Migliaia di persone si raccoglieranno oggi nella Contea di Derry per commemorare gli hunger strikers del 1981. Dieci uomini morirono durante gli otto mesi dello sciopero della fame nelle famigerate carceri britanniche di Long Kesh, nella Contea di Down, denominate H-Blocks. Nello stesso periodo, più di 50 persone morirono negli incidenti scoppiati nelle strade.

Il Presidente del Provisional Sinn Féin, Gerry Adams sarà l'oratore principale. Venti bande musicali, la maggior parte provenienti dalla Scozia, prenderanno parte alla cerimonia insieme a numerose associazioni.

Ma il portavoce del Republican Sinn Féin per Derry, Richard Walsh, ha commentato che i sostenitori e coloro che rinforzano il dominio britannico (riferendosi al Provisional Sinn Féin ed a Gerry Adams) dovrebbero smetterla di legare le loro politiche attuali agli Hunger Strikers.

"Questa parata rappresenta un abuso della memoria di quei 10 coraggiosi soldati che hanno donato le loro vite per l'Irlanda negli H-Blocks di Long Kesh nel 1981", ha detto Walsh.

"Coloro che sostengono di ononare il sacrificio degli Hunger Strikers questa domenica a Derry sono i responsabili della firma dell'accordo di Stormont del 1998. Quell'accordo era la negazione del diritto al riconoscimento dello status di prigioniero di guerra, ed anche la negazione del diritto all'autodeterminazione del popolo irlandese, ovvero le ragioni che portarono alla prematura e brutale morte di quei dieci uomini".

"Nonostante gli auspici del Capo della polizia coloniale britannica nel Nord Irlanda (il RUC/PSNI), Hugh Orde, il repubblicanesimo irlandese non è in 'agonia'. Il movimento repubblicano, che non si piega e non si spezza, continuerà a chiedere un ritiro completo e defintivo delle forze britanniche dall'Irlanda. Il raggiungimento di questo obiettivo sarà il giusto tributo agli Hunger Strikers e a tutti i patrioti caduti prima e dopo".

PROVO PARADE 'ABUSE OF THE MEMORY' OF HUNGER STRIKERS

Thousands will gather in Co Derry today to commemorate the 1981 Hunger Strike. Ten men died after the eight month long strike in the H Blocks of Long Kesh prison in Co Down. Up to 50 people died in violent incidents outside the prison during the same period.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams will be the keynote speaker - around 20 bands, many from Scotland, will take part in the ceremony along with various campaign groups. (BreakingNews.ie)

But Derry-based spokesman for Republican Sinn Féin said that supporters and enforcers of English rule should desist from linking their current actions with those of the H-Block Hunger Strikers.

"This parade represents an abuse of the memory of those ten brave soldiers who gave their lives for Ireland in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh in 1981," Director of Publicity for the organisation, Richard Walsh, said.

"Those who claim to be honouring the sacrifices of the Hunger Strikers at a rally in Derry City on Sunday were responsible for signing away Prisoner of War Status under the terms of the 1998 Stormont Agreement. It was the denial of this right, and indeed the denial of the right of the Irish people to govern themselves, which led to the untimely and brutal deaths of those ten men.
"Despite the wishes of RUC Chief Hugh Orde, Irish Republicanism is not in its 'death throes'. The unbowed and unbroken Republican Movement will continue to pursue a full and final British withdrawal from Ireland. Securing this objective would serve as a fitting tribute to the hunger strikers, and all of Ireland's patriot dead who have gone before and since. (Irish Republican Information Service no. 161)

I dissidents repubblicani attivi sono stimati fra gli 80 ed i 100 membri. Di questo zoccolo duro in pochi hanno esperienza da combattenti, in quanto precedentemente membri della Provisional IRA. La maggior parte, pur aderendo alla causa dissident, difetta di esperienza in azione.Sono pochi ma relativamente forti elemennti in Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone e nella zona a nord di Armagh. Si pensa che ci siano, inoltre, 250-300 altri elementi che prestano supporto ed assistenza, che però non vogliono dedicarsi alla lotta attiva.

