This September "Just Stand Up" hits airwaves. The song, which was created for a Cancer Charity, will feature 15 women who have come together to support Cancer Research.

“Just Stand Up” will be available on itunes and will feature Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood.

The talented artists on the album will perform the song during the “Stand Up to Cancer” television special which will air on ABC, NBC, and CBS. All sales of the star-studded single will benefit cancer research.

Founded in 2007, Stand Up to Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.

This is pretty cool news! A whole host of female superstars will join forces to record a charity song benefiting the Stand Up to Cancer Campaign. The song "Just Stand Up" will be produced by legendary song writer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and label boss Antonio 'L.A' Reid who are working together for the first time in 20 years.

The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes on September 2 and will get its TV premiere on September 5 during the live "Just Stand Up" special, which will air simultaneously and commercial-free on CBS, ABC and NBC. According to a press release announcing the project, the song was conceived by Reid, the chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, after a meeting with the women behind the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

Pretty exciting news! It's a great way to raise money firstly but it's also a trip to see/hear all these amazing singers on one record. Doesn't happen often. Of course everyone automatically thinks of "We Are The World"...I don't believe anything can top or compare to that classic and historic record, but this is most definitely going to make waves and hopefully A LOT of money! Having Babyface and L.A Reid on board means it's all in safe hands. Good luck to those two trying to organise/control these divas!
