New York, 1980

Following the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan, International tensions were high and the Soviet Union had threatened to boycott the Olympic games in Lake Placid, New York. John Lennon had ben murdered in New York City. Eight U.S. servicemen were killed and five more injured in an aborted attempt to rescue Americans held hostage in Iran while the nation was reeling from high unemployment and skyrocketing interest rates. To many, these were the worst of times.

Several months before the Olympics began, twenty young men gathered on a cold day in New York. Most never would have recognized the names of these young men, which had been hand selected to represent America in a quest for the Gold Medal. You probably already know the outcome of the hockey game but you may have never heard about "The Miracle On Ice."

Twelve years before the opening ceremony of the games in Lake Placid, New York, a single mother gave birth to twin boys. Having been turned away by her parents, the 17 year old girl was left to fend for herself. She worked two jobs but no matter how hard she tried, it was simply not enough to properly care for two babies.

Out of money, out of food, and out of options, the girl made a decision to place one of the babies up for adoption with an agency in New York City. How could a mother possibly choose? It was heartbreaking but after much prayer, she made the most difficult decision any mother could face.

The baby was never more than a few moments removed from her mind but she did her best to move forward with her life and provide for the remaining twin. A few years passed and the girl was hired as receptionist for a company in New York City. from time to time, a dashing young man with a sparkle in his eyes, would deliver packages her office. Over time, the two fell in love and they eventually married. The couple worked hard to provide a quality life for their only child but they never forgot to mention the other child in their prayers.

Having excelled at his job, the compassionate young man was eventually promoted to the level of Supervisor. He was well liked by both his superiors and subordinates. The owner of the company had been given two tickets to the hockey game between the United States and the Soviet Union. As he was not a sports enthusiast, he elected to hold a drawing among his employees for the two tickets. Drawn from among 47 coworkers, the young man was handed the two tickets. He raced home to tell his son they were going to the Hockey game.

Early the next morning, the two drove towards Lake Placid for the hockey game. They stopped at a convenience store for coffee and hot chocolate. As they backed out of the parking space, a car pulled in behind them. The man stepped on the brakes but the car slid on the ice and into the side of the car behind them.

He opened the door and stepped out of the car to exchange insurance information with the other driver. After a few moments, he turned to see his stepson was seeming mesmorized by something. When he looked at the passenger of the other car, he could not believe his own eyes. It was the boy's twin brother. Yes, there truly was a miracle on ice that day, but it was no where near the Olympic venue. (Copyright 2008, all rights reserved)

I just love movie parodies. They present a lite and comical perspective to the concentrated tones an

I just love movie parodies. They present a lite and comical perspective to the concentrated tones and themes of blockbusters. Take the Scary Movie tetralogy, which generally gave a comical tone to the themes of horror films. With the fourth and final installment of Scary Movie in 2006, I thought my fill of film parodies were over. But thankfully, other productions came out with a widened array of films to spoof, which made me more excited. There was Date Movie and Epic Movie; and now, Meet the Spartans, Superhero Movie, and The Comebacks, which I viewed within the past three weeks (That's a lot of time to watch a limited number...).

I. Meet the Spartans
Meet the Spartans is a general parody of the blockbuster film, 300. It also spoofs other films like Ghost Rider, Happy Feet, Rocky Balboa, Shrek the Third, Spider-Man 3, Stomp the Yard, Transformers; and some television shows and celebrities like American Idol, America's Next Top Model, Deal or No Deal, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (Brangelina), Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, Sanjaya Malakar, and Ugly Betty. It also featured the YouTube videos, Rick Roll and the infamous "Leave Britney Alone."

As a parody of 300, its storyline is similar to 300, only shorter by an hour and with the other parodies in between. It presented King Leonidas, the main character as a homosexual. *Bheh!* At the end, it gives a musical number by the actors themselves to the beat of It's Raining Men. After the credits, it also featured footage that was not included in the final cut--mostly other celebrity impersonations being pushed down the the Pit of Death, like Ellen DeGeneres, American Idol judges, and a lot more.

Unlike in 300, there were only 13 Spartan soldiers who were able to make into Leonidas' army. They were given specific criteria which I believe, the original Spartans wouldn't meet. It was fun, seeing Spartan soldiers in a different image, getting around by skipping (obviously spoofing the way the original soldiers marched), having an obese soldier on the squad, and watching Spartans breakdance (Now really!). The dialogue was green in nature but otherwise, invoked a lot of laughter.

