Thank you so much for all the time you gave Brendon and I this past
your way to let us know that you wanted us all to have fun! Brendon is
still talking about his kingfish today and even had one of them for
dinner tonight. They were great. This is our 4th trip on the Lady K and
we'll definitely be back!

Please be advised that the Lady K will not be running our normal 8 - 12 or 1 - 5 trips on August 5

Please be advised that the Lady K will not be running our normal 8 - 12 or 1 - 5 trips on August 5th, 6th and 7th. We will be part of the 21st annual Kid's Fishing Day, sponsored by the Palm Beach Fishing Foundation for under privileged children. The main activity center will be at the Lantana Bicentennial Park, right across from the public launching ramp and Sportsman Park Marina, home of the Lady K.

The program features many stages of knowledge for these children, including how to tie knots, casting, care of tackle, a touch tank, marine conservation, fish identification and of course, a two hour fishing excursion aboard the Lady K where they get to place their knowledge to the test. Last year, children caught bonito, kingfish, grunts, snapper, tuna, released a sailfish and a nurse shark during their outings on the Lady K.

We will resume our regularly scheduled 7 - 11 night trips on the above mentioned dates for those who wish to fish with us after the days' long events. Be a hero, take a kid fishing today!! Keep posted with us for the photos and recaps of the three day event.

This young angler took home the free pass for the largest fish on our first morning trip of August

This young angler took home the free pass for the largest fish on our first morning trip of August. He was fishing with his mom, who helped him hold the pole and fought this 28 pound Black-fin Tuna for nearly 20 minutes before bringing it to the gaff. A prize catch and great eating to boot. The morning trip also caught deep-water Vermillion snapper, kingfish and bonito.

Our afternoon trips have been great for folks looking for yellow-tail snapper, mutton snapper and the Great Barracuda. The snapper can be caught by those who are willing to learn how to "spool the bottom". Ask any of our mates to teach you how to use this technique and become a more successful fisher-person.

Brendon will be heading back to Missouri soon, so his grandmother thought she'd treat him to a summer night of deep-sea fishing. They each caught two kingfish and had several other fish on thoughout the evening. Is this what cool grandma's do?

This group of anglers saw what great lengths our crew will go thru to get a fish into the boat. Not only did they catch plenty of kingfish for the smoker and grill, but they also managed to hook into another nice 28 pound Black-fin Tuna, our second for the day. The tuna fought a good fight and after getting tangled up, Capt. Al hand-lined the fish, caught on 30 pound test, to the boat while mate Bruce brought the fish into the boat, a true team effort by all!

The first of August was hot, but not as hot as the fishing. Our night trip had 25 people onboard and they caught a total of over 40 kingfish! It was a great time had by all of the families and couples who chose to wet a line and have alot of fun.

So what are you waiting for? Come on out and share the fun, who knows, you could be the winner of the free pass or get your photo on our site with your catch - or both!

Fun and family enjoyment is what we are all about when fishing on the Lady K. Our crews try very hard to ensure children of all ages catch fish and coming up in August, the Lady K will be part of the annual Kids Fishing Day, sponsored by the Palm Beach Fishing Foundation.

The children who fished with their families on Monday night, 7/28/08, got a little taste of the rewards of accomplishment that fishing brings.

Here is Micheal Delrossi Jr. (12) of Royal Palm Beach, Florida who was fishing with his dad, Micheal Sr. and managed to bring in this nice kingfish. I think the smile says it all!

Paul Spencer, visiting from Leominster, Mass. caught a perfect eating size kingfish while fishing with his dad and three younger brothers. It was a joy watching him help out his brothers with their angling skills, What are big brothers for?

Some folks enjoy bottom fishing, where a large varitey of fish can be caught, from large grouper and snapper, to small reef fish and grunts. Our bottom rigs consist of a heavy sinker with 2 hooks attached above it spaced about 16 inches apart. The preferred bait is cut squid.

Lauren Brown, visiting from Omaha, Nebraska with her boyfriend, Rob Olsen, thought the Big-eye Toro (left) and White Grunt were so cute, that she would pucker up for them. Lauren had a great time and out fished her boyfriend by catching fish two at a time as seen in the photo below.

Every day is a great day aboard the Lady K, so come on out, relax, soak a line and enjoy yourself on any one of our three daily trips.

