O portal norte-americano FilmSite, especializado em rankings, acaba de atualizar sua lista anual com as mais chocantes cenas de mortes do cinema. No total, são contabilizados momentos memoráveis das telas desde a década de 30, quando o hábito de sair para assistir a filmes começou a ficar freqüente.

De um total de mais de 100 longas-metragens, confira algumas cenas que marcaram as décadas de 70, 80, 90 e 2000. Para quem não assistiu a alguns dos filmes, os relatos a seguir podem contar partes importantes do enredo.

O Exorcista (1973)
Direção: William Friedkin

Cansado de tentar exorcizar o demônio Pazuzu do corpo da menina Regan (Linda Blair), o padre Karras (Jason Miller) resolve provocá-lo e questiona seus poderes ao pedir que ele o possua. O demônio atende o pedido e entra no corpo de Karras, que resiste à sua influência e se joga pela janela, rolando degraus de escada e morrendo no final dela. A cena é tão clássica que a escadaria utilizada para rodar o filme, em Georgetown, virou ponto turístico e patrimônio histórico da cidade.

Tubarão (1975)
Direção: Steven Spielberg

O clássico Tubarão é repleto de cenas memoráveis de mortes, mas a mais bem-sucedida delas provavelmente é a do próprio vilão do filme, o tubarão assassino. Depois de perder várias pessoas pelos ataques freqüentes do monstro marinho, Brody (Roy Scheider) engana o bicho e joga um tanque de oxigênio dentro de sua boca. Depois de cambalear enlouquecidamente, o tubarão ainda leva vários tiros.

A Profecia (1976)
Direção: Richard Donner

Depois de tentar encontrar uma solução para matar o assustador menino Damien, interpretado por Harvey Stephens, filho do demônio em pessoa, o fotógrafo David Warner (Keith Jennings) é decapitado após ser atingido por um bloco de vidro, que cai de um caminhão. Sua cabeça rola no ar e espirra sangue, chocando os que estavam ao seu redor. O filme ainda reúne outra cena memorável: mostrando todo o seu amor a Damien, a babá (Holly Palance) resolve se enforcar durante a festinha de 6 anos do pequeno demônio.

Carrie, A Estranha (1976)

Depois de ser banhada por sangue de porco no baile de formatura, Carrie (Sissy Spacek) usa seus poderes sobrenaturais, até então ocultos, para matar cada aluno que atravessa o seu caminho das mais variadas formas.

Alien (1979)
Direção: Ridley Scott

O clássico de 1979 tem uma cena inesquecível. Durante um jantar na nave Nostromo, Kane (John Hurt) tem seu corpo dilacerado por uma criatura alienígena que sai de seu peito. Sangue e pedaços de órgãos voam para todo lado, em um dos momentos menos esperados do longa-metragem.

O Iluminado (1980)
Direção: Stanley Kubrick

O aterrorizante O Iluminado usa da psicologia para tentar retirar dos espectadores seus maiores medos. Ninguém esperava, porém, que a morte do amalucado personagem Jack (Jack Nicholson), que persegue sua família com um machado após ser influenciado por espíritos de um hotel vazio, seria tão simples. Depois de perseguir o filho e a mulher fora do local, o assassino não resiste ao frio e amanhece duro como pedra, congelado pela baixa temperatura.

Sexta-feira 13 (1980)
Direção: Sean Cunningham

No primeiro Sexta-Feira 13, Jason Voorhes nem existia, mas sua mãe já saía matando os adolescentes de um acampamento, indignada com a morte por afogamento de seu querido filho. É num desses assassinatos que Jack Burrell (Kevin Bacon) é agarrado e tem uma lança atravessada em sua garganta, provocando um mar de sangue em sua cama.

A Hora do Pesadelo (1984)
Direção: Wes Craven

Johnny Depp, em começo de carreira, fazia filmes adolescentes do gênero B. Talvez ele não soubesse o quanto a série A Hora do Pesadelo se tornaria famosa. Na cena de sua morte, o personagem é engolido pela cama e reduzido a sangue, muito sangue, que se espalha por todo o quarto e choca sua mãe.

