Three-fourths of the doctor visits resulted in drug treatment. Clinical Psychiatric News, July 1998 reported that 223 children under age 3 who enrolled in Michigan's Medicaid program before December 1996 were labeled ADHD. The author adds: "Amazingly, 57% of these children were treated with one or more psychotropic drugs including Ritalin, Prozac, Dexedrine, Aventyl and Syban. Thirty-three percent were medicated with two or more of these drugs."

Take the time to investigate the local educational system right now. Find out what your area schools are doing: Do they have a good variety of programs? What about violence and drugs? Talk with everyone in the school that you can find, teachers and administration, even other students if possible. Then determine if your child is still going to be in a sea of prejudice and hate.  I would not want my child in that kind of situation.  If there isn't a school in your area that you feel would be safe for your child investigate alternative options, such as, home schooling, or, possibly private school instruction.

Men är gränsen redan bruten, kan man gå över den lite lättare igen, senare. Det jag blev utsatt för var en textbok i manipulation. Det säger de människor jag pratat med som kan sånt. Jag var så naiv. Hon kunde bolla med mig precis som hon ville.

Idag förstår jag mekanismen bakom. Jag har fått en hel del förklarat för mig. Man tänjer gränserna lite i taget. Däremellan ångrar man sig djupt, så att den andre får mycket dåligt samvete. Därigenom är det lättare nästa gång och till slut har den andre accepterat saker i sitt förhållande som han eller hon aldrig skulle annars. I och med att det går så långsamt så märker man det inte lika mycket. En annan viktig sak är att bryta ner den andre, sedan kan man plantera in sina egna gränser. Det var precis det jag blev utsatt för. Jag fick alltid tre olika budskap om samma situation. Det var ett till mig, ett mer ärligt i dagboken, sedan ett i tex bloggen eller utåt sett.

Jag kom ihåg hur jag tänkte flera gånger: Om det här var en normal tjej, skulle jag ha dragit mig ur för länge sedan. Men de var alltid det där...att det var synd om henne, att hon inte kunde rå för det. Jag tänkte ofta att om bara jag är tillräckligt stark så går det. Jag kan vara stark för oss båda. Med den tanken blev man sedan ljugen till, det gjorde ont.

En massa konstiga saker hände i vårt förhållande. Jag fick en bok för att lättare förstå hur människor med övergrepp beter sig. En del blir promiskuösa och en del blir återhållsamma. I den vevan läste jag en chatt där hon skrev att hon brukade prostituera sig när ångesten blir för stor. Det är hårt att läsa sånt när man läser om den person man älskar. Jag frågade om det och sade att jag läst det. Hon ryckte på axlarna och sade bara att ”det var bara så hon skrev”, för att hjälpa en kompis. End of diskussion.

De större problem vi hade talade vi inte om, utan mer om följderna av dem. Hon hade ett sätt att ta in män i vårt förhållande som innan hade orsakat så mycket lidande i hennes liv. I NY skulle hon bo hos den man som hon varit otrogen mot sin fd man med. Det brukade hon göra varje år. Själva händelsen var sex år sedan och när hennes man fick reda på det, skällde hon ut honom istället för att stå för det och förklara för honom. Istället för att överhuvudtaget SE sin man. Istället låste hon in sig. Han grät på nätterna, han var förkrossad. Först förvägrade hans hustru honom sex med skilda sovrum, sedan träffade hon andra istället. Hennes svar var att stänga ut honom, precis som hon alltid gjorde. Han tog sitt liv några dagar senare. Det är en makaber historia, jag vet. Det jag var med om var bara en promille av vad han stod ut med.

Det som hände mellan oss var att hon skulle åka till NY och bo hos samma man. Fast hon ”glömde” att säga det till mig. Jag råkade komma på henne av en händelse då vi åt middag en dag innan hon skulle åka. I slutändan var det mitt fel att hon mådde så dåligt. Det var ju jag som sade att det var oacceptabelt att ha det så. Det var ju jag som då fick henne att må dåligt.

