i've decided to go ahead and give him a blue jumper instead of a red one. i just prefer blue.

i'm very, very new at this whole crochet thing, so i am a bit nervous that this will come out like garbage. however, i did manage to teach myself to knit a few years back and now have taught myself the basics of crochet, so i hope that i won't come upon anything too difficult.

i've read through the instructions and i think i can handle this. *crosses fingers*

okay, off i go!

I guess the music industry as a whole is finally discovering that offering music in CD format at CD

I guess the music industry as a whole is finally discovering that offering music in CD format at CD stores isn't working anymore. I mean yeah they've realized this for a coupl years now, but they haven't really done much to get a solution to that problem. Thats where artists who don't have a record label anymore kick in. Artists like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails are pioneering this new type of releasing their new albums, and boy is it working.

A while back Radiohead released ther new album, "In Rainbows," online for FREE, and allowed users that liked the album, to go back and donate if they really enjoyed the album. Normally, this would be pretty risky, because you might not make any profit at all, with offering it for free and all, but it actually was the exact opposite. Radiohead made a $10 million profit in donations from users that liked this album. This was a massive success for Radiohead.

Now, Nine Inch Nails, (NIN.) has offered their new album, "The Slip," for free online at their website. (www.nin.com) NIN's new album has 1.6 million downloads as of July 23, 2008. I'm sure they have made amazing profits as well.

I think this is really showing the record companies that the way to stop piracy via Limewire, and torrents, is to start offering albums online, and not necessarily for free. They can start offering the albums for a small fee like $5 dollars and album, and still make killer profits. Nevertheless, piracy will always be around, and in a big way. Offering albums online will be the new thing of the future. CD stores are already closing, and artists that produce their albums online are making killer profits, you be the judge. What are your thoughts? (That means, leave a comment. :])

August: Osage County ganhará versão cinematográfica.

A peça da Broadway, August: Osage County, vencedora do Drama Desk, Pulitzer e Tony Awards desse ano

A peça da Broadway, August: Osage County, vencedora do Drama Desk, Pulitzer e Tony Awards desse ano será eternizada numa versão cinematográfica.

A world full of life
and a world full of life,
oh! it is a world full of life!
Yet what is alive
and what is dead,
in this unmovable quest?
Is breath alone a sign of life?
Are movements the only blood of life?
is a sight a right of life?
Then everything has it i say,
everything from air,
to water,from sand
to the fire,
everything moves,everything is moved,
by who,by who,
but the ultimate force.
We say we move by our will,
the wind does too-by its will.
The world is a curled ball,
which spins around eternity's eye,
one so centered yet moving.
The world is alive,
the world is alive
and yet it is dead.
for what is a point,
in a line but a termination-
everything of life's salvation.
Yet is it salvation?
when you are closed in a box
and let to the drollery death-
one predetermined ,yet so
one of the moment-
that you live in a paradox box,
wondering if everything is of clocks?
In a bid to survive,
to the cynical universe,
you wonder your worth
and think of those days,
when you were yet a child,
immaculate and unborn,
a virgin upon life's thorn.
The yearning to be a mess,
the yearning to be free
and roam the universe,
kills you.As the need for air,
is filled with ether,
which you see float
and rob you of the very thing
you want to seek.
Yet you are alive
and now not afraid,
with destiny upon destiny,
filled and density
added to the profoundness
and the worldly kindled
and the universal accepted ,
you break the box and that of life,
with a force that death cries
with fear of itself.
You become an eternal walker
upon the paths of forks,
you take the right and
yet move left,
and all the while you stand unmoved.
Achievement is a glory,
sojourn is a container,
life is eternal
and being universal,
you are immortal.
And the world ceases to exist
as you are the world,
you walk the vistas of your own anatomy
and you understand your own psyche
and the mind is but a tool
used to fight your own ,
for the amusement of life-
the breath,the laughter
and the smile.Eternal being
you are life and with the world
a peace breaths, there is no strife
and life! OH! life ,is a smile,
for laughter is ecstasy
and depression is pleasure.
Finally you shine,
no breath is needed,
for the light is the ultimate
and you are that,
peace be all,and aye,
nay darkness nay light,
so you willfully strangle your life,
so that light can squeeze out,
so that everything exists
and you are left to wonder
your own origin,
who are you?
what are you?
oh! universe
a bright sage whose wit is lost?
a stone who is sand?
a love which is hate?
a faith which is tarnished?
I wish i knew,
and so life moves,
and so the pressure of living
and the pleasure and ecstasy
and bid for freedom-
pain a need
and illusion a food,
my own thoughts conjure
the hell and heaven
and the non-existence.
what is the truth?
what is the lie?
everything has a face,
and that face has two.
A nine life being,
a seven seas roamer,
a five day fighter,
the sun and the moon
the satan and the God
all will perish when i die,
yet one will remain
and that is life,
the essence of the pinnacle illusion
the death which feeds the body's origin
is the essence of the universe,
to seek the next,
for the universe is alive.