Pânico (1996)
Direção: Wes Craven

O massacre dos adolescentes da série Pânico começa quando a personagem de Rose McGowan decide pegar algumas cervejas na garagem e é esfaqueada pelo maníaco mascarado. Como se não bastasse, o homicida resolve amassar a cabeça da jovem ao prensá-la entre o portão e uma parede.

A Outra História Americana [1998]
Direção: Tony Kaye

O neonazista Derek tem o ódio em seu coração. O ápice de sua raiva acontece logo no começo do filme, quando ele manda um de seus inimigos colocar a boca em uma sarjeta e pisa em sua cabeça, destruindo seu maxilar e o matando instantaneamente.

O Chamado (2002)
Direção: Gore Verbinski

Depois de tórridas cenas de investigação, o grand finale acontece quando a medonha aberração Samara Morgan (Daveigh Chase) sai da televisão e engatinha em direção a Noah (Martin Henderson), que já estava amaldiçoado pela fita de vídeo assombrada.

A Paixão de Cristo (2004)
Direção: Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson foi alvo de críticas e elogios pelas cenas de tortura de Paixão de Cristo. Na hora da crucificação de Jesus (Jim Caviezel), há closes em suas mãos e pernas sendo pregadas. Posteriormente, ele dá seu último suspiro e morre sob um banho de sangue.

A Casa de Cera (2005)
Direção: Jaume Collet-Serra

A Casa de Cera não chamou muita atenção nos cinemas, exceto pela cena em que a personagem vivida por Paris Hilton, em sua grande estréia nas telas, é morta por uma lança atravessada em sua testa.

- El primero en salir es Rey Mysterio quien es recibido con una gran ovación por parte del público chileno. Habla sobre el Draft, las luchas de la noche y sobre los comentarios de Carlito en la visita a Chile. Mysterio dice que las mujeres latinas son realmente bellas y que Carlito se equivoca. Luego aparece Carlito quien es recibido por el abucheo del respetable, Carlito reta a Mysterio por una lucha, pero Mysterio dice que no puede luchar pero si un gran amigo de él. Aparece Batista, pero Carlito lo recibe escupiéndole la manzana en la cara, Batista comienza a golpearlo, luego Mysterio aplica su 619 seguido del Batista Bomb.

- Lance Cade sobre Paul London.

- Jim Duggan derroto a Charlie Hass.

- Ted Dibiase Jr y Cody Rhodes rebutieron sus campeonatos ante Cryme Time.

WWE Women’s Championship Match - Special Referee Santino Marella
- Mickie James venció a Beth Phoenix.

- Sale Chris Jericho y habla que Shawn Michaels no vino a Chile por que es miedoso y un mentiroso. Aparece HBK y el Arena Santiago estalla en ovación para el chico rompe corazones.

- HBK sobre Chris Jericho con el Sweet Chin Music.

World Heaviweight Championship Match
- CM Punk con el GTS sobre Kane para retener el campeonato. Al finalizar la lucha ambos se dan la mano ante los aplausos del público.

- JBL dice que George Bush es el mejor presidente de la historia y que todos deben respetarlo, luego comienza a decir que "Dios bendiga America" el público comienza abuchear. Luego aparece John Cena quien es recibido con aplausos y abucheos. Cena se quita la polera y la lanza hacia el público, la cual es devuelta. JBL dice que personas como esas son sus amigos y es aplaudido por la gran mayoría.

- John Cena con su F-U sobre JBL.

- El Show termina con Cena celebrando con la bandera chilena.

This is obviously not from CtW, but that's okay because new projects are always welcome.  This is the second time Kane has jumped into my head; the first came about a year ago, for a different prompt response.  I really like the piece, although I've got a few red flags (male protagonist, present-tense, sci-fi).  Whatever.  I'm in a mood tonight, and CtW has been driving me crazy, so why not try something new?  It's just a dabble.  *wonders what else would come out, if she pushed*  Maybe I should set up a second date? ;)

Smackdown opened with HHH giving a little information about the condition of Vince Mcmahon.  Edge and Batista then joined him and not to soon after the three were wrestling.  Batista then speared Edge and took posession of the championship gold for the night.

