TESLA DELIVERS ‘FOREVER MORE,’
THE NEW STUDIO ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE OCTOBER 7
WORLD TOUR KICKS

TESLA DELIVERS ‘FOREVER MORE,’

THE NEW STUDIO ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE OCTOBER 7

WORLD TOUR KICKS OFF OCTOBER 1

Multi-platinum rockers TESLA--Jeff Keith (vocals), Frank Hannon (guitars), Brian Wheat (bass), Troy Luccketta (drums) and Dave Rude (guitar)—are looking well into the future with their seventh studio album, FOREVER MORE, set for release October 7 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings (in partnership with Ryko Distribution).

“I Wanna Live,” the new album’s first single, is being serviced to radio stations nationwide on August 18. The band’s world tour will kick off October 1 in Salt Lake City with more dates announced in the coming weeks.

For FOREVER MORE, Tesla reunited with producer Terry Thomas, who was behind the boards for the band’s 1994 Gold-certified BUST A NUT album, and engineered by Michael Rosen who worked with Tesla on INTO THE NOW.

Guitarist Frank Hannon explains, “We started writing new songs for this album the first week of January, while simultaneously planning a mid-West tour of America in February and recording our COMIN’ ATCHA LIVE! 2008 DVD while we were on the road. Coming home in March, we hired Terry to jump back into writing and recording music with us while we edited the DVD and routed a summer tour of Europe. We’re riding a wave of energy that doesn’t come easy for a band of rookies much less a band whose been doing this for over 20 years - and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
”

“After returning from Europe,” continues Frank, “we jumped right back into the studio to work on FOREVER MORE with Terry while setting up a tour of American festival shows in July and August, playing alongside bands such as Matchbox Twenty, the Wallflowers, Queensrÿche, KISS and Judas Priest. It’s great that we can play with any band, of any music genre, because we’ve never been pigeon-holed into a style or label of music throughout our career.
”

In describing the vibe of the new album, he continues, “FOREVER MORE demonstrates this idea of writing songs in a diverse fashion. The title track is one of our deeper cuts complete with heavy lyrics, de-tuned riffs and acoustic interludes, while, ‘I Wanna Live’ is one of our more uplifting songs that bounces musically and delivers a lyrical message that suggests living life to the fullest.
”

The rest of the album takes a similar ride of dynamic ups and downs with songs like ‘So What!,’ ‘Fallin’ Apart,’ ‘Breakin’ Free,’ ‘The Game,’ ‘All Of Me’ and ‘The First Time.
’”

All the tracks on FOREVER MORE offer a variety of emotions where each song has its own twist--not sounding like another. FOREVER MORE was written and recorded during a period of high energy and bizarre life circumstances for each of Tesla’s band members, with those experiences coming full circle throughout the CD.

Tesla’s DVD, COMIN’ ATCHA LIVE! 2008 was released July 15. It’s the band’s first DVD in 17 years (since 1991’s Five Man Video Band) and is filled with over two hours of live music, special behind-the-scenes footage, their fans, backstage, on stage and loose on the streets of Seattle.

In addition, Tesla's first double-disc collection of 32 of their best tracks and collectibles, GOLD, will be available on August 26 on Geffen/Universal Music Enterprises, ranging from 1986 through 2007 and including their chart hits "Signs," "Love Song," and "The Way It Is.

This is just sweet. It's nice to see that not every Hollywood couple that gets divorced or seperates goes through a bitter battle.

Carey Hart told People magazine that while he in unsure if his marriage to P!nk is mendable, he is optimistic and hopeful.

"I would like to have wishful thinking and say, 'Yes.' Only time will tell."

Their plan?

"Maintain a friendship, and who knows what will happen when we get older," Hart said Friday at the Flo-TV X-Games party in West Hollywood. "For the next three years, we're both extremely busy people so it's tough."

In the meantime, he's working at his new club, Wasted Space, in Las Vegas. "I allow myself one cocktail" while working, Hart says. "Everything is going good, but it's still a lot of work!"

But Hart admits there's not much time left to do one thing he's really looking forward to – being a dad.

"I am [on a time clock]," Hart says. "I don't want to do it past 35. My body is so destroyed, and I want to be a fun, young dad, not crippled and beat up. So I'd like to [have kids] by 35. I want 'em!"

While Hart is working on his new nightclub, P!nk has a new single due out this month and a new album dropping in Oct.

I hope things work out for them. Having met them both, they are very sweet people!

