告訴自己：今天一定要跟昨天不一樣！

Next isn't worth your time. What begins as a standard thriller involving a man named Cris Johnson (Nicolas Cage) who can foresee his own future. Actually he can only see two minutes into the future, save for the vision of a woman named Liz (Jessica Biel). He see's Liz much farther into the future, although when he's uncertain. Behind the scenes we're treated to a terrorist plot trying to be overthrown by the FBI. Led by Agent Ferris (Julianne Moore) the FBI seeks to find Cris in order to make use of his skills. As stupid as that entire plot-line sounds, the movie runs with it. What follows is a film confused with itself, unsure of where to go - all leading towards utter disappointment.

None of the characters are developed well, nor does the movie take time to explain the nameless terrorists motives. All we know is that they're planning to set off a nuclear bomb - how they got it remains a mystery. About a quarter into the movie we change from thriller to action movie. Everything spirals downhill as things get progressively worse. Liz gets wrapped up in things, her life is threatened, Cris is captured - violence and mayhem ensue. Now, all of this might be okay, except that near the end of the film the writers decided to throw in the mother of all fuck-you's. Hints were dropped at it, only I didn't catch them until too late. What follows is a brief description of said ending, and my conclusion.

Cris decides to run. Liz gets captured. Cris gets captured and see's vision of Liz dying - can see farther into future thanks to Liz (huh?) Cris attempts saving Liz, too late - death hasn't happened yet. Cris decides to help Agent Ferris and the FBI. FBI is led to terrorists, and with Cris' help Liz is rescued from certain death, and the search begins for the bomb. "Its happening, right now!" screams Cris as he looks at a chart measuring radioactivity. The bomb goes off, everyone dies... except that it was all an extended vision of the future the Cris was seeing. Yes, its the classic "it was all a dream" ending - everyone's alive, everyone's happy. The movie ends with Cris calling Agent Ferris and going off to save the world. Its a piece-of-shit ending for a badly done movie.

Plot twists can be good, but this one just leaves you feeling shallow. We're supposed to assume that having seen the future Cris' insights will change it - and the day will be saved. What I don't understand is why we couldn't have seen the good ending - where the world is saved. Even with that there's too many unanswered questions. How come Cris can see into the future, why'd he see Liz? How come Liz is able to help him see farther? Hell, what the fuck's up with the terrorists? Basically you're better off skipping out on the movie, unless you're taking a class on "what not to do" - or you want to ridicule a bad movie. Then by all means, watch Next - you'll love to hate it.

Pentru astazi m-am gandit sa va monopolizez atentia cu un review pentru cateva filme. Va spun de la inceput ca nu o sa va dezvalui prea multe detalii pentru a nu va strica placerea de a le urmari. Click pe fiecare titlu pentru linkul IMDB.
Week-endul ce tocmai a trecut, am prins un film bun pe TVR (culmea !): National Treasure. Din filmul asta mai vazusem o parte cu ceva timp in urma. Acum l-am prins aproape de inceput asa ca m-am asezat confortabil sa il urmaresc. L-am ales din doua motive : e un gen care imi place si anume "action - adventure" si are in rol principal de Nicolas Cage. Filmul e pe stilul "Indiana Jones", adica se bat cu baietii rai, gasesc indicii care ii duc la alte indicii si in final ajung la o mare comoara. NOTA : 9.

Buuun. Vazut. Placut. Mai vrem !
Asa ca am cautat si am vazut ca a aparut si o continuare (stiam eu :P). L-am luat si m-am pus sa il urmaresc si pe asta: National Treasure: Book of Secrets . Cam acelasi model, dar parca nu acelasi feeling. Prea usor se legau toate, prea repede ii bateau pe aia rai. Inca un film care vine sa confirme ideea ca o continuare e de cele mai multe ori mai slaba decat originalul. Well, a fost ok si asta. NOTA : 7. Merita vazute unul dupa altul.