Umaga in his first Smackdown match would face Batista in the main event.  The match never reached its conclusion though seeing as how Zack Rider, Chavo and Curt Hawkins interfered.  La familia then pumbled Batista until The Game came out and defended him.  Smackdown closed with Batista and HHH in the ring celebrating.

Kane had a victory over MVP which prompted Big Show and Mark Henry to make their presence felt.  The three would hold their battling until Sunday’s Noght of Champions however.

Raw started out with good ol’ J.R. coming to the ring for his fairwell address to the Raw audience.  He was then shortly after interupted by Edge, Hawkins, and Rider.  Edge ordered Hawkins and Rider to escort J.R. out of the building and not to let him return.  Edge then went on to taunt the fans and make fun that they lacked a general manager, the Undertaker, and a world championship.  This prompted Batista.  Batista made short work of Edge leaving him in the middle of the ring knocked out.

Then something amazing happened “Mr. Money In The Bank” CM Punk came out and cashed in the briefcase (first time ever on Raw) and delivered the go to sleep on Edge to get the one, two, three.  CM Punk became the new world champion.  Punk would have too much time to celebrate though because not soon after he was challenged for the title by JBL which Punk accepted for the main event.  This ticked one John Cena off a bit so Cena threw his name in the hat.  But with no GM or McMahon Cena had nowhere to turn to make things happen.  So he went to the fans.

JBL took control of the situation though and had his personal security throw Cena out of the building.  CM would go on to later defeat JBL last night.

It was an incredible Night of Champions for the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry, who overcame the onslaught of the Big Red Machine Kane and the World’s Largest Athlete Big Show in a Triple Threat Match to bring the ECW Championship back to the Land of the Extreme.

Kane showed tremendous fortitude as he fought through an injury during the match, suplexing the gigantic Big Show off the top rope. But, while both men were feeling the effects of the devastating move, Henry splashed his way in, picking up both the win and the gold. With Big Show still a SmackDown Superstar and Kane drafted over to Monday Night Raw, who will dare challenge the gigantic new ECW champion?

Newly-drafted United States Champion Matt Hardy made an extremely strong statement by defeating the self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior” Chavo Guerrero. After Guerrero grabbed the No. 1 contender’s spot thanks to his aunt, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, Hardy stopped him in his tracks, hitting the Twist of Fate. Will Guerrero come back for more? Or, will Matt Hardy find new prey on Tuesday nights?

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison retained their titles in a whirlwind match against the father-son duo of Finlay and Hornswoggle, which ended with Morrison hurling Hornswoggle from the top rope to pick up the win. Will the brawler from Belfast and his son seek retribution for this attack now that they are officially members of ECW? Or will they bow to the Palace of Wisdom?

1 : The Miz & Morrisson gardent leur titre face à Finlay & Hornswoggle, Morrisson attaque Finlay qui vient de faire le tag à Hornswoggle et projette le nain de la 3è corde pour le tombé [PS : Hornswoggle a vraiment catché cette fois : flying head scissors, stunner et bulldog] (premier pronostic réussi).

2 : Mark Henry bat Kane et le Big Show et remporte le titre de l'ECW, Kane & Big Show ont travaillé en équipe sur Mark Henry mais après une superplex du turnbuckle qui a mis Big Show et the Big Red Machine au sol, Mark Henry réalise le tombé sur le champion avec un standing splash. (deuxième pronostic réussi).

3 : Matt Hardy conserve son titre face à Chavo Guerrero Jr. en réalisant le compte de trois après le Whisper in the Wind (3è pronostic réussi).

4 : Ted Dibiase Junior & Cody Rhodes deviennent les nouveaux champions par équipe (face à Hardcore Holly et Cody Rhodes ?!) :

Ted Dibiase arrive seul (sur son thème musical : Priceless) et demande à démarrer le match seul car son coéquipier va vite arriver, il demande à affronter d'abord Hardcore Holly, Cody Rhodes fait le tag et attaque son coéquipier avec un DDT, Dibiase présente Rhodes comme son partenaire, Rhodes fait le tag avec Dibiase, celui-ci fait le tombé sur Holly avec un Cobra Clutch Slam (Million Dollar Slam ?) (4è pronostic réussi, j'avais pensé à Cody Rhodes en partenaire de Dibiase, surtout après l'engueulade avec Holly et le fait que Dibiase s'adressait surtout à Holly mais là vraiment c'était sans précédent).