II. Superhero Movie
This next spoof that I saw was generally a parody of Spider-Man and other superhero movies such as Batman Begins, the X-Men trilogy, and Fantastic Four. The film was better that Meet the Spartans, as it was evidently filmed with more effort and the props didn't look unrealistic. The scenes were actually like those in Scary Movie 3(my favorite part of the tetralogy). In fact, I would consider this one as being tied-up with Scary Movie 3. The poster's concept was also derived from that of the Scary Movie series.

Superhero Movietells the story of Rick Riker (Drake Bell) aka The Dragonfly, who was bitten a genetically-altered dragonfly, thus giving him superhuman strength, the ability to scale walls unaided, and armored skin. He uses his newfound powers for good and becomes a costumed superhero (*sigh* Another superhero is born...). His archnemesis is The Hourglass/Lou Landers (Christopher McDonald), who has the ability to absorb the life-force of every living thing for his own. The two entities battle all throughout, giving Rick a hard time wooing the girl of his dreams, Jill Johnson (Sara Paxton).

I'll this for Superhero Movie: The comedy was good but the acting was bad.

III. Not Another Teen Movie
I learned that this flick was released in 2001, but I never bothered to give it a look. I was in high school by then, and I guess I didn't have any interest for parodies back then. And even after its release, I never thought of watching it because I affiliated it with the American Pie series, and frankly, I have a distaste for the said series even though it was under by favorite movie genres. But since it was like "parody week," I rented it out anyway.

I learned that Not Another Teen Movieis a parody of the teen movie genre (Obviously!). I have limited experience in this particular genre so I didn't know what films were being spoofed. This may also be the reason why I didn't find the film funny all throughout. A lot of times, it tried to invoke humor, but I just didn't laugh. I also observed that once you watch a spoof first, before the actual movies being spoofed, the parody would turn out to be an original film. So that was how I felt: I was watching a non-humorous film spoof with no idea what films were being murdered. Okay, so maybe I laughed a couple of times...but that's just it...

IV. The Comebacks
Because it was titled Sports Movie in Australia, I guess you have already figured out that this is a spoof of sports movies. Again, for my part, I unfortunately have little experience in the said genre. *sigh* But with the way the film was presented, even though you had a broad background in the sports movie genre, you still wouldn't find this flick funny. I did laugh, or should I say chuckle A BIT! It wasn't that comedic, something I expect in a spoof. It is a spoof, IT SHOULD BE FUNNY AT MOST. But since, I viewed it as an original film, I did find interest at how the film would end. But if you'll watch this flick specifically to laugh out loud, you're in for a disappointment.

*******

That's just about it. I heard of another parody, Airplane! (also known as Flying High), which was shown in 1980. The problem is, all video rental shops within my vicinity don't carry that title. Well, I just hope that I will come across it in the future. I wish they would do another Scary Movie, something as funny as the third installment. It was the best among the film series. Also, I hope filmmakers would do a spoof of the movie musical genre. You know, maybe a Phantom of Chicago who stumbles in the Moulin Rouge theater who falls in love with The Producer's daughter, only to find that she's in love with High School Musical's basketball star, whose Mamma Mia! is a prostitute, where a twist ends up in a murder along the lines of West Side Story. Uh, something like that. Oh, and in case you didn't know, another spoof is coming up on August 29: Disaster Movie.

This was and should be a blog primarily for songwriters. A place where people discuss the creative

This was and should be a blog primarily for songwriters. A place where people discuss the creative process and their inspirations. In short what fuels the artist and what product results. That being said, I've done a poor job of providing content. Unless someone decides to set my divorce blog to music or chant about my woes, this site isn't doing it's job.

I was thinking about why I had nothing coming though the "cosmic radio" during this time of upheaval. And it occurred to me that I am not what one would call an autobiographical writer. But wait-that can't be true?!?!? I was talking with Dearest last week and said, "You know, it's funny. You could take the songs about you in one column and the songs about M. in another and have one great album with a "happy" side and a "sad" side. Depending on who's listening."

Recently she referred to the subject of her own poetry. And she actually writes about stuff. (Sometimes even me: ) ) Poetry is very different than songwriting. I like hers because it rhymes. I enjoy seeing how people adapt what they want to say to rules they set. Imagine writing a song or poem without allowing yourself to use the letter "G." Dumb idea maybe. The poem would be better than the song.

