O ator Patrick Swayze festejou seu aniversário no set de filmagem de "The Beast", o primeiro trabalho do astro em frente às câmeras desde que, no início do ano, foi diagnosticado com câncer de pâncreas. Swayze completou 56 anos.

A edição digital da revista "People" informou nesta terça-feira que o protagonista de "Dirty Dancing - Ritmo Quente" (1987) parecia feliz e saudável no dia de seu aniversário, que passou junto com a mulher e os colegas da nova série da "A&E" na qual o ator interpreta o papel de um agente do FBI (polícia federal americana).

Na hora do almoço, Swayze e a mulher, Lisa Niemi, comeram juntos no camarim do ator, decorado para a ocasião pela equipe da série.

Kommer ni ihåg? TV-serien som gick på SVT på den tiden då det bara fanns SVT för de flesta och ungdomar åt grillchips fortfarande? 80-talet tror jag det kallas. (Ja vissa hade parabolantenn och yuppie-nalle men de räknas inte till allmän befolkning i mina ögon)

Jag hade helt glömt bort att den här TV-serien existerade till jag stötte på en hedervärd serieutgivare på gatan och han påminde mig.

Patrick Swayze borde de flesta komma ihåg och av någon anledning så uppskattar jag hans karaktärer för det mesta även fast de alltid är heterosliskiga, manligt hederstöntiga och innehar någon absurd ideologisk tanke (tex att slavar är helt ok att ha, som i Nord och Syd). Men har är ju så snygg.

Jag är torsk på romantik. Det är det som är felet. Nostalgi också. Men nu har jag sett 15 avsnitt á  en och en halv timme vardera. Så nu behöver jag ny stimuli. Hejja Pirate Bay.

There exist, to my knowledge, no standardized criteria by which whether a deceased person will live on as a ghost can be determined. The widely held premise seems to be that anyone could, virtually at random, be condemned to a pale mockery of life devoid of those few contingencies that occasionally render our time in this world to be marginally pleasant. Nevertheless, bewilderingly, a considerable number of people exhibit a desire see this proposition validated as truth-- if anyone among my readership is able to put forth an answer as to why, consider this my attempt to elicit it. 

- Gothicus Maximus

Ein angetrunkener Autofahrer, allein unterwegs auf der kaum befahrenen Autobahn. Eine durchtriebene Teenagerin, die ihren Freund zu einem Schäferstündchen auf den Friedhof lockt und dabei noch ganz andere Absichten hat. Drei ausgelassene Jungs, die in ihrem alten Bus ziellos durch die Kleinstadt düsen und nichts als Blödsinn im Kopf haben. Eine Tankstellenangestellte, die von ihrem besten Freund überfallen wird. Und ein besorgter Vater in panischer Angst, seine Tochter könnte eine große Dummheit begangen haben. Nichts haben sie miteinander gemein - mit einer Ausnahme: Sie sind zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort. Denn um Punkt 23 Uhr 14 werden sich ihre Schicksale auf verblüffende Weise überschneiden. Mit einem lauten Knall... und fatalen Konsequenzen...

Ausnahmsweise habe ich mich bei der Inhaltsangabe mal bei der offiziellen Film-Homepage bedient - ich hätte eh nicht gewusst, wie ich den Inhalt dieses Films zusammenfassen sollte, ohne zu viel zu verraten. Denn darauf kommt es bei diesem Film an - mit Vorkenntnisses macht er leider nicht mehr ganz so viel Spaß (wow, damit wären wir schon mal bei dem ersten Punktabzug, im ersten Absatz!).

Um den zweiten Punkt dann gleich mit abzuhaken: Leider hat der Film in der Mitte ein paar Längen, erst recht die Geschichte mit Cheris Vater zieht sich etwas. Somit wären wir bei acht Punkten, denn der Rest ist wirklich ganz großes Kino.

Eine verschachtelte Erzählweise ist mit Sicherheit kein Novum oder Alleinstellungsmerkmal mehr, siehe auch "Pulp Fiction" oder, ein jüngeres Beispiel, "The Prestige". Doch bei "elevenfourteen" wird nicht einfach nur die Geschichte versetzt erzählt, sondern parallel - ähnlich wie bei "Go". Dreh- und Wendepunkt ist dabei 23:14 Uhr, wenn sich die Schicksale kreuzen. Wirklich jedes Detail, fast jede zunächst unbedeutende Tat fügt sich nachher zum großen Ganzen zusammen.

Da der Film dabei eine recht kurze Laufzeit hat, ist das leider ein recht kurzweiliges, aber spannendes, lustiges, aber auch "verstörendes" Vergnügen. Was, wenn es so etwas wie Schicksal wirklich gibt?

"elevenfourteen" ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Auch wenn die Review recht kurz ausgefallen ist, so wird doch hoffentlich deutlich gemacht, worauf ich hinaus wollte. Mehr sag ich jedenfalls nicht zu dem Film, denn wie sich letztendlich alles zusammenfügt (sehr schön musikalisch hinterlegt mit "These Boots Are Made For Walking"...), das müsst Ihr schon selber sehen. Guckbefehl!

