<p>Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) vive e lavora nella sua New York da favola: popolare conduttrice radiofonica, registra i suoni di questa città e li racconta via etere nel suo programma "Street Walk". Perdutamente innamorata del suo compagno David, con cui progetta il suo futuro, la sua New York da favola viene bruscamente interrotta dalla New York reale. Aggredita assieme al fidanzato da una gang di balordi in Central Park, lui muore e lei si risveglia  dopo oltre venti giorni di coma. Sconvolta, cerca prima la propria sicurezza  nelle armi, per poi trasformarsi in giustiziera-vendicatrice (per la sicurezza degli altri?) dopo aver assistito all'ennesimo episodio di brutalità contro una persona inerme. Il tutto mentre un detective, con cui aveva stretto amicizia, sta indagando sul caso  del giustiziere.</p>
<p>Molta critica sostiene che il film non rende quanto avrebbe potuto, perché non esamina più approfonditamente la tematica della vendetta e della giustizia fai-da-te. In realtà, l'effetto è voluto, a mio parere. La protagonista è persa fra la persona che credeva di essere e quella che è diventata, si concentra più sulle azioni che sull'analisi introspettiva fine a se stessa. E' allo sbando a livello di coscienza, in lei non ci sono motivazioni ma solo un sentimento di "dover fare ciò che sto facendo". Non è un'analisi sociologica a freddo, come la critica vorrebbe, ma un ritorno all'ancestrale, quando non ci si chiedeva troppo il perché di un'azione, ma la si compiva perché l'istinto suggeriva questa azione come necessaria per la sopravvivenza. E cosa c'è di più ancestrale della vendetta, del farsi giustizia da sè? Una <strong>G</strong>iustizia sicuramente meno accademica, ma sicuramente più vera, lontano dalle sovrastrutture burocratiche di una <strong>g</strong>iustizia ormai più attenta alle procedure che al garantire sicurezza per i più deboli ed indifesi. Il regista irlandese non vuole pontificare sulla vendetta, semplicemente la mostra.</p>

<p>Instead of being depressed living in a <a href="http://compenetration.wordpress.com/2008/06/15/is-this-the-bad-movie-we-live-in-when-at-the-begining-you-can-fortell-the-end/">bad movie </a>i rather watched very good one.  <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/">V for Vendeta (2005) </a>is worth to see movie. If i did something else and I'd just have listened the voices, some parts sound like listening major TV networks lately. Terrorists attack, TV propaganda, frighten people, fear, power, prisons, ...</p>
<p>Overall, movie is very good and is a good metaphor of our current situation. Some romantic elements doesn't hurt either. Movie is directed by <a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0574625/">James McTeigue</a> and written by <a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0905152/">Andy Wachowski</a> and <a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0905154/">Larry Wachowski</a> (Matrix).  At the end movie with some quotes, slow motion visual effects and martial (knifes) arts reminds of Matrix. In good sense, of course.  <a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000204/">Natalie Portman </a> as Evey is good as always. Still like the most her play in  <a href="http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/">Leon</a> (which is amazing movie) and in <a href="http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0455957/">Goya's Ghosts</a> she played very well too.</p>
<p><a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0915989/">Hugo Weaving</a> - V. (Smith from Matrix) gave soul to V. And i liked play of Finch (<a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0001653/">Stephen Rea </a>) . i liked his play in <a href="http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0104036/">The Crying game</a>  by  <a href="http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0001403/">Neil Jordan </a> a lot. The Crying game was my fav movie for a long time. And as in The Crying game he realises and accepts at the end --or as he says in V for Vendetta: <em>"I can see it now. We are part of the same pattern. We are all trapped in. "</em></p>

<p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_for_Vendetta"><em><strong>V for Vendetta</strong></em> </a> is a ten-issue comic book series written by Alan Moore and illustrated mostly by David Lloyd, set in a dystopian future United Kingdom imagined from the 1980s about the 1990s. A mysterious anarchist named "V" works to destroy the totalitarian government, profoundly affecting the people he encounters.</p>
<p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_for_Vendetta">And this is Moore critics about film: </a></p>
<p>After reading the script, Moore remarked:</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">What ever were their dispute, I do like a movie and all its hidden messages and i also do appreciate Moore's visionary story. Or as it says in the movie:</p>

<title><![CDATA["La extraña que hay en ti" (Neil Jordan, 2007)]]></title>

Son muy felices y tal hasta que irrumpen en su vida unos desalmados que les dan una soberana paliza. El chico muere, la chica se salva. Tras ello, la chica busca venganza. ¿Verdad que os suena? Pues así es el último film hasta la fecha de nuestro irlandés favorito: típico y tópico, además de proporcionarnos un buen número de <em>déja vu</em>'s mientras lo visionamos, sobre todo si hemos visto films tan brutos como "<strong>El justiciero de la ciudad</strong>" (Michael Winner, 1974) de nuestro inolvidable Bronson.</p>
<p>Atrás quedó el Neil Jordan de propuestas tan interesantes y personales como "<strong>En compañía de lobos</strong>", "<strong>Entrevista con el vampiro</strong>" o la tan maestra como olvidada "<strong>El fin del romance</strong>", puesto que tras un breve inflexión con "<strong>Breakfast on Pluto</strong>", vuelve a otorgarnos un film poco arriesgado y de factura mediocre. Un realizador que posee una filmografía de una irregularidad patente, capaz de hacer films tan sobrios como los comentados anteriormente pero también de combinarlos con bodrios del calibre de "<strong>In dreams</strong>", primera y única aportación del irlandés para los castigados estudios Dreamworks.</p>
<p>Evidentemente, "<strong>La extraña que hay en ti</strong>" forma parte del grupo de películas poco arriesgadas, suponemos que de encargo, del realizador. Y toda esa falta de brío cinematográfico se puede ver ejemplificada sobre todo en una escena concreta (no hace falta buscar mucho más), cuando Erica (Jodie Foster) quiere abandonar la casa y salir por la puerta a la calle, pero debido al miedo atroz que ha cogido a todo tras el incidente da media vuelta y se vuelve a su casa. Esa escena, personalmente, y más teniendo a una actriz del talento de Jodie Foster, la hubiera resuelto encuadrando en un plano medio corto o incluso un primer plano, el rostro aterrorizado de la actriz mientras se va desplazando hacia la puerta, sin ningún tipo de música ni efecto sonoro, otorgando pleno protagonismo a ella, pues considero que el simple hecho de mostrar el rostro de la actriz respirando fuertemente y expresar todo ese terror interno ya hubiese funcionado a la perfección, dando muestra a la vez de cierta elegancia.</p>

<p>Neil Jordan resuelve esa escena de manera lamentable, bajo mi punto de vista, usando unos movimientos de cámara entornados totalmente injustificados, intensificando la luz en ciertos momentos para buscar una escena supuestamente terrorífica vía el efectismo y con unos efectos sonoros típicos del cine de sustos más palomitero.</p>
<p>A parte de que argumento sea entre inverosímil y previsible, el film es entretenido y cumple su función como cinta fast-food (pero solo como eso, eh?), pero siempre se demanda más de alguien como Neil Jordan. La cinta no destaca justamente tampoco por su labor de dirección, floja, poco arriesgada y con un evidente efectismo barato que estropea el conjunto. El gran problema de la cinta es el quiero y no puedo. Pretende ser una cinta chunga de venganzas al estilo de las <em>fascistoides </em>y a reivindicar "<strong>Death sentence</strong>" (James Wan, 2007) o "<strong>El fuego de la venganza</strong>" (Tony Scott, 2004) y no es más que una cinta convencional, con muy pocos recursos, nada nuevo que contar y que no sorprende a nadie.</p>

