Can we localise the "Angina related artery " from the the type of chest pain ?

Patients with stable angia many times have multivessel CAD. There has been some correlation with radiation of anginal pain and the culprit artery. If the angina spreads to jaw or neck it is possibleit might indicate RCA(RIGHT coronary angina) but rarely it indicates LAD/LCX lesions. if the angina radiates to left shoulder it virtually ruels out a RCA disease

When I was still a lad, there was this craze going on about making cartoons based on ducks. Back in the late 80's to the early 90's, mallards ruled the entertainment world. We had the pleasure of watching Count Duckula, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, The Mighty Ducks, and every now and then we would have the opportunity's to watch the old classics, staring either Donald Duck or Daffy Duck. I have no idea why my generation at the time was a target for duck related entertainment, but as time went by we all seemed to grow fond of it. I have yet to find one person in my age range that has never had at least one fond memory of any late 80's to early 90's 'duck shows'.

It must have been a growing market back then. It just seemed as if everyone was getting into the duck business for some reason another. Even Capcom, one of the biggest third party video game developers at the time, would go on to eventually contribute to this new wave of children's entertainment inspired by the Anatidae bird family. (Yes, I just pulled that out of Wikipedia.)

Capcom, in my opinion, made the definitive duck related games for the dominating system of that time; the time when ducks ruled the world. That system was the Nintendo Entertainment System. Capcom had the licensing from Disney. It was their job to create games based on Disney's hit shows and movies. With this license, Capcom would go on to make three of the greatest duck related games ever created. Three games that would be released at the peak of this new era in entertainment; the era of the duck.

The most notable and praised game they created due to their relationship with Disney was Duck Tales. Duck Tales, the show, starred Scrooge McDuck, a cheap stubborn wealthy old prune who traveled the world with his nephews and a few friends. They traveled on reasons to uncover lost and hidden treasures. Capcom's game basically took this premise and ran with it. From the Amazon to the Moon, you discovered treasure as the old cheapskate himself.

With your cane you could finally unleash that pent up old man rage you have been building up over the years. Pressing Jump and down would activate this cane mechanic. The cane acted in a 'pogo stick' fashion. It would allow you to hop up and down, break rocks, and it would also harm enemies. The cane could also be used in the form of a 'golf club'. You could hit rocks, and other objects to clear out paths, as well as enemies. The cane mechanic really helped establish a strong foundation for this game.

Duck Tales stood true to the show as well as to itself as a game. It didn't try too hard to be something that it wasn't. All it did was provide a fun interactive experience based on a popular TV show. I still find it fun to pick up after all these years. I regard this game as a true classic. Not only was it fun, but it starred ducks for duck sake!!!

After Capcom's Duck Tales made a hit, the company went on to make Duck Tales 2 in 1993. Duck Tales 2 provided new mechanics for the cane. Not only could you use the cane in 'pogo stick' fashion or 'golf club' fashion, but you could use it to drag blocks, flip switches, latch on to rings, and move rafts. The game also changed locations as well. Scrooge in Duck Tales 2, could travel to Niagara Falls, the Bermuda Triangle, Mu, Egypt and Scotland. New friends such as Webby and Gyro, who would help provide Scrooge with cane upgrades, would also accompany him on his adventure. Duck Tales 2 could have been just as big as the original, but due to the late release date of a system that was going out of date, Duck Tales 2 just would not have the chance to fairly prove itself.

The last game I'll bring up in the Capcom duck trilogy will be Darkwing Duck. Now I wasn't as big of a fan of this show as I was of Duck Tales, but it still was one of those shows that I watched on a regular basis as a kid. The game was somewhat of a hybrid between Mega Man and Duck Tales. In fact according to Wikipedia, this game was literally built off of the Mega Man 5 Engine. Darkwing Duck has the ability to shoot enemies, gain special guns, and spew out the "I am Darkwing Duck" phrase at the beginning of each stage.

