The Debt es un remake del filme israelí HaHov, estrenado en 2007, y que Matthew Vaughn ha adaptado junto a Jane Goldman. Vaughn, actualmente marcado como el director de la próxima adaptación de Thor, se hará cargo también de la producción.

After beginning his career calling AFL games on ABC, he moved to NBC in 1965, announcing no less than 28 different sports for the Peacock Network, including golf, tennis, Major League Baseball, NFL football and two Olympic Games.

Jones' versatility went beyond sports announcing. His unmistakeable "kettledrum voice" was often heard in the background on many popular television shows, including Columbo, McCloud, McMillan & Wife, Banacek, Ironside, and more recently, The L Word. He also hosted Pro-Fan, which was one of the first celebrity game shows featuring sports personalities, and was the regular announcer of Almost Anything Goes, the wild and wacky sports show whose signature obstacle-course stunts were in many respects precursors to the wild and wacky immunity challenges we see each week on Survivor.

Via Awful Announcing, the ratings have the Bears as the third best team in the NFC North, ahead of only the Detroit Lions, and Rex Grossman as the starting quarterback.

Two interesting things to note here: One, the gap between the haves and have-nots in the NFC North is wider than anticipated. The Packers (91) and Vikings (90) are light years ahead of the lowly Bears (80) and Lions (78). And two, Packers rookie quarterback Brian Brohm (80), is better than Rex Grossman (79).

You would imagine that the Bears walloping 80 is attributed to an uncertain offense dragging the team's overall rating down. It's not made clear, but if I had to guess, I'd say the offense is 74 with the defense picking up the slack at 86.

As far as Brohm being better than Grossman, I'm a little surprised. I can't believe John Madden putting his stamp of approval on giving a predecessor of ex-Packer quarterback and long-time man crush, Brett Favre, anything over 50.

GAMEPLAY

1. Weather                                                                                                                                                       Make it more realistic. More detailed. Rain should look like rain not gray diagonal lines. Also, make the weather be more suited to the city and the month. It's not gonna be snowy in San Diego in Week 1 of the season.

2. Weather-Gameplay Corrollation.                                                                                                             Rain should affect ball carrying ratings. Snow should affect toughness ratings - because it's cold - and awareness ratings. And wind should affect passes and kicks. I want to see more passes in windy conditions wobble like the football wobbles when you try to teach your girlfriend to throw a spiral! I want to see kicks get blown off course.

3. Kicking                                                                                                                                                        You should not be able to hit every 50-yard kick. It should be harder to kick field goals. A kicker should not be 100% on the season.

Also, change the kicking/punting game to more like NCAA Football 08. It's impossible to block field goals and punts in Madden. And, you should be able to abort the kick/punt like in NCAA Football 08.

And another things, I want more imperfect long snaps and some bobbled holds too. There should be problems in the kicking game.

5. Injuries                                                                                                                                                      Make it less predictable, more realistic, and add more injury types. If somebody gets a severe concussion, that player should be shown carried off the field on a stretcher. I think that there should also be players that get injuries according to how they are tackled or how they get blocked. And, make it to where people can be listed day-to-day.

FRANCHISE MODE

6. Stats                                                                                                                                                            Nobody should ever get a 2,000-yard season rushing. Not even L.T.

7. Morale Problems                                                                                                                                        I want contract disputes, hold-outs, and other problems. I want to have to manage a jerk. Not everybody should be happy. If somebody's not starting, they shouldn't have perfect morale. I want players getting called out. Like in NCAA Football 08, but different. There are academic and team standards in that. Not academic, but players should get disciplined.

8. Contracts/Free Agents                                                                                                                             They should be way more realistic. Way, way, way more. If I deduct somebody .01 million they shouldn't go from complete green to red. And, add options and no-trade clauses to options in contracts, as well as 12 years as the most years you can sign a player to instead of just seven.

FEATURES

9. Equipment                                                                                                                                               Make it more like NCAA Football 08. Add thick bands and thin bands. Add more facemasks. Make the 'Team Color Wristband' to suit the uni'. If the Chargers are wearing their alternate light blue jersey, make their 'TCW' light blue. And, make the mouth pieces look less like pacifiers.

