1 - my eye is 100% healed. The "infection" lasted about 3 days. I still think it was a burst blood vessel (but I'll be keeping those eye drops ;) )

2 - For the first time in about 2 months, I don't have any purple skin on my feet! ^^ Screw you Cork! I'm delighted I won't be training on your rough floor this weekend!

So set your minds at ease people, Siobhán is healthy.

I've also been pounding the streets of Seoul this week. It's really not a difficult city to figure out. There's tourist maps everywhere and most place-names are given in English. The one downfall of Seoul (of Korea as a whole) is the rarity of street names. None are marked on maps and very few are marked at the actual location. There are small local exceptions, where "gil" (lane) and a number is used to divide areas. So, in Insadong, you have "Insadong 5-gil" i.e. the 5th lane in Insadong. Of course, that's not much use unless you know  where to begin counting. Buildings are also problematic. They are numbered in order of completion, not by location. In Ireland, Numbers 27, 28, and 29 are all beside each other. In Korea, it's not unusual to have 26, 52, 18 or any other random combination.

Once you get over this though, it's not too bad. Important buildings are well sign-posted, that's the #1 way of finding your way around. I get lost a lot but never in a scary way. Half of the prettiest and most interesting things I've found have been by accident! I'll whip out the photos again now, beginning with two that I should have posted in the last blog about the COEX mall, but I forgot to.

<- Look at the shop I found near the COEX mall! A shop named after Gackt! His surname is Camui...maybe he owns it! I REALLY wanted to buy something there. Imagine having Gackt-brand clothes - even better than Miyavi hakama! But the clothes in the shop were ugly and expensive so I didn't buy anything....yet...

<- This was my haul of CDs and idol magazines. Probably the most beautiful picture of the trip so far.

<- This is a building with a hole in it that I found on Wednesday. Imagine being on the top part! This was the beginning of my ramble around the area where all the aristocrats used to live. The old palaces are here and it's packed with upmarket galleries and museums etc. Unfortunately it's also packed with hills. For some reason EVERY road was uphill! I nearly died from sunstroke/exhaustion/hunger/thirst because I couldn't find a damn ATM!

<- I was following directions in my guidebook which told me to "carry on until the old Joseon era watch-tower". I spent aaaaages walking and was furiously reading the book for more info. Then I looked up and it was right in front of me. I felt like such an idiot!

<-The colours didn't come out well at all. This tower is right beside the palace I was at last week, so if you go back and look at the green and red paint work on those buildings, you'll appreciate this better.

<- A normal building...that happens to have an ancient Buddhist temple on the third floor.

 <- This is the sign outside the Seoul Selection bookshop telling you the distances to various cities. The shop is crap. NO IDOL MAGAZINES! Grrr.

<- A good example of how fashion designers today are trying to modernise the hanbok. I love it, it was absolutely gorgeous.

<- I popped in and said hi to Martin's friends for a while

 <- I walked past the outside of the palace I went to last week. Seeing as how I was too blind to appreciate it then, I tried to make the most of it now. I really liked this area of Seoul. There were loads of hot policemen in fabulous uniforms!

 <-This is part of the presidential residence. Technically everywhere outside the wall you can see in the photo is a public zone. However, the place was SWARMING with police and army (including one on roller blades! I really wanted a photo!). I didn't hang around too long as I was the only civilian. I was stopped and questioned once but I did my best cute and harmless face and was let off!

<- More of the residence. It looks lovely from the outside, I wish I could go in!

<- This isn't an important place, I just thought it looked nice. I also wanted to show the police that I was a tourist and not a North Korean assassin by taking as many photos as possible!

 <- I spent the next  hours dying in the heat and finally ended up back in Insadong. Then I spent ages finding an ATM and a restaurant, but FINALLY I had lovely big dumplings in soup with a free kettle of miso soup! I treated myself to my first bottle of soju and the whole bill was about €6. Seriously. Now, about soju. The taste is similar to sake, but the level of alcohol is not. This bottle left me reeling for the best part of 4 hours! I was an idiot to drink it when I was alone in a strange city, but I wasn't expecting it to be that strong! Fortunately I managed not to hurt myself or break anything in the shops....I am a very conscientious drunk :)

<- I was trying to capture the atmosphere of Insadong at night... I half-succeeded. It's a little bit more...magical than this. Damn delicious soju!

As for tomorrow...I'm going to try a little kumdo with the Yongsae University club.

Wow. That was such a hard list to compile. But after going through my computer and seeing what songs had the most playing time.... that's what I came up with. This summer has really been about Versailles, my personal dilemma between Nightmare and UVERworld, D and L'Arc~en~ciel. I think it would be fair to mention that another person in my house has been going through her X-Japan stage and we have listened to a lot of their songs too.