Acum deja mi se deschisese pofta de filme. Asa ca pune-te pe cautat prin topuri dupa filme bune. Uite ce am mai vazut si mi-a placut:

• Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Asta e cam ca orice film insiprat din benzi desenate. Personaje cu puteri supranaturale. Unii responsabili, altii care le folosesc la glume si la agatat gagici :P. Cei patru se bat cu un nene venit din alta galaxie pe o placa de surf (alta metoda de locomotie n-o fi gasit si asta ? :) ) ca sa distruga pamantul. Multe momente de cumpana, dar in final totul se termina cu bine. Film ok, destul de antrenant. NOTA: 7.

• Hellboy

Pe asta l-am vazut pt ca stiam ca o sa apara deja continuarea si eu nu vazusem originalul. Tot un film inspirat din benzi desenate, dar cu ceva in plus. Personajul principal este un demon adus din lumea cealalta de ... Rasputin (asa e ca nu v-ati fi gandit ? :) ). Dar demonul asta ajunge sa faca bine si pana la urma salveaza intreaga omenire. Good job ! NOTA : 8.

Se poate spune ca am avut un week-end fantastic, stiintifico-fantastic ! :)

Cam atat cu recomandarile din partea mea. Sper sa va starnesc interesul si sa imi lasati si voi cateva recomandari. See ya !

O Motoqueiro Fantasma é um ótimo filme para assistir no fim de semana, com cenas fantásticas ( cá entre nós um pouco exageradas ), o filme é baseado nos quadrinhos do criador Mike Ploog. Com uma história consagrada, atores de sucesso ( Nicolas Cage como Johnny Blaze, Eva Mendes como Roxanne Simpson e Peter Fonda como Mefisto) e uma trilha sonora que produz um velho oeste moderno O Motoqueiro Fantasma é um filme excepcional, e para quem curti moto é um filme dos quais não se pode perder.

Depois de assistir, não vá sair por aí pensando que pode dar um Olhar de Penitência, que não pode não eim...

A direção fica por conta dos irmãos chineses Oxide e Danny Pang que são os responsáveis pela primeira versão do filme que chamava "Assassino em Silêncio".

Franksters 5 PS:

Auch wenn ich in meiner Jugend viele Comics gelesen habe: Ghost Rider zählte niemals dazu. Das hat mich allerdings auch bei Iron Man nicht davon abgehalten, einen Abend mit Popcorn bewaffnet vor der Leinwand zu verbringen und mich köstlich zu amüsieren.

Gleich vorneweg: Robert Downey Jr. im Stahlkostüm hat mich wesentlich besser unterhalten, als Nicolas Cages brennendes Skelett auf einem Motorrad. Nichtsdestotrotz bemerkenswert, wie ein Schauspieler wie Cage - der ja wie der geborene Warmduscher aussieht - immer wieder in Actionrollen überzeugen kann. Mit Wes Bentley als Blackheart, dem Sohn des Teufels (welcher wiederum von Peter Fonda verkörpert wird), hat man sicherlich beim Hauptbösewicht nicht an der Besetzungscouch vorbeigecastet - und mit Eva Mendez zudem noch eine leckere Geliebte besetzt, die man als (männlicher) Zuschauer am liebsten auf jeniger vernaschen würde.

Woran liegt es nun also, dass Ghost Rider eine Höchstwertung hier auf CeeNema verwährt bleibt? Zum einen am allseits bekannten 'Da wäre mehr drin gewesen'- Feeling, gepaart mit einem eher enttäuschenden Filmende, vielen zu offensichtlichen Klischees und einer relativ schlechten Animation des eigentlichen Hauptdarstellers ohne Haut. Wer jedoch einen coolen Actionfilm mit reichlichen Stunts, Effekten und leicht verständlicher Geschichte für einen unterhaltsamen Videoabend in den eigenen vier Wänden sucht, ist mit Ghost Rider bestens beraten. 7 von 10 Punkten

E estreou uma nova novela na Globo no horário das oito (ou nove)...

