Saturday Confession: ZOMG, it was hot as fuck yesterday, and we threw an impromptu UFC Fight Night soirée at the loft. M & I made homemade nachos and delicious, refreshing white sangria de cava for everyone. Around 9PM, when I was good and drunk and it had cooled down a bit, I baked a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch. So good. I have nothing to confess other than the fact that I put cute little tiny braids in my hair, which M proceeded to pull all goddamn night long.

Sunday What: Same old boots. Cute little plaid shorts by Lux, Hanes Her Way extra-long black tank (which come in awesome 2-packs at Target, I think), Sashimi vest. Same leather cuff with wooden bangle and black and metallic leather bag from Dolce Vita. Moleskine notebook.

Sunday Confession: Still rocking the itty bitty braids from yesterday. Word. Oh, wait! So, we went house-hunting today. Is this an inappropriate outfit for house-hunting? I wouldn't know. Kthxbai. Also?! HA-HA-HA. Oh hai, the potted plant ate my other leg.

In dollar amounts, thin film is projected to bring in $19.7 billion in sales in that time frame. That's significant sales for a technology that's just starting to gain traction. Companies making more mature versions of thin-film solar, using amorphous silicon and cadmium telluride, are aggressively ramping up their lines. This includes companies such as investment darling First Solar, as well as Calyxo and Primestar. Lux says cadmium telluride manufacturing can be less than a third of the cost of traditional silicon solar panels.

As the Lux report points out, the companies making the cutting edge versions of thin film based on CIGS are just starting to reach the market. Nanosolar touted its 1GW, 100-feet-per-minute thin-film solar equipment in mid-June and Arizona-based Global Solar is supposed to start producing its CIGS-based thin-film solar strings this month.

But given the number of companies betting on thin-film technology -- over 100, says Lux -- there will be a lot of losers. Particularly because many of those have "unproven or undifferentiated technologies," according to Lux. While thin-film solar is set to steal significant market share from traditional solar technology, these next four years will be a major weeding out period.

Another interesting aspect of Lux's report is that other competing solar technologies seem to have some major hurdles that will hold them back. High-concentrating photovoltaic solar systems "will disappoint through 2009," partly because of complex systems. Solar thermal technology (those big plants being built in the deserts) will gain traction with utilities but "face an uphill adoption battle because of limited power distribution infrastructure and the beginnings of regulatory aversion towards large-scale solar installations."

Cei care mă ştiu personal vor confirma faptul că am ceva cu cei care încearcă din răsputeri să iasă în evidenţă prin altceva decât propriile rezultate. Am ceva şi cu piţipoancele, cum extrem de sugestiv sunt denumite reprezentantele sexului frumos care fac de ruşine această titulatură. Am ceva şi cu cei care poartă lanţuri de aur la gât şi le ţin peste tricou. Şi vorba lui Ombladon, n-am crezut că voi ajunge să văd atâtea perechi de Nike dansând pe manele...

De câte ori aţi auzit într-o discuţie pe marginea achiţionării unui obiect sintagma ,,că are şi ăla''? :) Câte cazuri în care cineva şi-a cumpărat cu mari eforturi financiare o maşină pe care nu o poate întreţine ca să fie în rând cu lumea cunoaşteţi? Şi câte în care aţi fost invidioşi pe un cretin care nu a avut nicio problemă în a-şi cumpăra un lucru la care visaţi de mult? Probabil la fel de multe în toate cazurile. Mai grav e că mentalităţile se răspândesc mai uşor decât bolile contagioase şi fenomenul pare să cuprindă România.

