Now I'm sure there are people out there that are thinking, Chelsea has a billionaire Russian owner, just give him the money. This is a road with many bumps further down the line. If you give in to players needs, not only will other players see it, but so will other clubs. This is how you end up with ridiculous debts later on. You're going to have to give guys like Cech, Carvalho, and Essien the same amount. Then you try to buy players from other clubs. You're going to be forced to pay such an inflated price that is nowhere near market value just because clubs will think you'll do anything for the player. Is any player worth more than how much Real Madrid paid for Zidane? No. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Messi; as great as they are, they aren't worth more than Kaka and will never control a team the way he did. Then you have to sign the player, you're going to be forced to give them their terms.

You're players end up becoming mercenaries. You will have people not playing for the club because of their love for the club and success, but for their cheque. We've seen it happen for Sheva and there have been claims of that for Deco as well. Chelsea are now an attractive destination. We've got a manager who has a World Cup under his title, we recently made it to the Champions League Final, and we've either won or been runner-up for the Premier League title for four straight seasons. If there is a club that is up and coming where you can enjoy success, Chelsea is the spot. Even Kaka has said that he thinks " Chelsea are the club to be at right now". Although he is not joining Chelsea, that's great news for us and our development as a big club.

We've continuously bought stupidly and this must end. Tal Ben Haim was a pointless buy because he was no better than a young defender and he wasn't going to get much time anyways. Why not give some youth a chance? We bought Malouda to add flair on our left wing but it is as if no one ever watched him play before he was purchased. Malouda quickly moves right into the centre from the left. It could be argued that Deco was a stupid buy as well but I feel that he is probably Chelsea's only and best passer. Shevchenko never made sense for us to buy from day one. Pizarro was a free transfer but even as a third choice striker (at the time there was no Anelka), he's old and was often played as a midfielder. People may say that Nicolas Anelka was a dumb buy as well. I would say that our hands were tied because of the need to have a quality striker during the race for the Premier League title and Champions League fixtures. I just don't feel we should have bought someone with a bad history like his.

Here's a couple of positions we obviously need replacements. Drogba may not leave this season but he will eventually, someone of young class will be neeeded. Shevchenko, Anelka, and Pizarro need to all be shown the door. Lucas Podolski should be bought for our second striker as he is obviously out of place with Toni and Klose at Bayern Munich. He also showed he was a very effective winger down the left side. For our number 3 striker, Dani Guiza because he was La Liga's leading scorer and he was great for Spain in Euro 2008. He could eventually over take Podolski. Di Santo should be our 4th striker. For our winger, Podolski would be able to play the left. Robinho would be a sound winger with great finishing. Robinho would probably cost a lot but would be worth it. How scary is Podolski + Cole, Robinho + Cole, or Podolski + Robinho?

Overall, I just believe Chelsea should be much more careful. The line-up only needs tweaking not a major overhaul. Only our striker position needs an overhaul.

A Sic Noticias, adianta esta manhã, às 7h3o minutos, que Ricardo Quaresma está mesmo a um passo de jogar no Inter de Milão.

O Canal de televisão, diz mesmo que Quaresma não deve comparecer ao treino desta manhã no Dragão, pois o negócio entre os dois clubes está praticamente fechado.

A Sic Noticias, divulga mesmo que o negócio não envolve troca de jogadores, recebendo o Futebol Clube do Porto 28 milhões de euros pelo jogador, muito distante da verba que o clube Português pedia pelo craque ( 40 milhões de euros ).

Ricardo Quaresma está a um passo de ser jogador do Inter de Milão, segundo avança a imprensa desportiva.

O jogador não viajou para o Porto com o resto da equipa, no dia em que o seu empresário ultimava os pormenores do seu contrato com o clube italiano.

Quaresma irá auferir qualquer coisa como 14 milhões de euros por 4 anos de contrato, ou seja, o triplo do que ganhava no Futebol Clube do Porto.

O Clube do norte de Portugal deve anunciar a venda do jogador dentro em breve.

Mourinho deve ter o jogador Português às suas ordens, como queria.

Jika iya, Anda pastilah merasa bersemangat menanti hari dimulainya kompetisi Serie A. Di tengah meredupnya pamor Serie A akibat kasus calciopoli di tahun 2006, dua buah berita dari Kota Milan membawa angin segar kepada pecinta Seria A Liga Italia.

Berita pertama adalah penunjukan Jose Mourinho sebagai pelatih Inter Milan.