Il capo del Police Service Northern Ireland ha dichiarato che la minaccia dei dissidents repubblicani rimane alta "in alcune zone del Nord Irlanda".

Sia il Continuity IRA che The Real IRA hanno compiuto attentati alle forze di polizia lo scorso anno, sebbene non ci siano state complicazioni letali. Si ritiene che stiano tentando di reclutare membri con più esperienza sempre ex Provos, sebbene non ci siano prove di un successo di questo tentativo.

I dissidents non sono stati in grado di formare un'unica struttura centrale di comando, e continuano ad operare come gruppi indipendenti. E' inoltre risaputo che i servizi di sicurezza hanno numerosi informatori fra i dissidents da una parte e dall'altra del confine.

A small hardcore are experienced fighters, previously members of the Provisional IRA. The majority are believed to be committed to the dissident cause but lack operational experience. There are small but relatively strong elements in Derry, Tyrone, Fermanagh and north Armagh. It is estimated there could be about 250-300 others willing to lend support and some assistance, while not wanting to become active fighters.

PSNI Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde has said the threat from dissident republicans remains high "in certain parts of Northern Ireland".

Both the Continuity IRA and Real IRA have attempted to murder police officers in the past year, although there have been no fatal attacks. They are believed to be attempting to recruit more experienced members, former Provos, but there is no evidence that they are being successful.

Dissidents have not been able to form a central command structure and still operate as independent. It is also widely believed that the security services on both sides of the border have a number of well placed informants amongst the dissidents. (BBC)

Enquanto o Y2B "upava", fui criando o novo post, mas por algum motivo desconhecido por mim, o YouTube (Y2B) não queria dar a URL do vídeo do Pira. Então tive que apagar o video do Pira do y2b e apagar o novo post. Isso foi na segunda.

Na terça-feira, piorei um pouco de saúde e nem saí de casa, dando tempo de preparar esse novo post e os novos vídeos, embora ainda faltasse subí-los para o YouTube.

O destaque negativo foi a separação das Coréias. Nas Olimpíadas de 2000 e 2004, os dois territórios que insistem em dizer que suã duas nações distintas, desfilaram juntas, como deve ser.
Dessa vez não foi assim. A entrada de duas "Coréias" significou um retrocesso no processo de paz. Uma pena, realmente. 

Entretanto, o Ninho de Pássaro viu uma festa para japonês nenhum botar defeito. Tudo muito bonito e de bom gosto. O momento mais arrepiante da abertura - na minha opinião, o momento em que a Pira Olímpica é acesa - foi de levantar e aplaudir.
A chama, ao chegar no centro do estádio, foi elevada até o topo pelas mãos de um ex-atleta Ni Ling. Ele "correu na horizontal" pela marquise e, em baixo dele, foi projetado um pergaminho. A medida que ele corria, o pergaminho se desenrolava e mostrava imagens olímpicas.
Depois da volta completa, acendeu-se um pavil que, em espiral, fez o estádio explodir em vivas. O fogo olímpico surgiu em todo o seu esplendor e agora vai aquecer os corações e mentes dos atletas.

Se o intuito era mostrar grandiosidade, luxo e um sentimento de trabalho bem feito, consegiram. Agora é esperar a tão aguardada competição. Quem será que vai liderar o Quadro Geral de medalhas? Prognósticos - que não costumam falhar - apontam a China como virtual campeã. Será?
E quanto ao Brasil? Superará o número de medalhas da Olimpíada passada?

LEÓN: Ése fué el nombre del gobernador de la Provincia de Venezuela en ese momento cuando se fundó, se llamaba Pedro Ponce de León y Riquelme.

