glory:

Obedience Deuteronomy 28:1-13

Tithes and offerings Malachi 3:10-12 

Repentance Example of Christ's identificational repentance at His baptism Matthew 3:14-17; Dan 9,10

Worship and Praise 2 Chronicles 5:13,14 (the singers/musicians at the dedication of Solomon's temple declared, “The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.” Praising God for His goodness and mercy creates an environment for the glory.

Prayer 2 Chronicles 7:13,14

Faith Hebrews 11:1

HINDRANCES TO OPENING PORTALS OF GLORY

Unbelief

Lack of understanding on covenant and new creation realities.

Fear of the unknown

Fear of not receiving.

Jealousy, competition and strife.

Critical or judgmental attitudes.

Unconfessed sin

Lack of consecration to God."

There is nothing about Jesus being the mediator here, or His finished work - it is all about our own manmade religious works.

This is what Rick Joyner claims about Todd and open heavens in a recent prophetic bulletin here:-

"I saw faith become a fist that punched a hole through an overcast of clouds. This was the demonic oppression over America. As the holes opened up, angels started pouring through them. The bigger the holes were, the more angels that were coming through them. They were carrying the resources of heaven that included everything we needed. Heaven is about to invade earth. This is going to cause a great distinction to develop between those who know and serve the Lord, and those who do not.

Todd Bentley did punch a hole through the darkness over Lakeland, and heaven has been pouring through the hole, and it is getting bigger.  What is happening in Lakeland is stirring up the faith of many more. The “faith barometer” has begun to rise all over the body of Christ. Now many others are reaching up to do the same thing. The sizes of the holes are dependent on the size of our faith. I pray that what is happening in Lakeland keeps going and keeps growing, but what is now being released will go on regardless of how long the revival goes on in Lakeland. A fire has been started that is already too big to stop."

Note the reference to a type of Jacob's ladder again, that angels ascend and descend by to carry the "resources of heaven and everything we needed". And this is because an evil and blasphemous man, Todd Bentley, "punched" a hole in the heavens, as compared to the figurative punch in the air of triumph by a perfect man, my Christ on the cross, crying "it is finished", in whom already are all the resources of heaven and all that we need, and through whom heaven opened to the penitent. The claim that Todd Bentley has done something like this is ANTICHRIST. Yes, antichrist  in the true sense of the word. Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection punched the whole in the darkness and crushed the serpent's head and bound the strongman so the enemy's camp could be plundered. It enabled sinful man to be forgiven and reconciled to God and to at any time to approach the throne of God boldly - and more than that to be seated with Christ in heavenly places.

The kingdom of God is taken one man at a time, as he repents and finds forgiveness in Christ Jesus, or is healed and delivered in Jesus' name. Physical land is not taken.

The Proof of the Pudding

If   what these guys was saying was true, (which it is not, as it is proven to be unscriptural, but for the sake of arguement, let's pretend for a minute it was true), does it not then follow that Lakeland, Toronto, Brownsville etc should be full of supernatural activity and glory OUTSIDE of the meetings and the direct minister's sphere of influence and activity? There should be real revival going on there without the need for their influence or even their being there. If the 'heavy heavy weighty glory' and the heaven with a hole in it is above the town, with myriads of angels pouring out of and descending into the geographical area,  it follows that many townsfolk would feel this and be affected in some way who are in no way connected with the revival. People should be coming to Christ in droves without evangelism outside of the meetings. It follows that without  the minister's cues and the hype to manifest either in the meeting or via the media, to be healed, get visions or encounters with God, that people outside the meetings should manifest because it is God and not the minister or hype causing it. If these manifestations are truly heaven sent, then they should equally be happening outside the meetings.  But there is no record of twitching or jerking outside of the leader's direct sphere of influence, indicating it is not God but another agent causing it -for God is surely greater than Todd Bentley's sphere of influence!

YOUR WORSHIP, IS IT MERELY NOISE?

"Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." (Rev 3:19-21)

There are many Scriptures that are commonly misquoted and taken out of context. There is a saying amongst those who seriously study the word " a text without a context becomes a pretext." This Scripture quoted above is one such Scripture. How many of us have shared the Scripture above in regard to the unsaved? This Scripture, in actual fact, pictures the Lord seeking entrance into His own church for the purpose of renewed fellowship.

How sad and tragic that our Lord Jesus would have to stand outside of our lives, outside of His own peoples heart and church and knock continually and be ignored, be left standing outside the door. How many times in the world have we been going about our business in our own houses and suddenly realize that there is someone standing on our doorstep?