"A favorita"! O autor estabeleceu que a boazinha é má e que a má é boazinha, quase um anjo de bondade. Nessa nova novela, a má que se fingia de boazinha vai cometer as piores atrocidades para que o público passe a torcer pela má que agora é boazinha.

Isso é chato, pois força a atriz gracinha Patrícia Pillar Gomes a incorporar em um mesmo personagem Hannibal Lecter, o Coringa de Heath Ledger e Castor Troy, o vilão do filme "A outra face", interpretado por Nicolas Cage e John Travolta (se você não viu esse filme de John Woo, não sabe o que está perdendo...).

Por outro lado, Cláudia Raia Celulari é obrigada a bancar a coitadinha, apesar de parecer o Garibaldo, inesquecível personagem da Vila Sésamo. É engraçado ver a Donatela fugindo para lá e para cá usando os disfarces mais furrecas da tevê brasileira. O golpe de mestre vem agora: o autor mandou prender a Donatela e a coitada foi parar em um presídio no estilo daqueles sexploitations dos anos 70, tipo "Presídio das mulheres violentadas". A coitada vai comer o pão que a Flora amassou. É a volta do Tonhão da TV Pirata. Só vai ficar faltando o Zeca Bordoada e o Barbosa.

Infelizmente a novela do João Carneiro virou um programa trash... talvez ele queira concorrer com "Os mutantes", aquela maravilha da Record...

Policiais foram chamados à casa do cantor, encontrado inconsciente por sua esposa. Hayes foi levado ao hospital, onde foi declarado morto.

Based on actual events this black comedy/drama stars Nicholas Cage as international arms smuggler Uri Orlov. The story follows Uri from his humble beginnings as a Soviet immigrant in 1970s Brooklyn and peaks with his involvement in selling off the stockpiled arsenal of post-Cold War Ukraine to--among other top clients--the sadistic African dictator Andr Baptiste Sr. (Eamonn Walker). Jared Leto costars as Uri s little brother Vitaly whose conscience and a burgeoning cocaine problem get in the way of business. Ethan Hawke is good as a sanctimonious Interpol agent with a vendetta against Uri but the film's biggest dose of onscreen gravitas comes from Walker whose Baptiste seethes with a heavy serpent-like malevolence. Written and directed by Andrew Niccol the film makes fine use of the brisk stream-of-consciousness narration style that Martin Scorcese brought to the true crime genre with GOODFELLAS (1992) and a near constant flow of action and classic rock songs that ensure a speedy riveting ride through three decades of global carnage. Cage who coproduced lets his patented oddball magnetism slowly change polarity until viewers realize they ve been led into a moral quagmire by falling for his self-delusory spiels about supply and demand making this one of the bravest and most jet-black comedies of its decade.

HOOK: In an age of dumbed-down movies (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) can a film be tripped up by its own cleverness?

STORY: A movie adapted from a non-story article in the New Yorker. What’s next, a Dreamworks' version of the yellow pages?

GOSSIP: Well, according to Production Weekly, Charlie Kaufman will make his directorial debut with a film called Synecdoche. Not only that, but he managed to snag Philip Seymour Hoffman for the lead role, as well as Michelle Williams. As far as plot goes, pic will center on an "anguished playwright and several women in his life."

JOHN: There are two especially remarkable scenes: Charlie (the fictional Kaufman snared into doing the movie version based on The Orchid Thief—the movie which, by the way, we are now watching) attends an orchid show. The species has managed to “adapt” by taking on thousands of shapes and color combinations. Seamlessly his attention wanders form the plants to the women there who he concludes have done the same thing. The second scene is when he is experiencing severe writer’s block. Suddenly he has a breakthrough and excitedly dictates his onrush of ideas into a hand held recorder. The verbal tirade continues but now we are watching the dejected writer listening to it, his face full of the frustration and despair of every writer who realizes what he thought would be his salvation is really shit.