Versailles has been great with their singles and two albums. NOBLE wasn't quite what I was expecting but it is still a good listen. UVERworld is one of the new artists I've tried out this summer. I'm absolutely in love with their music and I'm sorry for ignoring them for so long. Nightmare is also another artist I've been trying out and for a while, I was having a hard time choosing between them and UVERworld. That's been cleared up.

Every summer L'Arc~en~Ciel ends up on the list just because of their SMILE album. It just has a way of sneaking into the car, in the stereo, on the computer and my Zune XD. I've also been running their KISS album and DRINK IT DOWN single into the ground. I've been hooked on Miyavi since March and have at last caught up on his newer releases. I still have to go back and listen to some of his older stuff though. He was awesome before, he's still awesome now.

My favorite bands D and Dong Bang Shin Ki never fail to win my musical heart. D went major earlier this year and so far are doing great. I can't wait to get my hands on their FOLLOW ME Tour DVD. They are set to perform at a music fest? this month and have a new single in the works. Dong Bang Shin Ki or Tohoshinki as they are known in Japan went on a spree with releases earlier in the year and then sort of went silent for a bit (or I lost track of them lol ^^) But they have a new single out now so all is well. I love most of their songs, which have definitely on the love-song side but I'd wish they'd do another single along the lines of PURPLE LINE or the songs they used to produce in Korea. Oh well, so long as they keep singing, I don't mind all the love. lol

Now for the really difficult part, naming the top ten albums/single + songs of this summer. X_X I have a few ideas but narrowing it down to ten is going to be hard.

I just want to remind everyone that these lists in no way express the views of official polls. These are just my personal lists of my favorite things that I've been doing over my summer break. I'd love to hear what everyone else has been watching, reading, playing and listening to this summer as well. I encourage you to leave comments. Alright, time to go have another battle of the musicians!

but we CAN say 4 SURE that they have grown on each other and look like really good friends, they chill together a lot and if the group splits up its them 2 in a group and the other 3 together, so maybe like bffs, or brothers, at this stage they all really have WAY too much testosterone to be gay, and just to clarify, i like vague  yaoi, like jaeho, hugs, pretend/vague hand holding,  but if they were to actually kiss or anything, i'd be pretty grossed out..the only ppl allowed to do that are rockstars that are on stage, they can kiss anyone, specifically miyavi *___*

i've just mentioned myv, fti and dbsk all in one paragraph, i think i am content for the night..or morning? its 4:30 a.m. but "inspiration" hit...i'm just kidding u guys, feel more than free to tell me to GET A LIFE! >_<

p.s. another reason i like this pair is that they are both hot, i mean i swore off the bad boy thing cuz no matter how hot they are they're jerks, but wonbin has it down to a T!!! *.* AND +, he's a nice guy! ha! so there! but as we all know i like hongki..lol, hot, pretty, delicious voice, attitude, silly, playful, loud =D so boyish, like a young myv, gr8 spirit about him. and so confident, gives me courage to bee a confident teenager...or to try lol, because obviously, i would need to get away from the fantasy that is hongki and out in the real world, but its summer, gimme a break suckas ;]

konichiwa!!! Encontre una informacion muy interesante en el myspace de the Gazette casi me muero al leerlo. El 3 de Enero del 2009 todas las bandas de la pscompany haran un tour por la celebracion de su 10 aniversario se imaginan ver a the gazette, miyavi,alice nine,kagrra,kra,sug y screw juntos!!!!!!, pero que lastima que me queda tan lejos U_U pero bueno a esperar que saken un DVD del tour. Just an audience applauding....Is that it?  Yep!  There's so many of them too.  Whatever, let's just move right on with the next track.

2. Ippiki Ookami Ron

Damn, what a hard song we've been led into.  Miyavi is straining his voice on purpose and what a surprise for the 1st song.  There's a melody in the song which was pleasant to hear above the furious guitar playing.  There's somewhat of a tribal sound to it which sounds pretty darn cool too.  What a nice 1st track.

3. Eccentric Otona Byou~Kudo Gaki ver.~

Miyavi speaks a bit before the mish-mash of sound comes in.  It does sound a little like the previous song which I guess wasn't too bad.  Though the chorus is pretty catchy and in your face for sure!  I love the furious sound overall, awesome song.

4. Instrumental

Yeah, you know what, the intrumentals suck and aren't even long in the first place, I didn't really hear what was going on but I guess it was put in for aeshetic value.

5. Aa, Kanashiki Kana Yatoware no Mi no Blues

Miyavi, stop playing with your cell phone, lol.  Then some beatboxing starts up and we enter an acoustic track.  I'm surprised that this would've been on this album.  Miyavi sounds pretty good not screeching across his songs.  He's created a catchy beat with it and does his signature chuckle.  Then the chorus comes and here we are with screechy Miyavi....oh well.  Still one of the golden moment of the album.