When I casually mention things like listening to the new Local H album, I get a lot of puzzled respo

"Who?"

"They're back together?"

"They havn't done anything in forever!!!"

"Who!?!?!"

Sure, a two piece grunge act that rode into the spotlight on a pop-song after Cobain had already put a bullet through grunge's life-line holds little chance of being remembereed. However, listening through their new album, 12 Angry Months, I wonder: could Nirvana have put a better album together today?

12 Angry Months is a break-up album. Not a surprise when the first single is called '24 Hour Break-up Session.' When I first read that online I thought it might reference the band itself; however, when pursh comes to showve, rock & roll proves to always be about just one thing: the chicks. The first track, "The One with 'kid'," a reference to the Pretenders self-titled album, is about the division of lives following a falling out. The slow intro and bulid up remidnds me of the Foo Fighters "Pretender," the first track on their latest album. True to form, I can imagine Grohl putting on 12 Angry Months and rocking out in full force.

The rest of the album follows the other emotions of a break-up, thorugh omstly of the "<i>do</i> let the door hit you on the way out" variety, and the first song makes that point fairly obvious:

Winning Is All That Matters ...

I Won't Let You Gut Out Happy Home ...

No Matter What It's Costing, Make Sure You Leave With Nothing ...

Won't Let You Leave Here Blameless ...

You Leave Here Empty Handed ....

It's a fun ride. They're touring now, too. I've seen Local H on tour before, playing at the Cotton Club in Atlanta, probably in '02 or '03 in support of their Here Come The Zoo or PJ Soles LP. They always tend to put on a great show, with more energey for the buck then most bands can muster these days. $20 for a great show is a steal - especially when most albums are enjoyed for free.

It's true that many people wrote Local H off after their secnd commercial LP, Pack Up The Cats, Appeared to be a slower, mellowing of their sound - exagerated by it's first single, which tried to catch people with the pop side of the act rather than their full-force sounds. Since that album, though, it has appeareed that the band has been trying to shake the "aging" labelby focusing on their hard-rocking songs. It's what gets the crowd moving during ths how, which is really what garners a solid fan base: not Top-40 hits.

If you enjoy the album, take a listen to some of their older albums. For a greates hits of sorts, check otu their phenomenal live labum, ALIVE '05 - which includes their cover of Britney Spears' song "Toxic."

I am so thankful for their ministry and I want to make you aware of them also. Their latest project is entitled "Psalms". And just like all their other projects it is Christ centered. They say (about this project) on their website that: "Our aim is to offer fresh interpretations of individual psalms, especially in light of the crucified and risen Savior to whom they point." This is what sets them apart from so much of the other "christian music" out there today. It has also been great to see their quality of production improve over the years.

Sugarland - Love on the Inside (Release date: July 22, 2008 )
My second favorite country album of 2

Sugarland - Love on the Inside (Release date: July 22, 2008 )

My second favorite country album of 2008. It comes in very close behind Lady Antebellum's release earlier this year.

There is something about Sugarland that I just love. I have liked their music since the first album, ya know, back when they were a trio. I liked them when they lost the third member and went on as a duo. I loved them when they put out that emotional STAY. And, now I love them even more. Jennifer Nettles looks and sounds great. Whenever I see her and bandmate, Kristian Bush, I smile. They look like they are enjoying everything that they have earned. They seem to appreciate life and are genuinely grateful for their successes. They are truly a joy to watch.

The new album, LOVE ON THE INSIDE, is one of their best. How do they just keep upping the status quo? This is the first album of Sugarland to be #1 on the country charts. If only Miley Cyrus did not exist, they would have taken the top spot on the Top 100 on Billboard. Damn her.

What do I not love about this album? I think the only track I could do without is Genevieve. Even still, I'll listen. On the deluxe fan edition, I was thrilled to hear the live version of "Life in a Northern Town" that they performed with Little Big Town and Jake Owens as well as a live cover of a Matt Nathanson song, "Come on Get Higher". Who would have thought?

So the true gems of this album are:

"All I wanna do" - just a fun summer song and the video is great too

"It happens" - I love when she says, "pshhh.....it happens" I think that was intentional. It was also intentional that it is my new ringtone. Ha

"We run" - Just a great mid-tempo song. Sing sing sing.

"Love" - wonderful ballad showcasing both Nettles and Bush.

"Take Me As I Am"

"Very last Country Song" - what if we didn't have problems. Then this would be the last country song you'd hear. for sure.

"What I'd Give" - a true longing

"Fall Into Me" - another great ballad.

