From last night's Family Guy.

From last night's episode of Family Guy featuring Peter Griffin and Surfin Bird by the Trashmen.

But my recent favourite has got to be the Electric Man. Now, other superheroes, atleast some of them, do not seem to have 'families'. Of course, you could argue that Superman grew up in the Kent family.. Spiderman, is from the Parker family etc. But except The Incredibles, no other superhero actually had a family - wife, kids, etc.... on his own. Electric Man, is thereby the true everyman superhero, however silly he may seem from the video clip below.

Me ocurre que oigo una música, que voy en coche por una carretera de montaña, que miro el ir y venir del mar sentada sobre la arena, que veo una foto de una plaza nevada o subo la cuesta empedrada de un pueblecito de la Serra de Tramuntana en Mallorca... y siento que he perdido algo que nunca tuve. Sentir nostalgia de sitios no visitados, de vidas no vividas es algo extraño pero posible. En mi interior guardo historias tan ciertas como si realmente hubieran sucedido. Son sólo esbozos de brevísimos momentos en una playa solitaria, sintiendo la brisa y el sol cansado del atardecer. O de una navidad idílica con música sacra sonando a media luz en el salón mientras me tomo un té recostada melancólica en el sofá. La mayoría de esas "vivencias" son imposibles ya desde su origen (soy atea, no me gusta el té y si me recuesto en el sofá me sobo) pero en esencia son estampas hermosas que me transportan a esas otras vidas paralelas por las que deambulo en ciertos instantes de mi vida.

Dicho esto confesaré que lo que yo más deseo en realidad es vivir la vida sin más preocupaciones que pasarlo bien. ¡Loado sea Peter Griffin!

Padre de Familia,

Estos nuevos episodios se verá como es costumbre en La Sexta todos los días antes de la emisión de Sé lo que hicistéis.

Se trata de una nueva temporada más que destacada ya que el primero de sus episodios, Blue Harvest se trata del capítulo de Padre de Familia en el que se realiza una parodia de Star Wars y en el que veremos al personaje de Peter Griffin como Han Solo, mientras que Lois hará de Princesa Leia. El malvado Darth Vader no será otro que el pequeño Stewie Griffin. El perro Brian será Chewbaca mientras que Chris, el hijo mayor, encarnará a Luke Skywalker. Cleveland y Quagmire serán los robots R2-D2 y C-3PO mientras que el viejo Herbert hará de Obi-Wan.

Además la temporada incluye también el episodio número 100 que cuenta con dos partes más que especiales, la primera titulada “Stewie mata a Lois” y la segunda llamada “Lois mata a Stewie”.

Hay que añadir que Blue Harvest se anuncia como un especial de dos horas aunque no es así ya que se trata de un episodio que ciertamente dura más de lo habitual aunque su metraje no es de 120 minutos (ya que se deben contar los anuncios que se emiten) aunque no sabemos si en La Sexta lo emitirá al completo o como sería de esperar acaben por emitirlo en distintas partes. Veremos…

2. Read
3. Drink lemony yuck things.
4. Eat soup
5. Rest.

The problem is, I don't like that list!

I just don't like T.V. I lived in my apartment for 3 months before we turned the T.V on for the first time.
I've spent the last month reading hundreds of pages about teacher discourse and sociology theories and I don't want to read anymore.
Lemony yuck things are yuck. Unless Glen makes them with honey in which case they're ok. But there's only so many of those you can have before your insides turn yellow. (and i know my insides are going yellow from them because my pee is yellow. Isn't that how it works?)
Soup is overrated.
Rest is very boring.

Wow- can I moan anymore?! Instead of moaning, I'm going to compile a new what-to-do-when-you're-sick list.

What to do when you're sick list:

1. Up-skill by reading "How to Do Just About Everything"
   How to overcome a phobia, lubricate door hinges, leave a party gracefully, cram for a test, examine a mole, keep a dozen roses fresh, retrieve a valuable dropped down the sink...it's all in there! One of the greatest present I've ever received.