Before appearing in The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up or Superbad, or even showing up as Eager Cameraman in Anchorman, Pineapple Express star Seth Rogen played bully Ricky Danforth in director Richard Kelly's 2001 cult classic Donnie Darko. While Rogen didn't get too much screen time, he was present the first time Donnie and Gretchen spoke, delivering the classy line, "I like your boobs," and was also responsible for throwing Gretchen to the ground moments before she was hit by a car. Not exactly the funniest role ever, but at least it served as a stepping stone for Rogen from his TV roles in "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared" to his current streak of feature film success.

The Donnie Darko trailer begins with Drew Barrymore reciting a melodramatic passage from a novel to her English class, which includes Jake Gyllenhaal, or Donnie, and Seth Rogen. From there, it transitions to explaining Jake's fragile mental state and his frequent conversations with a giant, sinister bunny rabbit. After Patrick Swayze makes a brief appearance as a motivational speaker, Jake begins talking about time travel and predestination with Noah Wyle, his science teacher. All in all, the trailer has a very bleak, creepy feel to it, and it's clear that they decided to try to market it as a kind of horror film, even though it's really not. I think it would have helped if they incorporated some clips that show the dark humor that runs throughout the film, and played up the fact that it takes place in the 80s by including some music from the soundtrack. My favorite part of the trailer is when Jake looks into a mirror and sees Frank, the giant rabbit, and creates a ripple in the spacetime continuum when he tries to touch the image. Notevole film d’esordio per Richard Kelly. Atmosfere malinconiche, senso di catastrofe imminente, l’impressione che tutto sia vano: questo film decisamente dark è una delle espressioni più riuscite del malessere di oggi visto dagli occhi degli adolescenti. Donnie Darko ci racconta un mondo dove l’alto è considerato basso, la follia è istituzionalizzata e l’intelligenza bandita, i ragazzi sono educati ad atrofizzare il proprio pensiero, a renderlo lineare, banale. Proprio il mondo in cui Bush spende miliardi per predicare, nelle scuole, l’astinenza sessuale contro l'Aids, ben esemplificato dal preside della scuola di Donnie, che licenzia l’insegnante Drew Barrymore colpevole di seminare l’ombra del dubbio dentro menti destinate alla lobotomia. In questo mondo Donnie va dallo psichiatra e trangugia farmaci: in realtà è solo troppo sveglio, intelligente e vivo rispetto ciò che lo circonda.

Soffocamento e senso di angoscia invadono a più riprese, soprattutto nei rallenty che ritraggono bambini sorridenti saltare su tappeti elastici, o ragazzine che imitano le spice girls: la follia collettiva, come un cancro, cresce. Svagata e priva di pensiero. Per contrasto con Donnie Darko viene in mente un altro bel film sull’adolescenza, Stand by me (1987) di Rob Reiner: opposti sono i destini dei ragazzini di ieri e di quelli di oggi. Se alla fine di Stand by me (ambientato nei primi anni '60) c’era la conquista della vita adulta, della maturità, la possibilità di mettere a fuoco la propria individualità, in Donnie Darko non c’è nulla di tutto ciò. C’è solo dolore e implosione, perché oggi non è più possibile un romanzo di formazione, essendo la libertà individuale l’oggetto più temuto e meno desiderato, quello che, se non si sta attenti, fa diventare pazzi. O ti fa entrare in un buco spazio temporale, o addirittura ti fa morire, tutte tracce che il film prende in considerazione. Un protagonista alla Tim Burton (che un po’ ricorda Johnny Deep di Edward mani di forbice, ma anche la Ryder di Beetlejuice), un tono del racconto che va da Spielberg a Solondz a Lynch, personaggi secondari ispirati ad altri film (come Patrick Swayze che sembra un po' Tom Cruise in Magnolia): la cinefilia del regista è evidente, e lo aiuta a dare solidità al racconto. Nonostante ciò, Donnie Darko non è un film perfetto: la striatura paranormale è irrisolta e poco chiara, alcuni personaggi non sono ben comprensibili. Ma chi se ne importa. Questo è un film coraggioso, che racconta un personaggio forte in un’America avvilente. E dice cose su cui vale la pena di riflettere.

I have seen so many interviews that Patrick Swayze has done with Jennifer Grey and they have both always said that they would be open to it if the same people from the first film were involved.  So I am not sure if this is a rumor or if this could happen.  Dirty Dancing 2?

Do we really need a sequel to Dirty Dancing?  I could honestly say that growing up that was one of my favorite movies and enjoyed watching it until the VHS tape broke!  But I don't think we need to re-visit with Baby and Johnny!  What would they do?  Baby and Johnnie go to a nursing home?  It was re-made already in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights with Patrick playing a cameo as a dance instructor!

In good Patrick Swayze news, the 55 year old's health is improving greatly since being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in late January 2008.  It is believed that he got pancreatic cancer from smoking up to 3 packs a day which Wiki claims he is still doing even after undergoing chemotherapy.  I hope this isn't true!

Last week, Swayze spoke of his recovery, saying: "I'm doing really well. I feel really good. I've put on 20lbs. I should be dead right now. Look at me - I'm a miracle."

