Editor:

Let me start by saying, I’m no fan of Mr.Harper.

Both Harper and Dion are TRAITORS.

Dion wants Canada to be ruled by the unelected officials at the UN

and

Harper wants to integrate us with the US and Mexico.

Either way Canada will no longer call the shots concerning it’s future.

Dion and Suzuki keep screaming about “EVIL CO2″.

They, along with the wind industry keep telling us we should be more like Denmark and Germany.

Why? It’s not because of their low CO2 emissions.

Why is India Electricity - production by source:fossil fuel: 81.7%
hydro: 14.5%
nuclear: 3.4%
other: 0.3% (2001) and China exempt form Kyoto. Their CO2 emissions are higher than ours.
Do some research.

Denmark
Electricity - production by source:
fossil fuel: 82.7%
hydro: 0.1%
nuclear: 0%
other: 17.3% (2001)
(They have been using wind since the 70’s)

Germany
Electricity - production by source:
fossil fuel: 61.8%
hydro: 4.2%
nuclear: 29.9%
other: 4.1% (2001)
(We are told that Germany has more wind energy than anyone, yet Germany is in the process of building 20+ new coal plants)

Canada
Electricity - production by source:
fossil fuel: 28%
hydro: 57.9%
nuclear: 12.9%
other: 1.3% (2001)

Looks to me that the rest of the world should be following Canada.

We are told we need to follow the examples of Denmark and Germany. Why?
Even if they managed to cut their emissions from fossil fuel by 50% they would still have higher emissions than us.

We need to recall our elected officials today and demand an explanation.

Ontario could have put the scrubbers on the coal plants and built a new nuke for about 10 billion- according to the senior policy adviser for the ministry of energy.
Instead we are spending between 60 and 70 billion on a faulty dream.

No money for health, education or agriculture.
There is no excuse for the massive fraud taking place in this country.

Read Agenda 21 and Cloak of Green both found here

Have some fun - Google Enron,Al Gore,Maurice Strong and Bill Clinton.

http://www.windfarms.wordpress.com.

Enjoy the day and the scam

Ron

The last time I saw him was the 4th of July. We went over to their house to visit. I sat upstairs and talked with Tante Annie and Oma and Mom, and Hannah played on the floor. And Opa was somewhere else. In his barn working, or in his pick-up truck smoking a cigar, or in his chair downstairs reading the paper. We went out to eat at the A&W restaurant. We had hamburgers and rootbeers and whatever else. I had a fish sandwich and lemonade. He had a Papa Burger. Well, he just had a large Hamburger, but he kept talking about how he used to talk Oma and the kids to the drive-in and he'd get a Papa Burger and a large soda. He made comments about how I was fixated on Uncle Peter's Blackberry. He told jokes. As soon as I remember one it's going in here. That day, when we got back to Oma and Opa's house after lunch, he told me to call and I could come visit. I've been visiting Grama and Grampa's so much. But I've hardly ever stayed over at Oma and Opa's. I didn't call. I had a whole fucking week.

Actually, that wasn't the last time. The last time was at Hannah's birthday party. We went to King Buffet for dinner. I sat next to Opa. I sat NEXT TO HIM and I barely talked to him. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???

I know he lived on a farm as a kid, but I don't know where that farm was. I know he wanted to teach me how to drive. I know he was in the air force. I know he worked in the barn on tractors or... something. I remember always loving that typewriter in the office in his barn. I know he used to own ESSEX steel. I remember the cigar smell in his truck. The one-eyed spider named simon hanging from the rearview. I remember the day he came to our Public Presentations and I convinced him to buy donuts. We went to the Dunkin Donuts down the road that he remembered from something and he bought us donuts. He was listening to Atlas Shrugs.

He had a croquet set in his garage that we only played with once. He had a "secret door" in his barn that I loved as a kid. I hardly ever went up to his barn when I got older. He used to grill hamburgers and whatever on his grill out of the back of his barn. One time he took us to the woods on his tractor and the trailer behind so we could dump something. Brush I think. (The we included Maggie and Beth, my cousins, and I think Tante Cindy. Maybe other people.)