If you have been in your own house and see someone standing at your door as you passed, you quickly open the door and apologize and ask the person how long they have been standing there. Would it not be tragic if there is the person of Jesus standing outside of the innermost parts of our hearts and His knocking goes unheard? How is it that we cannot hear Him? It clearly says that He is knocking. Perhaps the things of the world, the cares of the day have dulled our hearing?

It is interesting that in the very next chapter , actually two sentences later the letter continues and says "After these things I looked and behold a door standing open in Heaven." This is the same door brothers and sisters. This is the door that the Lord wants you to open, come with me and see what the Scripture says lies beyond the door that the Lord wants you to open today, right now. ...........

"Immediately I was in the Spirit and behold a throne set in heaven and One sat on the Throne.
Oh brothers and sisters, we are in the very throne room of God, we have stepped into the innermost sanctuary of the mighty God of all creation. Can I suggest to you that in this place you will fall on your face? That the awe and the majesty and the trembling power of that place will completely take you over and you will cry "Holy holy holy . Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come."

When we, as "living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever," we will find ourselves "Casting down our crowns before the throne saying You are worthy Oh Lord to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things and by your will they exist and were created."

For too long we, as people of God, as the called out people have only entered into "His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise." And while there is great emphasis in ancient Israel for worship of joyful abandon and gladness, this was not the only "mood," of worship. Even prior to Jesus manifesting Himself on the earth there was a worship of awe and of reverence where one could barely lift their heads. The power would fall, the shekinah glory of the living God would fall with such a "Holy heaviness," that one could barely lift their heads.

If we are to move to a different place in God, as individuals and as a called out people, we must answer the knock at the door of our hearts. In order to hear that knocking we must abandon the "cares of the world. Instead of seeking the treasures of the world, we must turn our eyes to the treasures of heaven and its throne room. If we are to hear God, we must become silent before Him. We are moving into a time where it will be vital to be intimate with Him.

There is a time for shouting and praising God, but if we are ignoring the knocking, then we must stop shouting. If our lives are not reflecting the Glory of God, if we are not becoming like His Son, daily, then all of our shouting and praising God will just be so much noise. How tragic for the church of the living God if, when He looks down, He does not see praise but just a group of people making a noise.

Dear Lord and Father, in the name of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus, we repent this day and ask that you forgive us. We have had a form of Godliness, we have had a reputation of being alive, but now we want nothing more than to reflect the glory of the throne room of heaven.

We want to enter into this place, this place of most intimate worship that compels us, necessitates us to fall to the floor and cry Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy are you Lord in all the earth and we worship you. And when, for practical purposes, we get back to our feet, then let us be changed by the very presence of you in the most intimate parts of us.

And from the very core of our being let that change radiate outwards, let us take that change, that power, that presence back out into the world of darkness and let that light so shine before men who dwell in darkness that they run to you. Fire in our hearts from the throne room of heaven. Living coals received into supernatural hearts, hearts prepared to receive such coals.

No longer does the coals of fire burn our lips but it burns at the very center of our beings. Oh Lord I hear you knocking, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is knocking on my door? I can scarcely believe how honored I am, how privileged I am that you would knock on the door of one such as I.

"2Sa 9:8 And he bowed himself and said, What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?" Lord you restored everything to Mephibosheth, a lame man in hiding, and invited him to dine with you every day, I ask that you would restore us, your people, to the banqueting table of your presence and I thank you that your banner over us is love.

Bill Johnson explained the motives and discussion that lead up to this event in is his sermon Sunday, June 22, at Bethel Church in Redding, CA. Revival Alliance is the result of a prophetic word that Bob Jones gave to Heidi Baker regarding an alliance of 12 revival leaders. Heidi contacted those Bob saw in the vision and Revival Alliance was born. The leaders of Revival Alliance is determined to give themselves away for the benefit of others. The goal of this group is to stand together, explore together, and stay accountable together; basically to live and die for each other.

In the original vision, Todd Bentley's ministry was part of the alliance, but Bob said that at that time it was not the time yet to include Todd. When Bill Johnson asked Bob Jones if now was the time, Bob said, "It's time because of his enemies." Because of who is opposing Todd, it is important for them to rally around him.

Pastor Johnson makes it clear in his sermon that for him, when a man of God is being shot at, that is where he wants to be to stand with them. He wants to throw his hat in the ring with people who are making a mess of the kingdom of darkness. It is not the time to jump ship when someone is facing a hard time. That is when you rally around them and give the enemy multiple targets to shoot at.