Pelatih yang terkenal akan reputasinya yang hebat dan juga kontroversinya. Nama Mourinho mulai dikenal publik sepakbola ketika ia membawa FC Porto menjuarai Liga Champions di tahun 2004. Sebuah prestasi yang membuatnya direkrut Chelsea di musim kompetisi berikutnya. Di musim pertamanya di Chelsea ia membawa Chelsea menjuarai Liga Inggris untuk pertama kalinya setelah 50 tahun. Selain itu di musim tersebut ia membawa Chelsea menjuarai Piala Liga Inggris. Sebuah prestasi yang luar biasa. Namun, pamor Mourinho tidak hanya diperolehnya dari prestasinya membawa tim yang diasuhnya menjuarai kompetisi.

Selama 3 tahun menukangi Chelsea, sosok pelatih tampan nan arogan ini kerap menghiasi halaman depan media massa di Inggris. Kata-katanya yang pedas selalu dinantikan pers dan publik Inggris. Masih segar di ingatan kita perseteruannya dengan Sir Alex Ferguson, pelatih Manchester United. Serunya perang mulut dengan Arsene Wenger, pelatih Arsenal. Serta komentarnya kepada Rafael Benitez, pelatih Liverpool. Publik Inggris telah kehilangan salah satu "ikon" mereka dengan kepergiannya dari Chelsea.

Belum lagi Serie A dimulai, Mourinho telah memanaskan aroma persaingan di Italia. Carlo Ancelotti, pelatih AC Milan, yang dulu pernah menghinanya dibalasnya dalam suatu jumpa pers. Jika Anda tidak tahu berita tentang ini klik di sini. Dimana ada Mourinho di situ ada kontroversi. Belum mulai saja sudah panas apalagi ketika Serie A sudah dimulai!!!

Berita kedua adalah keberhasilan AC Milan mendatangkan Ronaldinho.

Pemain yang selalu tersenyum ini memiliki kualitas teknik yang sangat tinggi. Sentuhannya memiliki daya magis pada yang melihatnya. Kemampuannya sudah tak diragukan lagi. Walaupun pamornya mulai meredup belakangan ini, Ronaldinho tetaplan Ronaldinho, seorang pemain yang bertalenta tinggi.

Keberhasilan mendatangkan Pemain Terbaik Dunia versi FIFA tahun 2004 dan 2005 ini jelas-jelas mendongkrak pamor Serie A. Dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini para pemain bintang Serie A berbondong-bondong meninggalkan Serie A menuju ke Liga Inggris atau Liga Spanyol. Klub-klub di Serie A pun tidak mampu mendatangkan nama-nama besar untuk bermain di Serie A.

Semenjak kedatangan Zinedine Zidane ke Juventus pada tahun 1996, kedatangan Ronaldo ke Inter Milan pada tahun 1997, dan kedatangan Andriy Shevchenko ke AC Milan pada tahun 1999, tidak ada lagi nama besar yang datang ke Italia. Hanya pemain-pemain tua yang pernah menjadi bintang di zamannya yang mampu direkrut oleh klub-klub Italia.

Kedatangan Jose Mourinho dan Ronaldinho jelas-jelas menambah semaraknya Serie A. Namun dua nama itu barulah pemanas sebelum bergulirnya kompetisi Serie A. Jendela transfer masih dibuka hingga akhir Agustus. Masih banyak kejutan yang bisa terjadi hingga hari itu tiba. Sebagai penggemar Serie A, kejutan itu akan selalu dinantikan.

Josè mourinho è da poco l'allenatore del'Inter, ma ha già padronanza con i metodi che bisogna usare all'Inter.

Finalmente ha detto: I giocatori devono arrivare in orario e fare gli allenamenti regolari, senza fuge (Tipo Vieri e Di Biagio a Modena; ha detto una cosa decisiva, "chi non rispetta i miei ordini, va a casa!".

Era ora di un allenatore così, uno con le palle!

The Portuguese international put Chelsea on alert about his future after EURO 2008, having confessed he wanted to go back with former coach, Jose Mourinho.

Carvalho said he is a huge fan of Scolari, after working for him when he was Portugal coach, and is now happy to stay.

La pagina è voltata. Il giallorosso è alle spalle, il futuro è nerazzurro. Più azzurro che nero, se possibile. Perché Amantino Mancini, ormai ufficialmente un giocatore dell'Inter, ha tanta voglia di vincere con la nuova maglia: "Scudetto e Champions".

Sala stampa di Appiano Gentile: prime parole ufficiali da interista per il brasiliano. Che comincia dal passato... "L'anno scorso contro il Real Madrid ho avuto un problema al collo del piede che non mi ha permesso di allenarmi come volevo e che mi ha fatto perdere un po' il ritmo. Anche in una stagione così così, però, ho fatto 13 gol. Quelli a Roma per me sono stati cinque anni bellissimi, ho fatto tante cose importanti e per questo ringrazio la società".