2. Make a table from a cardboard box.
   I've actually done this one. It works really well.

I was randomly going through my trunk of multi-colored socks and I found some weirdo picture of Peter Griffin. And I was bored beyond belief so I decided to try and draw this comedic phenom.

Well after about 10 minutes of failure, I decided to turn to the internet to help me learn how to draw him. I went to google and searched how to draw Peter Griffin and got a step by step diagram of how to draw him. Once I learned how to draw him using the diagram, I leanred how to draw him without it. And from there, I leanred how to draw him in a lot of different other ways. Well, I just wanted to show you the diagram so that you too can draw Peter Griffin. Who knows, this may be your start to drawing your own little comedy!

MissingNo.: It's no fun if you go right out and say "this is a joke moveset"...*sigh*

I am simply apalled. There was clearly no thought whatsoever put into balancing this character. What's worse is that almost all of the moves are rely on the PPK formula--even the aerials follow this trend. I mean, Jesus H. Christ...it took me a few hours for my brain to fully register the tremendous, callous disregard for the Absolute Law that is my review system. How does Spadefox expect to get anything other than a 1 in any category with this? Heck, I might even have to give out my first ever "0" in balance. And sure, the 'set looks good enough, but guess what? Zero points there, pal, just for the rest of the moveset. Nobody but nobody makes a fool out of Chief Mendez the Magnificent's scoring sys-----------------------

Peter Griffin: Man, talk about iconic characters...

This moveset is funny. I think Peter would be a pretty cool character to play as, despite a middling showing in mantlecore77's moveset here. The inclusion of videos throughout the entire 'set really helps to illustrate Peter's varied, wacky attacks, and for the most part, this is a quite unique moveset. But it's not all sunshine and roses...

...Wait, what am I saying? This is awesome! I haven't enjoyed a moveset this much since that time I was trained in answering emergency 911 calls. What's important here isn't how fitting, balanced, original, or pretty the moveset is...but how freakin' sweet it is.

And it is, sir, freakin' sweet.

• Fitting to Character: mantlecore77, everything I say is a lie. Except that. And that. And that. And that. And that. And that. And that. And that. And that. 7/10
• Balance: I navigated into my weblog and sat prepared to type. I looked with a grimace at the questionable moveset mantlecore77 had placed in front of me. Of course I'd never tell him/her/it/potato how disgusted I was with his/her/it's/potato's writing, but somehow I think he/she/it/potato knew. mantlecore77 had always been full of energy and life, but lately I had begun to grow more aware of his/her/it's/potato's aging. The bright, exuberant eyes that I had fallen in love with were now beginning to grow dull and listless with the long fatigue of a weary life. 7/10
• Originality: I am so not competitive. In fact, I am the least non-competitive. So I win. 7/10
• Appearance: I woke several hours later in a daze. 6/10
• FINAL = 27/40

Even if you don’t like football, you have to be amused at the stunts of Terrell Owens and other performers during the course of the football game.

Most people who start off playing or watching football do because as young men or women, something spoke to them about the game. Maybe it was the ability to run on the green grass, or the love of competition was the key to you pressuring your parents for your first piece of equipment. Whatever the reason, we worship at the mecca of football every Saturday, Sunday, some Thursdays and Fridays to watch the players of our favorite teams strap it up and play football.

The reason that I am ticked off is that there is a clear double standard in football, and I have not really seen anyone address the differences. I was at home watching football with the entire Too Old crew, rooting for the Raiders. (See our live blog thoughts on the game) Before the Raider game, Green Bay was playing Minnesota. Since I have Aaron Rodgers on my fantasy team ( BTW, I put the beatdown on a buddy and won all the awards this week in the fantasy realm on ESPN) I watched the game with some interest. (That and he led a mini golden era in CAL football with the upset of USC and the almost upset the following year)

Aaron Rodgers scores his first rushing touchdown in the second half of a very close game. The game is made emotional by the fact that Rodgers has to replace a legend in Brett Favre, and they are playing his first game at home against the hated Minnesota Vikings. So, after his scores, he is clearly jacked up. This is the time that he will be able to turn the crowd that was so pro Brett Favre into fans of number 12, Aaron Rodgers. So, he does what is a time honored tradition, which is to hop into the stands afters scoring, called the Lambeau Leap.