But the reality is, that I can't ever sit down and write a song "about" anything. In college, I attended class with a fellow songwriter who had "feelings" and "had to get them out." There was literally no rhyme or reason to the content of her songs. As my professor rightly said, that is no more than exposing people to an emotional fart. To this day I can't recall a single one of her songs. Except they were all in the key of C.

I never know whether or not to envy the professional songsmith, who writes for commercials or the theatre who must write to fit. My friend Kevin was commissioned to write a song about ending child abuse. The intentions were there and it was a song from beginning to end, but the contrivance led to it sounding forced.

So does that mean there is no emotion or truth to the songs. I have to admit, I am a slave to the rhyme. This leads to interesting rhymes at times and also provides a framework that makes what I produce a bit more of a craft. But that being said, when you limit yourself to words that end in "-une," you may not be picking the best word. A compromise is made.

If you aren't writing "about" anything, how do know what to write about, you ask? Well you didn't ask, but I'm asking for you because perhaps you're afraid. That's where the Cosmic Radio comes in. That's right. Often times where repetitive actions occur (mowing, pacing, grocery shopping), a germ of an idea settles in. It may be a misheard lyric, a song I thought should have been done better, a sentence said offhand. It sticks in my head and must be cultivated. Often it turns into something completely different.

Case in point, this song "Miracle." My television had broken and I contemplated taking it apart and fixing it. Upon the removal of the first screws, I heard something fall inside and knew I was out of my league. I called a repairman, but for some reason I felt I had dodged a bullet. I imagined myself with parts and tubes all around and the line about the miracle lodged in my head.

The song was written about undertaking a daunting task and failing. TV repair. The lyrics themselves hold more meaning in their wider swath. It's a bit depressing and nihilistic. The song "wrote itself" in about an hour. It was an absolute joy to sing and play. It's quite possibly my favorite. M's mother came across the lyrics and showed them to her and hid them out of sight of the kids, concerned for my safety. Really now, high praise.

Grammar be damned. I'll end any sentence I want with a preposition.

Miracle

N. Robbins

I moved ahead cause I knew best
I never could be second guessed
I was not equal to the test
Now all that's left's a hopeless mess

Far too proud to say I'm lost
I've no more options to exhaust
And far to poor to pay the cost
Just look what I've become.
It's gonna take a miracle...to get back where I started from.

I am forced now to admit
That there's no way out of it
I cannot make the pieces fit
It's a god-damned piece of shit

So yeah it all went down in flames
And now I hang my head in shame
I've only got myself to blame
The damage has been done
It's gonna take a miracle to get back where I started from.

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near Tampa, Florida, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meagre possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? .......What do you see?
What are you thinking......when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ....not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ....the things that you do.
And forever is losing .............. A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding ...... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse......you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am ....... As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .....as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten......with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters ......who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen ...........with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now. .........a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty .........my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows........that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now .......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide ...... And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ......... My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ......... With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons ........have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me........to see ! I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, ......... Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children ....... My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me .......... My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ...........I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .......young of their own.
And I think of the years...... And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man.........and nature is cruel.
'Tis jest to make old age .......look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass ...... A young guy still dwells,
And now and again .......my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys.............. I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.............life over again.

I think of the years ...all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .........open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer....see........ME!!
We stand bold and say, IT'S MY LIFE LEAVE ME ALONE TO DO WATEVER, but our life desisions has a chan reaction like domino's you knock one down they all fall.
This past Friday one of the rarest and most amazing astronomical events occurred. Total solar eclips

This past Friday one of the rarest and most amazing astronomical events occurred. Total solar eclipses only happen once every few years anywhere in the world. In your lifetime, you'd be fortunate to see two in your area.

A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun and covers all but the extreme outer edge of the Sun. These eclipses are a total coincidence of nature. The sun is almost exactly 400 times larger than the moon, but the moon is almost exactly 400 times closer to Earth than the Sun.

In the first 15 seconds of the video, you can see solar prominences extending out from the surface of the Sun. The video captures totality - when the Moon momentarily completely covers the Sun.

This creates the optical illusion that allows the Moon to appear to blot out the Sun. It is one of nature's true miracles. We truly live on a remarkable planet in a remarkable universe. It's source of absolute joy and peace to recall it.

Last week's eclipse was seen only in Canada, The Arctic, Russia, Mongolia, and China. The following video was shot from Canada.

Enjoy this miracle and stay inspired!

A touch from God is something definitely worth receiving and we dare tell you that on the 8th of August 2008, thousands are going to have that experience at the forthcoming Night of Bliss with Pastor Chris at the Hershey Center, Toronto Canada.