Poi parla solo di Inter: "Mi ha fatto molto piacere quando mi hanno cercato e voluto, perché si tratta di una grandissima società e di un grandissimo club. Il mio sogno? Lavorare bene e raggiungere traguardi importanti, vincere lo scudetto. Poi c'è la Champions League, non sarebbe male vincerla. Lavoreremo per quello, questo è un gruppo che comunque fa paura".

Mancini parla anche di Mourinho: "E' una persona tranquilla e simpatica, speriamo di poter vincere qualcosa di molto importante. L'Inter ha dimostrato di essere forte, ha vinto due scudetti, e Mourinho darà il suo contributo. Diventeremo ancora più forti".

Si comincerà dalla Supercoppa, contro la sua Roma.... "Speriamo di iniziare bene. E di vincere".

Sidwell was signed by Jose Mourinho last year to add strength in depth to the squad as the midfield was going to be severely depleted in January due to African Cup of Nations. It looked a good decision in foresight as Ballack and Lampard both missed a sizeable part of the season but with Sidwell in the ranks we had someone experienced to call upon if needed. Sidwell knew that it was going to be the biggest challenge in his footballing career trying to find a place for himself in the Chelsea team but in Mourinho he had a manager who made him believe that he would judge him on merit and he was certainly not there to make up the numbers. Unfortunately, the manager who signed him didn't stayed long enough, Mourinho left the club in September. Under him he did got chances to prove himself but he didn't really set the stage alight with his performances. I distinctly remember that Reading game when we were quiet poor in the first half when he was orchestrating things from the middle. Mourinho took him off at the interval replacing him with Mikel and within no time our game improved and we went onto win the match.

Avram Grant replaced Mourinho as the Chelsea manager and it was back to square one for all the players especially the ones signed during the summers. Sidwell had to prove himself all over again. Grant was under pressure to deliver results right from the start and with the majority of the fanbase against his appointment, it was hard for him to make unpopular decisions. He preferred to stick with the experienced players and Sidwell was rooted to the bench, not even the bench at times. He played an important part for us in January when we were very thin on numbers. It would be hard to pick out standout performances of Sidwell in Chelsea colours but I distinctly remember two games, the one away at Wigan in the FA Cup and the League Cup semifinal against Everton at Goodison Park where I thought he performed really well. In his time at Chelsea he only scored one goal and that came against the Hull side who have been promoted to Premier League this year.

Sidwell during his time here didn't gave any glimpses of his play which could make us believe that he was a genuine first team material but one thing you can't deny about the lad is that he does work hard for the team. People don't usually notice that and I know at times they have been too critical of him. Some even wrote him off before he played a game which is sad. At a club like Chelsea these days the pressure of winning is probably too much and players don't get any honeymoon periods. They are expected to fire on all cylinders right from the word go and not everyone can live upto that expectation. Sidwell couldn't.

I am not too disappointed about his departure to be honest because if not for the African Cup of Nations last year we were well covered in midfield which is still the case. Moreover it would be better if an academy players takes up his position as when you are 6th in the pecking order, games are not going to come your way every now and then. Sidwell is undoubtedly a good player and at a club where the level of expectation is not so high he would settle in well. I am quiet chuffed that he has chosen Villa because in Martin O'Neill he has a manager who has the ability to get the best out of his players. With Gareth Barry expected to leave for Liverpool, Sidwell would be the top contender to take his place in midfield.

It would be too harsh on the lad to label him a mercenary because if we use that criteria then every other football player on this planet is one. He was brave and ambitious enough to take the chance that came his way when Chelsea came knocking on the door even though he knew that getting into the first team was by no means a piece of cake. He got the chance to play at one of the top clubs in the world alongside the best players in the business which I believe any footballer worth his salt would have jumped at. Villa presents a brilliant opportunity to him to get back to playing football week in and week out and prove his detractors wrong. Hope he does well there!

I dagens Daily express så kan man utläsa om att Frank Lampard har sagt till sina lagkamrater att han vill lämna Chelsea efter sju år i klubben.  Inter är den förmodade klubben destinationen, beslutet kom efter att  den nya tillsatte tränaren, Scolari hade utryckt att Lampard ville stanna kvar i klubben efter Scolari och Lampard hade pratas vid. 

 Lampard menar att Scolari och han hade en pratstund visserligen men de diskuterade aldrig Lampards framtid.  Efter denna sammandrabbning mellan den nya tränaren och Lampard så ser sitautionen oviss ut för Lampard som klart utrryckt en åsikt om att stanna kvar i klubben tills hans fotbollskarriär är slut.  Men förtroendet för den nya tränaren var brutet.