<p>El film muestra también la transformación de la protagonista principal, dejando de lado su pasado y convirtiéndose en alguien imprevisible e incontrolable, bajo su asombro. En ese aspecto la cinta peca en ser reiterativa en sus reflexiones de la verdadera justicia, de la moralidad y de cómo salir del túnel, pero ojo, sin un discurso para nada claro, ya que no es un film que se posicione a favor o en contra, simplemente NO SE MOJA y eso dice poco a su favor.</p>
<p>Neil Jordan se deja atrapar por el lado más comercial del cine, tomándose unas licencias palomiteras inadmisibles para un director de su talla y contando con un guión irregular y una historia de redención demasiado previsible y manida. Aún así, es innegable que la cinta entretiene y Jodie Foster como justiciera <em>charlesbronsoniana</em> está, como siempre, sensacional. Eso si, tiene un final de vergüenza ajena, así de claro.</p>

A lei ganhou um nome... O meu nome! Batman! Lembre-se dele quando cometer um crime...</em></strong>" (Dectetive Comics nº 27. 1939)</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Uau! Essa é a expressão que veio ao término do filme e ainda com as faces úmidas das lágrimas que não retive quase no finalzinho. Logo em seguida, já refeita da emoção, exclamei um sonora e alegre: Sensacional! O Trio - Neil Jordan, Jodie Foster e Terrence Howard - merecem ser aplaudidos de pé!</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Explicando o porque de eu ter trazido essa citação no início. Antes desse, o outro trabalho de Jodie Foster ficou a desejar - "O Plano Perfeito " (Inside Man). Alguém que atuou brilhantemente em "Nell" e "O Silêncio dos Inocentes" (The Silence of the Lambs) merecia um outro papel a sua altura. Não que eu seja contra a pequenas participações de grandes atrizes (atores). Não é isso. Para mim, Spike Lee não soube usar o potencial dela como Neil Jordan fez agora. Então, quando soube desse novo papel, fiquei com muita vontade de ver. E enquanto aguardava, lendo uma sinopse me veio a lembrança do Batman. Mas do Cavaleiro das Trevas na essência. Alguém a qual o destino pregou uma peça terrível. Marginais estupidamente tiraram deles um bem maior. De Batman, os pais. De Eric, o seu amor. Aquele que queria junto de si, eternamente.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;"><a href="http://lella.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/the-brave-one05.jpg">Eric Bain</a> (Jodie Foster) tem um programa numa Rádio FM, "Andarilha das Ruas": "<em>Eu caminho pela cidade. Me queixo e lamento, mas caminho. Eu ando, observo e escuto. E sou testemunha de toda beleza e feiúra que está desaparecendo de nossa amada cidade.</em>" Ela é alguém que ama Nova Iorque. Que não gostaria de que esquecessem as histórias dessa metrópole. Num saudosismo romântico. Mesmo ciente de que também existe um lado violento por essas ruas, até então caminha sem medo. Até o dia onde brutalmente assassinam seu noivo, e a deixam em coma por semanas.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">O noivo, <a href="http://lella.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/the-brave-one01.jpg">Dr. David Kirmani</a> (Naveen Andrews) é o Sayid de "Lost". Sua participação é curta, mas não fez feio. Embora em na Série de Tv ele dê um show!</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Ressalto a duração do filme, ele é longo, mas para deixar registrado que é um dos pontos positivos dessa história. Por acompanharmos todo esse mergulho que Eric faz dentro de si mesma com brilho nos olhos  sem nenhuma pressa. Até cita uma frase que tem pontuado em algumas personagens de outros filmes. Mas que ela não a banalizou, pelo contrário, tal qual em "Closer - Perto Demais" como também em "<a href="http://lella.wordpress.com/2008/03/09/elsa-e-fred-um-amor-de-paixao-elsa-y-fred/">Elsa e Fred - Um Amor de Paixão</a>", emociona. Creio que pelo primeiro muitos já sabem qual é frase, mas quem ainda não viu o segundo, não perca o filme é lindo! Então, a frase que também emociona dita por Eric Bain é "<strong><em>Olá, Estranha!</em></strong>". Alguns de nós após ultrapassar um momento em que parece que retiraram o nosso chão, nos pegamos a pensar de onde veio essa força interior que nos faz seguir adiante. E é diante do espelho que ficamos, ou melhor, que somos apresentado a essa outra pessoa que reside em nós e até então a desconhecíamos.</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Por conta dessa tragédia, aos poucos, vai entrando em seu caminho o <a href="http://lella.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/the-brave-one.jpg">Detetive Mercer</a> (Terrence Howard). Um policial íntegro. Alguém que se ressente um pouco por não fazer nada fora da lei. Mesmo sendo tão minucioso nas investigações sabe que com dinheiro os criminosos terão advogados que os livrem de serem punidos. Eu amei a participação desse ator em "<a href="http://lella.wordpress.com/2008/03/27/o-som-do-coracao-august-rush/">O Som do Coração</a>" (August Rush) e estou vibrando por terem dado a ele esse papel. Excelente atuação! Numa química perfeita com Jodie Foster. Outro que também se encara no espelho. E que descobre por conta dessa amizade que também tem um outro eu que desconhecia. Além de tudo, ele é um <a href="http://lella.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/terrence-howard.jpg">gato</a>!</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Como citei, em nenhum momento perdemos a atenção do filme. E confesso que no finalzinho me peguei querendo que ele, o Detetive Mercer, desacelerasse o carro. O final me fez pensar: "Isso é mesmo um filme americano?" Para alguém que nos brinda com um, por exemplo, "<a href="http://lella.wordpress.com/2008/03/16/cafe-da-manha-em-plutao-breakfast-on-pluto/">Café da Manhã em Plutão</a>", não poderia ser tão diferente trazendo essa brava e valente, e de muita sensibilidade, personagem feminina: Eric Blain. Grata, Neil Jordan! Por esse belo presente!</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#003300;">Além de toda uma NY noturna, destaco também a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8B1ai25lUo&#38;feature">trilha sonora</a>. Como também, a atuação dos demais personagens. Enfim, dou nota máxima em tudo!</span></p>

    Much has been written and said about <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001403/">Neil Jordan</a>’s <em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104036/">The Crying Game</a></em> since its debut in 1992. Most people seem to recall it as “the movie with the chick who was really a dude.” Let me say now that yes, there is a character, Dil (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001109/">Jaye Davidson</a>), who is a very attractive girl on the outside but is, biologically speaking, most definitely male. Let me also say that THIS IS NOT THE ONLY REASON TO SEE THIS MOVIE. <em>The Crying Game</em> is a story of love, suspense, intrigue and violence set in Britain and Ireland primarily concerning the life of Fergus, a.k.a. Jimmy (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001653/">Stephen Rea</a>), a repentant IRA soldier looking for answers. The fact that his girlfriend has a penis is no small thing (har, har), but it’s not the only thing either.<br />
     Neil Jordan (<em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110148/">Interview With the Vampire</a></em>, <em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476964/">The Brave One</a></em>) has built a career on exploring marginalized identities, whether it’s the transvestite hairdresser in <em>The Crying Game</em>, the morally conflicted vampire in <em>Interview With the Vampire</em>, or the righteous vigilante in the new <em>The Brave One</em>. Fergus is such a character. We see him first as a dedicated member of the IRA, assigned to watch over Jody (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001845/">Forrest Whitaker</a>), a British soldier held captive. Over a few days, he befriends Jody, displaying his truly kind nature. A thrilling sequence of events gives Fergus the sudden opportunity, and sad, urgent motivation, to disappear and sever all ties to the IRA. He moves to London, changes his name to “Jimmy,” and encounters Dil, a beautiful nightclub singer/hairdresser and one-time lover to Jody. Jimmy pursues Dil and falls in love with her, only to find that she hold some serious secrets. Jimmy has secrets of his own, and his past with the IRA comes back to haunt him in the form of the vicious and brutal Jude (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001669/">Miranda Richardson</a>.)<br />
    It is difficult to categorize this film. It is, I suppose, a thriller, but certainly not of the same family as <em><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093409/">Lethal Weapon</a></em>. It is a romance, but one so tragically doomed as to be of Shakespearean proportions. The drama is thick, but Jordan controls the tone and keeps the acting from becoming melodrama. Stephen Rea’s performance brings to mind a sort of Irish <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphrey_bogart">Humphrey Bogart</a>. He tells lies in a way that would fool a polygraph; he seems to believe his own lies, or at least he doesn’t care that he’s lying. Slowly, though, we see him start to lose his grip on his cool demeanor as he begins to accept his love for Dil. Newcomer Jaye Davidson is nothing short of extraordinary in this role. As I watched, I found it hard to believe that he was acting at all. Forrest Whitaker is fearsome and loveable as Jody, and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000980/">Jim Broadbent</a> perfectly plays Col, the cute, wise old bartender.<br />
    Perhaps more than in any of his other films, Neil Jordan asks in <em>The Crying Game</em> whether one’s true nature determines one’s actions. There is a very Shakespearean quality to his storytelling; his characters try to heed the command “To thine own self be true” but how can they manage it under such extreme circumstances? When can they be honest, and what do they do when they find themselves lying? What does this mean when they hurt or try to protect those they love? All of this very serious drama and passion, mixed in with some seamlessly integrated gunfights, explosions, and even a little comedy, makes for one of the best films of the 1990s.</p>