10. Uniform Creation                                                                                                                                    Make it more like NCAA Football 08. Give me more colors and more options. And better logos, the current ones suck.

GAME MODES

11. "G.M. Mode"                                                                                                                                              There is a head coach mode. So make a GM mode. It's like a franchise mode. But it's not the current NFL rosters. It's the way they were after the Giants won the Super Bowl. So you can sign Asante Samuel, etc. And then after the FA Signing period. You can do the draft with the players that were in it. So you can make your own team. So it's like 'I would have drafted Glenn Dorsey with the Rams' you can do that.

PLAYER WEAPONS ICONS.

12. Fullback Icons                                                                                                                                         Give 'em some love! Give them the bulldozer icon if they are a good impact blocker, give them the hand icon possession receivers have if they can catch well. Give them a star icon if they can do everything well.

13. Kicker Icons                                                                                                                                           Give them a little love. If a kicker has an accurate leg, give him the crosshair icon that Precision Passers have. If a kicker has a strong leg, give him the rocket icon that Cannon Arms have. If he is a great kicker, give him a field goal icon. Like a little upright thing.

14. Punter Icons                                                                                                                                            They don't deserve it, but it's a must. If a punter is a good coffin corner punter, give him the crosshair icon that Precision Passers have. If a punter has a strong leg, give him the rocket icon that Cannon Arms have. If he is a great punter, give him a coffin. For a coffin corner punter.

PLAYCALLING

15. "Ask Madden"                                                                                                                                  Some people always go for two or go for it on 4th down. So, since those are usually the newbies. They don't know what to call. So, if you want to ask Madden in those situations he tells you to point or go for the P.A.T. So, you should enable them to ask Madden what play to use when you're going for it. Maybe holding down the Left analog stick down then pressing square. And he could say something like 'Boom! If you gotta go for it, run this play!'

16. Realistic Playcalling                                                                                                                                 Make it harder to complete a hail mary play or a trick play. You shouldn't be able to get a TD every time you throw a hail mary.

MADDEN NEWBIES

17. Affect 'Newbie Tactics'                                                                                                                            Newbies always do things that make Madden vets go crazy. Run the same play a thousand time, run back ten yards then throw a perfect pass, and always blitz. So, if they play the CPU, make it to where the CPU picks up on plays called multiple times. And blur the receiver icons out the further away the QB gets from the receivers.

CPU PLAYCALLING

18. Dual Back Teams                                                                                                                                     If there is a team that runs a two-back system, split the carries between them.

MISCELLANEOUS

19. Player Size                                                                                                                                                A player's size should affect their ratings. If you have a 5'11 270 DT he should have his ratings go down. It should also affect drafting in the scouting reports. It tells you injury and academic status, it should say "Does not have problems with injuries, but does have academic problems. Has above average size

20. Player Editing                                                                                                                                           You should not be able to edit a player's position. I've seen people edit L.T.'s position, making him an MLB. Then being able to trade a 6th rounder to get him, then change him back to a RB in franchise mode. You should not be able to do that. Here's the editing limitations below.

 (Philadelphia, Pa) -- Here is a list of key dates that I believe every football fan will need to know going into the 2008 NFL season.  I am sure every NFL talking head including John Madden, Peter King, Chris Berman, Fran Charles, Ray Didinger, and others will have some kind of variation of this document in their stack of NFL propaganda.

