Tapi 'agak' bener kok... Beberapa bulan yll, mmm.. mungkin 1 bulan yll, saya asik-asik saja melenggang tanpa memikirkan mau tinggal dimana. Sebodo teing.. Untung saja saya punya teman, si Joni, yang sedikit resek, annoying, mana matre pulak (Huehehehe) memaksa saya untuk tinggal 1 kost-kost-an sama dia (tapi ga sekamar. CATAT, tidak sekamar). Sampai-sampai sudah di DP-in kamar untuk saya. Walaupun saya sedikit kesal sama dia (karna pada awalnya saya memang maunya tinggal di asrama putri), tapi saya sangat berterima kasih padanya. Untung saja dia sudah pake acara nge-tek (kalu di jaman kuliah, tek-tek-an bangku), kalau tidak, saya benar-benar akan jadi gelandangan. Fiuuuuh *sambil menyeka dahi*....

Ternyata apapun yang kita miliki, itu merupakan pinjaman dari Yang Maha.. Apapun itu.. (bahkan anak kandungpun bukan milik orangtuanya, hanya titipan dari Yang Maha untuk dibesarkan) apalagi harta yang bisa di ukur hanya lewat uang. Saya pernah punya segalanya. Segala yang pernah menjadi cita-cita saya sedari kecil.. Dan sekarang semua telah di ambil satu-satu dari kehidupan saya.... Tapi Yang Maha menukarnya dengan hal yang lebih baik yang tak bisa diukur dengan uang. Saya diberi pengalaman berharga yang bisa saya ambil hikmahnya, saya lebih bisa mencintai orangtua saya (karna selama ini saya selalu menghindar dari mereka), saya menjadi perempuan yang bisa lebih sabar dan pasrah, saya diberi tambahan keluarga baru yang menghiasi kehidupan saya dengan tawa, dan yang lebih penting lagi saya mempunyai sahabat-sahabat yang tak pernah lelah untuk membantu saya.

Buuuuut, today I received a letter from the bachelor's exam commission, who told me that I have gratuated!!!!!

(screams and waves hands) Weeeeeeeyhoooyoooo!

Amazing, yours truely is a happy gratuate. I gratuated the 14th of July, the independance day in France (quartorze Juillet), so I declare 14 Juli 2008 my own independance day.

Ok ok, it is not a master degree yet, but I am really happy to have finalized this bachelor's degree.

I spotted a car plate license with my birth date on Sunday, so I got my mum to buy $2 4D since I feel lucky that day. It’s probably the 3rd time I bought 4D in my entire life.

At night…

Mum: “Wah, Ah ling, you ask me buy 4D all the numbers missed 1 number le. I bought Quan Da le… Now pay me back.”

Serene: Mum, I only ask you buy $2. See la, you greedy, now you make me lost money. So I am not paying you.

Ok now hand me my saucer of milk and get it over with… so I feel bitchy, sue me! I’m sick (literally) so I can’t go to the hospital to go and see my brother. So now I’m worried to boot that I wont be able to do what I need to do. Needing a shoulder, I go seeking my new friend online…

Then I realize that despite all expectations the male species can drop lower than fish crap on the bottom of the ocean. Yip ladies and gentleman let me introduce you to the new form of dumping low blows! When you thought that it couldn’t get more cowardly than the SMS brake-up or the I just wont answer the call hints… now in this day and age we have the Face Book brake-up… a new all time low… logging on to find the person you are involved with is now listed as “not in a relationship”!!

So call me a bitch but shit there is no end to the cowards’ a man will stoop to, to stop a confrontation!! At least regardless of the crap it caused my ex husband had enough guts to face me and tell me the truth! But just maybe that proves my point… he thinks he is a woman!

Let there be at least one man out there who meets the brains and backbone part of my tall order because the tall, dark and handsome I can live without!

Tapi ini benar-benar terjadi dalam kehidupan saya di bulan ini. Semua hal saya tampung, saya terima meski saya tak tahu apakah itu yang terbaik untuk saya.

Saya berhenti untuk marah, murka, kecewa, menangis dan sejenisnya. Saya tukar dengan tawa, canda, senyum dan jalani hari ini saja.. besok-besok.. que sera-sera.

Saya mulai bersyukur atas semua karunia, terlebih-lebih lagi atas pemberian dari Yang Maha yang telah mengirimkan teman, sahabat dan keluarga yang membantu saya dalam keadaan terpuruk sekalipun. Yang saya tahu saya tak sendiri disini. 

Saya juga diberi kesempatan untuk lebih mengenal orang-orang dari berbagai macam personality yang membuat saya jadi lebih memahami saya untuk bersikap. Saya jadi lebih bersyukur saya bisa berada di tempat kerja saya yang membuat saya tak pernah merasa sendiri dan telah menganggap saya keluarga mereka.

Saya bersyukur atas sahabat-sahabat saya yang menghibur dan tak pernah lelah dan menyerah mendampingi saya.. (kan saya ini termasuk mengesalkan).