<p align="justify">Entre Tongoy y Los Vilos se queda la cinta del director <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001403/">Neil Jordan</a>, el mismo de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110148/">Interview with the Vampire</a> y <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117039/">Michael Collins</a>, no por estar frente a una historia plana que no promete, sino que por la poquísima profundidad que se le da a sus personajes principales. Además, tengo que confesar que algo me pasa con <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000149/">Jodie Foster</a>, hay algo en sus últimos personajes, siempre sufridos y melancólicos, que no me convencen. No sé si será su, a ratos desesperante, suavísimo tono de voz o sus actuaciones, al menos para mi, sin alma, pero noto que hace mucho ella vive de un nombre que se hizo con buenas actuaciones, pero que hoy no es más que eso, sólo un nombre.<!--more--></p>
<p align="justify">La locutora radial Erica Bain (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000149/">Jodie Foster</a>) tiene una vida perfecta junto a su novio David Kirmani (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004710/">Naveen 'Lost' Andrews</a>), sin embargo, Nueva York prueba una vez más ser una ciudad violenta al convertirlos en víctimas de un brutal ataque por parte de unos <img border="0" vspace="10" align="left" width="350" src="http://dvdplay.wordpress.com/files/2008/02/brave11.jpg" hspace="10" height="304" />pandilleros que no tenían nada mejor que hacer y que además, deciden filmar su hazaña. Debido a esto y tras su recuperación, Erica no vuelve a ser la mujer de antes. Rodeada por un miedo permanente hacia lo desconocido y sin lograr reconocer las calles que pocos días antes le eran tan familiar, tendrá que enfrentarse a su nueva vida de una manera poco habitual para quien dice tener miedo. Armada y con ganas de hacer justicia con su propia mano, Erica se convierte en una justiciera, una vengadora, oculta en las sombras de la ciudad.</p>
<p align="justify">Hay algo en la actuación de Jodie Foster que no me convence y me desagrada. Me ha pasado con las últimas películas de la actriz, <a name="actress2000" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476964/" title="actress2000">The Brave One</a>, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408790/">Flightplan</a> y <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0258000/">Panic Room</a>, lista a la cual sumo <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118884/">Contact</a> de 1997 y no cuento a <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454848/">Inside Man</a> donde su actuación si me pareció interesante. No le creo a su risa, ni a su tono de voz, p<img border="0" vspace="10" align="right" width="350" src="http://dvdplay.wordpress.com/files/2008/02/brave2.jpg" hspace="10" height="234" />or ende no me logra importar lo que le pasa a sus personajes. Tal vez sea tema mio y no de la Foster, pero como decía son varias las películas en que su actuación me provoca lo mismo. Sea como sea, un gran plus de la cinta es la aparición del detective Mercer, interpretado por el cada vez más reconocido <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005024/">Terrence Howard</a>. Aunque la forma en que nos presentan su vida privada es absolutamente fallida, su aparición sirve para darle mayor peso a una historia que se vuelve insoportablemente lenta a ratos. The Brave One es una cinta regular, con una historia con potencial, pero que claramente falla dónde no debería fallar, el guión.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b>In Search of Steve Ditko</b>, directed by <i>Peter Boyd Maclean</i>, is a documentary about the elusive Spider-man co-creator and artist hosted by Jonathan Ross (find out more about him <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Ross">here</a>... I didn't know who he was) who is a big fan of Ditko and his fascination lead to this documentary.<br />
<b>What I like: </b><i> Steve Ditko</i> is a fantastic influential cartoonist who helped create some of the most recognizable characters in superhero comics.  I've always been a fan of his work but my appreciation grew as I started to delve into older cartoonists.  This movie does an excellent job of introducing <i>Ditko</i> to the world.  It features some of his most memorable characters and the best part of the documentary is the interview with <i>Alan Moore</i>.  <i>Moore </i>should be interviewed in every documentary about cartoonists.  His insight into what made <i>Ditko</i> interesting was the best aspect of the film.<br />
<b>What I didn't like: </b> It's fluffy and as deep as a cat scratch.  I was expecting an actual interview with <i>Ditko</i>, who is famously reclusive and shuns interviews, but as the running time ticked away I realized that I was being cheated.  This is a good introduction to the man but for anyone aware of <i>Ditko</i>'s work, it falls short of being a must-see.</p>

<p><b>Gone Baby Gone</b>, directed by<i> Ben Affleck</i>, is another in a long line of potboiler detective stories that make it to the screen.  This one just happens to have a great cast performing at a high level and a freshman directorial effort that has everyone talking.<br />
<b>What I liked:</b>  Performances.  When you get <i>Ed Harris</i> and <i>Morgan Freeman</i> in a movie you are moving in the right direction,  The word on the street (did I just write that?) was that <i>Amy Ryan</i> and <i>Casey Affleck</i> are great in the movie and for once the street is right.  <i>Ryan </i>in particular is believable as the unfit mother.  <i>Casey</i> portrays some nuance that is rare in the lead of a detective story like this.  Based on the <i>Dennis Lehane</i> novel of the same name, <i>Ben Affleck </i>captures the people and mood of the neighborhoods where the story unfolds.  This level of detail elevates a story that is more typical than I would usually like.<br />
<b>What I didn't like: </b> While <i>Ben Affleck</i> is doing an excellent job and weaving the plot elements together in a way that unifies the film, I think that as it inches towards the climax the film's visual style goes limp.  There are too many matching singles or single/OTS sequences with long speeches.  Perhaps the novel has these talky scenes at the end, but it makes for a weaker ending.  That being said, I liked the movie a lot and it was close to adding a star.</p>

<p><b>The Brave One</b>, directed by <i>Neil Jordan</i>, the <i>Jodi Foster</i> vehicle/revenge drama about a woman whose fiance is killed when they are both beaten while walking their dog.  Foster does what any movie heroine would do, she gets a gun and becomes a vigilante, eventually tracking down the men that ruined her life.<br />
<b>What I liked: </b> Very little.  <i>Foster</i> is doing her best to pump some life into this character and the idea behind a woman whose radio show "Street Walker" is about loving New York City, fearing that same city after her life is turned upside down, is the stuff of high drama.  I like high drama.  But only when it's well done.<br />
The cinematography was good, so that's something.<br />
<b>What I didn't like:</b> This was a movie that was forced and akward in many respects.  <i>Neil Jordan</i>, a director I like, fails to keep the momentum in the film.  The scenes between <i>Foster </i>and <i>Terrance Howard </i>should be tense and stood out as a moment for the actors and filmmakers to shine.  The scenes fall flat.  As an audience member I cared about <i>Foster'</i>s character up to a point but the film was too interested in her sitting in her apartment and smoking and less interested in making me care about her.  Every time I began to get into the character we cut to a scene with <i>Howard</i>'s character chasing the case.  His character was the uninteresting center of what failed in this movie.  This movie should have been a character study and instead it felt like it was trying to blend character study with procedural.  It was a bland mixture and not a movie I would recommend.</p>