Our very own Soror DS has just come back from a lecture by the famous George Napp ( he was the journalist that Bob Lazar first contacted regarding his time spent in the infamous Area 51)

Mr Napp gave a talk on his experiences at one of the strangest places on earth for UFO and paranormal activity. We are going to publish a series of small articles about this place known as 'The Skinwalker Ranch'

Part 1 consists of back ground information gleaned from Wikipedia and you are free to verify the long list of strange occurrences for yourselves!

Skinwalker Ranch is a ranch reputedly located in the Uintah Basin of Utah; it is allegedly the site of a series of paranormal activities.

A precise site has never been publicly confirmed, but the ranch is supposed to cover 480 acres relatively near to the Utah cities of Roosevelt and Vernal. Its name is a play on George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch, and comes from the "Skinwalker", a supernatural being in Ute folklore.

Background

Tom Gorman and his wife, sometimes called Terry and Gwen Sherman, bought the ranch from absent owners in the autumn of 1994, with the intention of raising cattle. After reputedly experiencing what they believed to be paranormal activity, and citing personal stress, the family tried to sell the ranch in 1996. Some regional press outlets picked up news of the alleged phenomena shortly afterward.

The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDSci), which funds study of the paranormal, purchased the ranch for $200,000. The ranch featured in the media again in 2002 when NIDSci gave Las Vegas Mercury reporter George Knapp access to the ranch. Knapp wrote a two-part article, which was published in the now-defunct alternative newsweekly Las Vegas Mercury in November 2002.

Hunt for the Skinwalker, A detailed book about the ranch and the NIDSci investigation which was co-written by NIDSci researcher Colm Kelleher and Knapp was published in December 2005. The authors insisted that standard scientific protocols were followed in the investigation at the ranch, and that scientists and researchers witnessed bizarre phenomena, but there has been no independent verification of those claims.

A Utah talk radio host, Steven Rinehart, claimed in December 2006 on the air to have visited the ranch. He subsequently posted photographs of the ranch and directions to it online (and a Google Earth link), along with purportedly unidentified footprints he found in snow near the ranch. According to Rinehart, each print was about 17 inches (0.4 m) long, and appeared to have been made by a large, bipedal creature.

Reported activity

Activity at Skinwalker Ranch in Utah proved sporadic from the late 1990s onwards, with periods of high activity offset by periods of dormancy. Many of the more unusual phenomena were transient, sometimes happening only once, or often reported as just occurring for a couple of weeks and then disappearing forever, making it difficult for investigators to get results or draw firm conclusions.

The exact pattern of activity on the ranch has proved difficult to identify during this timespan, due to the secrecy and inactivity of NIDS. However, in February 2006 George Knapp declared on the Coast to Coast AM radio show that the strange phenomena had started up again. He also stated that security measures were being used to guard the premises, and that anyone trespassing would be prosecuted.

Types of activity

A wide variety of paranormal activities have allegedly been encountered at the ranch. Unusual or unidentified aircraft, balls of light, poltergeist activity, cattle mutilation, and strange creatures have been reported. The last owners reported no problems while living there^. Chapter 14 in Kelleher and Knapp's book "Hunt for the Skinwalker" asserts that after numerous interviews with neighbors to the Gorman ranch, many spoke of unusual experiences to NIDS researchers (one, identified as "Mr. Gonsalez" alleged that he had unusual experiences with cattle disappearances). They also claim local Ute Indians have a history of encounters with unusual objects and creatures. Since the real names of these people are not revealed, these claims cannot be independently verified.

Unidentified vehicles

A refrigerator-shaped object about the size of an RV with a white light at the front and a red light at the back was reported by the Gorman family prior to NIDS' arrival. The vehicle allegedly retreated from Gorman and his nephew as they approached it. It then floated up into the clear sky and flew away. The vehicle bore a limited resemblance to a Chupa, a type of UFO reported in Brazil.

A black triangular object resembling an F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter was also allegedly witnessed by Mrs. Gorman. The vehicle hovered about twenty feet above her parked car before it vanished.

Known by locals as "ghost lights", the Gormans claimed that they could also move towards people as if to play a game of "chicken".

Orbs and floating lights

Glowing orbs of various colors, particularly orange and blue, were allegedly seen on the property. They were described as ranging from basketball- to baseball-sized, and some contained what appeared to be swirling liquid. These objects were allegedly capable of affecting electrical items, particularly lights merely by their presence, and of melting animals, such as dogs. This was possibly due to extreme heat or radiation that might have emanated from the orbs.

Another phenomena observed by the Gormans were large orange circles that floated in the sky and occasionally expelled orbs and unidentified beings. Mr. Gorman claimed blue sky was visible through one such circle he witnessed at night.