Another great thing about this album is that we get to hear more of Kristian Bush. Long time coming...

So, can you tell that I loved it? Some nice country pop. 10!

My love for Relient K is a strange thing. It's true, I really enjoy all of their albums and own most of them, but when I'm having a conversation with a "music enthusiast" I feel like I have to hide the fact that I think Relient K is so awesome. Is it because I'd look like "everyone else," since they're so popular? For some reason I felt the need to bite my tongue when a friend and I were listing all of the bands that would be at Warped Tour that we wanted to see.

Him: Jet Lag Gemini--

Me: Yeah, definitely. (Say Relient K! You want to see Relient K!)

Him: Family Force Five, they'll be there.

Me: I've always wanted to see them in concert. Everyone says they're amazing. (Forget it, don't talk about Relient K. You'll look like an idiot)

Him: What else is there?

Me: (Don't say it. Don't say it!) I don't know. I don't think there's anyone else.

Him: Relient K will be there,

Me: (I LOVE RELIENT K, AND NOW I LOVE YOU FOR BRINGING THEM UP!!!) Oh really? I didn't know that.

Him: Yeah, but only losers and christians like them.

Me: (and now I hate your face)

I guess there's no hiding it any more. Relient K is a great band. On their myspace they list Jellyfish as a huge influence, so Drew, you now like them to (Drew is my brother, and he loves the Jellyfish album "Spilt Milk"....I like the album, too). Have I ever seen them in concert? No. Sure, they were at Warped Tour and I was planning on going to Warped Tour, but I slept in that day.

"But Taylor, couldn't you have gotten a free ticket and some sort of VIP pass?!"

Yes, I could have, but I thought I still had a week before the friggin show, and so that Saturday I decided to sleep in and then go to IHOP with my parents.

But enough about me, Relient K has a new album out! The Birds and the Bee Sides is their six album (don't quote me on that) and it's pretty cool. I bought it yesterday, and I can easily say that if I weren't using both of my hands to type I'd be giving a huge thumbs up.

Let me just warn you that it's different. It works a lot like Five Iron Frenzy's album The Cheeses of Nazareth, but since there are probably nine other people in the world who own that album (and only four remember buying it), that probably means nothing to you.

Basically the album has a bunch of acoustic covers of their older songs, some unreleased/ unfinished songs that are only a minute or two long, and then there's some tracks that are obviously the band screwing around in the recording studio. It's a lot of fun to listen to.

The only thing that scares me is that when Five Iron Frenzy put out Cheeses of Nazareth it was when they were one step away from breaking up. That album came out and then the next year their final album came out. It was sad. That was the day ska died.

Could Relient K be close to breaking up? I hope not. Stay together, guys. Stay together for the kids.

Go buy the album, support and awesome band, and listen to some of the best song writing I've heard from a christian band in a while.

Best Christian Songwriting:
-David Crowder Band
-Relient K
-Switchfoot

You notice how Casting Crowns isn't on there? Yeah, that's because they suck.

Also, just because a band doesn't say they're christian every 15 seconds, doesn't mean they aren't, so shut up.

I was graciously given a pre-release copy of Praise 24's latest CD and it is great. Listening to this second CD of theirs I have to keep reminding myself that these guys are actually apart of my church. This CD is quality stuff; from the cover artwork to the production. The 10 songs range from songs we have sung in our congregation to songs you may have never heard before. Their harmony is tight and the CD is a great balance of modern Christian pop/rock to country/gospel. This is a CD everyone can enjoy.

Every once in a while when you start up a song that you haven’t heard in a while or you listen to

Every once in a while when you start up a song that you haven’t heard in a while or you listen to a new song that is just put out, there are times when you think to yourself, “wait, did they really say that?!”. This causes you go and search for the lyrics in the CD booklet or on the internet; then you will go back and listen to the section of the song over in hopes to figure out if they are really saying what you think they are saying.

Some of these cases are, in fact, just your mind playing with you. At the same time, though, you just might be on to something. After all, they are artists and there is always the possibility that they are trying to put something unexpected out there and are covering it up with different word usage and similar sounding phrases.

In this edition of Unexpected Song Lyrics: we have a couple of Metallica issues that I want to go over, Judas Priest and Shinedown's fluffs in their latest CDs that were released, a symbolic cry for help from the biggest hair metal band ever Poison and finally, a song that has endless possibilities. What are you waiting for?