Da uno che al suo attivo ha film come <a href="http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/recensione.asp?id=12142" target="_blank">Intervista col vampiro</a>, <a href="http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/recensione.asp?id=16318" target="_blank">Non siamo angeli</a>, <a href="http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/recensione.asp?id=15228" target="_blank">La moglie del soldato</a> ti puoi aspettare molto. E <b>Neil Jordan</b> non delude. Tratto da un testo di <b>Patrick McCabe</b>, il nuovo film del regista irlandese segue le vicende del giovane irlandese (guarda caso!!!) Patrick Kitten Braden, un ragazzo che sin da piccolo all’universo maschile, preferisce i trucchi ed i vestiti femminili. L'analogia con <b>La moglie del soldato</b> salta subito agli occhi, non solo per l'ambiguità sessuale ma anche per la dolorosa questione del conflitto religioso/politico tra Irlanda e Inghilterra.<br />
Prime esperienze d'amore e ricerca della propria identità, mentre sullo sfondo passano i favolosi anni 70 e gli attentati dell'IRA diventano sempre più cruenti, per <b>Cillian Murphy</b> (ottimamente doppiato da Alessandro Quarta) che, dopo aver vestito i panni <a href="http://cinelover.wordpress.com/2007/04/27/il-vento-che-accarezza-lerba/" target="_blank">del virile combattente dell'IRA nel film di Ken Loach</a>, si misura con rossetto e cappotti leopardati. Bravissimo.<br />
<b>Liam Neeson</b>, nelle vesti del prete che stupra la perpetua e non riconosce come suo figlio <i>il frutto del peccato</i>, è l'ennesima picconata all'ipocrisia della frangia oltranzista dei cattolici.<br />

<p align="justify">À la fin du 18e siècle, <b>Louis </b>est le jeune propriétaire d'une plantation à la Nouvelle-Orléans, en Louisiane. Le destin met sur sa route <b>Lestat</b>, un vampire qui ne tarde pas à lui transmettre cette caractéristique et la vie éternelle. Ils deviendront alors des compagnons dans cette nouvelle vie, qui ressemblera pour Louis à une <b>damnation</b>. Lestat transformera en vampire une petite fille nommée <b>Claudia</b>, ce qui bouleversera leurs vies à tous les trois.</p>

<p align="justify">On trouvera de nombreuses petites différences entre le livre et son adaptation. Notons notamment que Louis pleure sa femme et son enfant dans le film à la place de<b> son frère</b> dans le livre. Alors qu'elle a autour de 11 ans dans le film, la Claudia du livre n'est censée avoir que <b>5 ans</b>. Après l'incendie du théâtre, Louis voyage avec Armand dans le livre, mais <b>seul </b>dans le film. A la fin du film, Lestat attaque le journaliste alors que c'est <b>Armand </b>qui le transformera en vampire dans un<b> autre livre</b> d'Anne Rice.</p>

Seul le troisième tome sorti en <b>1988 </b>- <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238546/" title="imdb" target="_blank">La Reine des damnés</a> </i>- a été à ce jour porté à l'écran par <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0753382/" class="external text" title="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0753382/" rel="nofollow">Michael Rymer</a> en <b>2002</b>, sans rencontrer le succès de ce premier volume.</p>

<p align="justify"><span style="font-size:10pt;color:black;font-family:Verdana;"><font size="1" color="#800000"><strong>The Brave One</strong>, da autoria de <strong>Neil Jordan</strong> e baseado num argumento e história de <strong>Roderick Taylor</strong> retrata a espiral descendente de violência e loucura de Erica Bain, uma locutora de rádio que se vê envolvida num episódio traumático quando o seu namorado é assassinado após um assalto violento. <strong>Jodie Foster</strong> tem aqui uma das melhores interpretações da sua carreira e esta é seguramente uma das melhores interpretações femininas do ano. <strong>The Brave One</strong> é essencialmente um filme sobre o medo e sobre as consequências que um episódio traumático podem provocar na sanidade mental de uma pessoa. Após recuperar do coma, que sofreu após o assalto, Erica acorda para uma nova vida na qual se sente apavorada, confusa e isolada. Como válvula de escape transforma-se numa vigilante que vagueia pelas ruas da cidade durante a noite tentando fazer justiça pelas próprias mãos. Não é um filme brilhante, nem sequer das melhores criações de <strong>Neil Jordan</strong>, mas é um retrato interessante de uma América em estado de choque após o 11 de Setembro e anestesiada pelo medo do desconhecido e daquilo que não compreende. Os críticos argumentaram que a violência excessivamente gráfica do filme lhe retirava muito do realismo mas a sua grande falha reside no seu subtil toque racista que conduz o espectador.  </font></span></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>服裝靚，美術掂，對一部電影的幫助可以好大。論《教我如何不愛媽》的劇本，總是離不開散散地的造作批評，但是，出色的服裝、艷麗的化妝，原來為電影帶來與別不同的一種輕鬆調子，感覺良好，跳脫音樂、亮麗美術與靈巧剪接所構成的，是傷感與歡樂相互觸碰的一個虛擬環境，似夢迷離。</p>
<p>這樣，其實很不Neil Jordan的作品，是嗎？我看得太少，在我印象中，Neil Jordan還應停留著《The Crying Game》、《Interview with the Vampire》的沉重，但如今，看《教我如何不愛媽》，算是另一回事了。</p>
<p>還是愛爾蘭、還是英國，還有尋母、還有性別不明的青年身份，導演有心輕巧，依著章節小說的簡單筆觸，不沉不重，以靚到暈的造型去看愛爾蘭共和軍，以迷倒眾生的造型去輕談尋母奇遇，服裝在此所發揮的功能，並不是《穿Prada的惡魔》那朵錦上添花，而是近似惹人話柄的反判主義。主角 Kitty的燦爛造型與優雅姿態引導了電影的調子，輕鬆，美麗，敢作敢為，由小朋友敢於以色情文章挑戰作文老師，到一氣之下把同居密友收藏的秘密槍械掟哂落海，艷麗，作為一種對抗嚴肅時代的年青態度，姣情，也成對抗邊緣身份的一個無聲抗議。</p>
<p>兜了一圈英倫，尋找得到真實阿媽，卻只換來一個無力、無奈的突然暈倒，這一轉旅行所帶來的重大改變，其實來自Father這一個閒暇角色，由不認同到認同，由神父變回老豆，觀眾在鏡頭內見到 Kitty的冷酷旅程，暗場同步發生的卻是老父的心靈激盪。</p>
<p>交代得好嗎？導演是否太過避重就輕？作為與Kitty一同走過旅程的觀眾應該不在乎神父的告解，因為，你知道的，Kitty這個青年事到如今，一件靚衫、一個造型，比尋找到親生的父親母親都更為重要。</p>

<p><strong>Había que echarle el telón a esta serie de posts titulada “EL VAMPIRISMO EN EL CINE”</strong> (aunque como ya habéis visto, ha tratado exclusivamente sobre versiones de el <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bram_Stoker#Dr.C3.A1cula">Drácula de Stoker</a>), haciendo un breve repaso a los títulos que merecen por méritos propios, figurar en una lista de filmes representativos del género.</p>
<p><strong>No voy a remontarme a los principios del cine,</strong> aunque se hicieron películas sobre vampiros en cine mudo antes de la del Nosferatu de Murnau, pero no las he visto, y muy poco sé de ellas. Así que me ciño a las “ultimas”, o sea, a las que se han producido en las cinco décadas anteriores a nuestro presente, y que sí he visto.</p>