Just finished watching Kary’s Lady K concert. I am so impressed especially since there was a live band playing there instead of them just playing a softer version of the songs. Well…I listened to her concert cd ages ago and I knew her live singing has improved immensely but watching her sing and perform at the same time is so different. You can tell she has put a lot of effort into preparing for this concert and she has definitely practiced her singing. Her live singing sounds pretty much like the cd version of her songs but I prefer listening to the live version because it just has this special ‘feel’ to it that makes it sound better. I’ll give a brief description of some of the highlights of the concert, which is majority of the performances *rolleyes*

Opening: Kary slowly rises up from the platform thing playing the piano. I never knew she could play the piano because it didn’t look like she learnt to play the piano just for this concert. Anyways, she’s playing the piano and then starts singing 二十世紀少年 (Youth of the 20th century). I thought this was a great way to start the concert because the audience gets suprised by her improvement in singing.

2. 明知做戲 (Obvious Acting? DOn’t know how to translate this title =P) I’ve always liked this song right from the start when I first listened to Kary’s first album. She did not disappoint me with this live version of the song and it was good seeing her perform this live because you can see the emotions she has put in while singing this.

4. 南方的風 (Southern Wind?) I might be the only one who considers this one of the highlights xP I absolutely love this song. I like listening to people sing in mandarin because the language is much softer and better to listen to. Well, this song is one of the mandarin songs in Kary’s first album. She has such a nice voice and the live version is pretty much the same as the cd version. You can probably feel more emotion in the live version though…or maybe its just me?

6. 山歌 (Hill song) This is the duet with Justin Lo. Once again, I might be the only one who would name this a highlight because I just love this song. I love the beat of this song and I like Justin’s vocals so this performance has to be mentioned in the highlights.

7. 台北四天三夜 (4 days and 3 nights in Taipei) This has got to be my number 1 Kary song. This is the mandarin version but I also like the cantonese version. Its a real pop/rock kind of song and has a very catchy tune (or maybe I just listen to it too much? xP) Its the first time I heard Kary perform it live and I absolutely love her performance. You can see that she has a very strong voice and she has so much potential to be a great singer.

8. 戀愛天才 (Love Genius) Kary plays the drums while singing this song xD Perfect song to play the drums to though because this is even more rock than the song above. I think she learnt the drums just for this concert so she didn’t really do anything too outstanding but its still good to see her put so much effort into this concert. It isn’t easy playing the drums and singing at the same time, especially if you’re not a real drummer.

10. 殺他死 (This is a straight translation: Kill him Dead lol…I guess you could remove the dead and it would still mean the same thing…) Justin appears again. This time he’s just a backup kind of singer? I’ve highlighted this because of Justin though. Little Justin was standing at the top of the stage while Kary was down the bottom. He’s just so amusing to watch because you can tell he was really getting into it and the gestures/movements he makes are really outstanding. You have to watch this to understand what I mean

The more popular songs were performed last eg. 愛你變成恨你 (Loving you turns to hating you), 逼得太緊 (Pushing me too hard) and the very well known Ping Pung song, 愛是最大權利 (Love has the most power?) It was smart to put these songs last because they’re the ones most people anticipate. There’s nothing much to say, just combine everything I said above and that would be the comment for these performances. Actually I was extra impressed with her performance of 逼得太緊 because I’ve heard her sing that live quite a few times and they always don’t sound that good. The song has too many high notes. In the concert, Kary sounds so different. She doesn’t go off pitch and she doesn’t run out of breath. It was spectacular.

Negatives: I might sound biased if I don’t give any criticism. Even though Kary’s vocals were great, there’s still room for improvement. She’s still young though so we shoudn’t really expect her to be the best singer out there. I was also disappointed in her 怕 performance…I thought she could sing it better. It is a hard song to sing though because the music is so soft but the original singer (Stacey Orrico) sings it with very strong vocals which overpowers the music. You would have to have a very strong, well developed voice to sing this song well live. So I guess Kary still needs to improve her vocals so she can sing songs like 怕 amazingly.

Overall, I am so glad I bought and watched this concert. Definitely worth watching. Listening to Kary sing live so well feels great because it feels like I’m watching her grow up and improve (Even though she’s older than me *Rolls Eyes*). The cd even comes with pretty packaging, the cd cover is all shiny and the booklet that comes with it is all shiny as well! I don’t really like the picture on the cover though, the whole image they are trying to create is weird and feels unnatural…

Those pics are all scans of the booklet that came with the cd. If you want to share them please credit me.

Going to watch SeeTHRU Stephy Concert now. This will be interesting…

I write too much don't I?