• Late May thru June - Rookies from all 32 NFL teams are scheduled to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame during June 2008. The program will run for five weeks with the first team being the Oakland Raiders on May 28^th.  The Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins rookies will visit in August, when their teams participate in the Hall of Fame Game.
• June 1 -- Deadline for old clubs to send tender to unsigned unrestricted free agents to receive exclusive negotiating rights for rest of season if another club does not sign player by July 22.
• June 1 -- Deadline for old clubs to send tender to unsigned restricted free agents or to extend qualifying offer to retain exclusive negotiating rights.
• June 1 -- Under CBA rules, this date allows veterans that have received signing bonuses in the past to be cut by their teams without their entire signing bonus kicking-in for the current cap year.  By cutting a veteran after this date, the past signing bonuses can be stretched into the next cap year rather than taking a hit all at once.
• June 15 -- Deadline for old clubs to withdraw original qualifying offer to unsigned restricted free agents and still retain exclusive negotiating rights by substituting tender of 110 percent of previous year's salary.
• June 29-July 2  -- NFL Rookie Symposium in Carlsbad, California.  This is the yearly NFL freshman basic skills prep course.
• Around July 12 --- NFL Supplemental Draft - The NFL's "special" draft for players wishing to enter the NFL for a number of reasons (Academics, Family Obligations, etc) that missed the main NFL Draft in April.  If a team elects to use a supplemental draft pick on one of the eligible prospects, that team will give up its pick in the same round in next April's draft (2009).
• July 22 -- Signing period ends at 4:00 PM ET for unrestricted free agents who received June 1 tender.  This means that a player unhappy with the contract tendered to him can either sign the deal or holdout. Once the deadline passes, franchise players can sign only one-year deals with their current teams.  Watch for franchised players Titans DT Albert Haynesworth and Dallas FS Ken Hamlin
• July 27 --- The Arena Football League (AFL) season will commence with the playing of ArenaBowl XXII in New Orleans at 3 pm (ABC)
• Late July -- Training camps open.  The Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins will be the first to open camp as both have rookies reporting on July 22^nd.  The last teams to report will be the Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Baltimore Ravens with all checking players in on July 29^th.
• August 2 - Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2008 Enshrinement Ceremonies.  The newest class of enshrinees (WR Art Monk, CB Darryl Green, LB Andre Tippett, DB Emitt Thomas, DE Fred Dean, and OT Gary Zimmerman) will be formally inducted into the PHOF in a ceremony held at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

If you're the commissioner of an autodraft fantasy MLB league, you can count on the owneres of Alex Rodriguez, Jorge Posada, and Josh Beckett, to be the biggest whiners in your league because "autodrafts are so not fair."

All non-Green Bay Packer fans will have "had enough of Farve-Fest '08," Formula 1 fans will think NASCAR is for rednecks, Met fans are pessimists, Yankee fans are arrogant, golfers are not athletes, and UFOs are real.

Many sports fans will have come "this close" to having picked George Mason to go deep in the NCAA Tournament, "could have told you" that Tom Brady was going to be a great NFL quarterback, and "never gave up" on the Bosox when they trailed the Yankees 3-0 in the American League Championship game. 

Tiger Woods fans "have always" liked watching golf on television, Florida Gator fans "just knew" that Peyton Manning woud be a great pro even though his Tennessee Volunteers never beat Florida while he was there, and all Indiana Hoosier fans "never liked Isiah Thomas."

Most viewers of ESPN thought it was a "great idea" to start broadcasting the NFL Draft, Selection Sunday, and Austrailian Rules Football, Raider fans "had a feeling" that John Madden would become more known for being a color commentator than a Super Bowl winning coach, and Notre Dame fans thought it was a "huge mistake" to fire Ty Willingham and replace him with Charlie Weiss.

And lastly (for now), most living Yankee fans saw Mickey Mantle play at some point "towards the end of his career," baseball "purists" could tell that "something wasn't right" with McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, and Clemens, and there wasn't one NBA talent evaluator who would not have drafted Kobe Bryant and or Labron James right out of high school.

Switzer Speaks: Favre to Fox?

That’s why FOX included Switzer on its studio show last year, pairing him as a “Grumpy Old Man’’ with long-time friend/nemesis Jimmy Johnson. But Switzer told me on Friday that while the network is still negotiating with him about a role, FOX may replace him on its totem pole with another legendary name.

“Well, they’re talking to Favre,’’ said Switzer as we both attended OU’s Honorary Degree luncheon on the school’s campus. “I still think they want me involved in some way. But with Brett. … they might pair him in a segment with (Terry) Bradshaw, I don’t know. … It’s a lot of fun for me, but there’s only so much time (available) on that show. And, hey, he’s Brett Favre!’’