<p><strong> Y tendré que empezar por recomendar que echéis un vistazo (¡como no!) a las de la <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammer_Productions">Hammer</a></strong> (esas no las he visto todas), que desde el año 58, hasta finales de los 70s, produjo diversos títulos, no sólo sobre la figura de Drácula, si no sobre vampiros en general.</p>
<p align="center"><strong>Y vamos a por otras.</strong></p>

<p align="left"><strong>Imprescindible por su genialidad y por su frescura (tiene cuarenta años y el tiempo no pasa por ella), <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061655/">“El baile de los vampiros”</a>, de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000591/">Polansky</a></strong>, una comedia de terror, que incluye todos los ingredientes del género, presentándolos a través de una parodia inquietante y llena de magia. Es la primera, por fecha (producida en 1967), y por calidad, que cualquier amante del cine de vampiros debería ver.</p>

<p><strong>Unos cuantos años más tarde, ya en 1983, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001716/">Tony Scott</a>, hermano de Ridley, nos ofreció <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085701/">“El ansia”</a>, basada en la novela de Whitley Strieberm del mismo título.  Actualmente un film de culto, pero menospreciada en el momento en que se estrenó.</strong> Un planteamiento diferente sobre el Vampirismo, una estética original, y una extraordinaria banda sonora, la han hecho merecedora de pasar a la historia con el título de imprescindible.</p>
<p><strong>De 1985 son dos películas que merecen tenerse en cuenta</strong>, aunque alejadas la una de la otra en su tratamiento del tema vampírico: <strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089175/">“Noche de miedo”</a>, y <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089489/">“Lifeforce”</a>.</strong></p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089175/">“Noche de miedo”, </a>dirigida por <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0276169/">Tom Holland</a>,</strong> es un homenaje al personaje de Stoker, y al cine de vampiros en general, en clave de parodia, con ingeniosos guiños sobre todo, a las películas de la Hammer. Divertida e imaginativa, aunque no sea un título imprescindible, si lo es para pasar un buen rato. Y, aseguro que pasado el tiempo, se la mantiene en el recuerdo.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089489/">“Lifeforce”</a> la firmó <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001361/">Tobe Hooper</a>,</strong> y nos presenta a unos vampiros del espacio exterior, que son traídos a la tierra, en donde propagarán una epidemia que convertirá a los que han muerto por sus ataques, en una nueva especie, entre vampiros y muertos vivientes. <strong>El guión une varios géneros, aunque centrándose más en los de terror-ciencia ficción.</strong> Original para la época en la que se estrenó, y con unos seductores efectos especiales.  Quizás el paso del tiempo la ha perjudicado, pero aún así es una película digna de ser vista por primera vez, o revisada.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093605/">“Los viajeros de la noche"</a>, dirigida por <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000941/">Kathryn Bigelow</a>, del 87, así como <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093437/">“Jóvenes ocultos”</a>, de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001708/">Joel Schumacher</a>,</strong> del mismo año, supusieron otra vuelta de tuerca al tema vampírico. Vampiros urbanitas, pandilleros, con el punto gamberro y violento preciso para enganchar al público juvenil.  Establecieron una nueva estética, que marcaría otras producciones del género de terror de aquel tiempo. Actualmente, las dos son consideradas películas de culto.</p>

<p><strong>1994: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110148/">“Entrevista con el Vampiro”</a>, la película basada en la novela de <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Rice">Anne Rice</a>,</strong> que en 1983 se había planteado rodar Tony Scott, y cuyo proyecto le fue abortado; ofreciéndonos a cambio, “El Ansia”, que ya he comentado más arriba, fué dirigida por <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001403/">Neil Jordan</a>.  Nos engancha con su barroca puesta en escena, y con los avatares de sus vampiros protagonistas. Nada despreciable dentro del género.</p>

<p><strong>En 1996, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001675/">Robert Rodríguez </a>nos ofreció un <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116367/">“Abierto hasta el amanecer”</a>,</strong> en un garito de carretera plagado de vampiros de hoy. <strong>Original, brutal, gamberra, opresiva, gore…</strong> Sin respiro para el espectador, pero de la que se guarda el regustillo a cosa bien hecha.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120611/">"Blade", </a>de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0635759/">Stephen Norrington</a>, en 1998 es</strong> <strong>protagonizada por un vampiro de raza negra.</strong> Creado por la editorial que actualmente más triunfos está cosechando en taquilla con sus adaptaciones, <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel">"Marvel"</a>. Por primera vez vemos a un vampiro que nos mete de lleno en una película en donde la acción prima sobre el terror. Gracias a esta película y su buena acogida por el espectador, pudimos disfrutar de adaptaciones posteriores como <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120903/">"X-Men"</a> o <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0145487/">"Spider-man"</a>. El resto ya es historia.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000118/">John Carpenter</a>, en el 99, nos obsequió con <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120877/">“Vampiros”</a>,</strong> tan personal como toda su filmografía. Nuevamente un grupo en solitario se enfrenta, en este caso, al Mal representado por los chupadores de sangre. <strong>Cazadores de vampiros valientes, entrañables, socarrones,</strong> con los que te puedes integrar desde los primeros minutos de la película. Sin un gran presupuesto, como siempre, Carpenter volvió a ofrecer un producto interesante y de buena calidad.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0189998/">“La sombra del Vampiro”</a>, del 2000, nos plantea la hipotética historia de que el protagonista del “Nosferatu” de Murnau, Max Schreck, fuera realmente un vampiro</strong> contratado por el director de la película, para dotar a esta del mayor realismo posible. Concienzuda e impecable, cuenta paso a paso ese rodaje plagado de incidentes misteriosos. El buen hacer en la dirección de <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0580729/">E. Elias Merhige</a>, y la labor de los dos protagonistas, Willem Dafoe (Max Schreck), y John Malkovich (F.W. Murnau), hicieron de ella una película a tener en cuenta.</p>
<p><strong>No están en este breve repaso todas las que son</strong>. Sólo, como he dicho, las que he pensado eran las más representativas por su calidad, o por su visión sobre un género que nos seguirá dando alegrías y decepciones, porque… <strong>Los <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampiros">vampiros</a> no mueren</strong> (la industria cinematográfica se encarga de ello).</p>
<p><strong>Por el momento, guardo ajos, crucifijos y estacas</strong>, despido la serie, y espero que los amantes del cine de Vampiros la hayáis disfrutado.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Breakfast on Pluto]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/recensione.asp?id=43424">L'ultimo film</a> di Neil Jordan, datato 2005 ma chissà perchè è arrivato qui in italia dopo 2 anni di ritardo (e non saranno stati problemi di doppiaggio) e lo so io perchè è arrivato ancora più in ritardo nel mio lettore dividdi..., si iscrive in quella categoria di film come Velvet Goldmine, Studio 54 - e ce ne saranno anche altri che non ho ancora visto - ambientati a cavallo degli anni '60/'70, '70/'80, '60/'80 e quindi con una soundtrack di tutto rispetto. Se non apprezzerete il film perchè siete brutti, cattivi e antipatici almeno potrete godervi la colonna sonora, se nemmeno quella vi fa piacere che vi devo dire uscite e toccate le femmine!</p>
<p>Il protagonista del film è Patrick-Patricia-Brady-Braden-Kitten interpretato da un bellissimo <a href="http://images.google.it/imgres?imgurl=http://imstars.aufeminin.com/stars/fan/D20061031/2419_949378608_cm01g_H115808_L.jpg&#38;imgrefurl=http://www.alfemminile.com/world/stars/photos__todo%3Dzoom%26i%3D2419%26c%3D174452.html&#38;h=500&#38;w=376&#38;sz=50&#38;hl=it&#38;start=18&#38;um=1&#38;tbnid=7TrDD2XQluTcAM:&#38;tbnh=130&#38;tbnw=98&#38;prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcillian%2Bmurphy%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dit%26sa%3DN">Cillian Murphy</a>, che, mi sa, assieme a Jonathan Rhys Meyers fa parte di quella schiera di attori che oltre a darlo lo vogliono anche. Almeno ci teniamo Gael Garcia Bernal (che sta con Natalie Portman), Jake Gyllenhaal (che sta con quella rana di Reese Witherspoon) e Jude Law (che sta con qualsiasi femmina, basta che respira...vorrei far notare che io respiro ancora ecco) tiè.</p>
<p><a href="http://filmup.leonardo.it/breakfastonpluto.htm">Il film</a> comunque è incentrato sulla storia di questo ragazzo con cui la sorte è stata crudele fin dalla nascita: nato da una relazione clandestina tra un prete e la sua perpetua, non voluto e abbandonato sull'uscio di una chiesa, cresciuto in una famiglia che non lo appoggia e non lo comprende, cerca quindi di dare un senso alla propria esistenza abbandonando l'irlanda per l'inghilterra, andado a cercare la sua vera madre che è stata inghiottita dalla capitale. Di mezzo c'è la guerra, le amicizie e gli affetti, tutto visto dagli occhi ingenui, disincantati, completamente <em>sprovveduti </em>del protagonista che va avanti deciso, nonostante tutte le disavventure che gli capitano. E' la classica fiaba infantile dove è necessario affrontare un lungo viaggio, mille peripezie per arrivare a ritrovare sè stessi. Patricia troverà la sua dimensione, senza però rinunciare alla sua personalità. E' un film leggero, divertente nonostante i 129 minuti che scorrono comunque lisci. La seconda parte è meglio della prima perchè all'inizio non si capisce bene dove la pellicola voglia andare a parare, su se vuole essere un film di denuncia o semplicemente raccontare una storia, col trascorrere dei minuti, man mano che entriamo nelle vicende di Kitten anche il film trova la sua dimensione. Alcune battute ed alcune scene sono memorabili, come queste due cosine che ho messo in allegato.</p>
<p>Molto bello il parallelismo tra il personaggio di Cillian Murphy e quello di Liam Neeson: dapprima è il primo che rincorre il secondo per cercare la verità (che però gli viene negata), ma poi quando Kitten abbandona l'irlanda per ritrovare sua madre è la verità (Liam Neeson) che stavolta lo insegue. Infatti riceverà le informazioni tanto desiderate attraverso un dialogo che sa di confessione, in un poetico e magistrale scambio di ruoli, dove nel luogo della perdizione sono i peccatori a dare l'assoluzione.</p>
<p>Film bello insomma, mi aspettavo peggio ma mi son dovuta ricredere, anche oggi raccontare favole è possibile senza necessità di stregonerie varie, consigliato a chi ama i film britannici, per quelli che hanno paura di incappare in una scena omoerotica alla Almodovar non preoccupatevi, siete tutelati, niente sesso manco a vederlo col binocolo, è una favola questa, Hansel e Gretel non trombano mica. Dicevo, consigliato a chi ama la musica di quel periodo, vuol vedere qualcosa di gradevole (e anche qualcuno di gradevole) e passare una bella serata con la propria ragazza o col proprio cane in pantofole e stufa - o col proprio gatto, in vestaglia vicino al camino. E, ovviamente a chi ha apprezzato Velvet Goldmine e molto meno Studio 54 (Ryan Philippe sei figo ma questo non basta) e chi ama Wilde, perchè, in film così Wilde viene citato sempre sempre sempre! Anche i sassi hanno imparato a memoria i suoi aforismi, che fanno fare sempre un figurone.</p>

