Filharmonico Caffè was a welcome stopover in Verona, after having travelled the best part of a day from England. Being a regular, father-in-law led us straight to it. It's on the left of Corso Porta Nuova, just before the Portoni della Bra (the gate with the clock).

The interior is elegant, light and modern, while the service behind the bar friendly. It was quite empty when we arrived, as it was not quite 5pm, with just a few locals enjoying a quiet drink and reading the paper. Although it was really time for aperitivo and snacks, all we wanted was coffee (with snacks), as we hadn't had anything to eat or drink for hours.

I downed the best caffè latte I've ever had in my life. Then I had a second one, which was a mistake. Being so dehydrated, I should have stuck to water. This eventually led to a horrible caffeine overdose that nearly ruined my plans the next day - to dine at Dal Pescatore.

We would have stayed much longer and relaxed, if we didn't have to drive all the way to Limone sul Garda for a dinner appointment at our hotel. With more time in Verona, this walking guide, the Historical Trail of Verona, would have come in very handy. It supposedly takes three to four hours, after which you could pop in for refreshments at Filharmonico...

A flexible $15,000.  That's less than Dad has spent on materials and components and, we hope, will entice someone into completing her and getting her airborne.

Most components have been built; currently disassembled, it will be simple to get her safetied.

This house is often used for promo shoots. I attended a shoot here for David Holmes... The lady of the house sits in a lovely summer house in the back garden and watches the ridiculous posturing go on, happy to chat about history of house. Personally I found the interior terribly male. Garden is lovely though.

Lunch in Trento was a spur of the moment decision. It would take around an hour to drive there from Limone Sul Garda, where we were staying, and as we unusually had no plans for the day, a trip to Trento seemed like fun.

It was Monday, so almost everything was closed until 3.30. Luckily, husband spotted a smart restaurant almost as soon as we arrived, in the Piazza Duomo, and though we searched for alternatives, there weren't any that we could find, and not knowing Trento, we settled for our first choice. Having done no research for lunch, we were quite impressed with the place. On our return home, I discovered that it has a Michelin star, and was listed in a recent Guardian article, Michelin-starred meals for under £20.

Scrigno del Duomo is set in a centuries-old building, and some of the original features are still visible. The interior, with an open kitchen area, is modern and trendy, and we were seated on the ground floor in the informal wine bar area. The restaurant is downstairs in the cellar.

Bread arrived in a paper bag, which was opened in front of us. It seemed a little gimmicky, but it turned out to be DOC (Italian quality assurance label for food products, like the French AOC), and very fresh.

I was impressed with the €25 three course set lunch including wine - starter of terrina di funghi con primizie dell' orto vinaigrette di erba cipollina (mushroom terrine), main of parppardelle di casa con ragù d'anatra e piopparelli (parppardelle with duck and porcini mushroom) and dessert of aspic di spumanti e frutti di bosco, biscotto allo zenzero con gelato alla vaniglia (spumanti jelly with berries, ginger biscuit and vanilla ice cream).

Vegetarian husband chose the gnocchi di patate e piselli con alici e pomodori datterino (€10.00), followed by a buffalo mozzarella salad with basil and potato (€9.00).

The food was simple, modern and delicious, while the dessert was one of the best I've ever had anywhere.

What did not impress me at all was the service. It was a far cry from the three-starred experience at Dal Pescatore just two days ago. Scrigno del Duomo would have received a higher score, had the snooty staff deigned to acknowledge our presence. It goes to show that eating at a restaurant is not just about the food. If the service isn't welcoming, no one is going to return, let alone write positively about their meal.

The bill came to a very reasonable €43 (no alcohol), although we were initially charged for my dessert, which was supposed to be part of my set lunch...

Afterwards, we walked past a lovely, cosy restaurant that I would have loved to have eaten at - Ai Tre Garofani, 33 vis Guiseppe Mazzini, as well as Ristorante Patelli, just a few doors down this street. And on the way back to Limone, we drove past an impressive fairytale castle on the edge of a lake in Sarche, Castel Toblino, which is a high end restaurant. I'll have to add this to my restaurant list...

The fixtures for the Division 2 League Fixture is OUT! Our first match will be on this Sunday, 6th July 2008 at 10am. The matches are conducted at the Tampines Sports Hall. Since our match is the first match of the day, we will have to reach the location earlier as we will need to install the boards up. (According to my past experiences) I will still need to confirm with the coach what time he wants all of us to be there, but to be safe, please be at the match location by 9am as we will all need to warm up & change to the attire.

1. The correct amount of money for Division 2 League Registration and Jersey Payment would be $60.00 instead of $70.00 as mentioned before.

This is after including all 17 players in our team.

2. Those who paid the full $70.00 will get their $10.00 back by next training ( 6 July 2008 )

3. Those who paid $50.00 you only have to pay the balance of $10.00.

4. The extra $6.00 from the $60.00 will be kept for misc. uses such as getting extra balls for us or other purposes.

Series numbers mean nothing regarding critical features. I don't believe the "auto-sort multiple destinations" feature is available on any model below the 710. However, you have to move up to the 750 to get the "speaks street names" feature once you're in the "7" series (despite the fact that models in the 3 and 6 series have that feature). The auto-sort feature may be useful to you, if you want to type in several 'waypoints' and have it prioritize them by closest-first. Otherwise they almost all support the addition of up to 500 waypoints (addresses), but the order in which you add them determines their order in your commute.

In general I think the GPS market is obscenely overpriced and ought to plummet precipitously in cost as mobile phones costing less than GPS-only devices flood the market with mapping capabilities only limited by developer potential. As people have mentioned surrounding iPhone application development, 'location data' is now commodity information upon which new value can be built. Other entrants, like the Dash, promise the benefits that GPS should always have had. Essentially, it is a multi-spectrum GPS-aware device that produces and receives real-time traffic data - but requires a subscription and costs $400 $308. I'm not suggesting you buy it, I only mention it to support my belief that traditional GPS makers ought to be in a strategic nightmare.

Tiger Direct also sells GPS units and offers many refurbished.