The main mechanic in this game is hanging. Everywhere you go, you'll have to hang onto either ledges, switches, hooks, or mobile objects to make progress throughout this game. Although it wasn't anything new for 1992, the hanging mechanic was a pretty welcome addition to this game. Don't quote me on this, but to my recollection Taito introduced this mechanic in The Flintstones: Rescue of Dino and Hoppy a year earlier in 1991. Used mechanic or not, Darkwing Duck was, and still is a pretty damn fun game.

The duck trend was something that I nostalgically hold onto fondly. It was just a really different and odd concept at that time. Cartoon developers targeted us with ducks, of all things. Why ducks? In retrospect, I find it hilarious. Words really can not describe how ridiculous I find this now after all these years looking back on it. It makes me feel somewhat special to have been in that targeted demographic. Video games, cartoons, and yes, ducks made up my childhood. Capcom just helped merge those worlds together for me with the development of these three titles.

Well my eyes flew open this morning
I was thinking about a troubled dream
the technotronic lad was feeling very bad
he was working on a naughty scheme
if we can get some of that good brown rice
from out of that oozin mud
throw it on a platter say lookee here
I took it with my own red blood

Chorus:
No, you can't make me believe that's right
you're wrong in what you say
you computed your head
while laying in a bed on a bright and sunny day
full of vermouth while searching for the truth
in a slight haphazard way
then you told me that the band would play
on a dull and gloomy day
and I know it's not true

Well he got out his toy computer
little slide rule in green
started calculation with a bit of fabrication
on a world with his promised dream
territorial right was what he had to fight
and he said he knew that 'it ain't mine'
but see here now child
we been good everything'll just be fine

he was expending all of his power
they took away one of his toys
and old mother Hubbard was running around
saying what have you done to my boys
with your nice clean clothes
you're playing in the mud
you don't listen to my advice
now sit here and get in this house
and watch the cat go looking for mice
well I hope to God that that woman's right
she's right in what she say

Tak każdy zareagowałby, gdyby zobaczył mój piękny pokój. I nie pieprzcie, że macie gorszy.

Nie macie.

Stan pokoju przed sprzątaniem.

Region łóżka: W łóżku znalazłem dwa podręczniki, do niemieckiego i do wiedzy o społeczeństwie.

Kilka zeszytów do wszystkiego, kilkanaście kartek a4 z historią i angielskim i mnóstwo śmieci.

I wszystko takie nieładne, pogniecione i w ogóle syf. Muszę wymyślić jakieś remedium na ten problem. Sugestie jakieś macie, drodzy Czytelnicy(kłamię)?

Dobra, czas posprzątać ten burdel.

Napiszę jak wygląda mój pokój po sprzątaniu.

Tymczasem!

These guys have been doing work!!! LA The Darkman is back with vengeance. Recent mix-tapes include Notorious LAD with DJ Drama and Dead Presidents with DJ Drama. His real life younger brother Willie the Kid seems to have inherited his brothers' rap skills; check out his mix-tape Divide and Conquer with DJ Drama and Big Mike. La the Darkman was first seen on the scene back in the mid 90's as a Wu-Tang Affiliate... He worked extensively behind the scenes with RZA and put out a classic album "Heist of the Century" with classics like Lucci, Fast Life, and the self titled track. NOW after years he's back on his own... with Affiliates and Embassy Entertainment he established. All together there known as the Come Up Boys (CUB) and the Sing Sing Regime (SSR) and heavily rep AMG (Affiliates Music Group or "A is for the big chain on my neck, M is for money, G is for gun-rule). It also has been reported that 50 Cent and G-Unit records will be doing a collabo with DJ Drama/ gangsta grillz/AMG. La is reported to be having an official album released soon, unknown title...I really hope there is some sort of WU presence somewhere on it. They've been busy doing videos as well, with the one posted above and another they filmed in Hawaii. Enjoy!

Strapping young lad - City.

This album is now over ten years old and yet, it still captures the sheer raw force of Strapping Young Lad, under the helm of the crazy Devin Townsend. The musical style is heavy, in the way that only extreme death metal can be.