Den andra saken vi hade problem med var en man vi skulle umgås med. Vi skulle träna ihop alla tre. Det jag inte visste var att de två hade haft ett förhållande. Hon brukade suga av honom då hans fru var borta, sedan umgicks hon med de två efteråt, som om inget hade hänt. Jag tyckte det var ..ett dåligt val....men det var innan mig, så själva historien struntade jag i. Men det jag däremot inte ville acceptera, var att hon inte berättade deras historia för mig. Jag var helt utanför, och det var de två som skulle dela en hemlighet gentemot mig. Istället för att ta itu med dessa två problem var det jag som var problemet. Jag hade nämligen, precis som hennes fd man och hennes fd killar läst hennes dagbok där allt stod. Det är inget jag är stolt över, men det har jag aldrig gjort innan eller skulle göra om någonsin. Det var ett resultat av att bli totalt utstängd i ett förhållande. Tydligen var jag inte den enda som kände så.  

Där stod vi med våra konflikter. Hon trodde att hon visade mig ånger då hon försökte ta livet av sig, tror jag. Istället fick jag hela hennes ångest, för att jag inte accepterade dessa två ..”problem”. Jag var taskig som inte kunde stå ut med det. Det var ju trots allt inte hennes fel, hon ”kunde ju inte rå för det”...det var ”så hon var”, och jag skulle acceptera det.  Jag försökte acceptera det länge, men de dagliga lögnerna och tystnaden gjorde att det inte gick. Var jag omedgörlig som inte accepterade det?

Efter att dessa två saker kom fram, dessutom ganska tidigt i vårt förhållande gick det bara käpprätt utför. Jag litade inte på henne och hon gjorde sitt bästa att stänga ut mig och göra mig liten. Det gick ganska bra för henne. Hon är ett proffs med fingertoppskänsla.

Det slutade med ett mail där hon tyckte att det var onödigt för oss att ses, för det ”gav” inget. Nej, det fanns väl inget mer av mig att dränera då antar jag. Jag skrev ett hat-mail där jag gjorde slut och förklarade varför hon var ond mot mig. Hon mailade mina bekanta och även människor som hon visste att jag tagit avstånd från och varnade alla för jag ”var farlig”, sedan drog hon vidare till sin flirt i halmstad, helt oberörd. Jag fick lära mig att hantera panikångest för första gången i mitt liv och fick hjälp för att inte avsluta mitt liv.

Det är märkligt hur en del människor kan förstöra ens liv, och inte ens be om ursäkt. Inte ett ord. Men det ingår nog i den sortens personer, det är vad min terapeut säger i alla fall.

Hopefully I can persuade you all to eventually try it out.

Crisis Force is a vertical shoot em up developed by one of my favorite companies, Konami. It was released back in 1991 for Japan only. The Japan only release was probably due to the fact that the N.E.S was becoming outdated and eclipsed by the new cutting edge 16 bit machines at the time; the PC engine, the Megadrive, and the Super Nintendo.

Crisis Force featured many staples of Konami's past shooters. Staples such as 2 player co op, the use of the Konami code, and the inclusion of many standard Konami power ups that you'd come to expect from one of their shooters. Although it did include many staples of past Konami shooters, Crisis Force was definitely not just another run of the mill shooter. The ability and concept of switching between three different ship configurations during play offered both depth and a refreshing change of pace to the formula. Crisis Force offered 7 different varied stages all balanced, blended, and beautifully orchestrated with obstructions, bosses, mini bosses, power ups, and a contrasting array of endless enemies.

You have to really hold onto your ass with this game; it is one fast paced bitch. Crisis Force demands alot of attention from you. Sometimes blinking just will not seem worth it in the midst of a heated battle. You will have to keep your eyes peeled and your thumb moving, because any wrong move can be a deadly one. Although there are 3 different difficulty modes to choose from, Crisis Force can honestly be one hell bent beast of a game to play.

The power ups are pretty standard in this game. There are two different gun upgrades. One of these upgrades will improve your basic straight forward shot in rate. The other upgrade will allow you to use a wave laser. Speed up icons also exist; picking these babies up will help add speed and enhanced maneuverability to your ship. Two other icons will grant you more power then the standard icons will, for both your shot and your speed. There are also small blue icons that will need to be collected in order to unlock their powerful ability.Once enough are collected, your ship will transform into one real bad mutha of a form. In this form your ship will take on invincibility combined with the most powerful shots in the entire game for a limited amount of time. In two player mode you can also merge ships together with your friend. One player will be assume responsibility for steering, while the other, for shooting. Once the Invisibility ends, your planes will split apart, and you will become separated once again.

