This is one sick looking bodykit!Evo X was meant to be aggressive and fast , and this bodykit makes it furious. The already-good-looking Evo X spoilers were completely redesigned. Sequential Black Illusion kit is priced about US $2000, not that expensive for one good looking bodykit.

I made a short photo-shooting with a friends mitsubishi lancer evolution IX. This is the second session for my mate. Maybe you can remember his old car: http://jdmwave.wordpress.com/2008/07/05/buddys-mitsubishi-lancer-evo-viii/

His new evolution IX was tuned by master tuning. The car had some nice jdm parts on it. It looks very aggressive and sportive. He had some tein coilover shocks, a legal seibon carbon fiber hood, red evo VII taillights, recaro poleposition bucket seats, carbon mirrors, invida g200 catback exhaust, some 18 inch gramlight 57 optimise wheels.

Time warp with us back to 1986 one more time, to a fabulous creation by Alfa Romeo known as the GTV-

Time warp with us back to 1986 one more time, to a fabulous creation by Alfa Romeo known as the GTV-6. This was essentially a hatchback version of the Alfetta sedan with a wonderful 2.5 Liter V6 swapped in from the Alfa 6. Think along the same lines as a half-price, much swoopier first-generation BMW M6, or a even an larger, upmarket Isuzu Impulse, and you're getting close. The same thought process prevailed -- a midsized touring car with good looks and an even better powerplant.

That engine is what really carries the impact of this car's significance, even more so than the perfect weight distribution achieved by putting the transaxle in the rear. The resulting perfect handling is a true joy when piloting the GTV-6 down a twisting back road, but that engine note is beyond perfect. It's sublime.

A couple countries' distance away, Porsche looked at their 924, with its paltry 110 horsepower. Then they looked at the 944 parked right next to it, with it's 928-V8-chopped-in-half engine featuring 144 horses. The higher pricing meant slow sales, something they could not afford to have, especially right after the 924 model had essentially bailed them out of the gas crisis. They looked back at the 924. Even with a turbo installed, something wasn't quite right. The smoothness in regards to power output and driveability wasn't really there. They looked at the 944 again, itself an evolution of the 924 platform and its direct replacement. Hey! Let's take the 2.5 Liter from the 944 and dump it in the trimmer, lighter 924!

The result is quite an amazing niche car -- the 924S. True, the existing 944 Turbo could leave it behind, say nothing of a 911. But for the briefest of moments, this was the best all-motor budget Porsche to be had: faster than a normal 944 due to less weight. Priced under $20K, it featured 150 horses, 25 more than the standard 924. Standstill to 60 could be had in under 8 seconds, and handling was a high point, with near-perfect weight distribution thanks to the rear-mounted transmission (are we sensing a pattern here?).

Today, this same car plus 60-70K miles can be had for less than six grand. You should be emptying your pockets at this point, and well on your way to the classifieds! Soon after, more powerful 944 models emerged, and by 1989 the 924S was no more, as Porsche began focusing on a more upmarket direction. If you can live with the rather plain, minimalist interior, this is your budget Porsche.

With the introduction of the Mark II Celica Supra in 1982, Toyota introduced a sweeping new design with popup headlights, and a rear sunshade meant to thumb its nose at the louvers of Nissan's Z cars. Today, of course, the Supra is very reknowned amongst petrolheads thanks to the 1993-1998 Mark IV model and its seemingly indestructible engine -- several tuners have extracted over 1000 horsepower from its hellish depths.

For those of us not looking for a 10-second quarter mile (and something more monetarily manageable), the 85-86 Celica Supra is a very good find. As the last years of its generation, the 2.8 Liter DOHC inline six was bumped to over 160 ponies, which enabled 60mph in less than 8.5 seconds. The rear spoiler was changed to a two-piece version, and Toyota added defogger-equipped side mirrors, factory theft-deterrent system, and auto-off lights with illuminated entry.

As with all 1982-1986 Celica Supras, you can choose from "Performance-Type" or "Luxury-Type". Naturally, human nature would want those two combined, but there you are. Mechanically, there is no difference, but our choice in this case would be the "P-Type" with its fender flares, analog dash, limited slip diff, and optional leather interior and headlight washers. Prices range from $3K-$5K for examples in good shape, but you'll be hard-pressed to find one under 100,000 miles. But with Japanese reliability, that normally isn't a problem. Go Z hunting.