Cattle mutilations and strange creatures

The Gormans allegedly witnessed numerous cattle mutilations on the ranch during their stay. Some common traits of these included:

• One ear being cut off
• Excision of the cattle's genitals
• The cattle being cored out from the anus
• Exsanguinations, some instances of which took place very quickly (twenty minutes, on one occasion)

This is a video of Heather Clark's warfare dance at the Lakeland Outpouring on June 2, 2008, I believe it was. I cannot believe the uproar I have seen in the blogosphere and on You Tube over this. For the record, I believe it is an awesome piece of prophetic worship. Heather just released a new album of live worship from the Outpouring and you can find it here (it's really good!)

Heather has offered an explanation of the meaning behind the dance for those who do not understand prophetic worship:

The fact is I left the key board with the single intent of just dancing before the Lord. I was on the STAGE cause I was leading worship. And as a matter of a fact I was wishing that the camera was not on me. At first I was trying to move around back and forth so that they couldn’t catch me. As I danced I felt in my heart a call to the body of Christ to rise up as the army of God and take hold of the promise land that is ours, standing against every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ.

So let’s break this down for a moment. I will watch on the video and go through. First part, dancing energetically around the stage, stomping and spinning. Here is my response to that
There are some scriptures that use the word “rejoice” (gul) that have the meaning - TO SPIN AROUND UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY VIOLENT EMOTION, USUALLY REJOICE OR FEAR, be glad, joy, to go around in a circle.

Psalm 9:14, “I will rejoice in Your salvation.”

Psalm 13:5 “But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”

Psalm 16:9 “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope.”

Psalm 21:1, 31:7, 32:11, 35:9, plus 35 more references.

PART 2 GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH MY HEAD DOWN. I have heard some complain that my head was down… that’s cause I didn’t actually want to be seen. I would have done the same dance before the Lord if I was at the back of the church. I felt an intercession and a warfare type dance forming in me.

PART 3: FEW ROBOTIC MOVES AND THEN SOME ARM SWINGING. This was was 2 things. um, well one I was catching my breath and trying to just wait on the Lord if I should go into what I was feeling which was to call the body to war. At THIS POINT, teh dance went from being me before the Lord to me before the people because there was a “message” to it. In order to receive that message, the people had to see it. The second thing was me transitioning into the prophetic part. A picture was coming to me of like being in a battle field.

PART 4: Robotic moves. I am a modern dancer and so for me those types of movements are very militant and “strong”. They require a lot physically and in my mind I am thinking of the armor of God, blocking the arrows of the enemy, shield of faith.

PART 5: Around 2:05. I do some grabbing motions. In my mind I am praying and speaking to the enemy with motions saying “give that back. That’s mine” There are places where the enemy has come like a lion seeking whom he may devour and there are things in our lives that have been robbed. As the body it’s time to take them back.

PART 6: Up to about 2:19 this is if you are watching the same youtube as me…I am doing some more grabbing. Very strong violent type motions. I am thinking “The Kingdom of God suffers violence and violent take it by force!”

PART 7: About 2:39. I hit my own wrists and then open my hands. I am praying for the chains to come off the body of Christ that they would be set free.

PART 8: from there i go into pulling motions again. I am pulling back that which the enemy has stollen and sometimes that’s a hard fight so I am doing it with tension in my arms.

PART 9: more robotic stuff, hide my head. i am thinking that when we fight we need to not only be offensive but defensive and remember the armor of God. The helmet of Salvation to protect our minds. I am doing shielding motions.

PART 10: I walk away and mean to end… you can believe this or not but when I turned around and put my hands together I THOUGHT I was going to do one more pulling motion and my hands came together in the shape of a gun and I felt the Lord “blessed be the Lord my God who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle!” Maybe if it would have been a sword motion it may have been less offensive. It was a modern way of saying/praying that the enemy will be taken down as we use the “sword” of the spirit (only I used a gun but meant the same thing)

I know my eyes look very intense but like I have said before I wasn’t out picking flowers. I felt like I was in a mime type word for the body of Christ saying we are in a very intense battle of light and dark. It IS a battle zone out there and we must be aware of the enemy’s schemes. I felt like I was “hunting” out the places where the enemy tries to hide and firing against them.

I meant it completely symbolically. I didn’t think I was shooting people. I didn’t “see” any demons. I didn’t even think that the motion was specifically pegging off some spirit. I just meant it like - this is the posture that we should have. To be aware of the enemy.

Then I go crazy and it’s like the victory after a war.. “the horse and rider thrown into the sea!” It was a celebration of our victory in Christ.

So sure, I’ll give you this… it’s not like your regular church dance. I am sorry that it offended you. I think with a little explanation it could have been better received by some of you. The bible says that when we speak in tongues in public there should be interpretation so that the body can be edified. Art can sometimes be like that. It’s a language that not everyone understands and with interpretation it can edify and without it… well you see the results.

