<p>In the context of Nepal, micro-irrigation, non-conventional irrigation (NIT), minor irrigation or small irrigation are almost synonyms. The report describes the historical development of micro-irrigation in Nepal, the present status, and current issues and challenges.</p>
<p>In an annex descriptions of the following technologies are presented:</p>
<ul>
<li>simple drip irrigation (SDI)</li>
<li>sprinkler / micro-sprinkler irrigation</li>
<li>low cost water storage tanks: the Sulav tank models</li>
<li>hybrid / <a href="http://www.musgroup.net">multiple use water systems</a> (MUS)</li>
</ul>
<p>Two case studies are also included:</p>
<ul>
<li>Senapuk Multiple Use Water System, Syangja</li>
<li>Chapagaun, Bohara Tar, Dhara Dole, Water Tank Study</li>
</ul>