5 : Kofi Kingston défait Chris Jericho pour remporter le titre intercontinental après que Shawn Michaels soit venu le distraire aux abords du ring (5è pronostic réussi en demi teinte, l'adversaire de Jericho n'était pas annoncé, mais j'avais prédit la défaite de Jericho et la victoire d'HBK, en sachant que celui-ci a coûté la perte du titre d'Y2J) [après le combat Jericho frappe Michaels dans son œil blessé]

6 : Mickies James conserve son titre face à Katie Lea Burchill avec un DDT(6è pronostic faux, mais vraiment les matchs de gonzesses de la WWE je m'en secoue les oreilles, d'ailleurs c'est à ce moment là que je suis parti pisser ...)

7 : Edge défait Batista avec l'aide de « La Familia », Batista était sur le point de gagner Vickie a tiré les pieds de l'arbitre, ce dernier a été attaqué par la Rated R Superstar et mis K.O., Chavo Guerrero est venu remplacé l'arbitre et a compté le tombé sur l'Animal (mis K.O. après un coup de ceinture de l'Ultimate Opportunist) (7è pronostic faux).

8 : Triple H défait John Cena pour conserver son titre grâce à un Pedigree, Cena a encore catché comme une merde et n'a pris l'avantage sur HHH que lors de la blessure au genou de ce dernier, il a presque systématiquement loupé ses prises de finitions, The Game a été très brutal lors du combat et a fait le « crotch chop » de la Dégénération X (8è pronostic réussi).

La WWE a oublié le match de championnat féminin de Smackdown ?!

Analyse : Un bon PPV avec des surprises qui seront un chantier pour de futures nouvelles storyline à la WWE, RAW se retrouve sans grand champion, c'est pour ça que je prédit que CM Punk encaissera son Money in the Bank bientôt et contre Edge.

Finlay & Hornswoggle vs John Morrison & The Miz (c)
- Combate comienza muy movido. Llega un momento que entra Hornswoggle dando muy buena ofensiva sobre Miz, pero Morrison logra golpearlo para que Miz se recupere. Entra Morrison comienza a humillar a Hornswoggle quien logra escapar y darle el relevo a su padre.Combate comienza muy movido. Llega un momento que entra Hornswoggle dando muy buena ofensiva sobre Miz, pero Morrison logra golpearlo para que Miz se recupere.  Morrison comienza a humillar a Hornswoggle quien logra escapar y darle el relevo a su padre. Entra Finlay limpiando la casa con Morrison y The Miz, luego Finlay aplica Celtic Cross sobre Morrison, Finaly le da el relevo a Hornswoggle, este se sube a la tercera cuerda mientras Miz se lleva a Finlay, Hornswoggle se demora así aprovecha Morrison quien lo vota de la tercera cuerda para hacerle el conteo y llevarse la victoria.

- Comienzan midiendo fueras, Matt Hardy gana y aplica un candado a la cabeza, luego Chavo también aplica un candado. Matt Hardy toma la iniciativa, hasta que Chavo comienza a golpear en la pierna a Matt Hardy reiteradamente. Matt Hardy despierta pateando a Chavo quien sale fuera del ring, el Mexicano golpea con las cuerdas a Matt Hardy quien queda tendido en la lona, Chavo aprovecha se sube a la tercera cuerda, Hardy se mueve pero Chavo cae bien. Matt Hardy intenta aplicar Twist of Fate pero Chavo lo levanta, Hardy aprovecha y aplica tremenda DDT, Hardy indica que viene Twist of Fate pero chavo le aplica un medio cangrejo. Chavo aplica los tres amigos, pero cuando hiba aplicar el tercer suplex Matt Hardy saca de la nada un Twist of Fate para retener el campeonato.