The light shines the brightest

Tess lies sometimes. At school, she says that she has speech therapy on Tuesdays after social studies. She is careful to lisp when she says it—thpeech therapy after thocial thtudies. Her teacher says that Tess is precocious, that she tells good stories. “What a good story!” Miss Morris says when Tess tells her that she is a hemophiliac and has to be extra careful about things like blisters and paper cuts. Her illness is genetic, Tess says. Her mother is also a hemophiliac.

Tess is eight years old. Lying is something she will probably outgrow. This is what Mrs. Stuart, who takes care of Tess after school, thinks. Tess says that the stars are lonely, that the walls are crying, that late at night the trees outside her window fill with breath and whisper the names of dead children. Mrs. Stuart touches her wrinkled hand to the side of Tess’s face and clucks her tongue when she says, “That’s just pretend.”

The Grammy-winning singer has been cast as Saraghina in "Nine," a big-screen adaptation of the Tony-winning musical. She will perform the saucy song "Be Italian" with Guido, played by Daniel Day-Lewis.

"She's basically a prostitute on the beach," Fergie told The Associated Press in an interview. "She introduces him to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song. I'm just thrilled I get to play a character. I'm singing, but I'm not singing as myself. I'm going to be singing as a character, and that's what's really exciting to me."

Fergie, 33, joins Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Kate Hudson in "Nine," directed by Rob Marshall ("Chicago"). Filming is set to begin in October. Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, had minor roles in the "Poseidon" and "Grindhouse" movies.
*Found: An unreleased recording of the Beatles was recently discovered in a Liverpool attic. Is it weird that I have cited news items on Dylan, the Stones and the Beatles all in the past two days, a couple of them regarding the discovery of previously unreleased materials? At the day job we talk a lot about the emergent age of near-infinite information persistence, but it seems that a marked lengthening of captured data's life began 50 years ago.
A movie adaption of the Tony award winning musical, "Nine" is taking a hold of the big screen and it's not making its debut without some star entertainers. 33 year-old Grammy award winning singer Fergie has been cast to play Saraghina in the movie. She performs a racy song, "Be Italian" with actor Daniel Day-Lewis. Along for the Hollywood ride is Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, and Nicole Kidman. We're expecting this movie to be a hit, since it's being directed by Rob Marshall, the same guy who directed the amazing "Chicago". This isn't the singer's first appearance in a movie; she had minor roles in "Grindhouse" and "Poseidon". Besides prancing on the beach as a prostitute, Fergie has other things up her sleeves...well, on her feet. She just debuted her two new shoe lines and collections with Brown Shoe. Also, she's back with the great group that brought us "Monkey Business" in 2005-the Black Eyed Peas-working on a new album.

I must say, this SwellyBelly band has become a LIFE-SAVER in my last few weeks. If I didn't have a few of these, I would certainly not be able to be accomplishing as much as I have been. This weekend I was able to go out with my husband and finish up the baby shopping. We went to my mother-in-law's for a dinner party. I babysat for my favorite children. Plus we did the normal things: Grocery Shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry.

I'm not the type of person to just sit around and I don't think it would help my labor progress if I did! These help easy my back pains and are stylish as well!

Oh, the night I’ve had.

Posted by Tilia

Oh, the night I've had.

So, yeah, I'm moving in nine days. My last day of work is next Saturday (which is in seven days), and I thought I'd have roughly until then to settle the matter(s) on Guitar Guy.

Apparently, I was all sorts of wrong.

Tonight was Guitar Guy's birthday (oddly enough, it's also my kid brother's birthday. Whatever.) So, I had a massive amount of trepidation about going in tonight, and even briefly considered calling in, so I wouldn't have to deal with the inevitable group of friends, including the girlfriend, that would show up to wish him good tidings.