<p><!--more--> Questo mese mi è venuta in mente l'idea di eleggere il film della settimana ogni settimana, e proprio questa settimana mi trovo in stato confusionale su chi far salire sul podio con un solo scalino. Mi sono ritrovato a vedere quattro film, tutti comunque molto belli. I primi due sono film con cui sono cresciuto, in un certo senso, e rivedendoli sono rimasto un po' deluso. Non deluso perché sono brutti, ma perché mi ricordavo cose non vere.</p>

<p align="justify">Chi non ha mai visto tutti pazzi per Mary alzi la mano. No!! Pazzi!! E', se vogliamo, il primo film del filone dei film demenziali che poi ha colpito il cinema. Filone, forse, morto solo l'anno scorso.<br />
<strong>Ted, ragazzo sfigato alle superiori, conosce e si innamora di Mary, ragazza bella e perfetta, che lo invita al ballo scolastico. Però tutto la sera del ballo va storto (auahauahauh) e Mary si trasferisce in un'altra città prima di rincontrare Ted. Dopo tredici anni (mi pare) Ted si riscopre innamorato ancora di Mary, allora decide di farla cercare da un investigatore privato...E' solo l'inizio della fine, come si dice.</strong><br />
Sono cresciuto con questo film. E' un comico (molto differente dal genere commedia, attenzione) classico, che ogni appassionato del genere ha visto e rivisto. Io non lo vedevo da un po' e sinceramente l'ho (ri)trovato un po' sottotono. Ci sono alcune parti divertenti, ma per la maggior parte del film si scende quasi nella noia. Tutti i personaggi sono senza spessore, con dialoghi che sembrano scritti come da cornice alle parti genialmente divertenti (auahuaah, ma va a cagare) pensate in principio. Comunque, pensate che non lo vedevo da tempo, vero, ma ricordavo la storia e il finale. Alla prima visione sono sicuro che risulterebbe un film spassoso e divertente. Lo consiglio perché fa parte del cinema, e della sua storia contemporanea, se vogliamo (o no). Se volete qualcosa che vi faccia piangere dalle risate dall'inizio alla fine, cercate pure altrove.</p>

<p align="justify">Toy Story è uno dei primi film d'animazione in computer grafica. Non vorrei sparare cazzate dicendo che sicuramente è il primo, perché non ne sono certo. Diciamo che è uno dei primi e tagliamo la testa al toro.<br />
<strong>Woody, giocattolo sceriffo preferito da Andy, viene rimpiazzato da un nuovo giocattolo, Buzz, che è tecnologicamente più avanzato del suo essere semplicemente giocattolo. Tutto cambia, quando per incidente...</strong><br />
Qui, come ogni film Pixar, ci sarebbe da discutere per ore e ore. Alla fine della discussione si arriverebbe al punto di capire che chi lavora alla Pixar ha davvero la testa quadrata, o a forma di una lampadina. Credo che i film d'animazione Pixar siano come i primi cinque film preferiti di tutti noi e cioè impossibile da decidere quale sia per noi superiore tra tutti. Nel senso, si può dire che Toy Story abbia una grafica orrenda, con texture (le texture sono la superficie degli oggetti 3-D. L'oggetto 3-D è costruito con i poligoni, poi ricoperti dalle texture per dargli l'effetto legno, o tessuti vari, o altro) davvero che fanno cagare (normale, erano agli inizi), però non si può dire che sia un brutto film. Sì, forse si può dire che hanno fatto di meglio, ma non credo. Pensi a Nemo come personaggio, poi pensi a Woody e non sai decidere. Quindi credo che siano tutti sullo stesso piano, però possono piacere o meno a seconda della persona che li guarda. E pensi a Nemo e pensi all'amore manifestato sotto molti modi, Toy Story all'amicizia sincera, gli Incredibili alla <strong>depressione dell'individuo con il segreto</strong>. Io credo che tutti i film Pixar siano geniali. Che tutti, ripeto, siano dei gioielli che vanno visti e rivisti. Vanno capiti, studiati e amati.<br />
Con l'insieme di tutti i personaggi presenti, anche se fa poco ridere (ma spesso sorridere), Toy Story è un film d'animazione classico che va visto per forza. Non si possono sapere i film nuovi e recenti se non si hanno visti questi classici, io penso.</p>