The controls are fairly simple. Hold down the B button to discharge a steady stream of bullets. Hit the A button while you are letting off these bullets to release a bomb or special attack, these change depending on which ship configuration you are using at the time. When you are not firing, hit the A button to change your ship configuration. There are 3 in total. Your main ship form will fire pretty powerful shots exclusively straight. The second form will allow you to fire both straight and behind. Last we have the third ship form, this form will let you fire from the front and the two sides of your ship. You will need to use and master all three of these configurations throughout this game to survive.

There is a story to this game. Just like many other shooters though, it's just there to add some motivation to finish the game. It's very typical and cliche. In the year 199X, a force of robots have descended upon Tokyo in an attempt to destroy the city, and possibly the rest of the world. The nameless protagonists are a girl and a boy who both pilot red and blue fighter ships. The story is incredibly weak, bland, and sterile. I know this is a shooter and it doesn't really have to be strong in the story telling aspect, but as a whole it just doesn't even feel like shmup developers even try that often when it comes to story. This game is no exception.

The presentation for this game is absolutely amazing. This has to be visually one of the greatest looking games on the Famicom, if not, the best. Konami really pushed the limits of the hardware here, and you can really see it. From use of multiple layers of parallax scrolling, to destruction effects, to very detailed and defined tiles and sprites, and the simple manipulation of them all, Konami really did the impossible here. However, with all of this going on, there are occasional slowdowns. Slowdowns aren't really anything too uncommon with the N.E.S library. You may even look at them in a positive light, as a moment to finally wipe the sweat from your brow. Although I would prefer the game not to have these slowdowns, I don't really mind them too much as is.

You can see that Konami also put in about roughly the same amount of effort in towards the sound and the music here as they did for the graphics. The sound effects all seem to fit in pretty well. They're your usual Konami sounds, but they all work just as fine as they have in years past. The soundtrack however, is exceptionally well done. Alot of the songs you hear will stick in your head for days. Most of them make you look forward to hearing them in the stages they reside in. There's also an option to here each track in the options menu. Not every song is exceptional though, there are a couple of songs that just don't do the rest of the soundtrack justice. Although they aren't bad as stand alone songs, some just seem like filler in comparison to the other tracks.

Overall Crisis Force is a very impressive outstanding fun game that has and will probably be overlooked as time keeps trudging forward. If not for the late release date and the exclusive regional release, this game could have been a well known legendary classic. Despite few bland exceptions, Crisis Force has all of the elements and chemistry to make up for one immaculate experience. Almost everything present here is at the top of it's game. It's hard to hate Crisis Force. Give it a try and see if you like it, chances are you probably will.

Nicht das Medium selbst (das eindeutig Zukunft hat), sondern das heutige WWW ist der Knackpunkt. Der Global-Voices-Gründer Ethan Zuckerman brachte folgenden Spruch: „Google und YouTube (sind) die Feinde eines jeden Diktators.“ Stimmt - Das Internet ist bekanntlich die beste Methode, um Menschen miteinander zu vernetzen. Untergrabung und Schwächung des Gegners durch Unterstützung der oppositionellen Kräfte ist ein bekannter Weg. Es wäre nur allzu verwunderlich, wenn diese Möglichkeit des Internets nicht genutzt werden würde. Google, YouTube und Blogger werden wohl nicht sichtbar angetastet werden - egal welche drastischen Maßnahmen auf EU-Ebene beschlossen werden.

In dieser politischen Hinsicht ist das Internet ganz offensichtlich eine angenehme Sache für „den Westen“. Aber da gibts noch was anderes. Neuerdings wird recht geschickt mit offener Meinung umgegangen. Mit dem WWW wurde dem kleinen Volk eine Spielwiese geschaffen. Hier darf kräftig Meinung ausgetauscht und mentale Vernetzung erprobt werden. Sag mir was Du denkst und ich sag Dir wer Du bist! Es ist nicht mehr wichtig, Meinungen zu verbieten, es ist viel wichtiger zu wissen, wer welche Meinung hat. Willkommen im Zeitalter der „Profilisierung“.