Se Luke Perry conhecido mundialmente como o Dylan em Barrados no Baile não vai participar da nova versão da série “90210”, pelo menos vai participar do primeiro episódio da série “Law & Order:SVU” no dia 23 de setembro.
O episódio também vai contar com a participação das atrizes Julie Bowen (Justiça sem limites,Lost) e Sara Gilbert (que fazia a chata Jane de E.R)

Uma cena inusitada vai acontecer na segunda temporada de Chuck, segundo a colunista do Eonline, Kristin dos Santos, o personagem principal Chuck e o ranzinza agente da NSA John Casey vão protagonizar um beijo! E não no rosto.
Claro que vai ser uma cena com humor, como e porque isso vai acontecer só em setembro quando Chuck retorna.

O rapper Nelly vai participar de alguns episódios da série CSI:NY, ele será um dono de boate que vai atuar como informante da equipe de CSI. Outra participação musical, mas dessa vez fazendo o que sabe, é da banda Marron 5, que vai aparecer tocando no segundo episódio da temporada.

Cinema
Já está na internet o novo teaser de Harry Potter e o Enigma do Príncipe, que será exibido nos EUA nas cópias do novo filme “A Múmia” e que no Brasil só vai passar nas cópias de Star Wars-The Clone Wars que estréia só no dia 15 de agosto.
Não sou o maior conhecedor e fã do personagem, mas achei bem interessante o trailer e com um estilo bem sombrio, será que o filme vai ser assim?

Depois de vários boatos foi definido quem será a intérprete da música tema do novo filme de James Bond,”Quantum of Solace”, e pela primeira vez na história da trilha do filme será uma dupla!
A cantora Alicia Keys será a interprete da música composta por Jack White, do White Stripes e Racounters, além de compor ele tocara bateria na gravação, a música se chama “Another Way to Die”. Gostei da escolha, Alicia tem uma bela voz e White é um excelente compositor, o filme estréia no dia 7 de novembro.

Algumas notícias velhas, que por causa da Comic-Con perdi a oportunidade comentar.
O diretor Tim Burton encontrou a sua protagonista para o filme Alice no País das Maravilhas, será a jovem talentosa Mia Wasikowska. Que está excelente na série Terapia da HBO. O filme será feito com a mesma ténica do filme Beowulf, com a captura de movimentos em 3-D, mas vai misturar Live-Action também.
O roteiro foi escritor por Linda Woolverton dos clássicos O Rei Leão e A Bela e a Fera, inspirado no livro original de Lewis Carroll, as filmagens começam em novembro.

Por último a notícia mais bizarra e que eu custei acreditar, a volta de Robocop aos cinemas já tem um diretor e craque na sua profissão, será Darren Aronosfky, conhecido por belos e ótimos filmes como Pi,Réquiem para um sonho e A Fonte da Vida. O filme será um reinício da série e não terá nada relacionado com os 3 primeiros filmes do personagem.

O rapper Kayne West foi confirmado como uma das atrações do Tim Festival 2008, o festival acontece no Rio Janeiro e São Paulo na segunda quinzena de outubro, os preços dos ingresso e datas não foram divulgados.
Kayne para mim é um dos melhores artistas não só de Hip-Hop como de música pop em geral, seguindo uma escola diferente do Rap americano, sem aquelas letras absurdas. Aguardem um post falando sobre sua música e carreira!

Inainte de diagnostic actorul din Dirty Dancing fuma 3 pachete de tigari pe zi, acesta fiind unul dintre motivele care i-au cauzat cumplita boala. Chiar dupa ce a aflat ca are cancer, Patrick nu a incetat sa fumeze, fiind vazut intr-o stare deplorabila, dar cu tigara in mana.

Coraline de Neil Gaiman ganha vida em animação stop motion

Henry Selick, diretor da adaptação da premiada graphic novel de Neil Gaiman, Coraline, revelou detalhes sobre seu filme de animação tridimensional em stop motion numa entrevista para o site SCI FI Wire. A animação, com lançamento previsto para fevereiro de 2009, será finalizada em seis semanas. Selick, diretor de O Estranho Mundo de Jack (The Nightmare Before Christmas, 1993), escolheu uma das poucas obras em quadrinhos vencedora do prêmio Hugo. Dakota Fanning dubla a protagonista que atravessa uma porta dimensional e descobre uma versão alternativa de sua própria vida com outros pais. Para o diretor, a trama é um sombrio, perfeito e moderno conto de fadas. Gaiman colaborou com Selick no roteiro da animação na intenção de fazer uma adaptação fiel para as telas, mantendo o espírito e o tom da trama original. O atual uso de computação gráfica e técnicas de animação stop motion renderam diversos sucessos como Fuga das Galinhas (Chicken Run, 2000) e Noiva-Cadáver (Corpse Bride, 2005).

- Em entrevista sobre o longa metragem He-Men, o roteirista Justin Marks prometeu apresentar um filme mais realista, incluindo origens mais coerentes dos personagens, mesmo aqueles fantasiosos demais.