Devin Townsend presents the perfect vocals for the songs, varying from the almost melodic moments in “Room 429” to the all out death metal roars of “All hail the New flesh” and “Velvet Kevorkian”, his voice can only be described as something you would expect to hear from an angry animal or a madman. The lyrics similarly deviate from almost normal to completely inane and yet, there’s something appealing about the sheer brute force behind the songs that keeps you wanting to listen.

The songs are kept in time by the masterful drumming of Gene Hoglan, a guy who while looking somewhat like a shaved bear, is a master of his instrument. The man plays drums in the same way a seasoned touchtyper types, looking straight ahead and playing without batting an eyelid. His use of the double bass pedal and his “kick triplets” gives you an excellent backing to the guitar.

The polyrhythmic (Two rhythms at once) guitar playing of Devin Townsend and Jed Simon creates a powerful rhythm for the songs, giving a distinct sound to each one. The combination of Devin singing, Hoglan drumming and the dual guitars of Townsend and Simon gives Strapping Young Lad a powerful sound that many would find hard to ignore.

If you’ve ever wanted to get into this kind of music, I’d recommend giving SYL a try. The standout tracks “Room 429” and “Oh My Fucking God” especially (Although, if you watch the you tube version of the last, expect some unusual moments).

Overall, the album is polished and showcases the talents of the band members well, the songs all have their distinct sounds and purposes and work well together to create the finished product that is “City”.

I give it 8/10

There was once an old castle, that stood in the middle of a deep gloomy wood, and in the castle live

There was once an old castle, that stood in the middle of a deep gloomy wood, and in the castle lived an old fairy. Now this fairy could take any shape she pleased. All the day long she flew about in the form of an owl, or crept about the country like a cat; but at night she always became an old woman again. When any young man came within a hundred paces of her castle, he became quite fixed, and could not move a step till she came and set him free; which she would not do till he had given her his word never to come there again: but when any pretty maiden came within that space she was changed into a bird, and the fairy put her into a cage, and hung her up in a chamber in the castle. There were seven hundred of these cages hanging in the castle, and all with beautiful birds in them.

Now there was once a maiden whose name was Jorinda. She was prettier than all the pretty girls that ever were seen before, and a shepherd lad, whose name was Jorindel, was very fond of her, and they were soon to be married. One day they went to walk in the wood, that they might be alone; and Jorindel said, 'We must take care that we don't go too near to the fairy's castle.' It was a beautiful evening; the last rays of the setting sun shone bright through the long stems of the trees upon the green underwood beneath, and the turtle-doves sang from the tall birches.

Jorinda sat down to gaze upon the sun; Jorindel sat by her side; and both felt sad, they knew not why; but it seemed as if they were to be parted from one another for ever. They had wandered a long way; and when they looked to see which way they should go home, they found themselves at a loss to know what path to take.

The sun was setting fast, and already half of its circle had sunk behind the hill: Jorindel on a sudden looked behind him, and saw through the bushes that they had, without knowing it, sat down close under the old walls of the castle. Then he shrank for fear, turned pale, and trembled. Jorinda was just singing,

'The ring-dove sang from the willow spray,
Well-a-day! Well-a-day!
He mourn'd for the fate of his darling mate,
Well-a-day!'

when her song stopped suddenly. Jorindel turned to see the reason, and beheld his Jorinda changed into a nightingale, so that her song ended with a mournful /jug, jug/. An owl with fiery eyes flew three times round them, and three times screamed :

'Tu whu! Tu whu! Tu whu!'

Jorindel could not move; he stood fixed as a stone, and could neither weep, nor speak, nor stir hand or foot. And now the sun went quite down; the gloomy night came; the owl flew into a bush; and a moment after the old fairy came forth pale and meagre, with staring eyes, and a nose and chin that almost met one another.

She mumbled something to herself, seized the nightingale, and went away with it in her hand. Poor Jorindel saw the nightingale was gone-- but what could he do? He could not speak, he could not move from the spot where he stood. At last the fairy came back and sang with a hoarse voice:

'Till the prisoner is fast,
And her doom is cast,
There stay! Oh, stay!
When the charm is around her,
And the spell has bound her,
Hie away! away!'