Y finalmente CARACAS, en honor a la tribu que habitaba en el valle. Pero ahí es donde se genera la confusión y se presta para indagar más sobre la palabra. Porque muy probablemente nunca existió la tribu bajo el nombre de "Caracas" sino más bien como "CARIBE". Aunque han habido historiadores que se referían a una tribu de guerreros ubicados en el cerro El Ávila y en dirección a los Valles del Tuy (Estado Miranda) que se les llamó CARACAS, pero fué como etiqueta desde los colonizadores, no de los mismos nativos de la región.

La otra versión (que considero la más real) se refiere al nombre que proviene de una hierva que florece muy comúnmente en todo el valle y en muy buena parte del territorio venezolano (es prácticamente "monte") a que los indígenas llamaban "caraca". Esta hierba tiene muy buenas propiedades nutricionales y medicinales. Para otros, muy posteriormente, identifican a esta hierva como "pira" o "amaranto".

La Relación de Pimentel de 1578 ofrece una explicación al nombre de Caracas como el gentilicio dado a esa tribu, e informa que alude efectivamente a esa planta y a que la etnia es tan abundante como la pira o amaranto con quienes otras etnias aborígenes la comparan, dándoles por ello el nombre de Caracas.

Hay otra hipótesis novedosa donde asume que el nombre de Santiago lo decidió Losada, el fundador de la ciudad, luego de la victoria castellana en la Batalla de Maracapana en recuerdo al día en que los indios Caracas de la costa dieron la paz, o se rindieron en julio de 1567 ante el representante del rey, Diego de Losada, ya que al parecer dicho acto protocolar de rendición de estos Caracas se hizo adrede el 25 de julio de 1567, día de Santiago.

Una cosa que muy pocos saben (incluso muchos caraqueños) que el nombre de la ciudad fundada por Don Diego de Losada era aún más largo: "Ciudad Mariana de Santiago de León de Caracas", ya que él era un ferviente creyente de la Santísima Virgen María, a quién agradeció profundamente por haber llegado a un valle tan fértil y hermoso ubicado a los pies del cerro El Ávila, una enorme montaña que debe su nombre al Alférez Mayor de Campo Gabriel de Ávila, quién lo remontó por primera vez en 1575. Esta inmensa mole vegetal separa la ciudad del litoral central y sirve como nuestro pulmón vegetal. Originalmente los nativos (calificados como "los caracas") llamaron a esta montaña "Guaraira-Repano" que quiere decir "Sierra Grande".

Το pc μου χρειάζετε επειγώντος format!!Κάμνει 10 λεπτά να ανοίξει τζαι �%ϻμα εν ταράσ�$89 την ώρα που ανοιεί το μαους του μαγκώνει!Μετά που εννα ανοίξει στα 15-20 λεπτά αρκέφκει τζαι βράζει τζαι φοούμαι άμπα τζαι κρούσει!Πρέπει όπωσδηποτε άυριο η μεθάυριο να πάει στο 'γιατρό' του ;)

Το πρωί πρέπει να ξυπνήσω η ώρα 10.30 γιατί 12 έχω μάθημα!Τζαι σήμερα εξυπνήσαν με η ώρα 11 γιατί ήμασταν καλεσμένοι τζαι εψές έππεσα η ωρα 4.30 γιατί επία Basement!Έτσι εν πολλά φυσικό να νυστάζω!

Εφτιχώς που δουλέυκει τζαι το ac αλλιώς εν θα ετζιμούμουν την νύκτα με τόσηηη πυρά!έλεος πιον,που εννα πάμε???Εν πολύ το κακό!

η χαώδης κατάσταση του δωματίου μου στην Αγγλία εμεταφέρθηκε και στο δωμάτιο μου στην Κύπρο.Οι �%�αλίτσες μο� ανοικτές χαμέ τζαι κάμποσα ρούχα πάστο κρεβάτι..Η μάμα μου να έρκετε κάθε λιο για να με ρωτήσει αν θέλω να μου συγηρίσει...