I could have toned it down a bit and got the same message across and I will be more aware of this in the future.

And about it being on the stage and drawing attention… if someone had a prophetic word they would not stand in a room of 1000 people and whisper it. They would go to the mic and speak it loud so all could hear. If the word is visual, it would need to be seen.

My heart is never to draw attention to myself and off the Lord but my heart is to call the body to a place of greater awareness.

As for my doctrine and beliefs they are on my website for anyone to read. Do i agree with everything that people believe that I minister with? no. Not the pentecostals, the baptists, the methodists, the vineyard, the renewal churches…. we’re not going to find anywhere someone/something that we completely agree with. I think that Lakeland consists of very hungry people, desperate for God, seeking a touch a miracle a healing. They seem to be finding that in Lakeland.

I, for one, would hate to see you "tone it down." It was great and there was a tremendous anointing in it. Rarely have I seen so many religious spirits manifest through one four minute dance. Heather has been called every name in the book on the internet over this. Thanks, guys, nothing like a little hatred to make the world just want to flock to the church.

Well, everyone…. Thanks for your thoughts. It’s interesting to listen to everyone sit on the seat of judgement yet NOT ONE of you has emailed me, contacted me, asked me a single question about the dance. Thanks for jumping to conclusions though!

Many people feel justified in what they are doing because they are contending for the faith or contending for doctrinal purity. But scripture is clear about some things. Jesus said, "If your brother sins AGAINST YOU, go and show him his fault, JUST BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU." (See Matt 18:15-17). Paul said in Gal 6:1, "If someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently."

When Peter was in error and promoting false doctrine in the Galatian Church, Paul confronted him. He did not write letters about him to the apostles in Jerusalem, he did not publish his discernment of Peter's doctrinal error abroad. He got in Peter's face and solved the problem. He wrote about it after the fact that others might learn.

When there was a contention over Paul's preaching to the Gentiles, which many Jewish believers believed to have been heresy, the Council at Jerusalem had a meeting with Paul and asked him to explain himself. They did not write to all the churches about Paul before they had spoken with him.

James writes about wisdom.

James 3:13-18

13Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

Think about what you have seen on the Internet. Think of the tone some of it has taken. What kind of wisdom is it demonstrating?

There is no license in scripture for the current Jump Shout Boogie - Jump to conclusions, Shout at the brethren and Boogie all over the Internet to share your "discernment." The Body of Christ can do much better than this.

THE TRIBULATION IS AT THE DOOR

Here is a quote from Thomas a Kempis…………………..

“Jesus has many who love His kingdom in heaven, but few who bear His cross. He has many who desire comfort, but few who desire suffering. He finds many to share His feast, but few His fasting.All desire to rejoice with Him, but few are willing to suffer for His sake. Many follow Jesus to the breaking of the bread, but few to the drinking of the cup of His passion. Many admire the miracles, but few follow Him to the humiliation of the cross. Many love Jesus as long as no hardship touches them.”

Here is a quote from the Holy Spirit………………

“Only let your conduct be worthy of the Gospel of Christ, so that whether I come to you, or are absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one Spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the Gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries which is to them a proof of your perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict that you saw in me and now hear is in me.”(Phil 1:27-30)

Brothers and sisters, there is a coming tribulation. The church as we know it will change completely. It is almost at the door. The enemies of true and genuine Christians will not come from "without," but will come from "within." Many of you reading this will undoubtedly believe in a pre- tribulation rapture, I want you to put that aside for the moment, at best it is a non-essential. It only becomes an essential in regard to discernment. It has often been said in the world, and there is much wisdom in it, that one should hope for the best and prepare for the worse. Perhaps a pre-tribulation rapture is "hoping for the best," yet if this is not true(and I do not believe it to be so) then you are unprepared for the worse.

In the coming months and short years, we will begin to see a sharp division amongst Christians of every persuasion. When it is all boiled down you will have two basic groups. Number one of the opposing doctrines is roughly this. God wants all of His people to be rich and successful. They are to prosper and acquire. Now there are degrees of this teaching, some extreme, some more moderate, but all the same teaching. One of the extreme views from this philosophy is that Jesus is not coming back until every believer has an actual mansion here on earth. Along with this view is that God does not want us to suffer in any way, that Jesus did all the suffering and therefore we do not have to. A more moderate view is that Christians should be employers, not employees. They should own a house not rent. They should run the Government, not be run by it. Men of this persuasion want to see a physical kingdom here on earth , which they run. They want to acquire lands and influence, secular power here on