On a sudden Jorindel found himself free. Then he fell on his knees before the fairy, and prayed her to give him back his dear Jorinda: but she laughed at him, and said he should never see her again; then she went her way.

He prayed, he wept, he sorrowed, but all in vain. 'Alas!' he said, 'what will become of me?' He could not go back to his own home, so he went to a strange village, and employed himself in keeping sheep. Many a time did he walk round and round as near to the hated castle as he dared go, but all in vain; he heard or saw nothing of Jorinda.

At last he dreamt one night that he found a beautiful purple flower, and that in the middle of it lay a costly pearl; and he dreamt that he plucked the flower, and went with it in his hand into the castle, and that everything he touched with it was disenchanted, and that there he found his Jorinda again.

In the morning when he awoke, he began to search over hill and dale for this pretty flower; and eight long days he sought for it in vain: but on the ninth day, early in the morning, he found the beautiful purple flower; and in the middle of it was a large dewdrop, as big as a costly pearl. Then he plucked the flower, and set out and travelled day and night, till he came again to the castle.

He walked nearer than a hundred paces to it, and yet he did not become fixed as before, but found that he could go quite close up to the door. Jorindel was very glad indeed to see this. Then he touched the door with the flower, and it sprang open; so that he went in through the court, and listened when he heard so many birds singing. At last he came to the chamber where the fairy sat, with the seven hundred birds singing in the seven hundred cages. When she saw Jorindel she was very angry, and screamed with rage; but she could not come within two yards of him, for the flower he held in his hand was his safeguard. He looked around at the birds, but alas! there were many, many nightingales, and how then should he find out which was his Jorinda? While he was thinking what to do, he saw the fairy had taken down one of the cages, and was making the best of her way off through the door. He ran or flew after her, touched the cage with the flower, and Jorinda stood before him, and threw her arms round his neck looking as beautiful as ever, as beautiful as when they walked together in the wood.

Then he touched all the other birds with the flower, so that they all took their old forms again; and he took Jorinda home, where they were married, and lived happily together many years: and so did a good many other lads, whose maidens had been forced to sing in the old fairy's cages by themselves, much longer than they liked.

Witajcie.

PALINI R. SWAMY writes from Bangalore: Hunting for a scapegoat is India's national pastime. And as the chief ministerial ambitions of B.S. Yediyurappa get cruelly chopped off by the devious designs of Deve Gowda & Sons (and daughters-in-law), every side can find plenty of pigs to explain the denouement.

The BJP can take the high moral ground and again call it "the worst betrayal ever", ignoring its patent desperation to sleep with a promiscuous partner. The JDS can take the only road available before it---the low one---and say all it wanted was an pre-nuptial agreement on stamp paper, probably given its own sterling record of sticking to promises.

The Congress can take the middle road, rubbing its hands in glee at the "communal forces" being stumped, not once but twice, and hope that somehow something will happen that will give it get another shot at power. And the astrologers, who were proved wrong just a week ago, can claim that it was all an astral aberration.

But a good exercise at this juncture is to inspect "the foreign hand".

For over two decades now, "the foreign hand" has been political shorthand for Pakistan. An inheritance of the Indira Gandhi era, it has been used to explain everything that went wrong in the country.

A bomb explosion, a stock market implosion, an assassination, trouble in Kashmir and Punjab, everything was traced back to the "foreign hand" of Pakistan and its ISI, although even after five years Lal Krishna Advani could not quite come to deliver the "white paper" he promised.

The nausea-inducing politics of Karnataka gives us a chance to ponder a real and more tangible foreign hand: that of the People's Republic of China.

Think about it: Beijing through Bellary.

Bellary with its rich iron ore deposits has become a goldmine that no political party wants to take its hands off. In 2005 alone, the mine owners are said to have made profits of Rs 3,100 crore. Illegal mining is said to have cost the State Rs 25,000 crore in lost revenues.