GO GO GO (3 GOs out of four)

SPANKY: John, did you notice this movie begins with the shit Charlie later is listening to? Nicolas Cage playing both the twins is great fun.  Meryl Streep is classy and her performance very moving until the last fifteen minutes of the film. Toothless Chris Cooper is the wild orchid man, John Laroche (and will be no matter what other film he appears in). But here is where Adaptation goes wrong. In another great scene Charlie attends a NYC workshop on screenwriting his hack twin brother has recommended. He discovers what his film adaptation needs as an ending. Ironically we in the audience probably agree. But be careful what you wish for, as the old saying goes, because that ending proves disastrously unsatisfying (car chases, gun fights, death scene “truth.”) On the one hand this is intriguing for a movie buff to experience, on the other it is like some terrible endings in the past (Angel Heart, Jacob’s Ladder) that make you angry about the whole film and pretty well negate anything that has gone before. And if the film is trying to “adapt” to today’s audiences, it is a double disaster. Leave the schlock to lesser “Eternal Sunshine” minds, Charlie, give us something we can passionately love too.

Trapalhadas indianas

O produtor Marco Garibaldi, da Godfather Entertainment, pretende fazer a refilmagem da clássica comédia Um Convidado Bem Trapalhão (The Party, 1968), estrelada por Peter Sellers. Blake Edwards dirigiu o filme original centrado no personagem de Sellers, o desastrado indiano Hrundi V. Bakshi, que estragou as filmagens onde participava como extra e foi acidentalmente convidado para uma glamorosa festa em Hollywood causando uma sucessão de desastres. Preparem o champagne.

Premonição ou denúncia

O diretor australiano Alex Proyas, responsável pelos instigantes O Corvo (The Crow, 1994) e Cidade das Sombras (Dark City, 1998), prepara na Austrália o suspense Knowing (Ciente) com Nicolas Cage e Rose Byrne. Na trama, Cage é um professor que encontra os brinquedos guardados por seu filho numa "capsula do tempo" enterrada durante o primário. Nos rascunhos do filho, algumas assustadoras previsões que realmente se concretizaram e outras que podem acontecer, levam o professor a acreditar que a própria família tem envolvimento direto nos incidentes.

Chamado divino engana Internet

O trailer de Teresa: The Making of a Saint (Teresa - A Formação de uma Santa) surgiu na Internet e mostra a vida de Agnes (interpretada por Sophie Maes), uma bela jovem da região da Macedônia que cresceu num mundo dividido pela guerra. Depois de receber um chamado de Deus, Agnes viaja para um remoto convento com a intenção de aprender mais sobre a Palavra, mas se apaixona por um sedutor padre. Os novos sentimentos desafiam sua fé e ameaçam destruir tudo pelo que ela lutou. Um conflito interno leva Agnes a enfrentar a decisão mais difícil de sua vida. Uma decisão que pode alterar o destino do mundo. Acontece que a atriz Sophie Maes é, na verdade, Megan Fox (Transformers) e o trailer de Teresa é falso, produzido para promover a comédia How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (Como perder amigos e alienar pessoas) com Simon Pegg e Kirsten Dunst. John Carpenter volta ao batente num suspense com Nicolas Cage

O astro Nicolas Cage e o diretor John Carpenter pretendem trabalhar juntos no suspense de prisão, Scared Straight que conta a história de um jovem problemático levado a prisão pelo programa de prevenção a criminalidade chamado Scared Straigh (algo como "assustar para corrigir"), que encarcera adolescentes por breves períodos na esperança de fazê-los desistir de uma vida dedicada ao crime. Durante a passagem do jovem na prisão, uma rebelião eclode e o jovem torna-se refém. Cage fará um detento que cumpre prisão perpétua e sente-se obrigado a ajudar o rapaz.