Mark Henry vs Big Show vs Kane (c)
- Kane comienza dominando el combate, saca del ring a Mark Henry, hasta que aparece Big Show y lo comienza a golpear. Big Show saca a Kane del ring (quien aparentemente se lesiono) luego Henry sube al ring y comienza a batallar con el Big Show. Big Show intenta aplicar un Chokeslam, pero Henry se defiende lanza a las cuerdas al Big Show y doble lazo al cuello, por parte de Big Show y Mark Henry. Kane aparece se lanza de la tercera cuerda sobre Mark Henry, deja en una esquina a Henry y en la otra a Big Show y comienza a golpear ambos con lazos al cuello, hasta que Henry le aplica un brazo de oso, Kane lanza a Henry y aparece Big Show con tremenda patada. Luego Kane y Big Show se unen y aplican ambos un Chokeslam a Mark Henry. Big Show intenta conteo pero Kane interviene, luego Kane tambien intenta conteo y Big Show interrumpe. Kane se sube al esquinero se lanza pero Big Show lo recibe con tremendo Chokeslam, conteo uno, dos tres! Noooo! Kane sobrevive. Luego Big Show se sube a la tercera cuerda pero Kane le aplica tremendo Suplex de la tercera cuerda!. Henry aparece de la nada aplica tremenda plancha para llevarse la victoria.

World Tag Tea, Championship
Ted Dibiase Jr vs Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes (c)
- Ted dice que su compañero llegara en 10 minutos. Comienza la batalla con Cody frente Ted, pero este pide que su rival sea Hardcore Holly, este acepta pero Cody traiciona a Holly lo patea y DDT, luego le da el relevo a Ted este aplica Million Dollar Dream conteo uno, dos y nuevos campeones en parejas.

- Michael Cole entrevista a JBL y este dice ¿Por que no esta presente en este PPV?, Cole le dice por que el no es campeón. JBL lo queda mirando y comienza hablar sobre la economia de Estados Unidos y que es la persona mas rica de la WWE.

- Jericho comienza hablar y dice que a sido campeon Intercontinental ocho veces, que no sabe quien sera su rival pero que si sabe que HBK no sera su rival. Luego habla que el siempre a estado presente a pesar de sus lesiones y que recibe él a cambio? Dice que él se quiere salvar del publico hasta que suena la música del jamaicano.

Intercontinental Championship
Kofi Kingston vs Chris Jericho (c)
- Kofi toma a Jericho, este lo revierte y aplica candado a la cabeza sobre Kofi, este se defiende golpeando. Jericho se impulsa en las cuerdas, Kofi lo evade intenta atacar a Jericho pero este se escapa fuera del ring, Kofi se impulsa y se lanza sobre la tercera cuerda y cae sobre Jericho. Ya avanzado el combate Jericho aplica Lionsault seguido del Walls of Jericho, entre el publico aparece HBK quien le aplica Sweet Chin Music a Lance Cade quien estaba fuera del ring, Jericho se distrae y Kofi le aplica Jamaican Buzzsaw para coronarse como nuevo campeón intercontinental.

- Chris Jericho queda indignado y golpea a HBK quien se encontraba vendado en el rostro.

- En backstage se encuentran Edge, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder. Estos dos le ofrecen ayuda para su combate con Batista. Edge se enoja y les recalca sus logros entre ellos sacar de WWE a Undertaker.

Katie Lea vs Mickie James (c)
- El combate finaliza cuando Mickie intenta su DDT, pero Katie lo evita y saca un Armbar. Katie insiste en el castigo en el brazo, hasta que Mickie logra zafarse y aplicar su DDT para retener el campeonato femenino.