Excavators dig through hills and hillocks, day and night, as if there were no tomorrow. And the famous high-quality ore (65%+ Fe content), trucked to and exported from Mangalore, have made millionaires out of many, some of them politicians with helipads in their homes to ferry kids to school.

The BJP first tapped Bellary's value when Sonia Gandhi stood for elections from there in 1999 and Sushma Swaraj took her on. And there has been no looking back since.

# Real estate prices have zoomed 400 per cent in three years.

# Bank withdrawals in Hospet's SBI have shot up from Rs 3 crore every six months to Rs 40 crore per week.

# Local press reports say Bellary will soon have Asia's highest per capita concentration of private helicopters.

But it is the lasting imprint that the easy lucre of Bellary's ores have left on Karnataka's soil on their way to China in the last couple of years that is truly mind-boggling.

The first stone against H.D. Kumarawamy---the Rs 150 crore bribery charges---was thrown by G. Janardhan Reddy, who owns the Obalapuram Mining Corporation. Reddy's brother N. Karunakar Reddy is the BJP MP from Bellary.

The currency notes counted on camera by inspector-turned-minister C. Chennigappa were earned by the sweat and toil of the mine workers. HDK's political secretary was M.P. Suryanarayana Reddy, one of Bellary's biggest miners and an MLA.

D.K. Shiva Kumar, with mining interests in Kanakapura himself, established through documents how the humble farmer's family had attained mining interests in Bellary. M.P. Prakash, who made a minor bid to form a government, is also from the area, with his son M.P. Ravindra a go-between miners despite the father's protestations.

JDS legislator Santosh Lad, who owns V.S. Lad & Co and was instrumental in installing Kumaraswamy was---no surprise, no surprise---a major player in the failed attempt to install Prakash as CM with the Congress' support. And his cousin Anil Lad is with the BJP.

And finally, B. Sriramulu. The minister who filed a criminal complaint against Kumaraswamy is from Bellary with his own mining interests and is close to the Reddy brothers. The JDS is opposed to his inclusion in the Yediyurappa government, and it is the very renumerative mines and geology portfolio that the JDS wants.

No wonder the first action of the BJP after the Kumaraswamy government fell was to revoke Janardhan Reddy's suspension from the party. No wonder the JDS wants the mining portfolio. No wonder BJP doesn't want to let go.

It takes no genius to see that greed and avarice have become the leit motif of our parties and politicians. But who would have guessed that China's insatiable thirst for steel could be fuelling it in a small corner of the globe, altering the political landscape---and political integrity---of the region, possibly for all time to come?

I woke up at 7 a.m. yesterday (ugh!) and drove to Baton Rouge for LSD's homecoming. I have never been to LSD before or any of the other places I was going that day; this was all a new experience for me. There were several activities going on that day. The day started off with Louisiana Association of the Deaf's workshop at the LSD student center. So I headed down there. It wasn't too hard to find, LSD is directly behind the LSU campus (in fact we could see the LSU stadium from LSD's stadium - that was interesting because there was a huge LSU game going on at the same time). I bet most LSU students have no clue that it's over there. Anyways, the first thing I saw as I drove onto campus was huge letters in a small man-made hill: LSD. I'll tell you right now, I do not like that acronym; when I complained, someone asked me "Why? Do you do LSD?" No, was my reply. "Then it's not a big deal." It didn't seem like something dwelled on by the deaf community there, but it's not good from a public relations stand point. The guy has a good point though; they aren't going to get away from that acronym, not when every deaf school in the country follows the same acronym rules. So I'm trying to accept that it is here to stay whether I like it or not.

So second thing I noticed was the general layout of the campus. It was obviously built in the 70s, it had that kind of 70s feel to it where the building were a slight depressing muddy-brown and the buildings were simply made with bricks. For the most part, the buildings were one floor in height, there wasn't anything special about them. Passage ways from building to building weaved there and here. The part that essentially made it shine was the glorious green meadow it was built upon. For the most part, I felt far removed from the city that surrounded it.

