In the latest episode of musicQueen, you can witness the most unusual Wednesday morning I have had in a long time. At 10 a.m. I entered the lobby of the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost to attend the press conference of the revival of New Kids on the Block, the boygroup of my childhood. Watch me revealing who was my favourite one, talking to fans, posing questions that make the "Kids" feel old, getting a one-on-one with Joey after he went to the toilet, and frolicing with shyest one of the bunch.

Yesterday, a Beverly Hills judge confirmed that Lindsay -- unlike Khloe Kardashian and Brian Bonsall -- is satisfying her probation requirements. So far, she has completed her required visit to a morgue and community service.

Next steps: (1) Lindsay must complete an alcohol education class; and (2) update the court by January 2009.

Then in May when we were in New York, we were walking back to Times Square to our hotel and THIS is what I saw!!!!!! My friends, this is not just some pose for the camera - this is PURE JOY from my head to my toes! Looking at their initial tour schedule, nothing seemed to work - everything was up in the Northeast and late Sept/Early Oct. - I was willing to board a plane for this and I know I won't have to twist Brea's hand to go with me (remember we go waaaaaaay back so we did the whole New Kid thang together). But, what kind of aunt would I be if I missed another birth? Chris and I were at Disney on my rescheduled birthday trip last March when Harper was born. And Hudson is due early Oct. Hmmmm.....boy's gotta come early and I'll have to book a quick trip I thought. Then I saw they recently added more show dates. "I might can work with this..."

Here's where having a husband whose "the gas" and whose love language is giving gifts and who appreciates music so much all come together for the greater good. (Disclaimer! Chris in NO WAY is interested in the New Kids on the Block and quite frankly his friends think he's crazy - but loving music & concerts so much, I think he appreciates my want to be there.) So I got the go-ahead to book our trip. Then bless his soul, you know what he said? "I think I would actually go to that show with you just to watch how excited you'll be." Does he rock or what? Soooo, come October, Chris and I & Brea and Jonathan will be spending a fun weekend in Chicago and going to see Jon, Jordan, Danny, Donnie & Joey!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our boys will surely be entertained don't you think? (Disclaimer #2 J- would probably appreciate my letting you know HE's not interested in this either in fact he flat refused 'til Brea worked her magic)  Now don't you worry though, you know I'll tell you all about it!

NKOTB and Michael on TOUR??? after the leap, peeps...

Firstly, the newest photos of the once "King of Pop" (does that title now go to CB and Ursh in the interim???) show him in a wheelchair:

If the musical grapevine is to be believed then the 'King of Pop' is plotting a comeback with the golden oldie boy band 'New Kids on the Block' (NKOTB). The 'Thriller' man is supposed to have held secret talks with the band on a link-up at his home in Nevada last week.

New Kids' singer Donny Wahlberg said, "It’s very exciting. It's one big party and everyone wants to join us."

The band's reunion tour is planned for September. Their first in 20 years.

NKOTB was a leading pop group in the 1980s and early 1990s, belting out hits like 'Hangin' Tough', 'I'll Be Loving You' and 'The Right Stuff', taking them to sales of over 80 million records.

The group reunited in April 2008, and from all indications, their international tour is very much on. Toronto's Air Canada Centre on Sept. 18, 2008 is the planned venue for the opening. If Jacko comes on board, he will be among many who may perform in the tour.

Jackson is trying to re-establish his music career following his acquittal three years ago of child abuse charges. Although he is not a new kid on the block anymore, his act could be one of the most anticipated musical events in recent times.

i'm not saying deee-lite are shit. i love them but this song is all most people know and its played out. but you have to have it there. i don't have to have 'love shack' though, i will so survive...

divinyls - i touch myself

i probably only like this cos its rude, since its a style of music i usually don't care for. yeah that must be it.

emf - unbelievable

emf are one of the worst examples of early 90s madchester, baggy, whatever you want to call it...at the time though, there may not have been a distinguishable difference between them and the happy mondays.

