The oil-rich Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are projected to earn close to 1.3 trillion dollars in oil revenue in 2008 and 2009, a Kuwaiti economic report said on Saturday.

The six-nation alliance -- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia -- earned 364 billion dollars from oil in 2007, the Al-Shall Economic Consultants said in its weekly report.

The GCC oil revenues are projected to reach 636 billion dollars in 2008 and 657 billion dollars in 2009, Al-Shall said.

Oil powerhouse Saudi Arabia's earnings in the two years will be just under 700 billion dollars. The kingdom posted 194 billion dollars in oil revenues in 2007.

The six states, which boast just less than half of the world's crude proven reserves, produce around 16 million barrels per day, or just under one-fifth of the world's consumption.

Now the United Nations has come out with an unusual statement of bewilderment and utter shock as the truth has come out. The dead man, Awad al-Qiq, was a U.N. employee and headmaster of a top prep school in Gaza. He was also the chief rocket-maker for Islamic Jihad.

Mr. Al-Qiq — not surprisingly, a science teacher — worked for one of the schools run by the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Now that he is out of the rocket business, the employment of such a "respectable" individual by the sole U.N. agency devoted to Palestinian refugees deserves an explanation.

"We find it marvellous that Islam is growing. But there is a growth of blind belief (...) Take the beheading of non-Muslims in Iraq and Pakistan. The so-called heroic deeds are carried out in the name of Allah. What do we do? Do we condemn these? No, we look on silently. We do however take to the streets if there is an insulting cartoon in a newspaper and we threaten politicians with death (...)."

"What do we say about (...) Iran, where non-Muslims are not allowed to take a university course? About Afghanistan, where non-Muslims are spat at, insulted and hunted by Taliban-like Muslims? Or about the Netherlands, where non-Muslims are pestered with similar tactics by Muslims and preferably hunted out of the district? Nothing."

"Why do we not take to the street against these and other actions of our fellow-believers? Why do we behave without respect in the Netherlands, take few social rules or standards of decency into consideration and commit senseless violence, while we make much use of medical provisions (...), complain a lot and say that others must take account of us?"

De Volkskrant published the article yesterday under the fictitious name of Samira al-Onal. The writer is a highly-educated Dutch Muslim woman, according to the newspaper. "As an exception, the editorial staff sometimes backs publication of an article under a pseudonym, due to the author's fear of reprisals." De Volkskrant is publishing a longer article by her today.

According to Verdonk, Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin informed her by letter last Tuesday that her bodyguards would be withdrawn on 4 June. She is only still being 'escorted.' This means that instead of permanent bodyguards, she will only have a car behind her following at a distance.

Verdonk said yesterday in De Telegraaf newspaper: "Muslim radicals and leftwing extremists know one thing: If I come to power, then I will tackle them." (...) "I do not feel safe." (...) "You do not have to google for long to come across very ugly things about me!"

I am very honoured indeed to have been invited by the Danish Free Press Society to speak in the Danish Parliament, the heart of Danish democracy. My special thanks go to Lars Hedegaard and Katrine Winkel Holm, who were so kind to invite me here.

As you may know, the title of my short film about the Koran and Islam is Fitna . Fitna is an Arabic word with many meanings. The most common translation is ‘ordeal' or ‘trial'. The name Fitna symbolises my view that Islam is the ordeal with which the free West is currently confronted. Are we prepared to defend our achievements, such as the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals as well as the separation of Church and State? I would like to throw some light today on the question of whether the Netherlands and Europe will be able to face that ordeal and stand the test. I will also address the question of why I made Fitna , and relate to you some of the reactions to my film as well as some of my personal circumstances. Lastly, I will offer you some thoughts on the future of freedom and democracy in Europe.

Let me first explain to you why I made Fitna.

Det var den radikale appeasement-politik, der var Danmarks officielle svar på udfordringen fra Nazityskland. Det endte i Besættelsen i 1940. Det radikale islæt i fodnotepolitikken i 1980'erne er ligeledes uomtvisteligt, personificeret ved Niels Helveg Petersen. Også her bragte det Danmark helt ud på kanten af afgrunden.

Og nu reagerer en ny tids radikal leder, Margrethe Vestager, på en ny tids totalitær trussel ved at hævde, at det er Danmarks bidrag til krigen mod terror i Irak og Afghanistan, som bør problematiseres, snarere end formørkede fanatikeres kyniske omgang med liv og død.

The central element of the Home Office plan is a new national "deradicalisation" programme that would persuade converts to violent and extremist causes to change their views.

Kopterne - I ved - det der er tilbage af den oprindelige befolkning, efter Ægypten blev erobret af 'fredens religion'. Den samme skæbne Europa står overfor.

Kritikken haglede ned over den hollandske politiker Geert Wilders, da han i marts offentliggjorde sin islamistkritiske film, 'Fitna'.

Til gengæld undlod de skarpeste kritikere at forholde sig til de grusomheder, som filmen viser, begås i islams navn - og de har næppe heller bemærkninger til, at Wilders må politibeskyttes, når han den 1. juni gæster Trykkefrihedsselskabet i København.

Hvad er det, som i særdeleshed får venstrefløjen til at tage mere afstand fra islamismekritik end fra islamistisk vold og trusler?

Debattørerne kan deles i de som ved, hvad de taler om - og de som ikke gør. Men stort set alle tager alligevel afstand fra det onde DF.

Men når det drejer sig om forherligelse af Che Guevara eller manipulation af resultaterne fra asylundersøgelsen, er der ikke en kæft der gør.

Meget akademisk debatindlæg, skrevet af en ikke akademiker. Hvorfor ikke være lidt pragmatisk:

• Bombe mod dansk ambassade i Pakistan
• 16-årig stukket under koncert
• Politiet efterlyser to personer efter et knivrøveri mod Dagli’Brugsen i Tilst.
• En mand tvang i de tidlige morgentimer en ung kvinde til oralsex nær Rådhudspladsen i København.
• Politiker lægebehandles efter røveri
• En fransk domstol har annulleret et muslimsk ægteskab med den begrundelse, at kvinden ikke som lovet var jomfru.
• Etc. etc. etc.

Er det ikke islam der dæmoniserer sig selv?