6. Coo quack cluck -Ku Ku Ru~Oresama ver.~

A very grungy and dirty song, Coo quack cluck is a slower rock track but sounds pretty weird too.  I'm pretty sure this was the easiest song to create.  The chorus is a bit dependent on the beat and I kinda was a little turned off by it.  Still, as one of the songs that did get a PV, it was just as dark.

7. Instrumental

10 seconds of wasted time of motorcycles starting up....though it does lead to...

8. Joushou Gaidou

His strongest song off the album is in this powerhouse of a rock song.  It's like crazy but still has a great melody to it.  Miyavi sounds great in his deep voice and then he hits his anger voice and it's awesome.  Everything is blaring and just wowzers, it definitly made the instrumental before it useful too. 

9. Shikenkan Baby

Then it fades away to a more slower hard rock track.  It's got a continuous beat and even has a good instrumentation.  What really caught me off guard is the repetition of some phrases.  It's a little messy but after a few listens I got used to it.  The chorus is pretty hardcore too if you ask me.

10. Ossan Ossan Ore Nanbo

The next song is a shortie.  Still it doesn't let up on the powerful sounds and has some synths in it???  I was pretty surprised but the song was just so busy and full of stuff and I really couldn't pay attention to just one thing.  I think it's messier than "Shikenkan Baby" so watch out for the song. What's up with the ending though WTF....

11. Ashita, Tenki ni Naare ~Doshaburi ver.~

Oh wow, I like this song, it's devoid of any hard rock feelings and we're left with a happy, acoustic leveled track.  It's pretty nice to listen to after all that loudness.  It's a simple track really with piano too.  Hehehe, giddyness all over.

12. Instrumental

Dangit, not another one, I didn't really catch on with this one either luckily it's the last one of the album...I can't believe Miyavi would just have this many to begin with.

13. Tom to Jerry

Obviously an homage to the cartoon classics, Tom to Jerry was another standout track with a march-like rock arrangement.  It's a more regular rock track but it's got some great things going for it.  Miyavi actually ad-libs too which is more or less a surprise to me since I haven't heard it since "Girls, be ambitious" of last album. 

14. Requiem (Acoustic Version)

Before going solo, Miyavi was part of Due le Quartz, a visual kei band.  Miyavi decided to go acoustic with one of their songs and really, I've never heard the original.  This one was just unusual at the beginning with Miyavi just sounding off.  The beat comes in for a bit and he gets real loud, then suddenly gets quiet, it's just all over the place...ick.

What the hell, this album was definitly a step down from Gagaku, I mean for one all his best singles weren't even on this album only two made it and were remade.  POP IS DEAD and Jibun Kakumei should had its place here.  Failure not adding them.  Still a lot of the new songs were pretty good.  Too many instrumentals though icky.

It's about 2 minutes ago and I just finished watching C-ute latest PV, Edo no Temari Uta II.

I didn't really expect C-ute's new song to be like this actually. But, I like it so much, it even made me want to write something again!XD.

That's just how excited I am:p!

First of all, this PV reminds me of Miyavi's Concert Set and maybe some of his PV. I mean, that It has all of that cool Japanese vibe in it and it shows itself even more within the dance and the song, very nice indeed.

Second, I just can't resist Airi's hot and sexiness(forgive me for using this word, I just can't help it>.< and she's just only 14 years old T_T). That hairstyle, that outfit, that mini skirt, and obviously that smile:). Oohh, Thanks God for this beautiful Gift(Again, please forgive this blabbering of mine!T_T).

I think that this single is going to be another hit for C-ute after Tokkaiko Junjou, seeing the uniqueness of this song and PV and I hope my best for it to happen.

Hoy nos ha dado por el jrock y les traemos una nueva noticia de otro cantante de jrock, esta vez se trata de Miyavi el nuevo recopilatorio llamado AZN PRIDE-THIS IZ THE JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK-.
Este nuevo recopilatorio nos trae muchos de los éxitos del cantante nipón que haces pocas semanas llego a España a cantar y otras que no fueron precisamente éxitos sino canciones que solo fueron editadas en Taiwán y China para conmemorar su gira asiática.

7 SAMURAI SESSIONS -WE'RE KAVKI BOIZ- is 雅-miyavi-'s self-cover album. Sort of special. It came in First Press CD+DVD and CD Only. First press of course came with a DVD and a special subscription ticket for first dibs on trial listen for his latest album THIS IZ THE JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK. CD Only came with a poster.

I personally love this album. What they did was "re-did" certain tracks with the Kavki Boiz feel. I think it gives it more flavor to the already tasty palate.