Batista vs Edge (c)
- Batista comienza dominando el combate, gran parte del combate se desarrolla fuera del ring. Edge logra defenderse azotando a Batista en el poste del ring, luego se lanza con doble patada sobre Batista quien cae sobre las mesas de transmisión. Algo avanzado el combate ya, aparece la Familia, Batista intenta conteo, pero interviene Vickie Guerrero, Edge intenta aplicar Spear pero Batista se mueve y Edge se azota con el poste. Edge golpea al arbitro, Vickie toma el micrófono y manda a llamar a un nuevo arbitro, quien aparece es Chavo Guerrero, mientras Chavo se dirige al Ring, Batista toma a Vickie Guerrero y lanza a Vickie Guerrero fuera del ring sobre la familia. - El primero en entrar es John Cena ante el abucheo del respetable, sigue Triple H y comienza el combate. Clásico headlock, hasta que Triple H se impulsa en las cuerdas, Cena intenta derribar a Triple H pero quien derriba a Cena es Triple H, este le hace el signo de DX por lo que el publico reacciona gritando. Cena toma la delantera aplica suplex, lanza a Triple H a las cuerdas, este lo recibe con tremenda patada en el pecho, Cena se impulsa en las cuerdas y derribada estilo fútbol americano. Triple H logra defenderse y lanza a Cena fuera del ring, Triple H trae hacia al ring a Cena y le aplica un suplex, ahora Triple H golpea reiteradamente con codazos a Cena. Cuando Cena comenzaba a dominar el combate, Triple H lo recibe con rodillazo en la cara, seguido de un rompe espina dorsal, luego intenta pedrigree, pero Cena lanza a Triple H hacia el esquinero quien cae fuertemente fuera del ring. John Cena aplica un STFU, pero Triple H se logra reincorporar y le aplica pedrigree, Triple H cubre uno, dos, tres! Nooo Cena logra zafarse, luego ambos se levantan y Cena saca de la nada un F-U conteo y el conteo solo llega a dos. El arbitro comienza el conteo hasta que ambos se levantan comienzan a intercambiar golpes. Luego Cena intenta un F-U pero HHH logra afirmarse en las cuerdas, ahora HHH intenta Pedrigree pero Cena saca un STFU, Triple H logra llegar a las cuerdas, pero Cena lo lleva hacia el centro del ring para aplicar nuevamente un STFU, hasta que Triple H lo revierte y le aplica él un STFU. Cena logra levantar a Triple H aun cuando HHH esta aplicando STFU, Cena acomoda a Triple H va aplicar un F-U pero Triple H se escapa y Pedrigree, para retener el campeonato de la WWE. De esa forma Triple H queda celebrando en el ring, mientras John Cena se marcha.

Lex is dead......or on vacation or something so I'll be taking over the "Official Discussion Posts" for the next two days. Tonight we have probably the most unpredictable PPV of the year WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions, every WWE title is on the line and a new WWE Diva's Champion will be crowned.

Maybe the most interesting thing about this card is how much we don't know. We don't know who Chris Jericho will be wrestling for his Intercontinental Championship, we don't know who Ted DiBiase Jr.'s tag team partners gonna be for his match against Cody Rhodes & Bob Holly and we don't know who Natalya Neidhart will be facing for the new Diva's title. What we do know is the probability of the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands is as close to 100 percent as you can get. Batista and Cena haters beware my only prediction for this PPV is one of those two will be carrying gold by the end of the night. Despite my comments on the last podcast I've decided to order this PPV. Why? Because when are we gonna have another WWE PPV were anybody could win and I'm a sucker, this is the same guy who's gonna be in line on July 11th to drop 200 bucks on second iPhone because it has features that really should have included with the first one. What can I say Vince McMahon and Steve Jobs have hold of me there's just no resisting.

BTW I don't know why The Undertaker is on the official poster.........and remember no posting over this until tomorrow............

Blasted/ 19:21 Theatre Company
Mossmer Hotel, SF June 22, 2008.

The seven of us stood in the lobby of the Mossmer Hotel on Fourth Street. We didn’t now much; all we knew was that we were seeing a production of Blasted, Sarah Kane’s first popular play. We are handed veils as we are told to put them on and place them on over our heads. There were three holes; one hole for our mouth and two for our heads. From this moment on we knew we were in for something special. We would soon be observes to something that would become more poetic than any experience I had ever had before.

What you see feels like something other than theatre. There are none of the traditions that are present in normal theatre. There is no cast list and there is no program. In fact there is no program. And appropriately at the finale there is no blackout, (the room is already dark), and no curtain call.