Saya kehilangan banyak dalam tahun ini.. banyak sekali. Tak pernah menyangka bahwa akan seperti ini. Yea yea.. Life doesn't always turn out the way you planned, dear... Tapi tokh.. saya mendapatkan sesuatu yang lebih dari keadaan saya. Saya mendapatkan teman-teman baru, pengalaman (please... ini benar-benar pengalaman yang ga mungkin saya lupakan), pendewasaan diri, kesabaran, dan hati yang baru..

Banyak yang saya dapat dari keterpurukan saya. Karna itu saya namai kesempatan dalam kesempitan.

En so onverwags, toe ek besluit het om op te hou soek... word ek gevind. Ek gaan geen deklerasies van liefde maak nie. Dis iets wat groei tussen twee mense wat besluit om n kans op mekaar te neem! Ek wil oop oog hier in gaan... versigtige voet by vresigtige voet. Ek is opgewonde en so bang! Die laaste twee mans wat in my lewe was het sonder om dit waarlik te bedoel, my baie seer gemaak.

Ek wil nie weer hals oor kop in iets in spring, maar ooo hel, ek wil dit n kans gee! Ek wil my, hom en ons n kans gee. Ek wil nie in my kop hou dat daar mans is wat vrouens word nie... ek wil nie vergelyk nie. Ek wil net he dinge moet gebeur op n nuwe blaai... a clean slate so te se. Om dit reg te kry moet mens op reg vergeet en vergewe... ek dink ek het dit nou uit eindelik reg gekry.

So die smile op my gesig is nie net vir die verliefdes daar buite maar ook vir die gevoel van vrede en hoop hier binne in my.

It was entitled as 1 vs. 50. Dien and me was chosen to represent the-ever-popular-and-famous block 4 of political science. Remember the P-O-Llll-S-C-I-Blk4 cheer? I really had fun hearing those. At first, I thought the game show questions would be relevant to the sponsor (ENCM), and it would be something like Who did the posting of Ten Commandments? I just thought it would be like that. Obviously, I was wrong. It would be something different and something comical to others.

The mob against the 1 was composed of different freshmen from different courses, the mob was actually 52 when it started. I was very nervous that time. I don't want to disappoint my block mates. I told Dien that we really have to reach the second question before getting eliminated. She agreed then laughed. "Nakakahiya kapag una palang tapos na tayo," she told me.  I agreed.

The brave "one" who dare to test his wits against 52 is a professor in UP Manila, also a graduate of Biochemistry in University of the Philippines. He looks like Yao Ming wearing glasses with thick lens. One of the mobs told me that he was a summa cum laude. WTF.

The first question was too easy, no one got eliminated as expected. The next set of questions got tricky and there was this one question that made the 52 mobs into 36. What is Dora the Explorer's nationality? Dien and I argued and agreed that Dora is a Spanish. "Ang itim kaya nya, she can be a mexican, and mexicans do speak spanish," a mob from the back told her co-mob. Dora is so pretentious. LOLS. And as i expected, Dora's nationality is Spanish. Thanks for my sister who insists on watching this gimikera. =)

Dien and I made it to the top 17. We won over the one. He didnt know whether Kitchie Nadal is from UP, DLSU or Ateneo. She was from LaSalle. And Dien and I answered it right. We got a 176 peso prize each. We reached the 3000 pesos money tree. I really had fun with this event specially with Dora the Explorer's nationality confusion. Remember, it is the Iskolar ng Bayan's weakness, Dora the Explorer.

When I got home, it's already 730 pm. My mom got mad at me since my dismissal is only 4pm. We argued. I silently argued with her. And she commented something that piss me off. She told me that I was just malling or nag gagala. I was so tired by that time that I got angry. She reprimanded me and took my allowaces, she told me that I have to bring lunch instead of money.

Moms do consider some laws but not the law of "Innocence Until Proven Guilty."

I am excited to the coming orientation of UP Manila Debate Circle. It's the wilingness that I have. It will be on June 30 and July 4. I don't have any plans of joining PoLiS. It's too boring for me. I hope I will be able to join the Debate Circle and the Indayog Dance Varsity.

En so is ek dinsdag terug... my dokter se oe rek en sy roep imand in om ook te kyk wat my hart klop is want sekerlik moes sy n fout maak. My luck is dit nie n vout en my hart klop tref 115... fine hospitaal toe met my die Neuroloog wag daar... ingeboek en die toetse begin! Brein scans, x-rays en bloed toetse. Almal kyk maar wat hulle kan kyk, en eers dink hulle enkefilites, toe brein flies onsteken maar nee daar is n virus in my stelsel maar nie genoeg om die monster in my kop gevoed te hou nie.

So kom dit toe nou uit dat spaning, depresie en n ou nekbeseering saam gekom het en party op my 4de rugwerwel gehou. Nou moet ek terug op al daai stront wat ek so lank gedink het ek nie meer nodig het nie, en toe nou eintlik nodig gehad het... maar so gaan ons mos aan. Die lewe staan nie stil vir n hoofpyn nie...