Now, here is where I have my problem. Look at the picture closely. You see to refs standing right there watching the entire spectacle. They are always sort of amused when it happens. Some make it up, others do not have the strength to get up there after a long play. How is this not showing up the other team, or causing a non football spectacle on the field? Honestly, I think that all should be able to admit that it is. This is a slight delay to the game. But, for showmanship value, I think that it is worth it. It is not Peter Griffin over the top in his performance from the Music Man.

In the episode "Patriot Games" of Family Guy, Peter Griffin sings the song complete with choreography, leading the crowd into chorus, as a victory dance after scoring a touchdown and after guest Tom Brady tells him "no showboating".

That is a little over the top, but pretending and paying tribute to Usain Bolt and his stunning victory in the Olympics is not distracting or insulting to the other team. There is a story behind his celebrations and the Riverdance has a funny story behind it. Apparently the dance is also a diss at Brian Urlacher as well. The story behind the story is that Urlachers baby mama was suing Lord of the Dance, Micheal Flatley. Since the Bengals were playing the Bears, it seemed like the perfect in your face answer to a defense that talked a lot of trash about how they were going to be able to stop Ocho Cinco.

But, back to my man, T.O. The football as a camera and other funny celebrations go to show his creativity. I hated him as a 49er coming and celebrating at the star.

But, I respected that and I think that he respected George Teague coming and lying his ass out for his celebration on the scared star.

Now, as a Cowboy, I appreciate the celebrations even more. The league will need to slow down and let players show some of their more personal side. Unlike all the other sports where you can see the player/athlete, football has helmets which obscure the player. As a player, I would imagine that is nice, since it gives you some anonymity that you might otherwise not get. But, for the true showman, you have to let a player play.

So, in conclusion, STOP HATING NFL! You make me like you less. Notice I didn’t say that I was going to stop watching football, because I wont. But, you will make me angry and I will continue to vent in my blog….lol But, seriously. QUIT HATING on entertainment.

These things have been on my mind...

-       Move over Men’s Soccer, any more showings like the one in Ohio last Friday and we might be talking mainly about the Crusader Volleyball team being the most dominant sport on Campus.

-       Recruiting? Why has there been no buzz… by this time the War Room has to be getting prepped and ready to go.

-       The MNU game has been pushed up to 3 for the women and 5 for the men. That is very unfortunate. Is it because MNU doesn’t want MCC inviting their Kansas City recruits to the game?? No not at all... Wait… do we have any Kansas City recruits?

-       Volleyball plays Grace! This Saturday… be there and watch the girls play the Amazon women (thanks to this blogs mother for that label)

-       Women Soccer might be the most private team on campus. Sometimes that’s a good thing, but for the case of this blog… it sucks.

-       Who here can’t wait for MCC Men’s basketball?! Lock it up! Championship… 

Yes, it is irreverent.  It is edgy. It pushes the limits.  It is hilarious ( Ok, sometimes a couple of the jokes miss)!  Yet, since Family Guy premiered in 1999, I have been a fan.  The  somewhat dysfunctional but lovable family that is Peter, Lois,Chris, Meg and Stewie Griffin and their talking, cocktail drinking dog, Brian has been a regular staple of my viewing pleasure on TV.

Despite all its silliness, series creator Seth MacFarlane has developed an intelligent piece of animated comedy that is a real mirror on popular culture.  He makes us laugh at all the absurdities of life, while at the same time, he embeds into his comedy something for us to think about. For me, Family Guy has given me  real time to just laugh and let out all the stress of daily living by seeing the antics of my favorite family from Quahog on television.

I have posted a few clips below to give you a taste of this show that airs on Fox on Sundays. Watch an episode or two and become a fan.