5ive - slam dunk da funk

5ive were your archetypal wannabe r&b boy band who were more chesterfield than atlanta. so, they were fab in a way only a british boy band can get away with.

four tops - loco in acapulco

the four tops were way past their prime when this was recorded and it was included on the soundtrack to phil collin's buster, a terrible movie. it's summer 1988 in three and half minutes, however.

inner circle - sweat

top class cheesy summer reggae. no doubt a purist's nightmare, but hey, i'm no purist.

joey lawrence - nothin' my love can't fix

yes that's joey from blossom. the one who had a mullet well into the 90s and was endearing for being thick, like so many other joeys before and since. uk people of a certain age - 'joey!' hands up who didn't even know the origin of that insult when they used it?

kylie minogue - better the devil you know

this was covered by steps, and i'm not quite tragic enough to have them on my ipod. kylie is definitely better than steps...i think. yeah, lisa scott-lee is in steps and she's the epitome of desperation. agreed.

nkotb - step by step

the main reason i love this is the bit in the middle: 'step one! we can have lots of fun.' wait - was that sung by a donkey? well, danny wood was a donkey, horse, camel, depending on who you asked. this was obviously before jay-z and just about the same time as tony adams, so any of the titles were up for grabs.

pulp - disco 2000

i should hate jarvis cocker for so many reasons. he's dandy - i don't get that, i really don't get the russell brand thing. oh and he should really have given us another ten years - this was only released in 1995, five years before we were supposed to be fully grown. fat chance, i'm not even there yet.

wiley - wearing my rolex

my only real objection to this song, as with countless other bassline tracks, is that i love it. hear me out. i'm getting on, i did speed garage (for that it what this is, kids) the first time round in my uni days. you're making me feel old...

Before I begin, I want to point out to all that there are a mere thirty days left until my birthday. But I digress... Today, I'm going after the New Kids on the Block, who have lived on the block since the 80's. If the neighbourhood is that stagnant and you are still considered new, it's probably time to move. But anyways, I want to shred their horrid piece of trash, "Summertime."

I played it cool,

You had the beauty and the beach on lock.

Okay, so I don't know what it is with lyrics these days, but polar opposites of each other are really not that creative. Cool and hot? Again, I learned the difference in kindergarten and could pull better lyrics out of a donkey raging with syphilis. Did I just write those words?

With your flip flops, half shirt, short shorts, mini skirt,
Walkin' on the beach, so pretty,
You wasn't lookin' for a man,
When you saw me in the sand,
But you fell for the boy from the city.

Holy, someone overdressed for the beach. Two pairs of bottoms, but barely any shoes and shirt? Hello?! The signs say "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service." The only thing this girl sounds like she's been doing is servicing, if you know what I mean. And did you ever learn some grammar, New Kids? "You wasn't looking for a man?" How about... "You were not on the prowl for a male partner?" Not the same ring? Okay, fine.

I was like, "hey, girl, can I get your number?"
I remember what you told me too,
"Don't call after ten"
But you know that I did,
'Cause I couldn't stop thinkin' 'bout you.

Okay, now you STALK HER?! Specific instructions exist for a reason. Without them, nuclear plants could blow, the conception of children may end up in a disaster, and that would be all because of the failure to follow the instructions. "Gee, I'm going to be asleep, don't call after ten, okay?" *10:00 comes around* "Gee, I guess I better call that over-dressed chick from the beach!" DUMBASS!

The chorus goes on and tells us it has been a "few years" since they last spoke. Well, this song came out in 2008. And the beginning tells us that it is "set" in 1988. A few years? Try twenty, jackass. She's probably fat, and has 3 kids. Joe-Bob, Bobby-Jo and Elvis Jr. Let her go, man.

New Kids on the Block - Step By Step

Måste ju erkänna att det finns en och annan pojkbandslåt som inte är så tokig. NKOTB var ju det första riktigt stora pojkbandet och jag har för mig att de hade en återförening för inte så länge sen. Hur det gick har jag inte en aning om, har dock lite svårt att se ett gäng snubbar i 35-40-årsåldern strutta runt på en scen på det viset de gjorde i sina yngre dar. Fast å andra sidan, Mick Jagger studsar ju runt som han alltid gjort så vem är jag att göra en dylik bedömning bara utifrån hur gammal någon är?