1. Enter Sandman (Live) by Metallica; from the live album “S&M.” Click here to listen.

First of all, I need to get something out of the way. Who the hell is “La Looseman”? I remember first getting this CD and wondering how the hell they were going to sound with a freaking orchestra but surprisingly after listening to the whole thing I still couldn’t get this question out of my mind. In fact, every time I listen to it today, I still think he is saying it.

When I finally got the S&M concert DVD, I went straight for that part to try and read Hetfield’s lips, and discovered that it didn’t help at all because the camera wasn’t even on him at the time… which pissed me the hell off! So then I realized that I could use something that I never use, the subtitles! So I turned them on and it came up as him saying “Let Loose, man!” Case solved.

Honestly, I can’t hear it as that as much as I try. Maybe it's just me, but it’s probably the many years of listening to it and having my original though in my mind. You know how that goes.

However though, my theory in regards to whether it is what he really saying is quite simple. The video editors had the same problem that I have when listening to it, so they had to put something that is questionably what he is saying. If you think about it though on the whole, this situation is pretty much a stereotypical thing that Hetfield does.---

“Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... *inaudible*”

Only Ozzy does it better.

2. Whiplash by Metallica; from the album “Kill 'Em All.” Click here to listen.

Do you ever see or hear something that makes you say “oh great, I bet 'so and so' will joke about this"? Well doing Whiplash, the last passage of lyrics are as follows:

"The show is through the metal is gone
It is time to hit the road
Another town Another gig
Again we will explode
Hotel rooms and motorways
Life out here is raw

*clip begins here*

But we will never stop
We will never quit
Cause we are Metallica."

I would have uploaded the whole passage, but I'm already risking getting sued by putting two clips up, lay off me!*

*This isn't totally true, it would take someone to read this article first.

Yeah, yeah yeah… so hypocritical of them to put it into a song that they will always stay the same and keep kicking hard, considering how much they have ‘changed,’ right? I dunno, I’ll hold off on any jokes on the matter until I hear the new album this Fall; but until then I will still keep the faith that can pull something out. I’m pretty hopeful that this will happen but its going to be hard to top St. Anger.

3. War by Judas Priest; from the album “Nostradamus.” Click here to listen.

After basically two years in the studio, Judas Priest has a new album out, the double set concept album on the ‘prophecies’ of Nostradamus. In this song, in reference to the topic at hand, war, it seems like Halford is saying it "brings a lot of queefs."

Maybe someone should do an anthropological survey in Iraq to see if there has been a rise in bodily gas in females. Well, that is if you classify it as a war still. Bush once called it "Mission Accomplished," but ever since then he keeps reminding us there is war going. I don’t know what to believe anymore, really. All I know is, the guy (Halford) that really knows nothing about that area of the female body MUST know something is up with war and its pressures that are put on women in the region.

4. If You Only Knew by Shinedown; from the album “The Sound of Madness.” Click here to listen.

This song is Shinedown’s first ‘love ballad,’ and lets just say they don’t leave anything out. It’s quite obvious that he is telling his “ex” he would even give up beating off to be with her again, which really confuses the hell out of me. Why would he even need to if they were back together in the first place? Was he cheating on her… on himself? This is awful.

5. Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison; from the album “Open Up and Say… Ahh!” Click here to listen.

Every once in a while, there will be a passage in a song that is completely full of symbolic messages that only the original writer themselves will understand. In this lyric of “Like the Nuns that cunts use, the womb hears,” there isn’t a right or wrong interpretation that the listener can get out of it! This simple fact makes it a wonder that it isn’t used in English classes across the nation. It’s up there with all those poems that make you go “WTF?”.

Let’s bring in some contemporary writing to classrooms and see what our future can come up with when they try and explain the meanings of a drugged up rock star! And don’t give me that shit about it being a bad influence. 100% of all the writers we were forced to read were drunk or on drugs constantly, and yet we are made to believe their works are amazing because of what reason? Because the teachers say so? Bullshit. Carrying on...

ECHOPLEX Lyrics;

Nice and high and far apart
just like they said
i built this place with broken parts
just like they said
you chip away the old version of you
you'd be surprised at what you can do
i'm safe in here
irrelevant
just like they said
my voice just echoes off these walls
you feel me breathe
i am watching you
i see it all
the many ways you can't get to me
i see it all
i see the hell you put yourself through
oh the things i could do (if i wanted to)
my voice just echoes off these walls
my voice just echoes off these walls
i don't need anything at all
my voice just echoes off these walls
and i just slowly fade away
you will never ever get to me in here...

Presto la traduzione.. ^_^