Selfish Love~aishitekure, aishiterukara~ [6:52]

I personally love this song. I loved the original version in his Miyaviuta ~Dokusou~ album. But this new flare of Kavki Boiz spices was fantastically divine. The arrangments (done by none other than miyavi himself and maybe some small help from TYKO) was great. It's pleasing to the ears. Still purely Miyavi, but now with this hint of hip hop, jazz and overall goodies, it makes it surprisingly SPICY!

ROCK 'N' IS "NOT" DEAD [4:30]

Now, I was never a full fan of this song. It was a bit loud and a bit everywhere for me. I still enjoyed it, though. But this version... KAVKI BOIZ galore. It's calmed a bit. But with its pinches of tap dance, beat boxing, "DJ-ing" and just the overall taste of MYV's new style, it has tickled and assaulted my fancy. The jazzy flavor mixed with Hip hop does this song justice.

Ame ni Utaeba ~pichu pichu chapu chapu ran ran blues~ [3:48]

I adored this song in Miyavizm. It was quick and got your blood pumping and hips swaying. This re-arranging simply made me smile for hours. It begins slow, letting your blood simmer with the tap dancing goodness and quiet guitars. Then, in its all righteousness, it picks up volume and speed and gets you where you always wanted to go. Where everything is filled with happiness and music can never get any better.

Girls, Be ambitious [3:31]

Now, don't murder me. This song was on the list to skip when listening to any of Miyavi's singles and albums. I wasn't fond of it. I, unfortunately am still not. It's not the song or the arranging. It's just me. Of course, there are parts of the song that gets me singing along and nodding my head. These fingers do snap on ocassion. But I don't get excited to hear the song in general. But I do have to admit, this re-arranging was superb. The fresh taste of the drums and the acoustic guitar is like apples to my ears. lol

Shouji no V-ROCK!! [4:17]

I enjoy this song. I have to admit, I don't believe I have heard the original version of this song. So I cannot say if it has improved or not. But there is no doubt in my mind that it has in some way.

Ashita, Genki na Naare [4:24]

I've always loved this song. And so has the fans. I equally love the re-arranged version in this album. The addition of the piano and of course everything Kavki Boiz was tasteful. The drums also gives it a chill feeling. You feel calm and just GOOD listening to this song. It's happy and filled with sunshiney goodness.

Kimi ni Negai wo [5:33]

This song has a different feel to it here. It's a good thing. It feels so calm and serene. The acoustic guitar and the sound of the DJ's at work gives it a "sweet taste". He takes it a verse at a time. Quiet and artistically calming. It's a sweet song and it was just made sweetly juicy.

Azn Pride -This Iz the Japanese Kabuki Rock- is a greatest hits album released by Miyavi on 27 June 2008 for Taiwan and Korea. The album covers Miyavi's career following his major label debut single, "Rock no Gyakushuu/21sekikei Koushinkyoku". The album contains two original tracks, "As U R -Kimi wa Kimi no Mama de-" and "Wake Up Honey".

All lyrics written by Miyavi, all music composed by Miyavi except 3, 4, 10, 11 (Miyavi and Tyko).

Les gusses en charge de la sécurité nous ont mis en garde dès le début: "il est interdit de se lever pendant le défilé ou le showcase, si il y a un mouvement de foule, le showcase sera annulé". Hum, difficile d'expliquer cela à des hordes d'adolescentes boutonneuses qui s'apprêtent à rencontrer leur idole.

Fin du défilé, vidéo de Miyavi, entrée de Miyavi, salves d'applaudissements et de cris, le bonhomme en combinaison léopard commence à faire mumuse avec sa guitare... Et puis bizarrement des gens commencent à se lever et se dirigent vers la sortie. Comment?!! Des gens sont donc venus juste pour le défilé ??!! Je pense plutôt que la raison de leur fuite peut se résumer dans ce mot: "consternation". Le fait est que pas mal d'"emplacements" ce sont libérés; les gens du fond en ont profité pour se ravancer et quelques secondes tous les spectateurs étaient debout. Les gars en charge de la sécurité n'arrêtaient pas de crier: "Asseyez vous! Ne restez pas debout !!"... en vain.

Parlons un peu de Miyavi lui-même maintenant.

*Ses vêtements: euh, hum; je pensais qu'avec les groupes Johnny's Entertainment on touchait le fond côté costumes... grâce à Miyavi ont creuse un peu plus profond.

*Sa voix: je n'ai pas pu la discerner du bruit que produisait sa guitare... Seuls quelques hurlements se détachaient par-ci par-là.

*Ses chansons: "Are you ready to rock" en boucle... et sinon hurlements.

*Son charisme: Là rien à dire, les cris des spectateurs parlent d'eux-mêmes.

/!\ Malgré tout j'ai passé un bon moment ! La preuve: je suis restée jusqu'au bout.