Has anyone ever told you that someone was dead? When I was told my Opa was dead, it was like this numb shock. I was on the deck. My mom yelled to come quick. I was griping in my head about how am I supposed to come quick with all these magazines on my lap. I get inside and she says that Opa is dead and she's going up to see Oma. He went to the bathroom and he died. And she's talking and she turns around and I'm staring at her. I'd followed her through the kitchen in the hall in this numb shock, and all of a sudden this wave of feeling crashes through my body and my eyes start to tear up. And Mom says oh honey I'm sorry and gives me a hug and and I start crying. So I have to find pen and paper to write down phone numbers to call my Uncles and tell them, and I'm crying, not heaving sobs, but crying. My Uncle Barry already knew. I couldn't keep my voice from wavering. My Uncle Peter didn't. And I called him and said that Mom told me to call him and he asks if somethings wrong and I say yes, Opa died, and he says someting along the lines of Oh no and he'd have to call me back. He is upset. And then Dad comes home and I tell him and then I call Kathryn. And she seems like she can't hear me. So I've told her that Opa died three times. And she doesn't get it. She goes Open What? And so I yell at her that Opa died. And if she can't understand me to get a different phone. Hannah is bawling, Dad had said that's too bad. Mom surprised me. She wasn't upset at all. Like, she was upset, and a little frantic, but not crying, and altogether relatively calm. I wonder how Oma's doing. She was always complaing about Opa. What he did and said and stuff. And now he's gone and she found him and she was the one who was married to him.

I told my siblings I want to make a memory box. A box that can be any shape or size and decorated (or not) any way. About a person or event. Obviously, this would be about Opa. You put items inside or pictures or writing or anything that reminds you of him, or something you did together.

He told me what fruit salad (officer's) was and I felt so knowledgable.

If you think that I am sounding very calm for someone whose Opa just died, realize that while writing this I have been almost constantly crying, and have spoken with Kathryn several times on the phone. We deal with things differently. She doesn't cry. She shuts it out, or whatever. It used to bug me. I don't mind right now. I know we deal with stuff differently.

I miss him, and I'm mad at myself for not missing him more, and not spending more time with him. Half of me wants him back, half of me wants to go to my other grandparents and spend time with them so the same thing doesn't happen, half of me wants to go to his barn and walk around remember him, half of me is furious with myself that I didn't spend more time with him. And if you are going to make some comment about my math that would me funny and sarcastic normally, don't, because it's just stupid and insensitive now.

Hah. Like people actually read this blog. Which is good, because it's not like everyone needs to know right now.

He had melanoma and prostrate cancer and he smoked cigars all the time, but he died naturally. Thank you Lord.

I remember once I went up to his barn, the first time in a long time, and I went into his office, and it was just him (maybe the dogs were there). All the lights were out except a small one in the next room. He was sitting in a chair with an attatched (I think) ashtray smoking. In the semi-darkness. And I was going up to tell him it was time to eat or we were leaving or something. And he said he'd be down. And I told myself I should stay. And I didn't because I couldn't stand the smoke.

Do you know what I was doing when he died? I was looking through my Seventeen magazines. Totally shallow. Stupid me.

A matéria não cita a Mulher-Melancia, ok? :-)

.

.

Watermelon May be the New Natural Viagra

“The most common side effects of VIAGRA are headache, facial flushing, and upset stomach. Less commonly, bluish vision, blurred vision, or sensitivity to light may briefly occur.” The website further states that in some rare cases, men might have a decrease or loss of vision or hearing which may be due in part to taking PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA.

“As with any ED tablet, in the rare event of an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury.”

(...) watermelon may be the new Viagra because it is richer in an amino acid called citrulline than experts believed. This amino acid helps to relax and dilate blood vessels similar to Viagra.

His department studies the benefits of food as it pertains to reducing cancer, antioxidants, and other beneficial uses. Their watermelon research found that the rind of the watermelon contains on average 60% higher levels of citulline than the flesh. He believes that scientists may be able to boost the cirtulline concentration in the flesh in the future.

(...) He thinks that you would need to consume 6 cups of watermelon; however, he countered that human trials would need to be conducted in order to accurately answer this question.

In any event, eating watermelon has other benefits as well. According to Patil, it helps the urea cycle by removing ammonia and toxic substances from the body. In addition, watermelon contains Lycopene, which is an anti-oxidant that protects the human heart, prostate, and skin health.