I even found out a few days ago that there would be a cake and ice cream, which I assumed would mean that it was an even bigger deal, therefore an even more solid confirmation that the Girlfriend would show up. I was unable to handle even the mental image of Guitar Guy receiving a birthday kiss from anyone but me.

However, the cake and ice cream seemed to be just from the band, and handled entirely in the green room, so that was a relief. Guitar Guy swung down between the first and second sets (there are four), and I grabbed him to wish him a happy b-day, and all that jazz.

"So, my last day is next Saturday," I said, in an off-handed, pleasebeworkingSaturday type of way.

"Oh ... I'm gone all next week."

There was a long pause in which we stared at each other, and then I glanced at his mouth. "So, that means that tonight is ..." I trailed off, not really sure how I should phrase, "the last opportunity I have to rape you."

"Yeah," he said, checking his phone for the time. The next set was about to start so he leaned forward and squeezed my shoulder. "I will be back," he promised, but then was forced to run to the stage.

During the next set, while alternately having really intense eye sex with Guitar Guy, a Boy came in who has been casually dating one of my good friends, a light tech from the club, who wasn't in tonight. The Boy is very sweet, if not slightly below my friend's potential league, and I swung by to say hello and chat him up a bit.

"Where is Josh tonight?" the Boy asked.

"Oh, he's off yesterday and today," I answered, jovially.

"Really?"

"Yeah, we went to see The Dark Knight, yesterday. It was amazing."

"... Well, then apparently I've been repeatedly lied to. Because, he told me he had to work every day for the past two weeks, and was booked solid for the weekend."

"... oh ... um ... oh ..."

Now, honestly, what was I supposed to do? I immediately told the other working light tech, and we texted him to warn him, but never got responses. I now have a slip of receipt paper in my apron that says, "Tell Josh I'll miss him."

I feel responsible. But, honestly!

How was I to know?

Anyway, so, around the time we were texting Josh about me completely screwing up his romantic venture, I noticed this very petite woman dressed like a cheap stripper near the sound booth. I knew immediately that this was the Girlfriend.

Physically, she's polar opposite of me. I'm reasonably tall (5'6"), curvy, blonde, and I look my age, which is 22. This girl looked OLD, but I guess hot in a far-away sort of manner. She was kinda-Asian, super small, and boy-shaped.

It honestly astounds me that the same man would find both of us attractive.

I should also mention that the other time I've seen her, she didn't look Asian. Just tonight. Maybe it was the caked on eye makeup.

I passed by her, with my eyes still locked on his, and looked at her next to me, then back to him. He didn't even realize who I'd looked at for another few minutes. So, even if she didn't know who I was before that point, she knew now.

She spent the rest of the evening glaring at me. I suppose this was warranted, but I'm pretty sure she knew who I was before she even got there, since it was in front of one of her friends/co-workers that I found out about her existence.

He came down after the next set, and I brought him a shot the door host had bought him. I did this quickly so to not be forced to meet her, but he hadn't even made time for her yet. When he did, they stood a polite distance apart and conversed.

The Light Tech for this evening went on and on about how much closer he stands to me when we talk. It's true. There's chemistry between us, even if there's comfort between them. Comfort relationships depress me.

As she talked to him, she continued to glare at me. This, for some reason, put me in a better mood, and I continued to flounce about, making obscene amounts of money off of my tables.

So, since nothing aside from continued eye contact (right in front of her!) happened for the next set, we're going to skip ahead to the next break, where he and she go outside and have a giant blow-out argument. I wonder if I was part of it.

She stormed back in, tears running down her face, which seemed to put everyone in the club into a morbidly good mood, and he just didn't seem to care in the least. He went back on stage, and had a great time.

We even had some close proximity eye contact after that, including a booth leaving and me cleaning it in the most inappropriate way possible. I climbed into it, sitting up on my knees and wiped it down in un-necessarily slow, wide circles, with my eyes on him.

He liked it.

The table probably never got all the way clean.

And I found out afterward that all the while, she was upstairs leaning over the balcony, right in his line of view, with big crocodile tears and a pout, and he just ignored her, and watched me clean a table.

Unfortunately, she never just left, which I was counting on, since this would be the probable last time I'd ever see him.

So, when the night ended, and she was still following him around like the Super Nintendo version of Zelda, I weaved my way through the tables toward him as he was waving goodbye.

"You know I'll never see you again, right?" I said, loudly, drawing his attention as I got closer.

