Well, it's late and I don't want to get too excited, so I settle on The Sin Eater. But, damn it, it's a commercial channel with smintervals. And, Catholicism being what it is, I can only resist temptation for so long. So I start to use the back button during the smintervals. For shame. the Sistine Chapel - Michelle in a bikini - The Black Pope - Michelle getting wasted on absinthe - my mind is a blurry of confusion as the dichotomy rages.

When I get that messed up, there's only place I'm heading for. And that's Monster Magnet, baby! The most messed up mindmeld Ever, it's the only (track 1) home for my raging psychosis when (track 2) God and the Devil are firing luminous green (track 3) crucifixes directly into my backbrain....

Definitely. (And I've engaged in some self-inflated Internet douchebaggery myself, so I ain't casting stones at the walls of my glass Modernist home. I've also taken a few cheap shots in my day. I like to think I've apologized and atoned for all of them, but that just isn't true. For example, how does one apologize to Michelle Trachtenberg? Is there a phone number, or does one need to go through Lohan? Honestly, though, I can't get past The Key thing. I just can't.)

Is Ultimate Gossip Girl Summit panelist Richard Lawson/LOLCait delightful and generally quite a benevolent presence on the Inter-nets whose work everyone should read, ESPESH the TV recaps?

Duh, obvi.

I think the most interesting thing about the latest incarnation of Gawker is that its infamous and highly successful founder and editor-in-chief, Nick Denton, makes a point of highlighting photography and art that readers might enjoy. His recommendations seem to come from an entirely benign place, as in, he genuinely thinks this stuff is beautiful or interesting or intelligent or funny or thought-provoking.

Perhaps this is an extension of one of Denton's most obvious talents: the ability to pinpoint artistic talent. His writers are uniformly gifted, or at least well-trained and well-practiced enough to come off as gifted. What I'm saying is, the guy's got a good eye.

Check out the site he featured today, Web Urbanist, and its delightful examples of Steampunk (you'll see). Super-cool, and I wouldn't have known anything about it if Denton hadn't pointed it out.

According to Wikipedia, the softcore porn TV series Love Street  shot an episode at Notre Dame High School, which is very surprising as schools are usually pretty choosy about what productions can and cannot film on campus.

Acho que é muito difícil alguma série conseguir viver sem uma renovação de elenco, afinal, alguns personagens cansam e também novos personagens podem agradar, trazer nova histórias e acrescentar muito à uma série.

Abaixo irei citar algumas novidades e boatos sobre algumas séries.

Desperate Housewives: Bem, essa notícia que eu irei postar até pode ser bem velha, mas, como eu nunca postei ela aqui no blog...

Segundo alguns sites pelo mundo, a cantora e atriz nas horas vagas, Beyoncé, poderá participar da 5ª temporada de “Desperate Housewives”. E, desta vez não é boato, ou um mal entendido como foi com o Beckham e o Robbie Williams, os agentes da cantora afirmaram que eles estão em negociação com a produção da série e que o acordo ainda não foi fechado porque eles esperam um papel maior para a moça. Beyoncé seria o novo mistério da temporada? Dúvido. Na verdade aposto no Ken (Gale Harold) será o senhor mistery da temporada, ótimas fontes me asseguram isso.

Gossip Girl: Depois da finale decepcionante, GG precisa arranjar novos personagens urgentemente! Mas, até agora só foi divulgado um único personagem! E, ainda por cima, um personagem sem grande importância, pelo menos aparentemente. Esse personagem será o chefe de um emprego nas férias que o Dan irá arranjar.

Tenho mais algumas notícias em relação a essa série, algumas ótimas, mas outra nem tanto. Amos as boas primeiro. Alguém além de mim achou que a “S” não combina com o Dan? Se mais alguém achou, ótimo, pois nessa nova temporada não está prevista uma volta para eles, acho que até pode rolar uns revivals, mas, nada de mais. Outra ótima notícia é que Blair e Chuck passaram a ser o centro da série - Parece que os roteiristas de GG sabem ouvir os fãs, não? - Outra spoiler, é em relação ao Nate, parece que eles embarcará em um novo romance, mas não é com Serena, e nem Blair, eu aposto na Jenny.

Agora a notícia ruim. Os produtores da série ainda não confirmaram se Michelle Trachtenberg estará na segunda temporada. Pelo-amor-de-Deus!

Samantha Who?: Como eu disse no meu último review, essa coisa “who?” não tem como durar muito tempo, mas, antes que o “who?” de Samantha perca sua validade, os produtores da série estão tentando no prender de várias formas. E, para isso nesta nova temporada, três novos personagens estão previstos para chegar.

O primeiro é Dr. Andy Adams, ele é o único que já tem um ator escolhido, Tony Hale. Dr. Andy será o neurologista de Sam, os dois até arriscarão um affair, mas isso não dará certo. Outro personagem que irá desembarcar na série é Owen, esse sim, será o verdadeiro amor da Sam da temporada - Será que posso dar “Tchau” ao Todd? - O personagem é descrito com o galã, o cara arrasa quarteirão e conquistador. E, por fim, teremos “Dude”, o personagem sem nome, já que “Dude” só quer dizer “cara” em inglês. Com toda certeza, mais um com amnésia na série.

