Nos complace informarles que el próximo día 14 de marzo, MANGA FILMS llevará a los cines españoles el último film del aclamado director Richard Attenborough: "CERRANDO EL CÍRCULO". Lord Richard Attenborough es el prestigioso realizador de películas tan destacadas como "Ghandi", por la cual recibió el Oscar al Mejor Director en 1983, "Chaplin" y "Grita Libertad".

Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, un piloto americano se estrella cerca de Belfast. En plena agonía, confiará un anillo a un joven para que se lo devuelva a su novia en Estados Unidos. Cincuenta años después, en 1993, un pariente de aquel joven encontrará la alianza, investigará su origen e intentará cumplir la promesa viajando a Carolina del Norte donde reside la destinataria.

Para los papeles protagonistas ha elegido a dos nombres con una extensa trayectoria en el mundo del cine. Shirlie Maclaine, ganadora del Oscar como Mejor Actriz por su interpretación en "La Fuerza del Cariño", además de haber participado en títulos como "El Apartamento" o "Irma la Dulce". Christopher Plummer, otro actor clásico del cine, protagonista de importantes películas como "Sonrisas y Lágrimas", "El hombre que pudo reinar" o "La Batalla de Inglaterra".

Completan el reparto a Misha Barton, joven actriz que saltó a la fama por su papel en la serie de éxito O.C. aunque ya había aparecido en films como "El Sexto Sentido" o "Notting Hill", Neve Campbell ("54", "Scream") y Pete Postlethwaite ("Sospechosos Habituales", "En el Nombre del Padre", "Tocando al Viento").

Sadly, our time at Sundance has come to an end. We must fly back to our humdrum lives in NYC lives, where there is little hope of walking past 30 swag-addled celebrities in 30 minutes.

We enjoyed an enchanting last night, however, at the screening of “Phoebe In Wonderland,” a true Sundance success story if ever there were, starring Elle Fanning (Dakota’s younger doppelganger sibling), Felicity Huffman and Patricia Clarkson, and written and directed by Daniel Barnz.

It sounds saccharine — “Phoebe” is about a special little outsider (Fanning) who can’t connect with her mother (Huffman) but finds understanding and safety with her magical music teacher (Clarkson) — but we loved it. It’s a fantastical tale that premiered on Monday to an audience that included Academy Award winner Jodie Foster.

We had the opportunity to speak to Barnz, Foster and Clarkson later at the Variety Magazine 10 Directors to Watch party at the Stein Erickson Lodge. Barnz told us this was his first film ever to make it into production after 10 years of writing screenplays for Foster, Mel Gibson and Leonardo DiCaprio. “I actually wrote this almost ten years ago, before Elle was even born,” Barnz said. “Felicity was our neighbor and my partner Ben gave her the script to read one day before she landed “Desperate Housewives” and she loved it.”

Barnz can now count himself even luckier because in addition to having friends like Foster, it looks like he may also have a sold movie on his hands.

“Jodie came to support me tonight and to see the finished product for herself – she is a dear friend and mentor,” he continued. “The Sundance premiere was the very first time we have screened the movie for anyone and we are now in the early stages of negotiating a sale!”

Foster visited the set during the 5-week production this summer to give Barnz some sage advice and now she gives him the highest praise.

“He wrote such a compelling and complex story when he was 25,” Foster said. “I just told Daniel to listen to his own voice and be confident. When you work with an actor under 10 you want to make sure you don’t overburden them. It’s okay to not rehearse a scene with a child actor.”

“I love this movie. The performances are real, heartfelt and intimate. I am amazed by Daniel’s maturity. It goes to show you where your heart is, even when you’re not conscious of it.”

Clarkson, who also stars in “Blind Date” at the fest with Stanley Tucci, described her character as “an eccentric and other worldly woman.”

“In essence, Elle and I are kindred spirits in the film,” Calrkson said. “Elle is wise beyond her years and when she acts, she becomes someone else. Daniel is a true, kind and generous man. I don’t say that in a sentimental way at all. He was a brilliant first-time director. He is confident and true to himself and his script!”

High praise indeed for another film nominated for the Sundance Grand Jury Prize.

Other partygoers in the log-cabin-style lodge included Stanley Tucci, Andie McDowell, Eric Balfour, Rufus Sewell and Colin Firth who mingled dined on grilled cheese sandwiches, pasta and biscotti. The temperature and celebratory atmosphere — or was it the wine? — had our faces flushed while the temperature outside dropped to a beyond frigid 8 degrees.

After cocktails at the lodge, we headed to the Giada De Laurentiis-cooked dinner at the Bon Appetit Supper Club hosted by Luke Wilson. Unfortunately, Luke’s people declined our request for an interview, but the “Henry Poole is Here” star couldn’t evade our watchful eyes. The scruffy Wilson enjoyed his cucumber and asparagus salad, pasta with a short rib ragu and mocha Neapolitan as much as we did (surveillance photos to come). Oddly enough, he dined the entire time with his back to co-star Radha Mitchell. As far as we could tell, the two never even said hello throughout the evening.

The final art-and-commerce stop of the night was a quick walk through the Boost Mobile Lounge into the Tava-sponsored One Republic concert at Tao (got that?). You have probably heard One Republic’s hit song, “Apologize,” produced by Timbaland. One person who definitely appeared to know the song is Mischa Barton, who danced away in the VIP front row with crooner Josh Groban. Barton was on her best behavior —clearly choosing water over spirits since her DUI arrest last month — while Groban happily sipped one mixed drink after another. Cheers!