The first goal of my day was to find the LAD meeting. It wasn't hard. I was able to pick out a sign with the words "Student Center" painted on it. The only difficulty was that it wasn't strategically placed. It was sticking out of the ground between two buildings. I tried the building on the right first, to find that it was locked. I was able to get into the building on the left. The meeting room wasn't immediately obvious, so I wondered around the building. One of the first things I saw was a collection of old objects. There was a old door without a purpose. When one looked through the window of the door, one could see a picture on the wall of the old LSD campus. This one was one of grandeur. People had taken the time to build this one. The buildings were white and thought was placed in the designing of the place. It reminded me somewhat of the Titanic with its wood craved stairwells and it's painstaking details. It also reminded me of some of the nicer and older homes of New Orleans. That building has since been taken over by the Baton Rouge police department.

I also saw a group of old objects such as a wheelchair, a dental chair and a bed. I wasn't sure of the dates of these items, but the wheelchair looked like the one that FDR used. One of the things I love about deaf schools is the history behind them. Most of them collect old hearing aids and other memorabilia. They also tend to be around for a long time. In LSD's case, they have been around since 1852; they're older than my university!

One of the interesting things I learned that day was that LSD almost closed. Attendance was dwindling down. Guess what changed that? Hurricane Katrina.

I wandered a bit further and found the meeting. They had already started, so I sat down in the back (Yay, I didn't NEED to sit in the front - to lipread - and distract others by being late!) . They went over emergency preparedness (see my previous entry), the NAD conference - they're very excited that this will be New Orleans, I am too! - and VRS stuff.

From there, I socialized in the same room for a bit and took off for lunch. When I came back the volleyball game was over and I spend it socializing a bit more in the room outside of the volleyball game. Then I went over to the football game, talked to more people. It was at the football game that I talked with a deaf blind friend of mine. He told me that his name for his cane was "Le Tigre" and let me look at and touch his Braille watch which I thought was the neatest thing.

The football game turned out to not be that great, so I got dinner and went to the Baton Rouge Association of the Deaf social. There was another social going on at the same time as BRAD at the First Deaf Baptist Church. I didn't go to that one because it was for LSD Alumni Association.

The BRAD club almost closed too. Hurricane Katrina didn't bring it back to life, Texas Hold 'em did. Yee Haw!

I got my hands on a copy of a newsletter for the St. Gerard Community for the Deaf, which is the deaf community of my Catholic church. I was so excited to get this. Imagine my surprised to get this newsletter in Baton Rouge, not New Orleans. OHH.. and get this, they have their very own Krewe of Dauphine! A krewe in New Orleans is very similar to a "crew". But it is the krewes that make the floats for the Mardi Gras parades. They also have parties. The Krewe of Dauphine is actually having a party, but it doesn't look like they will be doing a float.

I love the name. They took the name Dauphine because the deaf ministry is located on Dauphine Street. But Dauphine is actually the woman who is next in line for the throne of queen of France. Marie Antoinette was once the Dauphine of France before her father-in-law passed away. You can guess what I want to be for Halloween, and no she never said "Let them eat cake." She was a woman of unfortunate circumstances.

They are also having a Deaf Thanksgiving and a Christmas party. I am so excited. I also got myself on the LAD mailing list so I will know about their meetings as well as the BRAD.

I'll try to list deaf events that I know about in Louisiana on here. I'm excited about the knowledge I've acquired in just one day. Oh and the Jambalaya from the entry title is because I got some jambalaya from BRAD to bring home to my husband. He adored it. Said it was some excellent jambalaya. :)

For those who have yet to hear the news, I just had a close brush with life. Last Friday very early

For those who have yet to hear the news, I just had a close brush with life. Last Friday very early morning (June 15th) Aruna woke me as she heard me groaning in my sleep. This is one of those small coincidences as she had actually gone to bed upstairs since I had the lights on and was working that night. Somehow, very unusually, I slept off and crawled into the nearest bed and somehow, Aruna came back downstairs at around 2 a.m.