“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness” Psalm 30:11 (KJV). These words of the psalmist readily come to mind during programs like Total Experience, Night of Bliss, Atmosphere for Miracles, and many other life changing meetings with the man of God Pastor Chris, as we see joy being restored to the lives of people through the demonstration of God’s word and His love.

An amazing testimony of the above scripture is that of 67 year old Mr. Mike Ivediezi. For 18 long years he suffered excruciating pain and anguish due to what started as a minute pain in his legs. His only comfort was in maintaining a lying position and he was reduced to crawling like a child and being moved around in a wheel chair. Mr. Ivediezi attended a meeting with the man of God Pastor Chris and the unexpected occurred. A miracle-in-the making was almost snatched from Mr. Ivediezi until the man of God Pastor Chris reminded him that he came to the meeting for a change in his condition. As you watch this testimony you’ll probably have your heart in your mouth.

Be prepared for an unforgettable experience...

That was the unmistakable power of faith at work! Did you notice his hesitance at first? But glory to God, he overcame all that and he received his miracle just by trusting God.

The love of God is just so amazing! And guess what? The same compassion and love of God radiating from the man of God during that ministration will be seen at the Night of Bliss at the Hershey Center, Toronto Canada. It’s just a couple of days away, so get ready to receive a touch too!

‘Loaves and Fishes’ Miracle Reported in Egypt
By Paul Steven Ghiringhelli
Bible teacher

'Loaves and Fishes' Miracle Reported in Egypt

By Paul Steven Ghiringhelli

Bible teacher and evangelist Marilyn Hickey's recent 10-day trip to Cairo, Egypt—described by organizers afterward as the largest gathering of Christians to ever assemble in the ancient city— included a report of something more astounding than the several hundred who claimed healing and salvation: 2,400 meals from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) apparently appeared out of thin air.

The reported incident, which if true is a miracle nearly unheard of in modern times, occurred during Hickey's citywide leaders conference in May, attended by nearly 10,000 pastors and local leaders—from curious Muslims to orthodox Coptic Christians.

According to Hickey, 77, whose ministry organized the meetings in conjunction with the Egyptian Evangelical Association, 3,500 boxed-lunches from KFC were ordered and accounted for. "There were tickets distributed for the lunches," she said. "The boxes were given out, leaving none in the room."

After the food was completely distributed, and after the crowd swelled to about 5,000, she said volunteers were astonished to return to what should've been a room of empty tables to discover 1,200 more lunches. She said after they handed out the mysterious extras, another 1,200 appeared, leaving a surplus of food and dumbfounded witnesses. Hickey's staff called it a "loaves and fishes" miracle.

"I am fully convinced that this was a supernatural occurrence," Hickey told Charisma. "It is something I have believed to see on my ministry and am overjoyed that it happened."

She said she feels confident in promoting the miracle because independent Egyptian and non-Christians sources verified the mysterious incident, which apparently occurred sans the hype and exaggeration normally associated with wild miracle claims. "It happened in such a way that [my ministry] was not at all associated with it, which left local volunteers and non-Christians marveling at what had happened."

Though the unusual miracle was one of the main highlights of her trip, Hickey said her favorite memory was of Father Samaan, a Coptic Christian who ministers to the outcasts of Cairo's slum settlement called Garbage City. Because of his work, Hickey said more than 90 percent of the poor inhabitants of Garbage City are born-again. "What Father Samaan has done there is nothing short of a miracle itself," she said. "It was humbling and inspiring to witness such an unusual place and unusual work of God."

Hickey has spread the gospel in more than 100 nations during her four decades of ministry. She often travels overseas with her daughter, Sarah Bowling, who just returned last week from ministering in Ethiopia. The two also have a TV program together—Today with Marilyn & Sarah—and they are planning a trip for India this fall.

I left my office this afternoon speechless and feeling in awe at the healing powers that lie within

I left my office this afternoon speechless and feeling in awe at the healing powers that lie within our bodies.

I worked with a client today whose shoulder has been causing so much pain that he has been unable to sleep all or part of most nights. We had been doing deep trigger point work and using a lot of cold stones, along with resisted stretching to help release tight areas.

During today's session, we found a tight numb feeling spot, worked through that, and I felt the most awesome release that I have ever felt. Once that spot was released, his body immediately took over and started to rebalance his whole shoulder girdle and neck area. After the session, he said that he felt that his shoulders had come down, and that everything felt like it was looser and more in balance.