Subaru has always been just that little bit different. Much like the neighborhood kid who insisted on keeping to himself all the time and peering at you from behind the curtains as you walked past his house. Particularly in the 1970s and 80s, you got some of the funkiest designs and features from Subarus. Some called them "unique", others were much less kind. The XT6 was one of the keepers.

From 1988-1991, Subaru's wedge of cheese was stuffed with a 2.7-Liter Flat Six engine. The 145 horsepower eminating from within didn't exactly scream "Porsche", but it was much stronger and smoother than the turbocharged XT previously available. The suspension, which could be lowered and raised, was beefed up to support the heavier engine, and the power steering unit was upgraded to a unique variable-assist system that eliminated the standard power steering pump.

All this sounds halfway interesting, but in the end, it was a design exercise (along with its successor, the SVX) that never really did much in the way of advancing Subaru's popularity. Gadgets abounded, such as headlight washers, steering wheel with a single vertical and a single horizontal spoke, pistol-grip shifter, and an instrument cluster that tilted with the steering wheel. Room inside is decent, trunk space isn't bad, and when prompted, the cheese wedge can move down the road quite well (due in part to its extremely aerodynamic properties), emitting that distinctive flat-cylindered engine wobble. Some find it quite addictive. If you want to turn heads, plan on spending 3-4 grand on a good example with a manual shifter.

Mitsubishi has a reputation among us car nuts for making some great cars with hairdryers under the hood, cleverly disguised as turbochargers. Models such as the 3000GT, all the different Eclipse and Lancer Evolution variations, and the Galant VR-4 owe their existence to the 1982-1990 Starion. It featured a 2.6-Liter turbocharged engine and rear-wheel drive, and rowing the stick vigorously could get you from here to there with great aplomb. Opt for the widebody version, and it's quite a looker too, with a more chunky appearance than most doorwedge shapes of the period. The aerodynamics were quite well-designed for the time period, and the resulting slippery-ness was responsible for the Starion's reputation as one of the world's fastest mass-produced cars.

Admittedly, this engine won't respond to drastic tuning quite the same way the Eclipse/Evolution's 2.0 Turbo would, for example, but there are modifications to be had in the way of chipping and turbo/intercooler/exhaust upgrading. And since many Starions (today around the $came with a limited-slip differential and anti-lock brakes, you can worry less about spinning off into a ditch and more about trying to stick with that 3-series that's irritatingly quick through the bends. As with most 2+2 cars, rear passengers will need to be either circus midgets or pets. No pet giraffes, however.

Yup, it's coded as QSH-07 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. I've already decided to modify a body for one of my chassis but if this is about to come out, I think i should save more money. Yes, it's just a rumor yet, no formal news have come out just like the Nissan GT-R. Although the difference is that the QSH-06 is already posted on Q-steer's mobile website. I still don't know when I will be able to get these two cars. I've already got this:

The red Toyota Sprinter Trueno, QSH-05. It seems that the recent QSH models have Drift tires instead of tuned motors and cogs. Anyway, I'm still waiting for the two cars to come on to the stores in Greenhills. It will be a nice shopping day, if ever. :d

A few years ago i wasn’t a car fanatic and i had no clue about the tuning scene around this

A few years ago i wasn't a car fanatic and i had no clue about the tuning scene around this planet. But this changed when i saw Fast and Furious in 2001. This was something new for me. I don't knew this scene or better this lifestyle. But i read a lot on the net and talked with my friends over this "new" hobby. So i became a huge car fanatic.....but wait...i had no driver license. A few weeks after my 18th birthday i completed the driver license test successful. I bought my first car, it was a hyundai coupé fx 2.0 16V. But this was a huge mistake. The car was to slow, to heavy and uncool for me. When in 2003 the sequel of Fast and the Furious was released i saw this "yellow car" the first time. But what was it? After the movie i searched for more information about this car. I found out that the car was a new mitsubishi lancer evolution VII. At this time i don't knew this car. But it was love at first sight. I really wanted one, but it was to expensive for me. Two years later i had the chance to buy one, but there was a new model on the market. The mitsubishi lancer evolution VIII was released. I went to a local dealer for a test-drive.....and wowwww. I was infected from the evolution virus. The car was so fast, so solid, so beautiful. I decided to buy a new black one.

When i had the car in my garage i hade huge plans to tune it. I wanted to rebuild the 2 fast 2 furious one. Fortunately a friend leaned me some jdm option dvds. From this moment, the jdm scene was my world. I left this fast and furious big pimping style behind me and ordered a lot of "normal" parts. The modifications began.

some sparco bucket seats and 4-point harness went in:

Rays VolkRacing CE28N with pirelli pzeros neros followed. I choose 19inch wheels. I know many guys said they are to big for an evo. But i think they looked really good and there was only a little performance loss.