I awoke with a feeling of slight breathlessness and a sense of tightness under my breastbone. We both thought it to be indigestion and i took a couple of antacid pills, but to no avail. Apart from my jaws being very tight, there were no other symptoms. After an hour of fruitlessly waiting for it to subside, we called our family doctor and he suggested that we come in for a checkup. This was about 3 a.m. (dedicated doc Ravi Thyagarajan!). We got there about 3:30 and he checked my BP and pulse and both were normal. I had no temperature, no sweatiness, no chills, no other discomfort except for this steady 'almost pain' under my breastbone. The feeling of breathlessness had also faded away.

After some deliberation and observation Ravi put a tablet under my tongue, 'just to be on the safe side' and ordered me to a nearby cardiologist for an ECG (EKG) and whatever other tests they may decide. The tab melted off not too unpleasantly but then I felt a bit lightheaded and went home to sleep. This tab-under-the-tongue was concidence #2 for without it things would have gone from bad to worse that much faster!

On awaking, the discomfort was minimal, just a vague feeling of tightness and I was ready to ignore that but Aruna insisted and so at about 9 a.m., after sending the kids to school/college, we finally went to a nearby cardiologist's office where the ECG looked suspicious enough that they decided to do an echo and that showed that a heart attack was under way. The medical term is acute myocardial infarction, in this case affecting the muscles of the anterior wall of my heart. Due to a sudden lack of oxygen these muscle cells were unable to beat properly and would soon die altogether unless rapid action was taken.

I was rushed to a nearby hospital where good cath lab facilities were available. There, as luck would have it, mini miracle #3, a cardiologist who was also a good friend and the best in the city for interventional cardiology was handling the cath lab that day (Dr. J.K. Periyasamy) who on seeing my report, ordered me in for an angiogram. I went straight into the ICCU where an IV line was inserted, medication injected, test doses of the anesthetic and radio-opaque dyes were spotted onto my forearm and I was prepped for the angio.

Within a couple of hours they had me under the moveable head of the x-ray machine in the cath lab, with a catheter working its way up my right arm towards my heart. I was conscious and by now enjoying the whole show. The monitors were on my left and I could watch by craning my neck around slightly. The dyes started to be injected in double puffs of black, highlighting the arteries of my heart. The x-ray head swung in all directions as they got a fix on the two main arteries and studied them for blocks. It didn't take too long to find TWO 90+% blocks right next to each other on the artery known as the LAD. This was obvious even to my untrained eye as Dr. J.K.P. pointed it out and then asked if he could go ahead and put in a stent. After careful measurements they decided that they had a stent that was just big enough to cover both the lesions and that's coincidence #4 as without that 30 mm stent, it would have been a bypass surgery for sure and I would have lost some valuable heart muscle while I awaited that surgery. A very worried Aruna was consulted and shown the blocks and after she agreed, the doc inserted the stent and sent me back to the ICCU.

It turns out that ad hoc stenting like this is almost never done in India. There are too many risks involved and the cardiologist has to be supremely confident that they have seen and diagnosed correctly without needing to ponder the films for a couple of days at least! Yet, I was in that critical window period where if the blocks were removed, my muscle would be preserved and back to normal within a couple of weeks, otherwise the muscle would soon die (about 12 hours is all that's there) and an infarct would result - that's the scar tissue that results from an untreated MI.

That next 24 hours was really painful. I was feeling fine but flat on my back with bandages swathing my arms and under the watchful eyes of the ICCU staff, who flatly refused to even let me watch my own monitors!

The next day I begged to be let out, and the doctor reluctantly agreed. Then after 2 more days in a room at the hospital under observation, I was finally let go of but under strict orders to take rest. I've even been kept away from my computer till today and hence the delay in informing all of you.

I would like to thank in particular Senthilkumar (our adopted brother) and the staff of his company Ventura Omnitech Pvt. Ltd. for the constant and selfless support during a time of crisis!

If I can figure out how to podcast bits of my angio, that may also show up on this blog one of these days...

Pokład mam pełen złota, srebra i innych kosztowności.

- odpowiedziała Duma i z dumą podniosła piękne żagle.