Someone in TV please sign Brett Favre, please!!! Not because I want to hear the good old boy from Mississippi analyze the game but because it would further reassure the Lions won’t be guaranteed two losses on the season.  Seriously has Favre filled out his retirement papers yet? 

Anyway if Favre does go to TV I think he should do Sunday night games with Al Michaels and John Madden on NBC.  Could you picture the Madden and Favre love affair in the booth.  Madden would be all over Favre every Sunday night like he was a 12 legged turkey on Thanksgiving they might have to stiffen the TV rating for those broadcast maybe a TV-MA.

I've been a Marylander my whole life, but my Cheeseheaded-self could easily overpower the likes of a Redskin fan---right on down to the skivvies (I say Skins fan because along with the Cowboys, the Packers and Skins are the top, fan-favorite teams in the league). I'm often quizzed/challenged on all things Packers and/or football in general. I welcome it though because it feels almost like an initiation of sorts, and it also gives me the opportunity to stick it to the naysayers. I attribute my knowledge, love, adoration, and the possession of a cheesehead (the old school one that's bigger and a darker shade of yellow) for this organization to family friends out in Wisconsin. Without them, I would never have been introduced to the amazing athlete known simply as "Brett".

From the moment I laid eyes on #4 at the ripe old age of 8, I knew he was special. For the past 16 years, I have watched Brett Favre walk out onto the field to play his game. Through the turmoil, the illnesses, the bitter defeats, and all-empowering wins, he has been my quarterback. It was more than the good looks (any female with eyes will tell you Brett Favre is hot---grey and all), I felt some sort of comfort; a relief. Oddly enough I counted on him more than anyone else to give it his all, and he never disappointed. In a cliché kind of way that only a chick football fan could say---Brett and I grew up together. So if there was anyone on the east coast devastated by his retirement back in March, it was definitely me.

I was at work when I first heard the news, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry over it. I had been in the office for maybe an hour, when I checked into ESPN. My heart sank. I immediately sat and stared---I knew he would retire, but I wasn't ready for it to happen. Overcome with emotion and feeling utterly nostalgic, I poured it all into a fan blog on ESPN. I got a ton of responses from fans, non-fans, and ESPN friends who really were indifferent, but got wrapped up in the emotion of it all. ESPN even quoted me on the front page of their website. For the rest of the day people knew to keep their distance. Even my 10 y/o cousin knew not to mention his name or anything resembling it. For a week I was in a state of melancholy, trying to accept the inevitable. With a little help from my Brett Favre rookie card (which I give thanks to my twin brother for---Brett was a nobody when I traded for his card, just a no-name QB on my new favorite team the Packers. He looks better in Green and Gold than he did in Falcons gear; and no, I'm not selling it), countless memorabilia, and some fond memories, I was able to move on.

Fast-forward a month or two, and there's already speculation regarding his return. If there was anyone who wanted Brett to return, it would be me. But he's not going to, and we shouldn't assume he will. Like I kept telling people this weekend, I've been through enough pain without these insinuations that everyone is reporting as fact. I can only attribute this sudden attention on "will he/won't he" to two very different sources, but equally as important to NFL culture---Madden '09 and the NFL Draft.

Hearing the news of Brett gracing the cover of Madden '09 got me ecstatic. This honor reflects the quality of performance and character the player had during the past NFL season. It sparked debate, and I found myself defending Favre---at 38, the man ended his career with one of the best seasons he's ever had. "Brett Favre" and "football" are synonymous with one another, and he rightly deserved the cover. Needless to say, immediately people started telling me that he would be coming back. Without a doubt. My response---it's a videogame box cover people! Get a grip. What he and the fans went through during the whole retirement week would not be reversed by a piece of plastic. During and interview with ESPN, they asked Brett about making the Madden cover. In response, he flatly said (as only Brett could do), "I'm not savvy enough to play this game. Most of the younger generation has no idea [Madden] coached...Some of our guys play Madden better than they play on Sundays. And they spend more time talking about playing Madden." Sounds like he's going to come back. His enthusiasm over Madden '09 just makes it so.