<p align="justify">Mentre il filone dei remake è presente, presuntuoso, nel box-office contemporaneo, un altro filone è anch'esso presente. Credo che si parli troppo poco dei film tratti da romanzi, anche se ormai sono all'ordine dell'anno fiscale.<br />
<strong> Patrick è nato nel corpo sbagliato. Si fa chiamare Gattina (Kitten) e sin dai primi anni dell'adolescenza da problemi alla mamma adottiva e alla sorellastra vestendosi da donna. Vive e cresce con gli amici, in un'Irlanda che lotta per l'indipendenza. Sopporta tutto, finché non decide di partire per Londra a cercare la vera madre. Che l'avventura abbia inizio, no?</strong><br />
Questo film è stata una  sorpresa. Ne sentii parlare poco quando uscì al cinema, non ho mai visto il trailer. Ho sempre visto in giro la copertina ma non mi sono mai interessato a andarmi a leggere la trama o tentare di recuperarlo per vederlo. Beh, sono stato un cretino.  E' un film drammatico (nonostante in giro scrivono che sia una commedia) colorato e vivace. Fa sorridere, sì, ma è un film comunque che pesa di drammaticità, nonostante sprizzi idee positive e forti da tutti i pori. Murphy è bravissimo. Da' vita a un personaggio che in pochissimi sarebbero in grado di interpretare. La voce italiana è insopportabile, tant'è che quando uscirà in dvd vorrò vederlo in inglese sottotitolato.<br />
E' un film comunque lungo, e alcune volte si sente il peso di quei 135 minuti. Soprattutto nella parte finale, il film sembra finire in molte scene mentre invece continua e continua mostrando scene utili al racconto, ma che lo spettatore guarda con odio pensando che finalmente era la fine. Non che sia noioso, ma il peso del tempo lo fa sentire. Stupenda la colonna sonora, la regia è bravissima regalando scene davvero fantastiche. Ve lo consiglio, ma vi avviso che è un film dallo stile stravagante. Per pochi.</p>

<p align="justify">Questo film è stato un evento. Sapete, forse verrà candidato agli oscar come miglior film (e non nella sezione apposita 'film d'animazione'), cosa che ha solo un precedente con La bella e la bestia (che lo vinse anche, l'oscar).<br />
<strong>Remy è un topo a cui non piace rubare il cibo altrui dalla spazzatura come fa la sua colonia. Gli piace cucinare, inventare gusti nuovi unendo più ingredienti che non c'entrano molto tra loro. Tutto cambia, quando si ritrova solo, senza amici ne famiglia. Così, sceglie di aiutare un ragazzo che è più perso di lui..</strong><br />
Non vi ho voluto dire tanto. Le trame dei film le scrivo io proprio per non rovinarvi qualsiasi cosa succeda nel film o che non vi aspettate, perché so che i siti che stanno in giro per la rete scrivono spesso troppo.<br />
Dico subito che Ratatouille è un capolavoro.  La Pixar (cazzo, oggi ho detto troppe volte pixar) supera se stessa in questo film. La tecnica, se vogliamo parlare prima di lei, è perfetta. In alcuni punti pareva un film con sopra montato l'effetto speciale di un topolino che parlava. Cavolo. Ci sono alcuni paesaggi, dettagli, che fanno gridare al miracolo dell'animazione. La storia, la sceneggiatura, è da film per adulti (per la sua professionalità). La struttura mi fa pensare che i film d'animazione in computer grafica sono il futuro. Non c'è un momento lento o noioso. Non è una mitragliatrice di risate come gli altri film Pixar, ma fa ridere. Io ho quasi pianto dalle risate in una scena. Poi, mette di buon umore (nel <a href="http://ilmionomeerob.wordpress.com/il-quadernetto/">quadernetto</a>, i film contrassegnati con il segno + sono quelli che mi hanno cambiato l'umore in positivo) e da' forza per fare qualsiasi cazzata si ha in mente di fare. Guardatelo.</p>

<title><![CDATA[We're No Angels]]></title>

<p><i>We're No Angels</i> is one of those films that seems like it should do reasonably well and provide for at least moderate amounts of entertainment. With Neil Jordan - who would go on to direct <i>The Crying Game</i> - as the director and David Mamet (<i>The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Verdict</i>) supplying the writing, one would be sure to think that the pedigree for the film's creation would be promising. Add to that equation the acting talents of Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, and Demi Moore and one may be fooled into thinking that a comic goldmine is on the horizon. One would certainly be wrong for thinking that, sadly.</p>
<p><i>We're No Angels</i> was a dud upon its release and not much has changed since. Some De Niro and Mamet purists certainly hold on to this film, without a doubt, but for the rest of us average and more sane folk, this film is certainly a disappointment. <i>We're No Angels</i> bases itself strictly around the "fish out of water" ideology and frames it with religious imagery and a few bland ethical questions of its characters as it goes along. The idea here is to provide big comic laughs from Penn and De Niro, while giving the film a heart with the performance of Demi Moore and a few other supporting performers. As is typically the case in cookie-cutter comedies of this nature, a lesson is learned towards the happy ending.</p>
<p>This film follows two convicts (De Niro and Penn) as they escape from prison and attempt to make a break for the Canadian border. The two men find refuge in the church and monastery when they are mistaken for two priests. The monastery and all of the monks in it have been waiting for these two priests and the case of mistaken identity is barely given a second look, despite the fact that John C. Reilly's character notes offhandedly that the two men look "nothing like the picture." Fair enough, I guess. If blind, deaf, and dumb priests are all it takes to provide comedy gold, sign me up for the laugh train. Along the way, Ned (De Niro) develops a relationship with a townswoman, Molly (Moore) who appears to do anything for money. Molly is the typical hard-luck doubter of religion and through Ned's actions and words, she finds herself reestablishing her hardline view of religious issues and questions her perceptions. Okay.</p>
<p><i>We're No Angels</i> was loosely, loosely, loosely based on the 1955 film of the same name that starred Humphrey Bogart as one of the escaped cons. Mamet's script takes off from this notion, attempting to plunge the depths for fish out of water gags and jokes, but instead forming such a contrived and annoying script that it becomes unrecognizable as Mamet's work. Yet, somehow, it is Mamet's work. Some have given Mamet credit for understanding the dialogue between priests and getting a lot of the religious-oriented dialogue correct, but I would take issue with the over-simplification and the garbled attempts at deep religious discussion by the monks, including one particular segment when John C. Reilly's character enters and spews a mouth full of nothing towards Sean Penn's character.  Of course, critiquing nonsensical dialogue in a comedy almost seems redundant, but this is David Mamet and most people expect better.</p>
<p>Another problem here is the direction, although I found it to be more capable than many other reviewers. Neil Jordan, let's be honest here, is a pretty hit-or-miss director. While films like <i>The Crying Game</i> and <i>Mona Lisa</i> garner a lot of praise for the Irishman, there's no denying that he's done his fair share of stinkers, like <i>In Dreams</i> or <i>High Spirits</i>, which was his other attempt at comedy before <i>We're No Angels</i>. While Jordan appears to want to try his hand at comedy, he's usually not very good at it. He has the gumption, no doubt, but he lacks the style of comedic shooting that creates classic moments and funny sequences. Instead, it's just blandly directed.</p>
<p>The real problem here, however, and the real reason this ship sinks so ruthlessly to the bottom is the performances of its lead actors. Robert De Niro, one of the most overrated performers alive,  simply contorts his face a lot to attempt to dig at the laughs. He rushes lines feverishly as though he's bored and really misses the beat on any semblance of comic timing. De Niro's been more hit-or-miss than many people would like to admit and the sad truth about this often great performer is that when he misses, he really misses. <i>We're No Angels</i> is another example of a De Niro miss and is certainly a gamble for the gifted actor that did not pay off.</p>
<p>Sean Penn, on the other hand, has a more consistent pedigree despite the fact that I just find him unlikeable in a comic sense. Despite demonstrating good comedic skill in <i>Fast Times at Ridgemont High</i> and ballsy resolve in the awful <i>Shanghai Surprise</i>, Penn appears to be the stronger performer here. That's not saying much, unfortunately, as I found Penn's character to be annoying and elusive in just about every identifiable way. Yes, he's an understated character, but to be understated to the point of being imperceptible seemed to be a waste of time. Demi Moore is probably the best performer in the film, which sounds strange to say, but it's very likely true. She's feisty and angry as Molly and brings a nice energy to the film, hassling De Niro's Ned with all she's got.</p>
<p><i>We're No Angels</i> is a real bore of a comedy that misses on all levels. The writing, direction, and performances miss the beat considerably. As a comedy, it's bland. As a drama, it's incredibly tepid and ineffectual. And as a film in general, it's just rather poor. Avoid this one. See the funnier and more entertaining 1990 film <i>Nuns on the Run</i>, starring Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane, instead of <i>We're No Angels</i>.</p>

