In verità, Veghte non racconta alcuna novità di rilievo: XP andrà in pensione dal 30 giugno, Vista resta a farci compagnia, chi desidera ancora Windows 5 dovrà accontentarsi di downgradare dalle versioni Business e Ultimate di Vista oppure dovrà procurarsi uno degli ultimi esemplari di computer forniti di licenza OEM XP. Queste ultime resteranno in circolazione fino all'inizio del 2009, termine entro il quale spariranno.

Confermata la sopravvivenza di Windows XP Home nei computer ultraportatili e a basso costo che potranno montare XP fino al 2010 senza problemi. Il supporto al sistema operativo, giunto da poco al Service Pack 3, proseguirà inoltre fino al 2014.

Sul piano delle prestazioni, poi, il Service Pack 1 ha fatto segnare un deciso balzo in avanti per Vista: "Uno degli investimenti chiave fatto in Vista è stata la creazione di un vasto sistema di telemetria ( ? ) - racconta Veghte - che ci consente di raccogliere informazioni anonime su come gli utenti utilizzano Windows, che tipo di esperienza vivono e quali sono le vere applicazioni e i veri dispositivi che girano sui veri computer".

Spiandoci infatti, queste informazioni hanno permesso a Microsoft di migliorare aspetti cruciali del suo sistema operativo, come la velocità di copia dei file o quella di decompressione di un archivio. A beneficiarne sono stati anche i partner di Microsoft stessa, che hanno potuto realizzare computer che montano Vista più performanti di prima. Driver sbagliati, programmi buggati: tutti (o quasi) sono stati debellati, e ora Vista SP1 risplende più bello che mai nei computer e nei laptop di tutto il mondo.

Wow che belle parole, peccato non sia così, perchè Vista è lento ed ha bisogno di tantissime risorse, tra cui come MINIMO 1 GB di ram e almeno un Dual Core per girare decentemente, altrochè caro Veghte.

Arriverà tra qualche anno Windows 7, il successore del povero Vista che Microsoft spaccia per un S.O. rivoluzionario ( ma che assolutamente non lo è ) e purtroppo poggerà sulle solide (?) basi di Vista: "Costruiremo Windows 7 sulla stessa architettura di base di Vista - chiarisce Veghte - per garantire che l'investimento vostro e dei nostri partner fatto nella attuale versione di Windows continui a ripagare anche con la prossima".

In questo senso, BigM fa autocritica: "Abbiamo imparato molto attraverso il feedback che ci avete inviato su Windows Vista, e quel feedback gioca un ruolo importante nel nostro lavoro su Windows 7". Certo è che se, come ribadito anche da Veghte, quest'ultimo arriverà davvero all'inizio del 2010 o giù di lì, per quale motivo gli utenti dovrebbero acuistare Windows VISTA? Non gli sorge un dubbio che tutti (o quasi) si dirigerebbero su Windows 7.

A pensarla bene poi, non mi sembra che abbiano imparato molto dai feedback su Windows Vista.......

In realtà Microsoft si è resa conto di essere diventata "schiava di se stessa" con windows XP dato che quest'ultimo ormai è ritenuto il miglior Sistema Operativo dagli utilizzatori che hanno richiesto a gran voce di non farlo "morire". Quindi a Microsoft non rimane altra soluzione.... Quella di non venderlo più, ma così facendo si incrementerà la pirateria e la migrazione verso altri S.O. quali le varie Distro di Linux e/o MacOSX, dato che negli uffici lavorare con Vista non è proprio cosa.

Ya nos comenta neodata en el foro las maravillas de Snow Leopard (y venid a la V Quedada, que habrá demo en directo, ¡esperadme! :) ) y hoy en Applesfera nos sorprenden con otra noticia: las aplicaciones del sistema (Mail, calculadora, iChat, etc) ocupan muchísimo menos que en Leopard.

Además, traen muchas mejoras ocultas. Muchas ya las ha advertido neodata en sus probatinas con el nuevo OS, otras no las había leído...pero tienen muy muy buena pinta. Parece que, pese a los rumores de que iba a ser un "Service Pack", Snow Leopard va a ser un verdadero salto que hará que saquemos mucho más partido a nuestros Macs (Intel).

Wonder if these are PCMCIA or if they fit inside the laptop and work their magic? Also, I'd be interested in ways to script a wiping of the entire home directory in the event the machine fell into the wrong hands.

Siempre me ha gustado aprender cosas nuevas, aprender a manejar diferentes sistemas operativos es algo que no podia dejar de hacer.

Y aunque quiza comence mal (osea con Windows jeje), actualmente me desempeño muy bien como usuario estandar en Linux/Ubuntu, y eh podido dejar atras el sistema de Micro$oft en mi uso personal. Pero porsupuesto este no es ni por cerca el fin de la linea, debido a mi nesecidad de descubrir nuevas areas y a la influencia de alguien muy especial para mi , por fin me eh decidio a entrar en el mundo de Mac, asi que me hice de un disco de Leopard (Mac OS X 10 5 Leopard [ToH]-RC2) y converti mi PC en una Hackintosh, El proceso de instalacion no fue para nada complicado, un agradable instalador grafico te guia por el proceso de instalacion, y luego de unos cuantos clicks tenia el sistema instalandose.

La instalacion fue sin problemas, y luego de un rato el sistema cargo por primera vez, con un alucinante video de presentacion (pero que no pude apreciar a totalidad por falta de drivers), y luego de llenar una configuracion inicial y un par de datos para mi cuenta ya podia ver mi hackintosh funcionando.

Debo de decir que mi primera impresion del sistema fue excelente me parece un sistema Limpio, muy organizado,estable, rapido e increiblemente avanzado. Manteniendo una interfaz grafica muy agradable al usuario, te permite manejarte en todo el sistema sin mayor dificultad, aunque debo decir que al principio me sentia algo perdido, no tarde mucho en adaptarme a los menus y claro con la tremenda ayuda de mi acesora mac todo fue muy sencillo de entender.

De momento debo dedicarme a darle los retoques a mi instalacion ya que por ahora no tengo los kext (controladores) de mi audio, red, video y quien sabe ke mas jejeje.

Pero en cuanto consiga tener mi instalacion funcionando al 100% les pongo mi propia Guia de instalacion y configuracion inicial para Leopard en X86.

PD: Acaso significa esto que este se convertira ahora en un blog de MAC ? jajaj naa para nada, Ubuntu me ha funcionado de 10 y no tengo nada de ke kejarme, pero kien sabe podria convertirse en un blog MAC/LINUX jejeje.