Because it was draft time this past weekend, the Packers organization had to officially put Brett on the reserve-retired list. However, because he hasn't signed his retirement papers, people thinks he's coming back. Let me point out a couple of things: 1. The retirement papers are just a formality. He's hardly the first, and he's far from being the last to not sign his retirement papers right away. 2. Why would the Packers pick up two more QBs in the draft if they were anticipating Favre's return? In case you missed it, they picked up Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn. After getting WR Jordy Nelson for their first pick (I'm not entirely sure why), I don't think they would've wasted the attention there in lieu of a return by #4.

This past Friday, Brett further explained to ESPN, "There are always second thoughts, but that's not saying I am coming back. It's never a clear-cut decision. It's something I can't expect everyone to understand. No, there's no perfect time. First of all, I won't keep myself in shape. I'm sure after training camp is over and all that hard work is done, it might be 'OK, now.' It might be nice to dream about it, but no." Even reminiscing with old friends and relishing in personal achievements couldn't get #4 to change his mind on Friday. He doesn't expect the skeptics to understand. In fact, I doubt he expects anyone to truly understand outside the likes of John Elway, Joe Montana, or Dan Marino. However, he has hinted he intends to be a part of football in some aspect in the near future. For now, he simply said, "I'm eager to get home."

• En plena reunión con los amigos, Peter asombra a sus amigos al llevar una versión para adultos de la película Casa Blanca, que en este caso se llama Nalga Blanca (Assablanca en inglés). Se parodia la famosa escena en la que Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) le dice a Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) que se lamentará si no coge el avión. En la versión que llevó Peter, el protagonista le pide a ella que se monte en "su trasto" o se arrepentirá: -quizas no hoy ni mañana, pero pronto y para el resto de tu vida.

• Fabrican un muñeco parodia de los militares americanos judios, Gi Jew.

• Cuando Peter se queda sin empleo, trabajó anunciando los cereales Cocoa Puffs vestido de Sonny el cuco. Le despiden por decir, en la versión original, ca-ca en vez de cuckoo.

• Otra de las maneras de ganar dinero fue intentar ganar en un concurso de talentos donde gana la familia Von Trap, de la película Sonrisas y Lágrimas.

• Peter se hace pasar por el heroe anónimo que planto cara a los tanques en la revuelta de la plaza de Tiananmen.

• En una rueda de prensa podemos ver al ex presidente de Estados Unidos, Bill Clinton, copa en mano y con un caracter muy atrevido riéndose de los periodistas.

• Peter en pos de tratar a Lois como a una reina le regala su bufon personal, interpretado por Jerry Seinfeld.

• Peter lanza dinero en la Super Bowl XXXIII.

• Comentando el partido podemos ver a John Madden.

• Guiño a la película Forrest Gump, cuando el protagonista que le daba nombre a la película, interpretado por Tom Hanks, decía su frase favorita :"-Mama siempre decia, la vida es como una caja de bombones, nunca sabes lo que te va a tocar". En este caso Stewie le suelta una variación belica de la frase: "-Veras madre, la vida es como una caja de bombones, nunca sabes cual te va a tocar. Tu vida en cambio es una caja de ... ¡granadas cargadas !".

• Peter se defiende ante el juez haciendo referencia a un episodio de la serie Caricias Diferentes, traducción directa del titulo original Diff'rent Strokes, aunque la serie aquí en España se llamó Arnold.

• Irrumpe en la sala del juicio la mascota del refresco Kool-Aid gritando su frase comercial: -"Oh siiii!" ("Oh yeaaahh!" en versión original).

• La familia entera disfruta viendo en television el programa "TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes" en el cual se muestra los errores que hacen los actores por accidente cuando están filmando una obra. En esta ocasión Dick Clark y Ed Mcmahon muestran un error que se produce en la serie "Joanie Loves Chachi" cuando Scott Baio intenta decir un trabalenguas "Tres tristes tigres ..." ("She sells seashells down by seashoreshop" en versión original) y de repente aparece un oso y le ataca. El oso viene a cuento (si es que algo viene a cuenta de algo en esta serie xD) por ser de otro trabalenguas americano "The big black bug bit the big black bear and made the big black bear bleed blood".