Ok. Haideţi să vorbim puţin mai la subiect. Eşti un bărbat de vârstă medie, nasol din fire şi fără gust la aproape orice. Ţi-ai însuşit ilicit fonduri pe care doreşti cu ardoare să le investeşti în propria persoană. Ţi-ai luat iPhone dar nu prea ştii să-l foloseşti, ţi-ai luat şi haine de firmă, ţi-ai scos exemplarul de piţipoancă din dotare la cele mai scumpe terase şi totuşi simţi că nu eşti împlinit. Aşa că ţi-ai tras o vilă. La marginea oraşului. Nu ai semnal la telefon, serviciile sunt jenante, foloseşti cel mult două camere din cele 23 ale imobilului. Dar nu contează, pentru că te poţi lăuda oricând cu impunătoarea ta locuinţă. La fel, ţi-ai luat o maşină puternică. Habar n-ai de cele mai elementare detalii tehnice ale bolidului şi probabil că în scurt timp o să se defecteze la cât de prost o conduci sau te vei izbi în ceva/cineva. Să mai aduc în vorbă istoria mărcii de automobile? :)

Nu mi-a plăcut niciodată să mă implic în viaţa altora, poate doar cu unele sfaturi, dacă mi-au fost cerute. Totuşi, trebuie să-mi exprim de data asta opinia. Oameni buni, spuneţi-mi şi mie, ce poate fi mai frumos decât să-ţi petreci timpul liber într-o casă cu 3-4 camere într-o zonă liniştită, cu peluză şi pomişori? Încep să-i înţeleg pe americani... De unde mania asta pentru apartamente ultracentrale de torturat claustrofobi şi vile în zone unde nici dracu' nu şi-ar dori să locuiască? De ce să-ţi cumperi maşina pe care n-o s-o înţelegi nciodată când atâţia pasionaţi îşi conduc Golfurile spre serviciu visând la Ferrari? De ce am ajuns să cred despre cineva (care poate o persoană foarte respectabilă de altfel) că este un idiot corupt doar pentru că se află într-o maşină de lux?

Parveniţilor, încetaţi să vă mai arătaţi ostentativ realizările pe spinarea altora şi să mai transformaţi locuri hidoase în cartiere rezidenţiale de fiţe şi paradisuri naturale în proprietăţile voastre pe care să le betonaţi şi umpleţi de terase în care să vă savuraţi fake-ul de Jack şi Don Perignon. O viaţă aveţi şi aia foarte scurtă. Ar cam fi cazul să vă treziţi pentru că nu luaţi nimic din toate astea după voi!

Otel konum itibariyle Alexander Platz'a yakın bir mesafede ki otel'in en büyük artılarından biri de bu. Özellikle benim gibi hem iş ile tatil'i aynı araya sıkıştırmaya çalışanlar için oldukça stratejik bir noktada yer alıyor. 4 yıldızlı bir otel olarak 4 yıldızı'da hak edecek durumda. Lobide'ki görevliler oldukça ilgili ve güleryüzlüydü. Odalar ise klimalı ve uydu tv'li. Ancak türk kanalları listede yer almıyordu. Seminerlerden dolayı sabah kahvaltılarına katılamadım ancak otelde sohbet ettiğim diğer konuklar kahvaltılardan son derece memnunlardı.

Benim açımdan otel'in en büyük eksiği ücretsiz bir internet bağlantısı olmamasıydı. 24 saatlik standart bağlantı ücreti 13 euro ( mailleriniz için limitli download 32 mbit  ), business bağlantı ( limitsiz download ve 100mbit ) ücreti 20 euro'ydu. Özellikle YTL'ye çevirdiğiniz de içinizi acıtan bir bedel olsa da yüksek hızlı bağlantının keyfini yaşamak için ödeyebileceğiniz ve pişman olmayacağınız bir miktar.

Eğer Berlin'e gidecekseniz ve benim gibi taksi'ye değil de normal bir Berlin'li gibi  metro'ya, trene binip bu güzel ve düz tarihi şehri görmek istiyorsanız Berlin Park Plaza Otel'i tavsiye ederim ancak yine'de oda fiyatları konusunda biraz tuzlu olduklarını da göz ardı etmeyin.