Editor:
As happy as I am to see this article show up in a "Mainstream Canadian Newspaper", I still have to ask-why has it taken so long to expose the scam that is the wind industry?
Hell, Enron started this scam years ago. Google- Enron, Al Gore, Maurice Strong and Bill Clinton. Like the media never noticed what was going on.

I've noticed the Globe and Mail reading my blog lately 'site tracker' and that's good. But, why does it take so long to get a story out. People have been sending the mainstream papers this same information for years. Why have they remained silent for so long?

Billions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted, landscapes ruined and peoples lives destroyed, while the media sat on the information.
I called the head office of CanWea two years ago this coming Nov. I told them the wind scam would be shut down within two years. I still believe it is possible.
It's time for journalists to shake the cobwebs from their brains, remember the journalist oath and get back to doing what they are supposed to do- inform the public of the truth.

Leave the lies and bullshit to the politicians and industry.
As J. Lennon said "Just give me the truth"

Anyway, I thank Mr. Reynolds for this story. Good work-even if it's years late.

OTTAWA -- Republican presidential candidate
Senator John McCain travelled to Oregon in mid-May to deliver the
definitive climate change speech of his campaign. He spoke in Portland,
at the U.S. headquarters of Vestas Wind Systems AS, a Danish company
that markets wind turbines around the world. He started on a
self-deprecating note. "Today is a kind of test run for this company,"
he said. "They've got wind technicians here, wind studies and all these
wind turbines. But there's no wind. So now I know why they asked me to
come and give a speech."

It was perhaps his most perceptive statement of the day. Five
sentences later, Mr. McCain made perhaps his least perceptive. "Wind,"
he said, "is a predictable source of energy."

Really? Define predictable. Wind turbines operate occasionally with
remarkable efficiency at 100 per cent capacity. More often, they
operate with 20 per cent capacity. Once in a while, they operate with
subzero capacity - taking electricity from the grid to keep themselves
running until they get hit again by a restless wind.

British energy consultant Hugh Sharman, based in Denmark, documented
wind power's capacity for subzero performance in a report published by
Civil Engineering magazine in 2005. With more wind power per capita
than any other country, Denmark (population 5.4 million) is the world's
showroom nation for this highly fashionable form of renewable energy.

Why, then, does Denmark export almost all of its wind power - at a
revenue loss? Why, then, does Denmark still operate all of its
conventional coal-fired power plants? In a phrase, Mr. Sharman says,
the reason is Denmark's "wildly fluctuating wind power."

It turns out that Denmark's vast array of turbines often produce
minimal electricity when demand is high, maximum electricity when
demand is low. Basing his analysis on data from a single year (2002),
Mr. Sharman reported that wind power produced less than 1 per cent of
the country's electricity supply on 54 different days. On one of these
54 days, the wind turbines took more power from the grid than they
produced. (Wind turbines consume considerable electricity whether winds
are blowing or not blowing.)

British author and energy analyst Tony Lodge makes the same point in
a report by the Centre for Policy Studies, a London think tank. "Not a
single conventional power plant has been closed in the period that
Danish wind farms have been developed," he says. "Because of the
intermittency and variability of the wind, conventional power plants
have had to be kept running at full capacity to meet the actual demand
for electricity and to provide backup."

Mr. Lodge says it is not practical to turn coal-fired plants off and
on as winds rise and fall - because ramping them up consumes more fuel
(and emits more carbon dioxide) than running them at a constant rate.
Thus Denmark relies almost exclusively on coal-fired plants for its own
consumption and exports its wind power at whatever off-peak price it
can get.

Only 3.3 per cent of Denmark's wind power gets "accepted" on the
grid for domestic consumption. In 2003, Denmark exported 84 per cent of
its wind-generated electricity at money-losing rates. And CO{-2}? In
2006, Denmark produced 36 per cent more carbon emissions than the year
before.

Messrs. McCain, Dion and Pickens notwithstanding, winds do not blow
predictably. Without an energy storage battery the size of Mount
Everest, most wind-powered electricity will be wasted and will almost
certainly increase a country's carbon emissions - albeit inadvertently.
When your power plant operates at only 20 per cent capacity (or less),
you have to build four or five times as many plants as you need. For
reliable backup, you still need either coal, gas or nuclear power - all
of which are cheaper than wind.

The conclusion seems self-evident. Apparently it isn't. Fortunately,
you can test wind power for yourself. Go outside on a hot and humid
day. Feel the breeze. Or don't