"Right. Never again," he said, as though we're destined to see each other over and over for the rest of our lives.

"You have to say goodbye," I said, and went to give him a light hug, since she was standing right there, but he scooped me into his arms hard, and held me very tight.

After a moment's hesitation, I threw my arms around his neck and sank into it myself. "I'm going to miss you, you know. I really am."

"I know," he said.

"I know that you know," I responded, tearfully, and he leaned his head against mine. If she hadn't been standing there, we would've kissed. We both felt it.

Apparently, she just stood there with her jaw on the ground, staring at us, then grabbed his guitar and made a huffy beeline for the door.

So, while not ideal, the night was kind of awesome. However, it should've been awesome of its own accord, not as the Last Night We'd Ever See Each Other. What shit timing, seriously.

So, a few minutes ago, I added him on facebook. As soon as he approves me, I'm sending him a message letting him know that I never got to say goodbye like I wanted to, my phone number, and an invitation for "coffee or something."

He may be out of town until I move. Gone.

It may be over now. But, it shouldn't be. It was never supposed to end like this.

Maybe it hasn't.

Nine of Swords

It’s hard not to laugh hysterically because this card couldn’t be any

[caption id="attachment_466" align="aligncenter" width="183" caption="Nine of Swords"][/caption]

It's hard not to laugh hysterically because this card couldn't be any more accurate or any closer to the truth. Bullseye!

Nine of Swords represents trouble sleeping, possible nightmares, heavy stress, worry, not knowing what actions to take or how to navigate through change. The nine's represent the end of a cycle, and in this case, the quarrent is "freaking out" a bit about what's going to happen next. When I do a reading for others and they draw this card, I encourage them to let go of their worries and stop trying to micro-manage the details of their life. Let things run their course and understand that you can't control everything. Let go of the weight and the worry and trust that the Universe will guide you to the right actions.

Appropriate? I'd say.

Here's what the other sources say:

From Solitary Witch: Book of Shadows for the Next Generation by Silver Raven Wolf:

Nightmare; bound by your own fears; difficulty sleeping at night; personally imposed misery or disappointment; worrying needlessly; being disappointed in someone; possible danger - check surrounding cards.

And from LearnTarot.com:

worrying

doubting all will go well
brooding
making yourself sick over your troubles
going over and over an issue
feeling anxious and tense
getting worked up

feeling guilty

regretting some offense
refusing to forgive yourself
wanting to turn back the clock
focusing on your "sins"
being hard on yourself
denying that you did your best
getting overwhelmed by remorse

suffering anguish

despairing
feeling you've reached your limits
having sleepless nights
feeling depressed
going through a dark night of the soul
forgetting joy
wanting to cry

It makes sense that the figure on the Nine of Swords is in bed because it is during the night that our griefs and regrets come to mind most intensely. The quiet darkness strips away the distractions of the day, leaving us alone with our thoughts. Who has not lain awake at 4 A.M. filled with worries that refuse to go away? The Nine of Swords represents this unhappiness which can strike us at any time.

Unlike the pain of the Three of Swords which seems to come from without, the Nine of Swords represents the pain that we generate from within. What tortures we put ourselves through when our fears and doubts overwhelm us. Worry is probably the most common. Have I done enough? Will everything work out OK? What am I going to do? The thoughts go round and round - impossible to turn off.

Guilt is another source of pain. When we have done something that we feel is wrong or hurtful - or failed to do something we think we should have - the distress can be very real. It is worse when nothing we do relieves the bad feelings or makes them go away. Finally, there is just pure anguish. Sometimes the pain of life is so total that all we feel like doing is crying into our hands.

Needless to say, the Nine of Swords is not the most pleasant of cards, but it doesn't always indicate major distress. Often it is just a sign of some element of unhappiness or trouble - a vulnerable spot in your life. This card is often a warning from your Inner Guide that the path you are going down may be a difficult one. If you approach the Nine of Swords in this spirit - as a caution sign - you will be able to use it constructively. Examine your situation carefully to be sure you are making the best choices. Even a small change can make all the difference.

And from Aeclectic Tarot:

NINES

Nine is a card of completion (so is Ten, but we'll get to that). Like the Hermit, who connects to the nines, it is a card where something is finished and the person in turn steps back to look on what he's done, earned, or gained. Nines are among the most powerful cards, usually granting the Querent what it is they, like the Hermit, are seeking.