Freiheit? Welche Freiheit?

Unsere „Freiheit im Netz“, über die so viel geredet wird ist ein selbstherrlicher Ausdruck eines gestörten Daseinsverhältnisses. Natürlich gibt es sie, aber es ist keine menschliche und tatsächliche Freiheit. Sie ist eine Pseudo-Freiheit, die jederzeit den Bedingungen angepasst werden kann. Wir fühlen uns „frei“, weil wir das größte Problem der Freiheit nicht wirklich in die Gleichung mit hinein nehmen: den anderen Menschen - das Gegenüber. Am Eingang zum Internet lassen wir unsere menschliche Identität zurück. Was übrig bleibt, ist digitaler Autismus.

Wer auch heute noch glaubt, im Internet erlebe die Freiheit ihre Wiedergeburt, der sollte sich vor dem nächsten Internetbesuch diese zwei einfachen Fragen stellen:

- Wird es je möglich sein, anonym zu surfen?
- Wird es je möglich sein, meine Interessengebiete (als Teil meiner Privatsphäre) nicht preiszugeben?

Doch die Entwicklung geht stattdessen in die entgegengesetzte Richtung. Eine verwirrende Mischform entsteht, in der alles erlaubt, nichts jedoch unbeobachtet ist. Das wäre dann aber allerhöchstens ein Zerrbild von Freiheit.

Ist Freiheit denn überhaupt realisierbar in einem Medium, das auf "Grenzenlosigkeit" basiert? Was geschieht, wenn Freiheit auch ethische Werte mit einbezieht und nicht nur auf eigene Handlungs- und Meinungsfreiheit begrenzt wird? Stellen wir uns diese Fragen:

- Basiert dieses Gebilde "Freiheit" auf menschlicher Achtung und Toleranz oder nur auf der fehlenden Identität des Gegenüber?
- Begegne ich dem Menschen und kann ihm so den freien Raum zugestehen (also Freiheit geben) oder surfe ich blöd durch die virtuelle Welt und freue mich über die Spiegelung meiner eigenen Gedanken?
- Erlebe ich im Internet überhaupt die Andershaftigkeit des Anderen oder ist es einfach nur zu einfach über sie hinwegzuschauen?

Es gibt keine Freiheit im WWW und es kann keine geben. Und trotzdem lohnt es sich für sie zu kämpfen. Das Internet ist paradox.

Und noch ein handfestes Problem zum Schluss:

Warum werden alle neuen technologischen Entwicklungen (Handys, Kameras, Autos, Laptops, iPods, RFID-Technologie) so ausgerichtet, das sie mit Profilisierung und Geo-Positionierung zu tun haben? Und warum wollen wir sie?

Diese Frage sollte zu denken geben. Denn das "Spielchen mit dem Internet" wächst langsam über seine Grenzen hinaus. Aber dazu ausführlicher in einem der nächsten Posts.

I felt quite enlightened after watching this video, though I'm not sure I would call it hypnosis, as much as manipulation. I know it has happened to me. I would get all frustrated about something (or someone) and walk in to talk to him/her about it. Within 20 minutes I would start feeling re-assured and better so I would walk back to my desk. Then 20 minutes after that I would think, wait a minute - what just happened here? Not only did I not get my problem resolved, I was actually "made" to feel better about the bad situation I was in. Has this ever happened to you?

Maybe it's just natural charm, or maybe it's something else - I'm not sure. Some people definitly have an uncanny ability to convince others of total hogwash. After watching this video I can see more clearly now how it is they do it. Perhaps it is not intentional, perhaps they can't explain how they do it, but they do. It does seem we can be influenced (unconsiously?)

I suppose if you are unaware you are doing this - it is somewhat acceptable as natural charisma, but if you know you are doing this to someone, actively manipulating them to get what you want is it really ethical? and is there anyway to defend against it.

I suppose, when I think about it, this type of thing is everywhere, mostly in advertising and is similar to propaganda. In the end You'll have to decide for yourself./P