Sarah Connor Chronicles: Com certeza “Sarah Connor” terá várias aquisições nessa temporada, mas, até agora só fui divulgado uma. A vocalista da banda “Garbage”, Shirley Manson, irá entrar na série para interpretar a presidente de uma grande empresa de tecnologia, chamada Catherine Weaver. Será Catherine a nova Andy Goode? Ou será ela uma aliada da Sarah?

Kristin Veitch of E! recently answered some fan queries regarding Gossip Girl on the E! website. Here it is, quoted verbatim:

Wendell in New Orleans: I’ve heard conflicting reports about Michelle Trachtenberg being on the new season of Gossip Girl. Do you know if she’ll be back?
I’m told there has been a little back-and-forth but that so far, M.T. has not been asked back for season two. Michelle herself said: “[Josh Schwartz] has told everyone that everyone is coming back and that it’s going to be like a crazy, wild cast of a million people, so I’d love to, I think it’d be great fun. It’s a character I’ve just thoroughly enjoyed…and pretty sexy.” Schwartz-love, bring her back so I can practice my Tae-Bo kicks at the screen! Wouldn’t be as much fun without someone to boil our blood.

Silas in Tacoma, Wash.: Have you heard this rumor about CW president Dawn Ostroff leaving her job? What does this mean for my fave shows like Gossip Girl?
According to my inside source at the network, there is some truth to the rumor. There have apparently been some talks with potential replacements, and the scuttlebutt is that Ostroff is looking for a new gig. Apparently, one way or another, regime change at the CW is likely to happen sooner rather than later. As for Gossip Girl, fear not. There isn’t a chance in Hades any new prez would kill that show.

Marcus in Miami: Any word on Gossip Girl next season?
Hope you are sitting down for this and have a paper bag to breathe into because I’m hearing the future is not looking good for Dan and Serena. Gaaahhh! I know, I know, come here and I’ll hold you. Sources tell me that in season two, Dan and Serena will be up and down and all around and everywhere except happy coupledom. The crazy-good news, though? Bluck or Chair or whatever you want to call them are so on. Apparently, the producers have noticed the crazy-good chemistry that lies within that naughty-by-nature duo, and there’ll be much more of them ahead. I’m actually told they will be “the couple” moving forward. (Holler if you’re happy in the comments! I’ll meet you there.)

Sarah in Anacortes, Wash.: OMG! Will Serena hook up with Nate?!
In the season premiere, we’ll see that there is a lady in Nate’s life, and she’s all kinds of trouble, and she’s…not Serena. (Or Blair!) More on that in the next Watch With Kristin Show. I’m also hearing there’ll be some new characters next season. They’re casting for the season premiere as we speak, and Dan has a summer job working for a Norman Mailer type.

Anyway, Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina) attended a Chanel Concept Boutique Party last May 29.

Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) also talked to Skymag and here's what the sexy Briton has to say regarding the series and stuff:

--- "The lunches are great. You can choose from a chicken or fish dish with salad, there's old-fashioned lemonade to drink and between scenes, nibbles are handed out too."

--- "The girls spend more time with the stylists but the boys have to be looked after too. Chuck has a very original look. I'd wear a lot of his clothes but I'd team them differently. One of my favorite outfits was a devil costume. It was made especially and cost a thousand pounds!"

{He must have meant this. I also love Blair/Leighton's outfit}:

--- The show's sets are located at Silvercup Studios in Long Island. Ed says that, "It's like a doll's house there. You can walk from the Waldorf's living room to Ed's hotel suite (which also doubles as Serena's too, thanks to crafty decorating), then on to Nate's house."

--- On party scenes: "For the drinks, ginger ale is mixed with water to act as scotch, and only mixers are used for martini. There's no real alcohol involved."

--- On their trailers: "Mine is quite new. I've got a lovely leather recliner but my TV doesn't work so I'll be on my laptop or listen to the radio."

--- On his fellow cast members and himself: " Everyone gets on really well but we each have our own quirks. I have little rituals, like shaking my hands a bit before we start filming. Blake Lively (Serena) pretends to be from the ghetto. Chace Crawford (Nate) sings. Leighton Meester (Blair) is glued to her phone. And Penn Badgley (Dan) walks about looking cold all of the time!"

Skymag also talked to the show's set decorator, Christina Tonkin, and production designer, Loren Weeks.

--- On their jobs

Christina: I'm responsible for the look of the show when it comes to the sets --- the ones we build and the location shoots.

Loren: I design everything that's built so I work alongside Christina. I also help find different locations for each episode.

--- On the scenes they had the most fun working on

Christina: The masquerade ball was good. We worked with the wardrobe department on the colour scheme and the gowns the cast would be wearing.

Loren: The Waldorf's set --- it's really elegant. I based it on the American architect Rosario Candela, who designed lots of New York apartment blocks in the 20's and 30's.

--- On jobs that proved to be particularly tricky

Christina: Creating the illusion of snow in the Christmas episode. We had three projectors above the set aimed at the walls while confetti was blown with a fan.

Loren: Building a tunnel for Taylor Momsen (Jenny) to walk through on her way to the ball. We had to add twinkling lights.

--- On their current project

Loren: We're designing a set for season two. All I can say is. it's a tall modern home for someone...