Nine of Swords

A man wakes from a nightmare, nine swords on the wall. It can be a good thing to find what you seek, except when it comes to ideas, words or problems. Find too many of them and they will overwhelm you. We all know this card, it is the one where we wake up at night and go over our troubles, problems, worries, thoughts, what we said, what others said. The Querent must be told that while their problems may be real, they're blowing them out of proportion, making them worse, nightmarish. They are spending too many sleepless nights alone and awake with these words, ideas, problems. What they are really seeking is to wake from this bad dream - which they can do by realizing that it is a bad dream - most of it is in their head.

If tv farmer and Deniliquin desperado James is wondering why he's hit a dry spell with the ladies, he might perhaps consider whether it has something to do with what's coming out of his mouth.

Dissing the women he's meant to be wooing on Nine's matchmaker series, The Farmer Wants A Wife, the 36-year-old sheep and wheat man has dipped himself in it by blasting his two "picks".

Suffering from a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease, James first bagged one suitor, Cherie, as being "rough as guts", then condemned the other, Toni, as no more than an aging "body clock". (news)

I’ve had this pet hate for them for a while now, mainly because all their shows don’t in

I've had this pet hate for them for a while now, mainly because all their shows don't interest me, and I watch a lot of TV so if I don't watch one of their shows they're doing something wrong. I watch ABC more than I watch Channel 9...Anyways I heard the other day that Channel 9 might bring back Big Brother. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Big Brother, I watched it every year since the Logan brothers won. It is the best reality TV show ever, it is THE reality TV show. I was so cut when it finished last night, at the end when they did the big montage of all the past series. It could've done really well this year but they chose such dud housemates. Some were alright, like Alice, Ben and Renee' were good choices to me. But most of the rest were pretty lame, they didn't make interesting conversation or have any fun. It was like DO SOMETHING! It had all the potential but it kinda just didn't work. They were all a bunch of freaks in the plainest sense...

My least favorite was Bianca, god damn she pissed me off so much. She was so serious! All the time it was like RA RA RA! In the beginning she was supposedly there to set an example and show that not all 18yo's are party animals and a menace to society. In doing this she became a bitch who yelled a lot. And her attack on Corey, what the hell? She full on went psycho at him and she had the most pathetic arguments.

But anyway, imagine if Channel 9 got BB, they'd try to turn it into a family show or something. Not that it isn't already a family show, but they'd make it like full on G. People are boring in G, there's no interesting conversation in G. They'll make all the housemates 40 or 50, and the special guests will be politicians or priests or some anti-drug and alcohol group. No Channel 9. If anyone is taking it 7 should, or even better 10 should keep it, let it lie for a year then revive it. It'll definitely be back, it's Big Brother, it's a worldwide TV phenomenon, it doesn't just stop. But when it does come back take it back to its basics, don't stuff it up with gimicks and desperate acts for viewers (bloody Pamela). Bring back Up Late and get some normal housemates! And by normal I mean actual people, who aren't all clueless, can have fun and are just...normal. And bring back Gretel, she's awesome.

It's a good show, you know you love it.

But in other news Australian Idol is starting up again, if you've seen the preview then you'll know what I mean when I say that I like the red-head. If you haven't seen the preview then you must live in a cave or something because they show it every two seconds, watch it.

The latest name attached to Rob Marshall’s musical is none other than the endlessly talented, acti

The latest name attached to Rob Marshall’s musical is none other than the endlessly talented, acting superstar Fergie, you know, of megahits like “Poseidon” and “Planet Terror.” So by adding her to a cast that so far includes Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cottilard, Penelope Cruz, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Judi Dench, not only does she stick out like a sore thumb but she also bumps up the films main cast from eight extraordinarily talented individuals to those eight plus one; making nine. That novelty is pretty much where my interest begins and ends in terms of “Nine,” for now anyway. [ComingSoon]

Fergie is meant to be playing the lustful Saraghina who introduces Daniel Day-Lewis’ characters Guido to a world of unexplored sensuality and sexuality. Personally, I just do not see her as all that sensual, especially when you have Cruz, Cottilard and the gang, which are far more sensual than Fergie, in the picture. I can, however, imagine Fergie Ferg playing the role of a big lipped, meth-smoking struggling musician/actress, but that’s still out of her league I fear. "Nine" will being shooting [up] in October in the United Kingdom.

“What on Earth is Marshall thinking?” If he is thinking at all. I’m going to [try to] avoid judgement until further notice.