<p align="left">Does your dreams influence you? Do you believe in dreams?  Do you dream? If you answer yes at least once, maybe this will interest you... Of course, I do not speak about pipe-dreams, day-dreaming, etc. I really mean what happens when you sleep and when your Inconscient takes over and begins to talk to you. For me, it's usually images, ridding one over the other, colors and movements. Sounds are muted or inexistent in my dreams... Would you say it's a good thing to dream a mummy-like black figure comming at you with a cloack over her/his head and veil-like in dark burnt omber and blue marine? Or it's better to dream of a beautiful, dark skinned yound lady, flying among other flying creatures, mostly birds? Both happend to me. I prefer this one, for sure, even if it's kind of old - 1999-2000 I think, before I started to paint with acrylic inks and watercolors. Today, I would do it differently... Still, this blog of mine is an almost chronological presentation of some of my works, so...</p>

<p align="left">By the way, there is a superb movie called <strong>"In Dreams"</strong>, by <strong>Neil Jordan</strong>  (I think it's named after <strong>Roy Orbison</strong> song; it's really weird how songs which are almost <em>too</em> sweet gain a bizarre and sinister even quality in films. Another  classic example would be <strong>"Blue Velvet", David Lynch</strong>'s movie...) with <strong>Robert Downey Jr</strong>. and <strong>Annette Bening</strong> and Aidan Quinn, a psicho-thriller so beautifully done (image and acting and music) that becomes almost a poem... a painful to watch but enchanting poem, the essence of what an art movie should be... It stays with you a long time after you've seen it, the images are haunting and the music obsessing... My little dream is almost meek comparatively...</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Ce film date de 1984. Dès mon enfance j'en ai entendu parler, lu des critiques, vu des extraits et surtout développé un imaginaire autour des différentes affiches du film. J'essayai de deviner ce que pouvait bien être l'histoire.<br />
Une femme nue à la chevelure noire et abondante penchée au dessus d'un puit sur fond de nuit de pleine lune.<br />
Un Petit Chaperon Rouge accompagnée de loups.<br />
Un homme nu penché en arrière la bouche démesurément grande ouverte avec le museau d'un loup en train d'en sortir.<br />
Mais qu'était-ce donc ce film ?<br />
A l'époque où déjà le mythe du Loup-garou m'attirait énormément, les sorties de <i>« Le Loup Garou de Londres »</i> de John Landis (1981) et <i>« Hurlement »</i> de Joe Dante (1981) titillaient déjà énormément mon esprit.<br />
Et puis me voilà en train de participer à une émission sur le cinéma consacrée à Neil Jordan. Je saute sur l'occasion. L'auteur de <i>« Crying Game »</i> et <i>« Entretien avec un Vampire »</i> m'intéressais déjà depuis longtemps. Et le souvenir de <i>« La  Compagnie des Loups »</i> ressurgit après 23 années d'attente, de fantasmes en tous genres, et puis finalement d'oubli. Et en plus le film avait enfin été édité en Zone 2 fin 2006. Que du bonheur. DVD commandé puis reçu je visionne enfin ce film. Un pur régal. Il trône désormais fièrement à côté de celui de <i>« Hurlements »</i>.

<p class="MsoNormal"> <b><u>Synopsis :<br />
</u></b>
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rosaleen, une jeune adolescente, dort dans son lit alors que sa grande sœur tape à la porte de sa chambre fermée à clef en criant après elle. La jeune Rosaleen s’est endormie après avoir volé le rouge à lèvres de sa grande sœur et se l’être appliqué, surement pour la première fois.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">La fenêtre ouverte, la forêt s’étend au loin alors que la nuit tombe. Des hurlements de loups proviennent de la forêt. Et Rosaleen commence à rêver. Elle rêve d’une autre forêt, plus inquiétante, plus irréelle encore. Sa grande sœur marche en robe de chambre dans cette forêt. Elle croise des peluches géantes, peluches se trouvant sur le lit de Rosaleen. Puis ses peluches se mettent à bouger. Elles sont vivantes. La grande sœur cris et s'enfuit, poursuivie par des loups en meute qui finalement la tue. Rosaleen assite à l'enterrement devant l'église d'un village de contes de fées, toujours dans son rêve. Ses parents sont là. Sa grand-mère qui vit dans la forêt également. Cette grand-mère qui ne manque pas de prévenir Rosaleen qu'il faut se méfier des loups car ils sont dangereux, mais qu'ils faut encore plus se méfier des hommes aux sourcils qui se rejoignent, dans lesquels sommeillent un loup...</p>

<p>The Brave One is like the serious watered down version of The Boondock Saints, but with excellent performances. While this version of maniacal revenge isn't nearly as fun to watch, it does suck you in and for the flaws it has it does a great job at keeping your interest until the very end.</p>
<p>The story starts with Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) an independent New York radio personality who's about to get married to her fiancee David Kimani (Naveen Andrews). After a nighttime stroll in a park, they encounter three thugs. David does what any man would do and tries to stick up for his wife to be. The merciless thugs rob and beat both David and Erica senseless with a metal pipe. It is horrifying to watch, especially considering the fact one of them videotapes the entire incident on a camcorder. They repeatedly slam Erica's face into a wall, and hit David so many times with the pipe you have to cover your eyes, it is overwhelmingly sick.</p>
<p>After Erica emerges from her coma three weeks later, she must come to grasp that that love of her live, David, is dead. Jodie Foster plays with this dynamic in an unbelievably convincing fashion, showing how when fear touches someone's life to that extent, it can change you forever. You can hear it in her dialogue, something many actors would not be able to do convincingly. Erica shows some hints of gora-phobia, as leaving her apartment becomes a monumental task. Each footstep on the pavement, a stranger over her shoulder, every minute detail that she once took for granted is magnified to the nth degree. As a person she is crumbling into ashes, and must get herself together to keep her job and her sanity. So she buys a gun illegally, as she indicates she won't last the 30 days it takes her to get a permit.</p>
<p>The next thing she knows, Erica's in an impossible situation. She takes a nighttime stroll to a gas station and witnesses some crazed lover barge in the store and brutally shoot the female clerk to death. Her cell phone goes off alerting the killer that someone else is in the store, and in the act of self defense she kills the man with her newly purchased gun and flees the scene. The transformation that takes place in Erica throughout this story is a frightening one to watch. A traumatic experience as the one she went through would change anyone, but the way her character manages to bounce back is in her own words, "you have to become someone else".</p>
<p>In a brilliantly written monlogue on Erica's first day back at work, she goes on the air and speaks from the heart about what fear