I am continually amazed that by listening to the body, by working slowly and by applying the right pressure in the right spot at the right time, we really can free up the body to do the amazing healing work that it was built to do.

I am so honored to be able be of service to people in this way and to be given the gift of seeing and feeling these amazing miracles happen before me. I am becoming more and more firmly convinced that the more I can get out of the way, and try to be an empty vessel or hollow bone for the energy of the Universe (or God, or however you view the great creative energy that is all around us), the more I will be able to feel and the more "miracles" I will be blessed with witnessing.

Still testing. Now the video is the aspect ratio I want now (16.9.) Just a simple setting to change in Premiere Pro 1.0. Tried to convert to Microsoft AVI (not DV AVI this time) and it still will not play in Media Player Classic. Perhaps I need another codec? Oh well, we will see what happens.

[caption id="attachment_87" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Rendering (exporting) from Premiere Pro 1.0 - testing export to Microsoft AVI"][/caption]

Working on some film thoughts. Listening to Kate Rusby music.

I may try out Converio (http://pagesperso-orange.fr/gilles.bihan/converio_095.htm,) try some more with Squared 5 MPEG Streamclip, and perhaps other video converters. What NLE will I use? For now, Premiere Pro 1.0. No HD for now. Use what you have to the best of your ability. Will most likely test CBR1140 recording with the Everio to see if another method to get my files to a usable format (in this case, mpeg) will work.

Thanks for listening,

We will see what the wind brings,

God bless,

P.S. Praise God! I have been planting this blog address around in various comment boxes - YouTube, BlenderNation, Vimeo, e-mails... it may be paying off. Here is an image of some view stats for the blog:

Praise God for everything.

P.P.S. I need to tell you what MIG (Miracle In Gansu play to DVD) is, and some more info about this blog. We'll leave that till later. Till our next meeting, may God keep you.

Click here to listen to this free ThetaHealing download: Listen to your heart

Hi, this is your friend Moira Shepard with today’s Miracle Minute.

Here is a thought from Mike Dooley, the great American inspirational speaker and author:

The only way to get what you really want, is to know what you really want. And the only way to know what you really want, is to know yourself. And the only way to know yourself, is to be yourself. And the only way to be yourself is to listen to your heart.

Many of the people I work with have no idea what they want in their lives.

All they can think about is how to survive what’s going on at the moment.

It’s hard for them to imagine it’s possible for them to have what they want. It’s too far off their radar.

How can you live the life of your dreams if you’ve never dared to dream?

Would you like to know how, why and what it feels like to listen to your heart – to be yourself – to know yourself – to know what you really want? Would you like to know how free you are to do all these things now? Want to know what will happen if you do?

If you’d like all this, say “Yes” out loud right now and feel the energy flowing in through the top of your head.

Now, notice how you feel. Notice what’s different about your life in the coming week. And celebrate it!

That’s your Miracle Minute with Moira Shepard. Have a miraculous day!

* Seriously. This energetic download will only go in with your verbal permission, because we honor your free will. If you want it, say “Yes” out loud. This makes you a co-creator in the healing, giving it more depth and power.

lillkitty@wordpress is amazing seriously you can download so so so many performances from so so so many different singers! all the well known ones and the unknown ones. miracle, davichi, h7, sunny hill~
if youre going to download something though make sure to comment!!
no one even comments on my site so i know how annoying it can be.. im sure she went to a lot of work to upload all that stuff and its really awesome to be able to download just the singers you like instead of the entire show. and its high quality too. so you had better say thank you if you download anything~
i just downloaded one of Miracle's performances of "Two of Us" and i have to say theyre very adorable and i reccommend downloading this one if you like them. its from August 1st Music Bank and im sure you can find it on her site. :]
edit~ Miracle's Nam Kyu is really amazing live~ she hits all those high notes so perfectly it sounds great

Miracle's 1st single, "The Miracles of Miracle" has only two tracks. it was released in feb 2008. The first track, "니가 내것이 되갈수록" is just like their other songs :]
its cute..happy..bouncy..etc. i have to admit i like the guy parts in the song more than the girl parts. both are good though. this kind of song could be super super annoying, but they manage to pull off the cuteness and it doesnt annoy me at all. (yet xD lets see after i lsiten to it a lot lol)
i dont like the rap in this song as much as in their other songs..
the second track is just the instrumental. sorry i didnt download/upload it bc.. i cant imagine listening to this song just instrumental..
so download 니가 내것이 되갈수록 //here//
or check it out first by watching the mv //here//