I spent my car a mitsubishi vortex generator. The car looksreally good with them and over 180km/h they give 2.8 kgs more down-fore.

That i had all important temperatures and pressures in sight. We installed four defi bf amber red gauges. If the engine is off, the gauges are black (smoked glass). On the following picture you can see a blitz turbo-timer, perrin gear knob, tein electronic damping force controller (edfc) and the defi control unit-II.

The list get longer and longer and i spent to much money. Here is the full tuning spec of this car:

- HKS Super Dragger II
- K&N Airfilter
- Tein Flex
- Tein EDFC
- Sparco Evo L Seats
- Sparco 4-Point Harness
- Blitz Turbotimer
- tinted Windows
- MR Vortex Generator
- Carbon Fiber Strutbar
- APR Carbon Radiator Shroud
- Volk Racing CE28N Wheels
- Pirelli Pzero Nero
- Evo VIII MR black taillights
- Evo IX black headlights
- xenonlook bulbs
- Ralliart Radiator Cap
- Perrin Short Antenna
- Perrin Shift Knob
- Seibon VS-II Carbon-Fiber Hood

last photo taken before i sold the car.

I sold this car in cotober 2006. Cause i wanted the ultimative jdm coupe. But more later...

A friend wanted some pics of his mitsubishi lancer evolution VIII before he sell the car. So i used the opportunity to make some photos of his car.

The car was looked like a sleeper, but it was pretty fast. At this time i owned also an mitsubishi evo VIII, but mine wasn't that fast.

The car had a D2 suspension, 5zigen wheels and a maxspeed exhaust. The car had a deep sound a full throttle. Sometimes it was too loud for swiss police officers ;-) Buddy choose to use the usdm rear bumper and some red taillights from the evo VII. Some vortex generators on the roof top gave some extra down-force at high-speed sections. The car looks really harmonic with this body combination. The rear looked like Jennifer Lopez (Big Bum).

The car was built by Master-Tuning in Küttigen Switzerland.

The interieor was nearly stock except of some gauges and another gearn knob.

It was really harm to sell such a car. But he wanted the newer mitsubishi lancer evo IX.

At the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the Lancer Sportback will unveil by the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation

At the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the Lancer Sportback will unveil by the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation for the first time at an international motor show, at the Le Mondial de l’Automobile 2008 being held in Halls 1-8 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from October 2 through October 19 and on October 4 for the general public.

The company will also be displaying the Lancer Ralliart and Lancer Sportback Ralliart models that are based on the Lancer*1 sports sedan and Lancer Sportback. These models are powered by a turbocharged engine mated to Mitsubishi’s Twin Clutch SST a Sport Shift Transmission and delivering power to all four wheels through an Active Center Differential. The Lancer Sportback will have its European launch this fall with a phased introduction into the various countries in the region.

The sporty Lancer Sportback is a 5-door sport hatchback, with its inverted-slant nose truck parts and trapezoidal grille that defines the Mitsubishi Motors design identity, a body type that is very popular in Europe.

Power for the Lancer Sportback comes from a variety of engine choices including a 1.5L engine producing 108-hp, a 1.8L engine producing 141-hp and a 2.0L turbo diesel producing 138-hp. Mitsubishi’s new diesel engine will join the lineup in spring of 2009. The Lancer Sportback Ralliart is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a total of 237-hp with a peak torque of 253 lb-ft.

Power is transferred to the wheels via Mitsubishi’s Twin Clutch SST transmission with an Active Center Differential. The Lancer Sportback offers truck parts that are an auto-folding function which enhances luggage compartment convenience through adjustable rear floor height and rear seatbacks that can be tipped forward via a lever located in the luggage compartment. The series is due to be joined by a model powered by Mitsubishi Motors’ new diesel engine in spring of 2009.

The Lancer Sportback Ralliart and Lancer Ralliart models use a new turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC MIVEC*2 engine with the maximum output of 177 kW (240PS), and the maximum torque is 343 Nm (35 kgm).

For extremely responsive steering and traction through tailoring the amount of torque fed to each wheel to optimally suit driving conditions, this is mated to Mitsubishi’s high-efficiency Twin Clutch SST transmission with an Active Center Differential. Also helping to significantly raise the basic performance attributes of these cars over the Lancer base model are 2-pot caliper front brakes and a larger brake master cylinder.
