...that's the new twist on one man bands... and they're joining the ranks of CNN.

From MediaBistro.com's TVNewser (8/11/08):

The all-platform journalists will join traditional general assignment reporters and CNN's roster of show-based correspondents in 10 new U.S. cities. Those cities include Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Houston; Las Vegas; Minneapolis, MN; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Raleigh-Durham, NC; and Seattle. In most cases, the bureaus are expected to be located at CNN affiliates in those markets.

Is this the future for all journalists? Maybe. It's a good reason to learn a little of everything in school, that's for sure. For more info on this story, click HERE.

*Off topic: Nike SB Concepts Lobster Dunks are sneakers "inspired by the seafood heritage of New England." They are limited editions, and come in a wooden crate. Really? I think I need to learn more about sneakers.

*Off topic: In the New York Times' Consumed column, Rob Walker writes about the Flip video camera, the camera I drunkenly bought off Zappos a couple weeks ago. Also, I used it to record a really boring video of my brother and me planting a tree today.

Na velha tradição de one man bands, iniciada por Hasil Adkins, este senhor inglês, que acompanhou os Parkinsons na bateria, da última vez que estiveram entre nós, acaba de lançar um vinyl limitado a 500 cópias.

O lado A é composto por dois temas que aliam o Blues ao Punk Rock, feito por um homem só e dois instrumentos, a 33.3_rpm. O lado B a 45_rpm traz apenas um tema.

I."U ain't" é uma espécie de exorcização da loucura, numa esquizofrenia entre a guitarra e a bateria básica.

2."Troubl" tem uma típica guitarra bluesy distorcida e fala da insatisfação constante, do alcool, dos abusos e implicitamente de mulheres. Uma incursão de um cowboy dos tempos modernos numa sociedade que se diz liberal, mas que no fundo é condenadora...

3."Trash Spell", é uma adaptação do "I Put a Spell on You" de Screammin' Jay Hawkins. Vale pelo vozeirão. Para quem usa botas com saltos altos cuidado para não acordar os vizinhos, a batida é viciante.

O meu é o Nº457 de 500. Com sorte acho que ainda arranjam um. Pelo que sei a Lost Underground ainda tem alguns.