19;21 Theatre Company from England brings us a trans-continental cast production of Blasted by Sarah Kane. This company brings us perhaps one of the most intimate but also one of the most aloof theatre experiences I have ever had. This production of Blasted has been staged, like the real play, in a hotel room. There is no defined stage, just as there is no defined place for the viewer to be. The audience is free to move to find a better vantage point as the show is staged around them. If you want to see part of a scene better, it is your job to find a better place stand.

The acting was almost subpar at the top of the show, as the two leads did not seem to play very well together at first. The main reason there is this feeling at first is the audience is in fact not used to this style. The dialogue is not given in a particularly “theatre” style, it is given more conversationally. But gradually as you grew into the style and into this new form, the audience gradually warms up to the actors and the style of the show.

When the work shows its true brilliance it is when things starts to fall apart. As the apartment is thrown into to ruin by the entrance of the soldier the play takes on a whole new light and the performances get so much more believable. Lighting helps to play a big role in this as the lights begin to get less and less and are used to focus you on what you are supposed to be seeing. The performances of the actors too becomes all the more intense and believable.

Those of my readers who are familiar with the work of Sarah Kane know how brutal she is. Her work, thusly, is incredibility hard to stage. And 19:21 have found a new way to bring her work to life. The staging and lighting of the piece is so brilliant you don’t realize it until hours or maybe even days later. How they accomplish what the piece calls for is the most theatric part of the piece, and is worth seeing the piece just for itself. But where the piece really shines is the experience. The feelings that the piece gives the audience as we leave, unsure if we were to clap, just leave or cry. Blasted remains true to the ways of Sarah Kane and hits you dead on in the face with its unique experience. Ultimately this piece provides the perfect introduction to a new viewer of Kane’s work, but it also brings to life one of her plays in a new way that people even the most familiar with her work would not miss.

What can only be classified as “event theatre.” When it really comes down to it, Blasted is all about the experience and what the audience goes through as they journey through the play. And because of that they get away with some things that would not quite work in any "normal" production. All theatre productions should take a little advice from this production and accommodate the experience of their audience. It helps a lot and effectively engages any member of the audience. Blasted is one of the best events of the year, and is well worth the look. This is an experience you will not soon forget.

Triple H comes out and puts over Smackdown, puts over Jim Ross, and hypes up Night of Champions.  Edge comes out.  Triple H and Edge face off, both with their respective belts.  They insult and one up each other for awhile.  Batista comes out, Triple H tosses Edge out of the ring where Batista spears Edge on the outside.  Batista then steals Edge's title.

Kane and the Big Show vs. Mark Henry and MVP

MVP and Mark Henry have problems throughout the match.  MVP tries to leave, Mark throws him back into the ring.  Kane hits a choke slam on MVP for the pin.

Vickie is having a meeting with Alicia Fox.  Edge comes in and wants Vickie to do something to Batista so Edge can get his title back.

Finlay and Hornswoggle vs. Kurt Hawkins and Zach Ryder

Finlay hits the Celtic Cross on Hawkins, then Hornswoggle comes off the top rope with the Tadpole Splash for the pin.

Matt Hardy vs. Edge

After a good long match, Edge hits a spear on Hardy for the pin.

Jeff Hardy hype video.  Jeff returns to Smackdown next week.

Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and Cherry vs. Maryse, Victoria, and Natalya

Vickie Guerrero is barely watching the match backstage, instead she is continuing to talk to Alicia Fox.  All six Divas brawl until Maryse rolls up Cherry for the pin.

Vladmir Kozlov vs. Domino

Kozlov hits a shouler tackle into Domino as Domino is coming off the top rope for the pin.

Rey Mysterio and Hornswoggle have a little interaction backstage.

Rey Mysterio comes out to say goodbye to Smackdown.

Batista vs. Umaga

Batista is about to pin Umaga when La Familia come out and jump him.  All the heels beat down Batista, Umaga just about destroys him.  Umaga is about to splash Batista when Triple H comes out for the save.  Batista and Triple H take out the heels.