Aan die einde van die week het ons n restaurant oop gemaak, menus en die lot! My neef het kok gespeel, en die res van ons was waiters. Dit was n week van pure plesier… elke oggend het ons na die kafee gestap. Die ou tante het ons later by naam geken, ons het die lekkers vir die dag gekoop en dan huis waarts gestap. Ons het in die aande beurte gekry om met my oom in sy Triumph n spin gekry.

Ons het ook so op vakansies vir n week na die vakansie skool gegaan. Elke museum in Pretoria is al verken… daar was skattejagte en die slegste toebroodjies op aarde! Die laaste week was altyd by my pa spandeer… waar ek saam met Marta geleer het hoe om kooper te polish (uit my eie keuse!) ek het my verbeel dis ou antieke wat ek restoureer… ek het dit so lekker gevind om hulle te sien blink na die tyd.

Ons het na my pa se werk saam met hom gegaan, hy het n scrap yard bestuur… ons het pret tussen al die karre gehad, verbeeldings gerek tot hulle nie meer kon nie. Ons het Sparberry koeldrank gedrink en op Vrydag middag gebraai saam met al die werkers.

Vakansies was altyd propvol pret en plesier. Ek het begin wonder of Triston dit ook sal hê. Aangesien al sy niggies so veel ouer as hy is… maar toe vra sy niggie of sy die week by ons kan kom kuier! Toe Triston van sy pa af terug kom het hulle so lekker saam gespeel, puzzle gebou, klei gespeel en al daai dinge wat hy so baie geniet! So gaan die familie tradisie van kinders uitruil voort!  

Tahun ini saya merayakan ulang tahun bersama orang-orang kantor (secara setiap tahun kita ada tradisi meniup kue di ruangan boss kita) dan makan siang dipalak untuk traktir mereka. Jadi sudah pasti setiap tahun, pertama kali merayakannya bersama mereka.

Tapi kali ini, di usia 30 saya.. saya mendapat kado yang mungkin tak indah bagi sebagian orang..

Tomorrow I have to face the man I loved, the man I wanted by my side for the rest of my life. The one I wanted to grow old with, sit in sunny parks, watching our grandchildren play… I’ve never felt as empty as I do today, not even the day I stood in that cold court room, and stated the reason for my divorce compares to this. The reason is that tomorrow I have to admit that I was wrong about him. The responsible, mature, and unselfish man I thought I loved no longer exists, or never did.

It makes me feel like such a fool, I truly believed in the future I thought the two of us where building. And after that I believed the promises of a man who told me his son and his son’s needs will always come first… guess I really am a fool.

I went through my closet a while back and got rid of all the clothes I no longer wear… you know the stuff you keep because who knows, one day they might fit you again. To my horror it was 5 black bags full of junk that I know I’ll never wear or will never wear again! Why hold on to the past… if I’m ever that thin again I think I’ll deserve getting myself new clothes.

So closet kg lighter I just stopped and looked at my bedroom… what a depressing sight! I stopped living in it as the memories where to painful, it became a pack house for all the junk in the house. And right there I turned around and left the room… I couldn’t face them, couldn’t take the photos, and replace them with new happy ones. Couldn’t put all the boxes away, and make it look like a bedroom again…

So today I decided its time, I need to face them… the memories, the loss. Because no matter how hard I try to stay mad, I still miss him, not so much him as a person… but the future we had planed. Two days before his revelation we had decided to have another child… now I don’t know if that will ever be a possibility for me. And that saddens me…

But I went into that room I avoid and only enter when I can’t keep my eyes open any longer… I took off the frames… I took the new pictures and put them in there, I took the old ones… packed the away for Triston. Dusted off the old ornaments, and put them back on the shelves… I cleansed my mind and soul while doing this.

And when I was done, the room no longer held traces of him… all there was, was me and Triston. Our happy memories… fun in the parks, outings and so on. Our books fill the shelves… just us. I don’t feel sad going in there now, it feels like my bedroom, a place I can read Triston bed time stories after his bath.

So a new chapter opens, and what ever the cards hold for me… I’ll take in my stride…because, Every sixty seconds spent on being unhappy is a minutes happiness you’ll never have back

Goodbye to the royal university, I prefer being in the top university. =] But I do really want to experience a Thomasian life .. unfortunately I have dreams that I need to pursue and fulfill. I got a problem with the refund of my tuition fee in UST. They'd already remove my name in the official list of the students who will attend their classes on June 10 but they don't want to give back my tuition unless after three weeks.

Hey, UST ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT, tomorrow will be the assessment of the fees i need to pay (UP Manila Accounting Division), we're not that rich to produce another tuition fee. GIVE IT BACK, i suggest .. you do it FAST!

Yes, I am now in UP. So for all the peyups out there (UPian), I'll be in Manila. I'm so tired, I can't do anything but to subject myself to their instructions. I hate the way government universities do their enrollment, it's so complicated and tiring. Can't it be like UST? I felt bad this day since I have to do the chest x-ray, dental exam, medical-physical exam, dropping of course (UST), enrolling (UP), and psycho test .. all in one day. I now know why life is complicated .. It's BECAUSE OF INSTITUTIONS LIKE UP. But I believe that this what makes a complete UPIan, to survive in an impossible task.
